Ever since the early days of the 90s when producers began experimenting with the signature motifs of high octane disco music within the 4 on the floors, there has been a steady stream of happy go lucky releases which have never failed to deliver the goods on the Dancefloor.

Say Namm label head BDK remains a devotee to both genres, and pours his passions into the tunes he crafts, with SNA001 demonstrating the vibe of the imprint and the direction it might be heading in. The tunes found on this release weren’t your run of the mill edits, oh no, they had heart, swerve and depth, with the samples pushed to their absolute limit both in terms of energy and creativity.

Keeping the fire very much alive and well, 002 provides the diversity and well roundedness we came to know and love with the first release, with each track showcasing a differing side to the relationships that persist between disco and house.

The EP’s opener ‘Just Can’t Be Without You’ draws plenty of focus to the baseline and looping vocal effect, a superb groove that delves deep into the soul. ‘All I Want’ keeps its cards close to its chest, with a thunderous rhythm section providing the basis for a heart clenching melodic section to come forth, and its release is top notch.

On the flip, ‘Oh! What a Life!’ places plenty of emphasis on the excellent drumming patterns, with the intricate key lines and vocal performance dwelling perfectly within the peaks and troughs. Rounding off the experience comes the aptly named ‘Disco Sauce’, which shifts perspective to the euphoria inducing guitar riff, one which dominates the top layer to perfection as the rest of the track also does the business over and over again.

So why not embrace the warmth and get lost within some superbly made disco-house, with riffs and hooks to remember and rhythm sections to really immerse yourself within. The Dancefloor is waiting…..

Braindance is the second, highly anticipated, collaborative EP from Irish producer DJ Mudak 2000 and French producer FTL, landing on their new label as the debut release.

Produced in Dublin & Paris, the two prolific junglists have encapsulated the intricacies of modern jungle while still highlighting the emotive elements of yesteryear.

The first track "I Wanna" begins as a fantastically light, classic jungle track with piercing soul vocals that unpacks into a soaring brawl of amens and intense 808s. A great representation of the duality of light and dark elements which make this whole EP a standout.

A2 "Barriers" is a driving, high tempo club ready cut. There is absolutely no messing about with this one, in your face reese business for the peak timers. On the flipside, title track "Braindance" is a complex yet ethereal roller carried along by hovering staccato vocals that are contrasted with a deep cutting sub that will hit you in all of the right spots.

The final track "Chasing A Dream" lives up to its name as its emotive synth lines and Sad Boys-esque cowbells will fill you with the tangible feelings of want and passion.

Canada's Solar Phenomena presents three DJ Sotofett remixes of Tokyo producer Mystica Tribe. With a unique and unpredictable approach, Norwegian DJ Sotofett who runs Sex Tags Mania, Amfibia and Wania opens the remix EP with "Ash of Dub Mix", and as the names suggests, a fat dub with huge rubbery kicks, oodles of echoing hits and a spaced out curiousness that sonically draws inwards. "Dub Lawn Dub" eight minutes strips it back with a meandering top line, whimsical, dreamy and encouraging synths contrasting the rickety drums tumbling below. Lastly, "Dub'right Mix" continues the producer trademark loose limbed and jumbled drums, working into a lather while synths squelches and wobbled pads parallely prospects other dimensions. A continuation of the extensive research project initiated last year between Sound Metaphors, Transmigration and surviving eye-witness/historian Ray Castle. An in depth analysis of the dancefloor landscape that developed in Goa during the 80s' and early 90's well before "Trance" became the unfortunate dirty word it is today. After releasing five sold out various artists EP’s featuring 25 artists, positivesource is excited to present a new chapter for the label with a diverse and anthemic EP from Berlin based producer Regent.

No stranger to the label, Regent contributed to src005 last year with his smooth techno roller ‘Off Agenda’ alongside music from Neri J, Alpha Tracks, Vil & Cravo. His tracks have featured heavily in DJ sets by label founders Blue Hour and Philippa Pacho over the years, naturally the idea to present the first artist EP on positivesource with Regent comes as no surprise. The record starts on a hypnotic tip with ‘Occult’, grooving along with an infectious bass-line swung beats and blissed out atmospherics before stepping up the energy levels on ‘Khmera’, a relentless chord driven percussive anthem with nostalgic vocals rising to new heights. On the flip the title track ‘Aphid Riot’ is bold and vibrant leaning heavily into UK flavours using sliced up vocals, breakbeats and a classic ‘Reece’ bass-line. Completing the record is a ‘broken’ version of ‘Aphid Riot’ highlighting an ethereal tonal melody with a deeper and more introspective take on the original. It’s a new sound exploration from the producer, demonstrating his versatility and perhaps a rare moment in his discography.
