For this one on his own superb Scruniversal label he turns his attention to the lush sound world of City Pop over in Japan. On one vital 12" the maestro cooks up six varied but equally vital sizzlers starting with the funky sounds and big brass of 'One For Xsuxsu' then taking in the blissed out disco and house beats of 'Kyoto Sunshine', jazzy keys of 'Horomi & Rikishi', funky bass twangs of 'Secret Dream' and jazz lunge excellence of 'Nippon Bossa' before 'Scrutinised Tune' closes out with brown beats and sunny chords. As if it wasn't enough for them to secure the services of French artist Evenn for the 'One For Love EP', the Selections label has done the double on its ninth release and enlisted none other than Detroit's Javonntte to remix the title track. The original is almost the definition of deep house - gorgeous strings and pads you could almost drown in, a female vocal eased on by an uplifting piano and silky beats reclining at a moderate but insistent pace. Javonntte's mix keeps the vocals intact but chops and changes a little more beatswise and has its head somewhere a little spacier, both in terms of its Mayday-esque bass end bleeps and celestial pads. Kicking off the B-side, 'Inspiration' is more of a hypnotic, looped up affair, as is the speedier and heavier close to proceedings 'Round N Round', making good use of the filter functions and disco vibes from the past.

This is GDWAX001 the debut vinyl release from GLBDOM, featuring four sumptuous, vintage tinged house tracks.

Up first is So Fly by Saint Paul, a soul infused jam with heaps of uplifting vocal samples, organs and synths a plenty, not to mention a subtly jacking beat that steadily bumps the vibe along.

Next up is Keep Me Inside by Yann Polewka, taking things back with that classic house piano buzz. A pounding beat, an understated yet driven bass line, strings, pads and some ecstatic vocals all combine for a truly heavenly touch.

Manuold follows on with Beating Heart, a super catchy deep house number. Melancholic synth stabs and subtly employed vocal samples, luscious pads and that unmistakable house sax sound: Beating Heart is the perfect track for getting the crowd moving.

Finishing the release off are Marc Brauner & David Silver with Gioia, an energetic house tune with an initiable beat and an exquisite bouncing bass line. A soulful, uplifting vibe from start to finish, Gioia is the perfect end to this awesome debut vinyl release.
