Tracklisting:

Release Note:
Running Out of Steam return with their eight release this time from London born, Berlin based DJ and producer Amy Dabbs. The daughter of an original Northern Soul DJ, Amy started her musical journey through a vast collection of Motown records - lending itself to further exploration and inspiring her unique take on electronic music today.
Since her widely acclaimed debut EP on Distant Horizons, Amy has released music on Slothboogie and Lobster Theremin's White label - infusing a classic style at various speeds; from house, jungle and drum & bass. Now, across four tracks, walking basslines and warm sound-design incite feelings of nostalgia, hope and good old-fashioned fun - so let's dance.
'Places' starts things off with it's cascading hi-hats and footstomping kick drums; collectively combining classic stabs with feel-good energy in the form of steamy vocal snippets. 'Flexin' follows through with more hugs on the dance-floor, a track that almost feels like a final ode to summer and embraces you like the friends we waited so long to see.
'Be Yourself' embodies the mantra of doing what you love, a view held deeply by Amy and can be heard running through all of her productions. The melodic elements blossom over beats in an equal exchange of energy, giving birth to a track that makes you feel as if you're exactly where you need to be. 'Rise' then switches from the 4/4 template in favour of slickly programmed breakbeats - while maintaining the essence of classic house, with Amy's own and ever embracing take.

Track list:
A1. Everything alright feat. Aika Mal
A2. Everything alright feat. Aika Mal (Dam Swindle remix)
A3. Eleven eleven twenty two
B1. Crush
B2. Only breaks can love your heart
Release Info:
Amy Dabbs puts her heart and soul in the breaks anthem ‘Everything Alright feat. Aika Mal’ on her Heist debut EP.
Bonus: A tantalizing 140BPM Dam Swindle remix
Amy Dabbs might be one of the hardest working artists in the game right now. Making it in the current electronic music landscape is not an easy thing, which might be why this talented artist is so heavily invested in her musical output. With releases on Aus Music, Shall not Fade and her own Dabbs traxx, a monthly residency on Rinse FM and a tour schedule that seems to get busier by the minute, we’re happy to see her hard work is paying off. Add to that some support by artists such as Special Request, The Blessed Madonna, Jaguar and Cinthie and you know this Berlin-based artist is right where she belongs: in the spotlight.
With a love for all things high energy – including, but not limited to house music and breaks – Amy knows how to set fire to a dancefloor (or record for that matter). Her music has been described by Resident Advisor as “Elegant and soulful drum & bass, that’ll still catch the ears of house heads.” So here you go, house heads: Amy Dabbs on Heist. The ‘Only breaks can love your heart’ EP is packed with feelgood energy and comes with a Dam Swindle remix that has the duo laying down some pleasantly unexpected breakbeats on an altogether rush-inducing record.
Right from the start, you know you’ve got an anthem on your hands with ‘Everything alright’. The gorgeous vocals by Aika Mal give you that right amount of emotive, ravey energy and come wrapped in a package of solid breaks and mesmerizing chords. With a hint of acid and a couple of meticulously crafted breakdowns you’ll be singing along with this track before you know it.
The Dam Swindle remix drops the tempo a little bit, but with its 140 bpm, warm broken beat and UK bass, the duo delivers a curveball of a track with a lot of crossover appeal. They went for a more stripped back approach that combines introverted percussion with bouncy keys that complement the vocals perfectly for an altogether irresistible remix.
‘Crush’ is a signature Amy Dabbs tracks, with driving 909 percussion, female vocal chops, ethereal pads and classic strings. It’s a warmhearted affair laced with Amy’s feelgood DNA. On the flip you’ll find ‘Eleven eleven twenty two’; a classic deep house track with subtle hints of UKG in its sampling and bass. The pads and leads are moody and the skippy percussion gives this track the kind of energy you’d welcome when pulling an all-nighter.
Rounding off the EP, we’ve got the ep title track ‘Only breaks can love your heart’; another showcase of Amy’s knack to make house aficionados dance to drum and bass. There’s a certain contrast in pace – raging drums versus dreamy chords that makes you feel at ease listening to a fast-paced track like this. The vocals are equally hazy with a subtle 90’s and 00’s RnB feel. Bassface guaranteed on this one!
We’re extremely happy we get to call Amy our friend and proud to share her music through Heist. As always, play it loud and dance, dance, dance!
Yours Sincerely,
Maarten & Lars More

