Slow & worldly by nature, X CLUB.’s alter ego SLOW ROTATION INC. sends the duo in a new direction, guided by the gravitational pull that turns the world upside down and back again. SRI’s self-titled debut, a lovechild of Kruder & Dorfmeister, Deep Forest and Chaos in the CBD, radiates earthly sounds and showcases the techno duo’s unique and diverse sensibilities. The slow rotation has begun.

Taste makers? Ass shakers? Bread bakers? The Beats Of No Nation radio, label and party crew have been described as all of the above, but record makers fits best. Returning in 2018 with release number five, BONN introduces “Dance Ideas Volume 1”. The first of many compilations featuring dance ready music from BONN’s extended circle of family and friends. Stepping up for volume one is Glaswegian Octo Champ (who impressed us with huge EPs on Let's Go Swimming and Shapes of Rhythm in 2017), BONN co-founder Jad & The (you may know him from “Strings That Never Win” which featured in Mixmag’s Top 100 tracks of 2017), newcomers Whatever (from Saint Petersburg, Russia) and Ed Woods (Australian based in London).

After turning heads with their first two releases Brisbane’s radio show come record label Beats Of No Nation (BONN) is here with release number three. The ‘Hollywood’ EP comes from BONN co-founder Jad Lee aka Jad &The(FKA Jad & The Ladyboy). Off the back of recent 2017 releases on labels Sonar Kollektiv, 2MR, and Axe On Wax Jad brings it home to Beats Of No Nation with the 'Hollywood' EP which takes its name from the obscure samples Jad pulled from a bundle of dusty VHS movie tapes. Londoner Deejay Astral provides a remix of the A1 ‘Theatrical Trailer’ and he masterfully takes the bass line from the original and makes the remix into something his own.

Off the back of their first EP release, Super Fun Bumper Edition’s ‘Trends’, which received support from the likes of XL8R, Thump, Future Classic, and Bradley Zero, Beats of No Nation is now gearing up for its second release by the Chord Memory Band. Chord Memory Band is a recent collaboration between Michael Medlycott (from the band Vulture Street Tape Gang) and Dom Bird (BONN co-founder and member of the live disco 4 piece Mitzi). At the end of 2016, Michael and Dom caught wind of a cave, nestled beneath a sacred mountain, deep in the Australian outback. The rumours described a cave filled with nocturnal animals and ancient flora, but more importantly, a stash of vintage synthesizers and drum machines. Guided by whispers and caught up in the mystic mystery of it all, the duo set off with a dusty four-track tape recorder in an attempt to capture these mythical cave vibes and place them on a record. Michael and Dom surfaced several months later, with four recordings and no memory of what had occurred. These recordings became their synergistic ‘Third Eye’ EP – an analogue journey into the spiritual world, with one simple message, “the answer is inside”.

Out of the primordial chaos, Beats of No Nation (BONN) was born. First as a radio show on 4ZZZ, BONN broadcasts weird and wonderful sounds from around the world, featuring Australian and international guests such as DEGO (2000Black), Francis Inferno Orchestra, Lobster Theremin, MUNK, Mall Grab, In Flagranti, Ben Pearce, Dreems, Kraak N Smaak and Pete Herbert to name a few. Now, The BONN family are focusing their energy on artist & repertoire as they begin to unleash unheard sounds from their crew and beyond. For the first release BONN has teamed up with Byron Bay based artist Jesse Dolman to deliver their interpretation of endearing sounds with proverbial aesthetics. Entering into the studio with no direction, expectations or rules is some what refreshing, ‘Super Fun Bumper Edition’ and their debut EP ‘Trends’ is the outcome of just that. Charles Murdoch and Jad Lee both established producers, friends, ex bandmates, and pool table rivals, got together over two sittings and decided to jam some ideas. The four songs on the ‘Trends’ EP were conceived. Charlie & Jad said the main thing they were trying to create was music that was unpredictable, had twists, and turns. We think they succeeded. Music is made for ears. We could describe it all we like. Tell you its good, tell you it’s amazing. But you have ears, so decide for yourself.
