Wigan Casino - the original UK dance culture super club - ran its’ first Nothern Soul All-Nighter in September 1973. It’s last session was in December 1981, and by then its 500 plus frantic All-Nighter had firmly stamped Northern Soul as an integral part of the British music landscape. Wigan Casino Classics 1973 - 2023 proudly celebrates 50 years since the birth of the most important ever Northern Soul venue with 14 all time classic floor fillers. The Sandi Sheldon, Major Lance, The Seven Souls and Johnny Robinson gems were originally released on the Uber cool Okeh label but despite being part of the mighty Columbia Records empire sank without trace on release in the USA only to be discovered (and revered) by UK Soul devotees. The Metros and Lorraine Chandler tracks were produced by Detroit’s mighty Pied Piper Productions crew and demonstrate that Motown were far from the only Motor City set up that knew how to conjure up truly breathtaking music. In Northern Soul lore there is an intriguing story behind all 14 tracks - who produced and wrote them, which Rare Soul detectives - the original crate diggers - discovered them, what DJs played them.. But at the centre of it all is Wigan Casino, the seen better days Lancashire dance hall where 2,500 plus Soul fanatics flocked to every weekend to dance dance dance at the pre Rave era ultimate Rave. The recent 50th Anniversary celebration in Blackpool attracted a 5,000 turn out. The legend lives on. This release marks the return of the always style wise Joe Boy label. Their trademark on point graphics are reinforced with the LP front sleeve being devoted to an iconic photograph by Francesco Mellini taken at the last ever Casino All-Nighter. Enrico Sangiuliano proves why he is one of the underground most inquisitive and forward thinking creatives with a new EP on his own transient imprint NINETOZERO, ushering the next generation of Italian talent alongside one of his own fresh new cuts. Scheduled for release on vinyl this December, the EP includes Enrico's solo track 'Glitch In Time' along with compositions from Alex Lentini & STOMP BOXX, Antonio D'Africa & Sall, and Mattia Saviolo. NINETOZERO is a time-limited record label restricted to 10 chapters that aims to disrupt the notion of perpetual music. Releases show marked evolutions in the Italian's sound and thinking each time. That is the case again here from the Emilia native who is known for his timeless underground tracks, his Gold certified remix of the self-titled classic by Age Of Love alongside partner Charlotte de Witte and his SOLO all night long event series which has taken him everywhere from Rome to Ghent, New York to Amsterdam, and which will soon take him to São Paulo. Title track, 'Glitch In Time,' metaphorically suggests a disruption in the flow of time, reflecting temporary flaws in a system. Sangiuliano's musical interpretation explores these disruptions, providing an intriguing and unexpected sonic experience. Enrico Sangiuliano on the EP and collaboration with the Italian producers : “The Sentinels are an Italian collective of skilful producers I collaborated with for this chapter of NINETOZERO. We have regular chats about music and production, during one of which I shared the concept of this release “Glitch In Time”. This got our minds flowing to the idea that each of us could approach this chapter in their own signature style. The outcome, to me is, a strong collection of tracks that distinguish themselves from the mainstream, providing an intriguing translation for this release. Excited to share this new chapter soon with you all!”

Juan Mendez aka Silent Servant is a figure in techno history that needs little introduction. As a member of the Sandwell District collective and the label’s art director he collaborated on works that were responsible for a global focal shift in the genre as their label adapted and challenged the paradigm of minimal techno, taking influence from other sources such as dub, post-punk, and even classical minimalism.
But Mendez’s relationship with music goes back much further than these seminal releases. With In Memoriam, Silent Servant’s latest release on Tresor Records, Mendez writes a deeply personal memoir of a 30-plus year career spent exploring and absorbing the shadowy side of music; a carefully crafted elegy to people, places, and times past and the lasting effect they have on the present.
Across the four tracks, Mendez pays tribute to the earliest Detroit techno and electro, the Belgian EBM movement and the wave music that followed, the monumental dub techno sound from Berlin, and the harder, abrasive sound of the UK at the turn of the last millennium; exploring and referencing the genres that informed his later work. Each track name gives a hint to the timeframe he is revisiting and re-contextualising as the E.P. repurposes the styles that exerted an influence on him.
This E.P. represents a pure distillation of Mendez’s memories whilst also cementing his place in the current and future sound of 21st century techno; aware of where we came from but focused on where we are heading.

'For All Of Us' is the fourth album from liquid funk pioneers Technimatic, and the first on their own label 'Technimatic Music'.
Since joining forces in 2007, Peter Rogers and Andy Powell have become key players in the world of musical, emotive drum & bass. Their rich back catalogue covers the cream of d&b labels - Hospital, Ram, Shogun Audio and Spearhead to name a few - and in 2021 they established their own 'Technimatic Music' imprint.
'For All Of Us' reflects the current moment we are living in. The post-pandemic landscape, rising energy costs, geo-political instability, coupled with the relentless demands and expectations of social media have left many feeling disconnected, lost or anxious about their place and purpose in the world.
But music has always been a guiding force that, when the dark feels overbearing, never fails to help people into the light. Over the years, Pete and Andy have been inundated with personal messages of difficulty, grief, hardship, and how their music has helped people process, cope or just forget briefly about their troubles and go somewhere else. This is what 'For All Of Us' is about.

Propulsive techno solicitations abound on Ideoma, the debut EP from Oscean, a collaboration from Sebastia?n Galante, also known as Seph, and Andre?s Zacco. The two are figureheads of Argentina's techno sound, with releases on labels such as Insurgentes, Echocord Colour and Ilian Tape over the last decade.
Galante and Zacco join forces for the first time with inspiring effects, moving forward with vast paces, unshifting footsteps, with uneven prisms of electronic rhythm. Its direct intent and crisp sonic detail conjure a cinematic and nocturnal drive, unearthing subterranean pulses that leave all in its wake.
With Ideoma, Tresor Records presents a whirlwind of dense movement and cosmic energy that twists on percussive bends and distorting spirits. Spiral recalls natural phenomena, bound tight, with a rugged texture like no other, as flickers of sound processing suggest lift-off. The flanging Feral exudes a potent demeanour, wicked and unceasing. The ebbing melodics of Spacion hark back to 90s ambient techno and yet possess a rhythmic cut and thrust that navigates unchartered terrain.
Transmuting beyond planet earth, further into the extra-terrestrial, Galante and Zacco mask fractal brush- strokes with hurrying rhythms. They smear primitive and sharp sonics, pressed with dizzying resilience. The nosediving FM synths of Austraal beckon a haunting trip, cloaked in a trance of motion and forever eschewing all prediction.

MIDNIGHT BLUE 150 GRAM TRANSPARENT VINYL!
It's been nearly 15 years since this originally hit the shelves, which literally took the immersive atmospheric sound of Echospace and brought it right to the floor. With cv313's "Sailingstars" the spirit continues as they go on to preach the gospel of deep with a rippling exercise in space and bass. A sort of slow motion movement in tone and 38 hz sub frequency which nearly verges on the disturbing, a sonic threshold quite hard to achieve in a vinyl cut. The power of repetition and subtle atmosphere are clearly demonstrated here by bringing the listener to an almost hypnotic state within its melodic spatial grooves. The B side offers two immense reductions, equally effective providing a low end throb, analog spirit and organic textures captured in zero gravity, it's like truly sailing among the stars. Lovingly remastered and mixed down from the original analog 1/4" reel to reel tape, strictly limited to 300 copies for the world.
