Keepsakes returns to Perc Trax for his first full EP for the label,following his appearance on the 'Forever 2' various artists release back in 2020.
On 'Rant 4 Cash' James Barrett (aka Keepsakes) turns his attention to the lies and fakery of the current dance music scene, with lead track 'Scene Analysis' refusing to hold back when it comes to calling out the issues facing today's techno scene. A deep Green Velvet style vocal floats over a swinging junkyard percussion groove to drive the original mix forwards.
Label boss man Perc can't resist remixing such a memorable vocal track and swaps the swinging groove of the original with a pounding kick heavy rhythm to add even more intensity to the raw rage of the original mix.
Flip the record over and the B-side serves up another two punchy groove based tracks, pairing Keepsakes' unique brand of swinging percussion with cut up vocal shouts and grinding synth lines. B1 track 'Industry Anthem' repeats and warps the word 'money' as an extension of the cash grab call out of 'Scene Analysis' whist closing track 'Prey For Hype' uses other-worldly robotic vocal shouts over a tough kick led groove to finish the EP on an energetic high. Perc Trax hits 100 releases with Perc returning with his first album in seven years. 'The Cut Off' is Perc's fourth album following 'Wicker & Steel' (2011), 'The Power & The Glory' (2014) and Perc Trax's best ever selling release 'Bitter Music' (2017).
'The Cut Off' see's Perc deliver his most dance floor focused album to date, serving up enough energy to keep contemporary dance floors moving, whilst avoiding both the cliched 90's throwback hard techno formula that is dominant right now and the stuckist 'real techno' blueprints that are still endlessly regurgitated having been established over 30 years ago.
Across the album Perc's well established industrial credentials collide with giant sized synth riffs, driving acid lines (a first for a Perc album) and all manner of drones, choral performances, urban textures and even a dentist's drill (on 'Static'). Gliding arpeggios and slow moving melodic lines feature more on this album than ever before without dulling the sharp edges of Perc's music.
'The Cut Off' more than any previous Perc long player is an album that focuses on the club, the dancer and the dance floor. Yes, there are moments of respite between the classic Perc percussive workouts, but they are far outnumbered by the varied collection of club tracks that come at the listener from every angle.
Collaborations include Sissel Wincent, a regular collaborator with Peder Mannerfelt. Perc remixed Peder & Sissel's 'Sissel &Bass' track to great effect in 2019 and now Sissel returns the
favour appearing on 'Static', the album's only full vocal track. Also collaborating with Perc is EAS, one of America's fastest rising techno artists who delivers the raw acid lines that power album highlight 'Cold Snap'. Finally London based metal vocalist Leandro Bastos adds his abrasive vocal tones to 'Imperial Leather', the first single to be taken from 'The Cut Off'.
The 'Cut Off' was recorded in Perc's own studio and mixed by Perc at Map Studios in London. The album was mastered by Matt Colton at Metropolis Studios. Album design was handled by Lucas Grassmay, who previously worked on I Hate Models' debut album on Perc Trax in 2019. The album will be supported a run of dates around the world where Perc will be performing a special live set based around the album as well as his infamous DJ sets. More

Somniac One returns to Perc Trax after her breakout Perc Trax hit 'Junkyard Shift' was featured on the Perc Trax Forever 3 VA release at the end of 2022.

Originally hailing from Lithuania, but currently residing in the Netherlands Somniac One perfectly bridges the gap between modern high intensity techno and the production intricacies of the European hardcore scene. Across the three tracks that make up 'I Hope This EP Finds You Well' Somniac One demonstrates her razor sharp production skills and firm grasp of dance floor dynamics, with each track growing more and more powerful as the EP progresses.

Opener 'Instigator' breaks down to a unforgettable buzz saw breakdown before the beats come hurtling back, 'Infiltrator' adds a touch of drama to the EP with soft pad chords gliding across the middle of the track and closer ' Buzz Pollinator' takes the BPM's higher with its driving arpeggios pushing the track forward rounding off the EP breathlessly. More

Originally released as part of Perc's Greed Dance 12" in late 2021 Resistor has since taken on a life of it's own, receiving plays & support from I Hate Models, Randomer, Somniac One, Cera Khin, Umwelt, New Frames, Cassie Raptor, Ghost In The Machine and of course Perc himself. Now Resistor returns with three brand new remixes, each taking the original mix to entirely new places.

