For this next chapter of Oliver Dollar’s ‘Contemporary’, elements of Dub serve as the unifying thread, opening part four with ‘Speakers Bleed’, a jazz-in?ected House cut from Oliver and Classic Music Company and Ninja Tune artist Seven ‘Sev’ Davis Jr. Hypnotic vocals swirl through deep, groove-laden rhythms, setting the tone for the EP’s ?uid, atmospheric feel before Oliver reunites with Golden Gate club resident and long-time collaborator Nils Ohrmann for the Hallelujah Dub of ‘The New Is Here’. The track features the soulful voice of Detroit songwriter and Contemporary series regular APROPOS while gospel-tinged background vocals and rich textures sit over an infectious percussive rhythm. On the ?ip, Oliver Dollar & Brillstein’s ‘Pill Popper’ from Contemporary Part Two is reworked by La Boix, the duo of LA”s Thee Mike B (aka Brillstein) and producer Salva, whose credits include work with RL Grime, Kurupt, E-40, and the Grammy-nominated album of ScHoolboy Q, as well as remixes for Rihanna, Boys Noize and Nelly Furtado. Their version is a late-night, low-slung trip, with echoing keys and vocals drifting through deep basslines. Closing the EP, Seven Davis Jr. returns for a dub of ‘Before You’, Oliver’s collaboration with ADMN from Contemporary Part One. laid-back, live-band feel that harks back to their See You When You Get There era.

Inside, bold yellow and red GMUND card stock inner sleeves with embossed detailing reflect the label's long-standing commitment to design, artistry, and collectability. Record One kicks off with a certified Classic family affair. Home & Garden's 'Sexuality...He's 2 Young' features the unmistakable voice of DJ Colette, a staple of Classic's early era. Included here is JT Donaldson's Porno Beat Down Remix-a stripped, low-slung rework with an irresistibly funky bass line and pure dance floor chemistry. Brett Johnson's 'Jiffy Pop', from his legendary Bounce! EP, follows up with a jittery, swaggering groove that epitomises Brett's playful, funk-laced production style. Infectious, weird, and entirely unforgettable. On the flip, Tiefschwarz's 'Acid Soul' delivers a moody, muscular roller. Originally released during their prolific run on Classic in the early 2000s, it fuses baritone sax stabs, a Berlin-borne bass line, and a sultry vocal into a deeply spiritual house cut. Roy Davis Jr. closes Side B with the propulsive 'About Love' (Solid Groove Remix)-a tough and driving interpretation by Dave Taylor that's long been a DJ favourite in the Classic vaults. Record Two showcases Classic's more recent sonic evolutions. JT Donaldson's return to the label in 2019 came with 'Stay Inside', a rich and breezy groove featuring the soulful voice of Liv.e. It's an elegant and understated slice of modern house with timeless appeal. Then comes Dam Swindle's funk-charged 'Hey Mister'. A punchy, bass-driven jam built around a 70s reggae-disco vocal sample. Raw and infectious, it's been lighting up dance floors worldwide since its release. Luke Solomon's catalogue on Classic is vast, but 'Come on Over', his collaboration with Amp Fiddler, earns its place here. Seeing vinyl release for the first time, this cut overflows with musicality. Following the release of his fifth studio album ‘Magickal’ at the start of the year, Damian Lazarus now opens a new chapter in the project’s evolution with ‘Magickal Remixed (Part I)’, this first instalment of the two-part series features bold reimagining’s from Harry Romero, Jonathan Kaspar, THEMBA and Mëstiza, offering four fresh takes on standout cuts from the acclaimed long-player. The package opens with Harry Romero’s ‘Raw Dog’ remix of ‘R U Dreaming?’, originally a deeply introspective cut featuring Canadian maestro Mathew Jonson. Here, the New York favourite dials up the low-end pressure and rhythmic weight, bringing raw tribal energy and heavyweight swing to the original’s dreamlike tones. Jonathan Kaspar’s ‘Sunrise Remix’ of ‘Falling Down’, Lazarus’ collaboration with TEED and A-Trak, comes next. Channelling radiant euphoria through rising pads and sweeping melodic phrasing, it leans into the emotional intensity of the original while transforming it into a full-blown moment of sunrise transcendence. On the B Side THEMBA delivers striking remix of Damian Lazarus and Jem Cooke’s ‘Searchin’. HEMBA’s remix builds on that foundation and takes it into expansive, Afro-infused club territory, layering hypnotic percussion, deep rolling grooves, and subtle atmospheric shifts that heighten the emotion and push the track into new late-night spaces. Closing out the release, Spanish duo Mëstiza return to reinterpret their collaboration with the Crosstown head honcho, ‘La Hija De Juan Simón’. Expanding on the track’s flamenco-inspired roots, they layer hand-played percussion, haunting vocal flourishes, and dense atmospheres into a hypnotic, slow-burning groove, bridging folklore and futurism in their unmistakable style.