Sales Note
Just three years ago, the urgency of recognising Amy Dabbs' talent was wide spread by Special Request, who included her track 'Allure' in his notable Splurgecore compilation. The word quickly got around, and since then her career has been a steep uphill trajectory, spanning releases on Lobster Theremin, sets at Hor Berlin, collaborations with the likes of Coco Bryce, and countless features on BBC Radio 1 Dance.
The Bobcat Special EP demonstrates why, and proves her stylistic ambidexterity as she strays from her signature jungle-focused sound in favour of one centred on house. Through the course of four tracks, Dabbs incorporates ravey piano chords, soulful vocals and bubbly melodies into fun, strutting rhythms. And if you're already chasing summer, a collaboration with none other than UK Official Chart topper and SNF family member Eliza Rose is sure to get you there. Rose's signature pitched-up syrup-smooth vocals accompany 'Blow My Mind''s sensual deep house beat, making it at once suited for sunset cruising and breaking out into a serious groove. More

Amy Dabbs - Your Move
Tracklisting:
A1 Amy Dabbs - Don't Go
A2 Amy Dabbs - No You
B1 Amy Dabbs - Baddest Gal
B2 Amy Dabbs - Your Move
Release Note:
In what's been a stand out year for the Berlin based, London born, DJ & producer, Amy Dabbs has dropped releases on Lobster Theremin, launched her own label 'Dabbs Traxx' and collaborated with junglist Coco Bryce on new label project 'LT CODA'. With a distinguished sound and undeniable flair, both behind the booth and in the studio, Amy's brand of classic house and radiant jungle now comes to Low Battery with her 'Baddest Gal' EP.
'Don't Go' opens the EP with shimmering synths and lighter than air percussion. The mood is light and understated, conjuring warm and affectionate emotions without the need for amplified design. 'No You' then welcomes us with mid-summer melodies and sprawling pads; vocal loops adding to that feeling of fuzziness and warmth.
The B side opens with title track 'Baddest Gal' an emotional percussive workout that combines thoughtful arrangement with euphoric and dreamy notes. It's one of those tracks that could work just as well in a DJ set or cloud watching as the world slowly drifts by. 'Your Move', The record's finale shows a different side to Amy's dynamic productions; the track ebbs and flows and could be likened to the mixed emotions of meeting an old friend: Excited but nervous, happy but always with a heartheavy goodbye. A1. Ghosts, A2. Til You See, B1. Four Track Mind
Rising star Amy Dabbs delivers us another huge house EP, dropping as the debut release on her brand
new label Dabbs Traxx. The modern take on classic house that she's become renowned for in her recent
highly acclaimed releases permeates every track on Four Track Mind EP, serving up Amy's trademark
pacey rhythmic percussion, emotive melodies, and fat subby basslines.
Ghosts kicks things off with ticking clocks and haunting melodies woven throughout, creating a deeply
atmospheric track. It surrounds you with thick layers of pads and strings, underpinned with tear-jerking
chords and vocals, sprinkled with touches of Amy’s beloved Juno 106. This track relays a moving tale of
facing the ghosts of your past which, alongside Ghosts’ powerful percussive drops, is guaranteed to give
the dancefloor goosebumps in more ways than one.
Til You See takes us in an uplifting direction, with a powerful bassline blazing against a backdrop of soaring
pads and delicately placed arpeggiators, leading towards a spine-tingling yet subtle vocal as the track
reaches its peak. Bringing Amy's desire to create music that moves you to life, this stunning track is
brimming with jubilance and optimism from beginning to end.
Last but by no means least comes the EP's title track, Four Track Mind, its nostalgic organ sounds, bouncy
percussive chops and big basslines ensuring it will be a huge dancefloor moment when played out. This
energetic track takes you into the heavens with its relentlessly uplifting transitions throughout, Amy's
intention clearly to place you firmly in the centre of the dancefloor with a massive smile on your face.
Having recently been named as one of BBC Radio 1's Future Stars 2022, and with a string of solo EPs
coming out over the next 6 months, it's quickly becoming clear that Amy Dabbs is going to be a name
we'll be hearing a lot more of this year More

B1 Adam BFD - Rose
B2 Adam BFD - Siniestro
Sales Note
On his follow-up to ROOS10, French DJ and producer Adam BFD lets imagination thrive with five mesmerizing breaksy house cuts, best heard under a star-lit sky. Duality flows seamlessly throughout the whole record, Adam harnessing the power to connect everyday experiences with a higher state of consciousness.
The EP kicks off with 'Digital Tales' which layers wistful secrets over mood-altering pads; it's hypnotic undertone grounding and continuous. 'Cirrus Dreamz' ascends even further into the clouds, it's steady pace expertly infused with cosmic melody and shuffling rhythms.
In a world driven by hyper-connectivity, Adam's productions are a welcome reminder to stop and explore, none more so than in the immersive world of B side opener '1st sight'. Dynamic percussion provides the movement, while meditative sonics produce the feeling of being swept up in a magic carpet and taken along for the ride. Adam's depth of field widens in title track 'Rose', a quasi-epic composition combining all the best elements of house and breakbeat.
The record comes to a contemplative halt with 'Siniestro' - an ambient bubble-bath with field recordings poignantly placed across developing pads yearning for connection; showcasing another side to a producer who knows how to tug at the heartstrings.

