Berlin based producer CONCEPTUAL is back home after his Not an easy one Ep, again providing his own vision on techno, full of sonic landscapes, detail and intelligence.

Release starts with Approach slowly a brief atmospheric intro that sets the pace for what comes next in Il silenzio degli innocenti introducing the rhythmic pulse from the first bar with almost all elements into he equation, this is a minimalistic tool where percussive elements evolve in a subtle manner all over the arrangement.

No more excuses continues in the mood, adding more spice to the formula with reverberated details, growing mental sequences and the usual complex groove. Intense and mental all in one.

Sand fury follows, with atmospheres colliding with rugged components, evolving all together in a progressive arrangement, a superb tool to enhance your mixes properly.

Miles per hour introduces you into another sonic realm, using elastic synth lines, a wise reverb work and a sensation of infinite space combined with floor intensity. Again a proper intelligent missile for the adequate dancefloors out there.

Simone Scardino is one of those few creators that always pushes his sound one step further and we are super proud to have him onboard again.

TWR72 opens the EP with 'Ultraviolet', an energetic, club-like cut based in a closed and looped rhythm, with a vibrant, minimalist and industrial vision. The sequencing of his bass - giving him futuristic feelings - and the subtle sound of bells adds attraction to a cut intended to blow up the toughest dance floors.

What Alderaan proposes with 'Lino' is an insider techno journey, introspective by nature, textured and exciting. From a dystopian environment and in loop, all of it has one main idea: moving and touching the listener's mind.

Tuber through 'Second Choice' bets on a predominantly techno cut, as floor-friendly as abstract. Here is a sign of his love for the anabolic and the fierce and for that mentaloid touch that sometimes becomes schizoid.

Albert Van Abbe closes the EP with 'Inguma One', a cut that is an extract from the 'Broken Cymbals' set he recorded for Semantica. It's a dub passage in which he uses granular synthesis to create deep and icy atmospheres, giving rise to complex and escapist textures.

Following from a.s.o. 's self-titled LP, we have a set of remixes taking their trip-hop torch songs in new and different directions.
Under his Lew E moniker, Lewie Day takes 'Go On' for a trip to trance-town. Brooding minor key menace as Alia Seror-O'Neil's melancholic vocal gets twisted into strange shapes, eventually becoming an instrument of its own. Mutating from the organic to the synthetic during an adrenaline-racing breakdown. Day sounds like he's having a great deal of fun playing with and defying the conventions of the genre.
Maara explores a similar space on her re-rub of 'My Baby's Got It Out For Me'. Once again, Seror-O'Neil's voice is flexed and warped, spinning around the stereo field, as emotive as she ever sounds but more abstracted. Gossamer light with a heavyweight trance chassis - an iron fist in a lace glove.
Rising star Cousin moves in an earthier and more dubwise fashion on his remix of 'Falling Under.' His trademark shuffling, layered percussion comes with gnarly electronics and blissed-out synths. All the while, that vocal refrain leads us through the bong smoke toward the light. A work of restraint and release, the perfect fit for a.s.o.
Purelink's redo of 'Rain Down' is closer stylistically to the original. Bubbling synth-bass grooves atop a breakbeat, the vocal chopped and diced tastefully. Balearic street soul vibes, a hypnotic and heady five minutes. Beautiful business.

Opening with an immediate dancefloor impact, Lysithea utilises an addictive, memorable breakbeat pattern with thrusting snares and excitable hi-hats to craft a classic old school serenity, riddled with the washing waves of ambient soundscapes that intersect jubilantly to the breaks. A piece which demonstrates Aural Imbalance's versatility in the genre, blending an abundance of both adjacent and paradoxical techniques to the mix.

AA1 - Altered Perception
Thick, enveloping atmospheric synths open Altered Perception, a track perfect to reset the mind with delicately balanced serene tones and a smooth drumloop. The breakdown arrives and the star of the show reveals itself for the second half, an unforgettable earworm melodic bassline that elevates the track to new heights. When the graceful outro knowingly takes its bow, you will be left to reflect on something quite special.

AA2 - Mountain Sky
Aural Imbalance closes the EP in style with an uneasy array of effects stuttering around tense synths to create an eerie introduction to Mountain Sky, before finely edited Hot Pants breaks and a delicious 808 bassline begin their calculated phonic onslaught to the ears. We are treated to an impressive medley of classic atmospheric inspiration here, rounded of superbly with a nicely elongated outro.
