Devoted to the art of movement is the first record from NSS (No spiritual surrender) a duo formed by J.C. (AHD co-owner together with Damian Schwartz) and Kastil This E.P. centers it's attention towards electro, but continue AHD's heritage of giving a twist to those 90s sounds that influenced us so much, from early IDM to Detroit, all is present here. The opening track is is the one that gives the EP it's name, an acid stomper build around an electro beat that builds up and down fiercely. The track maintains it's tension throughout it's whole length by building strings and arpeggios over it's acid sequence, never transferring it's beat to a straight kick, capturing the attention since it's first second. 'Proposed Playground' is build around a more steady electro beat, strings and sounds merge themselves around the beat to create a beautifully hypnotic piece where where some background melodies tickle our ears bringing memories from IDM golden years. 'Zero One' is closing track, without leaving the electro rhythms the defined the whole EP the track is build around a phrenetic synth sequence that sets the path for the whole length, rhythms are rough and strong and it's syncopated hitting adds emphasis on that frenzy atmosphere since it's first second till the last.

A Harmless deed release number 8 brings the third installement from Epiphany, a record we are really excited about. From the ever evolving and soul infused acid of "Let the boy be" where everything sits over a deep and rhythmic chord progression, to the noisy deepness and jam feel of "Player", or the weirdly addictive groove of "on the run" where snares and pads find their way over a jazzy melody, "Last Gasp" proves itself to be Epiphany's strongest release to date, a record that radiates energy and futurism.

Spain's A Harmless Deed label is proud to announce the release of its first artist album. It comes from family member Flavio Tortora, aka Spanish DJ and producer DJ F, who up to now has also produced a sleek brand of airy dub techno and house on labels like Freebeat, Frigio and Semantica. Drawing on everything from lo-fi Detroit techno to vintage electro, over the years DJ F has proved to be an ever-evolving talent who keeps himself to himself but whose music is always full of freshness. It's the same story with his pithy debut album, 1974, due for release in Spring 2014, which covers plenty of ground across its six sumptuous tracks. 'Lightyear' is a slow burning bit of experimental dub with muted chords, sinewy synth lines and itchy percussion. Its plump and set in a deep groove that slowly consumes your whole being.‘Peaceful Mind’is then a whacked out bit of dusty old electro with Legowelt style mysticism imbued within a trippy beat. It's multi-layered stuff that really drags you right into its core before 'Subconscient' picks up the pace. It's a gliding, surfing bit of house music with celestial melodies up top, shuffling drums and icy hi hats below and plenty of deep intentions. The widescreen synths make it as cerebral as it is subtly physical and there's so much space in the track you really feel like you are bathing in it. ‘Cerca’is more playful and experimental, with a jostling, freewheeling beat structure it's riddled with weird melodies, malfunctioning synths and plenty of shiny, reflective surfaces. There's plenty of colour in it, too, and it's the sort of late night head track that really makes dancefloors get freaky.‘Primavera en Kyoto’is again melodically unsettling with haunting little keys raining down the face of the track. Rattling metal chords flesh out the beat and final track‘Control’again stretches out into a spacious, serene groove that reminds of Detroit's finest at the same time as looking to the future. This is an album that will not only make you dance, but will stir all sorts of emotions deep down inside of you, and testament to the range of DJ F as a producer is that plenty of ground is covered without any of it ever sounding forced.

New York's borned and raised Fred Peterkin needs no introduction to the electronic music world. Having released on labels like Underground Quality, Strength Music, Mule Electronic and his own Soul People Music, AHD welcomes him after being fans of his music for years already and this EP is no exception to his extreme and unique quality. "Reach" on the A side is a total dancefloor burner. One of the best tracks we've heard lately. Keeps building from start to the end, having the peaking point when the arpeggio comes up fading in at the middle of the track. B side, "In the blue", is the deep cut of the record and its a perfect example of Freds dubby and warm feeling. Check it out!

Transformación is the first in a long series of collaborations between Madrid's artist DJ F and AHD Records. Highly influenced by the 90's sounds of detroit like Drexciya, or Atkins DJ F comes up with this beautiful piece of art. Based on somehow "lo-fi" and edgy drums, F develops three outstanding tracks. Transformacion is a Slow Mo' techno track which constantly evolutes in new sounds and forms that evokes us to beautiful passages. Full of layers and melodies, the track soon transforms itself into a mutating animal who shows us how beautiful and raw techno could be. Preludio "prelude" in english is just that, a piece to hear in between this two tracks, a beautiful passage of pads and melodies that once again shows that DJ F has something very special to offer True Love goes to a more straight forward form of techno, or at least that's what it looks like at the beginning. But what it seems to be a rather simple arrange soon becomes full and rich in details, developing all the time to reach a point in which the track stop itself to breath, and starts over from an exciting and new path which quickly merges to all what it left behind.

Known for his releases on Hamilton Dance and On the Prowl Party Breaks, Marcos Cabral comes from Brooklyn, New York, and needs no introduction for the house music lovers... After been fascinated with his work, we decided to approach Marcos to try to join him on our new project, A Harmless Deed, because we thought it was exactly the type of artist and music we were looking for and when we recieved the demo we were not let down at all. Land of Tar EP is a mixture of oldschool sounds with a modern and personal point of view. On the A side we can find "Pitch Lake", our favourite track on the package. Already tested and probed to be working perfectly on the dancefloor, it yet has a deep, weird and beautiful touch. B side is more classic chicago influenced, on the old Mr Fingers type, 707, synthy melodies, pads and strings... Must have!

Epiphany is Damian Schwartz's new moniker, created to give home to his most twisted and raw stuff. The first release in this new AHD imprint is all about raw, dirty and spiritual sounds. Created and mixed on the analog domain and recorded to 1/4” tape, “A ghost of myself” could be considered as a mix of Schwartz´s biggest influences, from 90s NY house to Detroit techno and Chicago sounds, all processed through Damian´s own style, resulting on a dope release based around strong rhythms, mystic sounds and rough yet fine progressions. A1 “A ghost of myself” consists on a rough and raw drum beat being hit by syncopated snares and crash cymbals. The juicy acid bass line goes on and on over the beat opening and closing, while some heavy flanged chords appear and disappear over the evolution of the track. A deep string pad plays from time to time, putting together the rawness and dirtiness of the beat with the flanged chords, creating a spiritual link between both. B1 “Out of being” could be defined as a house track, yet it's not exactly that. A pad processed through a vocoder filterbank goes over the entire track, giving it a slightly deep approach, synth chords and arpeggios appear and disappear softly over a heavy distorted kick and effected beat, while a motion sequenced pad gives the whole track some kind of outer space or mystic feeling. B2 “Through your ears” is basically a different take on B1's. The track is conformed around the same elements with some exceptions. A vocoder recorded voice goes on and on, the bass line now describes a deep and melodic riff, while some dubby chords are in charge of giving air over this rarefied atmosphere.