First up is UK underground hero and Skuxx Records main man Tassid delivering a festival slaying slice of sub heavy UK techno which has been Perc's closing track at his gigs, including at Awakenings in April, from the moment he heard it. Next Jensen Interceptor takes a completely differed approach dropping subtle elements of the original mix of 'Resistor' and a sprinkling of science fiction samples over a hard jackin' groove sitting perfectly between techno and electro.

Finally Berlin based Wallis, shows why she is leading the new school of French producers with a gritty industrial groove, with just the slightest hint of 'Resistor's infamous lead lines breaking through the dirt, to round off a diverse, yet satisfying remix collection. More

Scotland's hardest of the hardcore Clouds make a surprise return to Perc Trax with Clubmatter, their first appearance on the label since they remixed Perc's 'Dumpster' back in 2014 with Perc returning the favour to remix Clouds' Dread Networks' on Perc Trax in the same year.

Since then they have been busy performing across the globe, collaborating with Randomer on their uncompromising Headstrong project, founding their own Maxiboy imprint and pairing up with Speedy J for a release on his Stoor label.

Across these four tracks Clouds find a perfect balance between rave energy and sleek techno futurism. The rave sounds we all know well are there, but this isn't the same old vocal samples, hoovers and breakbeats we've heard a million times. Instead Cloud resynthesise the spirit of rave and hardcore, fuse it with their techno background and deliver something fresh and new but still fitting into the lineage of hardcore that goes back to the 1990's.

As ever with a Clouds release the visual side is as sharp as the music and the Raf Rennie designed sleeve of Clubmatter keeps this tradition going with a sharp monochrome interpretation of Cloud's musical vision. More

Release Info:
Originally given a digital-only, Bandcamp-only release back in the summer of 2016 RVDE's '90s Hammer' has become a sleeper hit, slowly but surely growing through word of mouth, YouTube plays and DJ support. Now Perc Trax has licensed it from its original home T/W/B, added two brand new remixes and given it the vinyl release it always deserved as the label's final release of 2019.
It all starts with the original mix, a whirlwind of heavy kicks, triplet synths and gangster shout-outs. Heavy music isn't often as hook laden as this and you can see why Perc has been a huge fan of the track since its original release. Next up Perc Trax welcome's Slovakian legend DJ Boss to the label for the first time. Boss is already a hero to many Perc Trax artists including Sawf and Perc and as usual he doesn't disappoint with a sub-heavy rolling 4/4 mix.
Flip it over and up steps Perc for the second of the new remixes. The Perc Trax boss pulls no punches as he adds gun shots and his trademark slicing snares to an explosive arrangement that has been a highlight of his sets around the world since summer. Finally Anthro's excellent remix from the original T/W/B release completes this four track 12". The noisiest and grimiest of all the mixes on show here, it rounds off one of Perc Trax's most solid pieces of vinyl in a long time. More

Perc returns to Perc Trax for his first original release of 2020 and his first full EP since 'Three Tracks To Send To Your Ghost Producer' was released back in March 2019. 'Fire In Negative' includes three tracks adapted from his live set at Reaktor's Unpolished event in Amsterdam earlier of this year, plus another completed directly after that set when the atmosphere and energy of that event was still fresh in his mind.

Title track and opener 'Fire In Negative' fuses crushing kicks with covert art gallery recordings and the crackling flames of the title, topped off with Ventolin-esque sine tones. Another statement track from Perc, sidestepping the current trend for rave revivalism whilst matching its energy toe to toe.

'E Mono' is a classic Perc drum track, skipping big builds for an unexpected switch in the middle section, whilst 'Snare' goes in the opposite direction, breaking down into two minutes of abrasive feedback before finally kicking back in. More

Ghost In The Machine make their long awaited return to Perc Trax with their first full release for the label since their debut album 'Breaking The Seal' was unleashed at the start of 2020. Since then they've released multiple EPs on their own Genosha Basic label, remixed Marc Acardipane, Dahryl and Torque and given their remix of Paula Temple the vinyl release it always deserved. As DJs they have toured Europe and South America, tearing down dance floors with their powerful kick driven sound. From small intimate clubs to huge festival stages their depth of musical knowledge and razor sharp mixing have made them the highlight of any line-up.

For this first Perc Trax release of 2023 Ghost In The Machine take their sound and production to the next level. EP opener 'Come One' is a tour de force of giant kick drums, distorted breakbeats and the kind of drops most techno acts can only dream of. 'Ensnared' takes a more groove based approach with rolling snares over a classic Ghost In The Machine kick assault. Lastly 'Break' gives us a chance to breathe (at least in comparison to the first two tracks) with droning tones layered over an assortment of classic drum breaks brought up to date by Ghost In The Machine's untouchable production skills. Marc Acardipane's Pitch-Hiker, originally released under Marc's Pilldriver alias, is without doubt one of the foundation tracks of European hardcore. From the moment it was released in 1995 it caused shockwaves with its stripped down, kick drum focused approach. Gone were the hoovers, sirens, breakbeats and vocal samples of that era's hardcore and instead a stark new minimalism emerged, focusing equally on the kick drum itself and the negative space and air around it.

