Iceland’s Volruptus returns to Bjarki’s bbbbbb with five esoteric cuts titled ‘Alien Agenda’. Releasing on bbbbbb at the end of last year, Volruptus has emerged swiftly on the European party scene, with the Icelandic artist popping up on line-ups all over the continent. Following releases by Norway’s EOD and fellow Icelandic talent, Lord Pusswhip, ‘Alien Agenda’ is bbbbbb’s third record of the year - continuing Bjarki’s progressive tastes for innovative electronic Scandinavian artists. First up, ‘svi´nasti´a 3000’ deploys a synthetic, fast-pitched techno revolver fused with space- induced, twisted modulations. A scratch tool titled ‘Itchy and Scratchy Show’ follows before launching into ‘Su´rmatur’ - a celestial 303 synth line layered over scattered electro drums, together providing a magical transcendental experience. ‘Alien Agenda’ is suitably an eccentric, IDM tinged number – with shades of acid and powerful bass shrills becoming the focus here. Last up, ‘Misanthropgy (Dark Sto¨ff)’ provides an energetic rolling percussive loop, intensifying naturally through cryptic, high-pitched melodies. More

The five-track EP features three original productions by SALOME and two remixes by Manni Dee and Umwelt, ready to short-circuit your system. SALOME masterfully blends delicate melodies with thunderous breakbeats, mirroring the tumultuous nature of love. "Hacker" (A1) pulsates with the mantra "You hacked my mind", a stark reminder that falling head over heels often means surrendering control. "Romance Malfunction" (A2) paints a vivid picture of the exhilarating highs and crashing lows of a rollercoaster relationship, ultimately leading to the introspective "Love Leaked" (A3). Seeking diverse interpretations, SALOME enlisted two of her most admired artists, Manni Dee (B1) and Umwelt (B2), to deliver their unique takes on "Hacker", further enriching the emotional landscape of the eponymous EP.

After two years since the first release, Herrensauna sets the tone of their label in this second release presenting music by 8 bold underground talents. ?The first record includes tracks by the New Yorker producer Isabella (Koen), Kenyan DJ and producer, and part of the Nyege Nyege collective Slikback on the A side, Californian producer Nebuchadnezzar as well as the Chicago / Berliner duo God69, on the B side. The second record includes firstly two exclusive remixes: C1 with the Colombian producer Verraco remixing Merino, and C2 with an iconic Dj Stingray remix from the new in-house Georgian resident Salome. On the last side of this record we finish with Dj Loser + Malafama from Greece and last but never least ZVRRA from Illinois. Hard driving bounces, drilling offbeats, dreamy and eerie soundscapes and sweaty breaks challenge this release. During the last 5 years Herrensauna has become one of the most esteemed spaces of Berlin's queer underground. Showcasing a sound between experimental sonics and heavy techno in an open and intimate club setting, the collective has launched a batch with some of the most influential artists of the new generation of techno such as residents SPFDJ, Hector Oaks and co-founders CEM and MCMLXXXV. With Tresor as their main home on a monthly basis, they have expanded their vision internationally with showcases at clubs around Europe and key appearances on Boiler Room as well as an upcoming Herrensauna Takeover with the 4 residents B2B to close the UFO1 stage of Dekmantel 2021.

Now Herrensauna are set to kick off their record label presenting music by the underground talents they have been supporting in a series of vinyl EPs. The first installment includes tracks by in-house resident Cadency aka Hector Oaks, Copenhagen's Fast Forward member Sugar on the A side, and the duo of Peder Mannerfelt & Par Grindvik aka Aasthma featuring London's Dale Cornish as well as Historical Repeater, the collaborative project of Copenhagen-based producers Ctrls and Solid Blake, on the B side. While on artwork duties is Berlin-via-Porto multidisciplinary artist Mauro Ventura who will create a painting for each release. More
