Terry Cummingz - Cherry Bon Bon
Iceland's Thule offshoot label 66 Degrees was a vital label back in the day. After a 20-year hiatus, it came back strong in August and now follows up quickly with a second superb EP. This one is a carefully curated various artists collection that pulls together some local house anthems new and old. Ozy's 'Sequential Dub' is a super smooth deep house number with lush chord work. Sanasol brings heavier, more raw house drums and grinding bass that will get floors in a sweat. Oz Artists mixes up a raw, mechanical groove with balmy, dreamy pads up top to make for something utterly compelling on 'Atomox; while last of all Terry Cummingz pays homage to dusty Windy City house on his perfectly lo-fi 'Cherry Bon Bon. Classy business for sure.

Three of the major pedestals in the Icelandic techno scene gave birth to a classic Thule release in 1997. This collaboration between Sanasol (Yagya & Thor) & Ozy gave result of an EP, which is considered by many to be one of the finest of the Icelandic techno of that era. Seveneleven is a delicate blend of deep techno and minimalist house music. Enigmatic combination of lush pads, delicate percussions and dubby chords are destined to transport the listeners to an higher unknown state of euphoria. Fans of melodic dub techno will embrace this release as much as it was done 22 years ago - as good music never really grows old. Thule Records is considered by many to be a pioneers in the field of dub-influenced techno music and was a starting point for many of Iceland's most renowned electronic musicians.

sanasol - In The Sky Of Normality
R-Time Records releases two tracks from Iceland’s Sanasol, aka Thor and Yagya, entitled‘Long Lost Thoughts’ - originally appearing on ‘Deep Thoughts’ LP via Hey Babe! in ’97. Out of all of Thor’s aliases, which includes OZ Artists, Flow Machine and Thor54, Sanasol – his duo project alongside Yagya - is arguably the most prolific. On top of appearances on Thor’s own renowned imprint Thule Records, as Sanasol the pair have released on Fear Of Flying, Connaisseur Supérieur and Alex Azary and Pascal F.E.O.S.’s Hey Babe!, of which the latter homed the ‘Deep Thoughts’ album. Matt Edwards’ R-Time now releases two of the long player’s finest tracks, following recent revivals of timeless music by Sir Lord Commix and FBK. ‘Long Lost Thoughts’ begins by utilising filtered chord stabs alongside a thumping bass and sustained strings before the track progresses with ethereal pads combined with resonant bells playing a top line melody. On the flip, ‘In The Sky Of Normality’ presents shuffled drums with crisp hi-hats and a strong low-end whilst delayed synths pan left and right throughout keeping things atmospheric and mesmerising.

Remastered classic release from 1998! Well respected Icelandic label, releasing heavily dub-influenced minimal techno by artists such as Exos, Thor, Octal, Ozy... We have the honour to present you in future some of the best releases re-mastered on vinyl again! The Icelandic electronic musician is a collective animal. He tends to gather in groups. In 1995 with the founding of the label Thule Records the first official herding was confirmed. Icelandic electronic music artists were united under one flag. Though, this particular label was not the first of its kind, they did have a certain agenda of reaching out toward foreign markets – thing rarely been done before in Iceland. The owners of the label bought themselves a cheap and barely functional car outside of London and drove around the city distributing their first release personally – while having to stop the car every 20 minutes to pour water over the engine to prevent it from overheating. That first release became a success and showed that electronic music made in Iceland had much to offer to the European market. Thule Records was a gateway to Europe for many Icelandic artists. A platform of expression for young artists. After almost seven years of activity and about 70 releases the label went on permanent hiatus. It was a starting point for many of Icelands most renowned electronic musicians and is considered to be a pioneer in the field of dub-influenced techno music.

Oh Mama - Laugardalur
After 20 years of a restful sleep, the legendary Icelandic house label has been resurrected. Three deep cuts exhibiting what is in store for the year 2022.
It begins with "Can Ride", a neo-disco anthem from former resident Justin Simmons. Nifty groove with an acid-bassline - topped with all the razzle and dazzle that is needed to get the dancefloor moving.
The flipside starts with a proper minimal percussion-driven groove from Kate & Joan, a side-project of Dole & Kom from the renowned label BCC music. The Detroit-influenced dub house anthem will, without a doubt, be a useful tool for any DJs to get the crowd going.
The second cut on the B-side is from a Reykjavik-based beatmakers Oh Mama. Its wild style sample-based approach caught the label's attention and the result is a worthy debut vinyl release. Hypnotic, sexy and groovy - with a big and dirty bassline.