Like all groundbreaking records it was soon followed by an endless stream of unofficial rip-offs, re-edits and remixes, none of which got close to the perfection of Marc's original. Now for the first time Pitch-Hiker gets officially remixed showing the level of trust Marc has in Perc Trax and Perc's own affection for PitchHiker and for Marc's enduring legacy as an electronic music innovator.

First up is Marc himself with his own take on his classic. Keeping the distinctive reverb soaked kick hits of his 1995 original mix he adds dive-bombing synths and scything hi-hats to increase the energy of the original mix without losing any of its dark charm.

Next label boss Perc adds more weight to the original's unmistakable kick drums, slowly building up the tension until his remix drops into the kind of noise assault not heard on Perc Trax since Tymon's devastating remix of Perc's own 'Hyperlink'. Kick drum specialists Ghost In The Machine step up next and work the original mixes' warping kick drums to the max. Updating and strengthening the track perfectly whilst keeping the sense of space that gave the original mix so much character.

Finally Sissel Wincent and Peder Mannerfelt team up for their Perc Trax debut following on from Perc's remix of 'Sissel & Bass' back in 2019. Flipping the script completely Sissel & Peder add multiple vocal hooks and fuse the original mix's 4/4 kick with half-speed broken beat rhythms to serve up a very different, but still successful interpretation of the original mix. Perc Trax's scene leading Forever series returns for its third instalment. Taking a more curated approach to your typical 'release 30 random tracks and see what sticks' approach of most VA projects, the Forever series keeps the track count tight and the quality control even tighter. Featuring four artists new to Perc Trax plus new material from label regulars Perc and EAS, Forever 3 is essential as a summary of where both Perc Trax and the wider techno scene are at right now.

Opening up proceedings is Somniac One, making her Perc Trax debut after well received releases on RAW, Ghostly International, PRSPCT and her own newly launched Somniverse label. 'Junkyard Shift' is everything you'd expect from Somniac One on Perc Trax, huge kicks, hardcore synths and just the right amount of dance floor drama. Next up another Perc Trax Exos debutant, well known for his releases on Trip, Symbolism, Force Inc and more serves up something from the rougher extremes of his musical range with 'Warlion' a 4/4 stomper relying on swooping synths to drive the track forward.

On the B-side Perc collaborates with new Perc Trax signing Million on 'Rotopod'. Working together for the first time the newcomer influence pushes Perc's sound to a faster, more aggressive place. Closing the vinyl is 'Ryu Acid' by Perc Trax regular EAS, an acid fuelled monster that has been a highlight of Perc's sets for over a year now. More

Release Note:
Perc returns to Perc Trax with 'Dirt', one of his most raw and uncompromising works to date. Across three versions of the track, one remixed in collaboration with rising US star EAS, Perc fuses together dry looped techno with caustic industrial sounds and just a splash of rave euphoria.

Opening up the release is the original mix of 'Dirt' layering searing top end percussion over cropped breakbeats before dropping unexpectedly to an unmistakable classic piano riff. The riff has been completely replayed and reproduced rather than sampled and provides the kind of sudden jolt that Perc's productions are famous for.

On the B-side Perc teams up with Los Angeles DJ and producer EAS who returns to the label for the first time since his devastating remix of Perc's own 'Dumpster' in early 2021. Perc provides the beats and EAS serves up the 303 lines, as the hedonism of the original mix's piano drop is swapped for a screw faced slice of warehouse acid.

Rounding off the release is Perc's own 'Crowd Mix' which focuses on the beats with additional layers of percussion and atmospheric crowd samples filling the space taken by the piano hook and acid lines of the first two mixes.