Sales Note
Originally from Normandy now residing in the country's capital, French DJ and producer Adam Boufeldja (aka Adam BFD) has been making a serious name for himself, having put out a string of self-released singles and curating his own self-titled Youtube channel.
Adam's tracks have always been vivid, detailed portraits; drawing from memories and influences from around the world, and his latest EP on Running Out Of Steam is no exception; using his eclectic tastes to produce a record truly unique, and brimming with personality.
'I'll be walking' meanders through an always evolving city, creating space and sense of an otherwise chaotic and fleeting world. The track's softly spoken synths hold the torch, while the effortless drums walk us home. 'Call A Taxi' follows suit, a fruitful marriage between shuffling drum patterns and hypnotic tones, while the track's subtle low-end provides the glue; closing off an A side that feels more like a story being told than another dance-floor memento.
Title track 'No Advice' launches the B side on a slightly more ominous tone, in a microcosmic portrait of opposing forces; before 'An Ode To La Condesa' glides through like a letter from an old friend, the smell of fresh ink still prevalent on the page as we're whisked away through the wide-tree lined avenues of La Condesa. The EP comes to a close with 'For The Good Times' combining nostalgic tinged leads, forward-marching drums and sprawling pads that act as a backdrop to another highly impressive EP from one of France's best emerging artists.

The EP comes to a close with 'For The Good Times' combining nostalgic tinged leads, forward-marching drums and sprawling pads that act as a backdrop to another highly impressive EP from one of France's best emerging artists.

Tracklisting:

A2 Tony Q & Barry Scran - Bout 2 Get It
B1 Tony Q & Barry Scran - Vivarium
B2 Tony Q & Barry Scran - Horsepower
Release Note:
Tony Q & Barry Scran, also known as production and DJ duo 't e s t p r e s s', substitute their well-beloved moniker on Bout To Get It EP and explore a more world-building approach to their productions; featuring four patient and intricate pieces in search of new ground.
'You Should Be Listening' opens up the A-side with its larger-than-life and levitating textures, held in suspense by its solidified groove. 'Bout 2 Get It' comes in steady, and hits pace at the one minute park; the track's bassline opening and closing for maximum effect, and a tantalising vocal-loop that helps build as much suspense as it keeps the track in forward-motion.
'Vivarium' show's off the pairing's knack for hybridized methods, with its UKG drum patterns and trance-tinged leads; paired with a sense of optimism and world-building, it feels like a special and versatile record; fit for multiple purposes. Finally 'Horsepower' Shuts things down with enough energy and grace to close any set. The duo unleash a barrage of layered brakes against a silhouette of hypnotic leads and gnarly bass; embodying many of the ideas and knowledge from previous tracks, into a breathless masterstroke.

Tracklisting:

A2 DJ Atlance - When I Hear Your Voice
B1 DJ Atlance - Eternal Sunshine
B2 DJ Atlance - Do For Love
B3 DJ Atlance - After The Storm
Release Note:
Parisian producer DJ Atlance follows up an appearance on Happiness Energy's various artist compilation late last year with five sun-soaked house cuts on Running Out Of Steam, just in time for January coming to an end.
'Le Club, La Nuit' gets things underway with a sample-heavy slice of early evening house music; funk-driven basslines, radiant atmospherics and a distinctive Atlance, hip-house bounce hold the door for the listener as they venture further into the dimly lit room. 'When I Hear Your Voice' throws it back to the 00's with its MTV-pop-dance blend of catchy vocals and murder-on-the-dancefloor energy.
'Eternal Sunshine' is as radiant as the title would suggest; a bright sequence of saxophones, jazz-keys and feel-good warmth that we wish would never come to an end, before Atlance shows what he would 'Do For Love' on a synth-bending, playful cut of coastal house music.
'After The Storm' maintains its housey aesthetic, but this time on an electro-tipped 2-step; instantly recognisable vocal samples, dreamscape aesthetics and meditative breaks uniting on a blissed-out trip.