'Dirt' will be released as a hand-stamped white label release in a stickered black paper sleeve. The release was mastered by regular Perc Trax mastering engineer Matt Colton at Metropolis studios with Adult Art Club handling visual presentation and design. More

Scalameriya returns to Perc Trax with the most definitive statement of his highly individual sound to date. Now 'Aeon Core' is upon us and sees Scalameriya extend his sound across 11 immaculately produced tracks showcasing a cybernetic, synthetic techno sound that still has a warm heart at its core. From the tough beats and warped vocals of 'Kiti Kimera' to the collapsing synth riffs of 'Elder Venus' to the punishing closing statement that is 'Warbeast' a track pushing up the Scalameriya BPM like never before, this is an album than perfectly balances intricacy, rhythm and power. As with the last two Scalameriya EPs on Perc Trax the source illustration is an exclusive commissioned work by New Tasty with all editions of the album put together by Perc Trax design hero Adult Art Club. Release Note:
Perc returns to Perc Trax with an EP designed to capture the energy and chaos of rave without relying on the same classic sounds that have been in constant use since the early 90's. 'Greed Dance' is Perc's first full EP in 14 months, following 'Fire In Negative' on Perc Trax back in September 2020. Since then Perc has pushed through lockdown with an intense production regime resulting in tracks being signed to Lebendig, Possession, RAW and Rote Sonne, as well as this EP for Perc Trax.

Originally started at Christmas last year, lead track 'Greed Dance' started life as an anger fueled full vocal track aimed squarely at the hypocrisy of certain sections of the dance music industry, but over time has been stripped down to a tight rhythm track with sparse vocal elements reflecting a change of mood as the UK's clubs and events were finally allowed to open again this summer.

B1 ' Resistor' takes a similar approach as previous Perc release 'Toxic NRG', looking to squeeze maximum dance floor drama out of a small group of continually tweaked sounds. Finally B2 track '240 Volts' layers rapid fire organ arpeggios over a rock solid kick & bass foundation to create something fresh for both Perc and techno in general.

'Greed Dance' will be released on limited edition cola bottle green 12" vinyl, packaged in a full colour double-sided sleeve designed by regular Perc Trax design crew Adult Art Club. The EP was written & produced by Perc at his home studio and mixed down by Perc at MAP Studios in London. The EP was

Manni Dee returns to Perc Trax for the release of 'A Low Level Love', his second full album following on from 'The Residue' released in 2018 by Berlin techno institution Tresor. Manni opened his Perc Trax account back in 2017 with his 'Throbs Of Discontent' 12" which featured his breakout hit 'London Isn't England' and since then he's become Perc Trax regular releasing his recent 'Everyone's Replaceable Now' 12" plus his 'Gulabi Gang' contribution to first of the 'Forever' various artists series. During this time Manni has gone from a cult UK favourite to being internationally recognised, performing all around the world.

On 'A Low Level Love' Manni expands on both his previous album and his recent run of Perc Trax releases, mixing his trademark club techno rhythms with broken beat and non-dance floor outings. 'No More Heroes' and 'You Don't Always Get What You Want' see Manni at his most melodic and introspective, whilst the storm of kick drums on 'Closer' shows a new intensity and aggression to Manni's music even when compared to the heaviest of his previous releases.

Guest slots and collaborations can often detract from the artistic vision of an album, but Manni chooses his co-conspirators well, with vocalist Sylph adding a human element to album opener 'Persist & Change' and London acid techno legend Chris Liberator providing both vocals and some of the inspiration for club hit in waiting 'London In My System'.

Perc Trax unleashes its first release of 2021 with the latest in its white label remix series which has already given us Tymon's thunderous remix of Perc's Hyperlink and the diverse remixes of RVDE's 90s Hammer. For this instalment Perc Trax favourites Ghost In The Machine, Scalameriya and Furfriend team up with debutant EAS and label boss Perc for three remixes that aim directly at the dance floor.

First up Perc shows his love of working with vocals taking a firm grip of Furfriend's infamous 'Fist Fuck' to serve up a sweaty 4/4 pounder.

Next Scalameriya moulds 'Zero', one of the highlights from Ghost In The Machines 2020 debut album, into a showcase of sound design and raw kick drum efficiency.

Lastly LA's EAS updates 'Dumpster' from Perc's breakout 2014 album 'The Power & The Glory', opening his Perc Trax account with a hard driving remix that has already been a key part of Perc's pre pandemic sets around the world. More

From the mid 90's until the present day The Advent (Cisco Ferreira) has been a constant inspiration and influence on Perc & Perc Trax, from early albums such as Elements of Life and it's all-star remix album Shaded Elementz to a seminal collection ofremixes for New Order and a recent resurgence with releases on Klockworks, Cultivated Electronics and Cisco's own Kombination Research imprint.

Now The Advent debuts on Perc Trax with three tracks of classic mid-90's UK machine funk. 4/4 kicks overlaid with
rushing rhythm patterns and filtered vocal hooks. From the deep grooves of Scorched and the drum machine workout of Night Shade through to the jabbing groove of Planting Seeds this release is both a trip back into one of the many golden ages of UK techno and also a way for Perc Trax to pay homage to one of it's heroes. When picturing the German techno scene, one likely imagines the concrete monoliths of its capital city Berlin rather than the vineyards and valleys of the enchanting city of Stuttgart in the southwest. But small cities lack the oversaturation and noise of the metropolis, allowing them to develop their own inspired and distinctive subcultural visions. Stuttgart’s David Löhlein exemplifies this potential, manifesting a singular style of sight and sound through his Vision Ektase project and residency at Lehmann Club. Now, Löhlein’s warm-blooded techno is slinking, slithering and seducing its way through BNR, with the upcoming Hotel Pool EP release.

There’s no hesitation before plunging into the EP’s titular track, with its rushing fingered basslines and rolling polyrhythms. Löhlein cites solo travels in Columbia as the source of his Latin influences, and one hears them throughout “Hotel Pool” in vocal and percussive samples. Elements more commonly found in Latin and tribal house feel uncommonly fresh once Löhlein recontextualizes them within a 144 bpm techno foundation. The words “groovy” and “sexy” are usually reserved for the stuff of Buddha Bar compilations, but “Hotel Pool” is exhilarating because it serves both of the former and none of the latter.

A stream of hedonism flows beneath all of the four-tracker, but if the opener is erotic, A2 “La Piscina” is psychedelic. The bass flutters like a mescaline come-up, as infinite loops of chattering voices and deep bamboo pipe notes mesmerize. Again, Löhlein takes certain genre tropes - in this case from psytrance - and transposes them through his own stylistic signature with thrilling results. Ask Löhlein if he likes psytrance and the answer might be “Yes, when it’s techno.”

Leading the flip, “Cuando Vengas” heats up around a dark and sticky loop of ambiguous, organic origin. Here Löhlein’s masterful sample and drum programming is clearly on display, with vocal chops and subtle rhythmic variations leading the dancefloor to shivering bliss. The EP closes with “I Just Want,” a sparse, cold, and bitcrushed stalker of a track that seems to answer Baudrillard’s famed question “What are you doing after the orgy?” That the Hotel Pool EP’s wild romp ends in the Berlin oeuvre perhaps proves the city’s primacy in the German techno scene, but after a few listens one begins to wonder what rare pleasures they’ve been missing in David Löhlein’s Stuttgart. More

Conundrum Records is back for its third installment, presenting the sophmore release from label head Stephen Disario. The "When They Fall EP" showcases three original tracks alongside an exceptional remix by SYXT/Glukkon Records boss, Ketch. A long-standing and respected figure within the lively Los Angeles music scene, Stephen's signature stripped-back and pulsating sound takes center stage right from the outset. This EP further solidifies the burgeoning label's reputation as a distinguished hub for top-tier techno.

Starting things off is "Filling The Void", a moody and otherworldly track with a rolling groove and sharp percussion. The echoing, almost chant-like pads wrap you in a mysterious atmosphere, creating a sense of curiosity and anticipation.

The title track, "When They Fall", takes a more lively direction, driven by rhythmic percussion and spacey blips, along with a swelling bassline that adds extra depth and movement.

The B side of the EP features Ketch's remix of "Sixth Sense", where urgent percussive elements blend over a steady low-end foundation, guided by a strong kick drum that pushes the track forward with unwavering determination.

Bringing the release to a powerful conclusion is the original track "Sixth Sense", in which Stephen increases the energy, skillfully using ride cymbals and on-beat claps to highlight moments of high intensity. Dingo Tush & Das Uberdog have awakened from their well-deserved hibernation and are itching to tell you all about the sweet dreams they had. Dreams that they thought would be best told in a trilogy of earworms which would eventually feed on your brain.

When the news of their awakening broke out, Void+1 Laboratories, against better judgement, made it their mission to log the dreams from these mythical beasts. Regretfully, they did not anticipate that the celestial voice of Dingo Tush could infect the minds of all of their employees and cause a chain reaction that would in matter of days make a whole universe sing in unison for eternity. Although V+1 did learn a valuable lesson (not really), that universe had to be "abandoned" and the exit-point plugged (to answer the question that just popped up in your mind: yes).

After applying Das Uberdog's custom-built, quantum censorship filters (totally not sci-fi gibberish, foogle it) to the original recordings, they were modified into 3 interdimensional, techno megahits that are now safe to be presented to the public (As far as we know... But don't worry, plugs in all sizes are ready for just in case). More
