SHORT INFO:
The next release on Nastia's imprint NECHTO introduces Stanislav Tolkachev's
latest offering, 'NECH024.' A pioneer of the Ukrainian techno scene, Tolkachev's
journey into techno began in the early 2000s in Dnipro, Ukraine. Renowned for his
atonal modular sound, he continues to showcase his mastery of synths in this
upcoming release with dozens of timeless tunes under his belt.
Having a longstanding connection with Nastia and the NECHTO label, Tolkachev's
collaboration with the label has been in the making for years. Nastia's unwavering
support during difficult times has fostered a genuine friendship between them,
paving the way for a much anticipated release.
The tracks, recorded approximately five years ago in his studio in Kyiv, are live
recordings made using analog modular synthesizers and FM groovebox, adding a
touch of hooliganism and romance to the mix.
Having patiently awaited the perfect moment, Tolkachev now unveils the five tracks,
characterised by his signature minimalistic, synth-led and atmospheric sound. More

Stanislav Tolkachev - The Way To The After
Ukrainian don Stanislav Tolkachev resurfaces with his debut solo four-tracker for RYC. Not quite swerving from the sonic pathway his name has become synonymous with over the years, ever so alien and transporting, Tolkachev's latest boasts the very exact qualities that have made his sound stand out from others, earning him a constantly growing crowd of heirs and imitators along the way. Breaking the trip in, 'Up The Steel Stairway' sets the tone for the EP without further ado. Sniping hails of steadily frantic, arpeggiated synth chords and puncturing kick drums that'll have you dancing like one rolls with the punches, Tolkachev sails into the eye of the cyclone all guns blazing. Lacking no pounding heft either, 'The Less You Know' slits a way open into your head through a carefully dissonant symbiosis of corrosive synth lines and octave-shifting bass gone astray. On-the-edge techno at its rowdiest, most mentally challenging. Flip the coin and here comes the deranged, trouble-brewing 'One More To Go'. Cranking the mind-bogglingness a notch further, this one bulldozers its way past all sanity thresholds without blinking. Final number 'The Way To The After' tops it off in more straightforward but equally immersive fashion. Plunging us in a submerged chamber of sorts, where heavily verbed-out synth flexions entangle along tranquilly ascending pads, progressively dissolving in inert pools of FX-charged bleach and slo-dripping dub venom. Pressed on 180 gram audiophile quality vinyl!

Stanislav Tolkachev is releasing a new double-LP through Krill Music called It Will Be Too Late Then.
The Ukrainian techno artist says he made the album by assembling tracks recorded over a three-year period, and he notes somewhat cryptically, "I think this record represents a phase."
As with most of Tolkachev's releases, the album will feature his own visual art on the cover. Krill Music, a Berlin-based label originally founded six years ago in Buenos Aires, is having it pressed in Argentina to support "the growth of the Latin American vinyl industry."
Tolkachev, who previously appeared on Krill Music with a track on a sampler 12-inch nearly two years ago, just put out a new EP on Mord. Rivet's Pohjola outlet repressed his 2011 ten-inch Why Are You So Frightened. He also recently shared a stream of an electro tune that's apparently coming out Umwelt's New Flesh label next year. More

Following the hugely appreciated reissue of Stanislav Tolkachev 'Why are you so frightened' we proudly present 'Catacomb Saints'. Two songs written during the same period as 'Yes, Today' and 'Imago', originally planned to come out in 2011 but halted due to a severe traffic accident in label manager Rivet's life followed by years of hospitalization. But times are brighter now! We hope you enjoy this quite weird and simply singular 10" by the eastern genius that is Tolkachev.

stanislav tolkachev - Absolute Limit
After exploring Georgian soundscapes, the Intergalactic Research Institute for Sound is honored to reissue Stanislav Tolkachev’s Blue Mood. First released on Aftertaste Recordings in 2008, this masterpiece is in the Institute’s opinion one of the most impressive work of the Ukrainian artist. For the occasion, Stanislav created the artwork for the record in order to complement or maybe represent an idea behind the release. The Institute plans to ask artists to deliver also a visual on top of their sound communication on the label. Limited copies of Blue Mood will include a photography of Tolkachev’s artwork. Absolute Limit, which finds itself on the B side, is a brand new track by Tolkachev. As usual he delves deeper into abstract and distorted techno, delivering a truly mental cut.

(Repress 2024 / Limited Edition Riso Printed Cover Sleeve) “Nostalgia Por Mesozo´ica” is an exploration of "experimental exotica" consisted of synthesized tropical attributes — an artificial landscape isolated behind the glass frame. Reminiscent of recording techniques and sonorities ubiquitous in the 60’s and 70’s, it could conceivably have been intended as a soundtrack for the Mesozoic Era exhibition at your favorite Natural History museum.

Mingling kitsch with surrealism, it makes for a fanciful and engrossing trip into the past".. — Pitchfork (Philip Sherburne)
At its best, the album sounds like the high points of ex-Skater Spencer Clark's varied catalog (think Vodka Soap or Monopoly Child Star Searchers) and harmonizes with Christina Vantzou's bizarre and brilliant "Multi Natural" full-length." — Boomkat
The natural and unnatural have rarely sat together in such perfectly unsettling harmony." — Juno
Nostalgia Por Mesozo´ica is an “exploration of experimental exotica.” ‘Troglodytes’, for example, reimagines the age of dinosaurs and their leaky cave-dwelling existence, through a distorted and nostalgic lens that evokes movie soundtracks from the ’60s and ’70s." — if-only
Great production and mix by St. Petersburg musician Eugenii Fadeev aka Flaty, author of a good album of electronica on the same label in 2018 (Wrong Water – Dozen LP)". — Laurent Fairon
Alchemical combinations of musique concrète, samples, synthetic parts with fairy-tale melodies (‘Muzak For Mesozoic Showreel’) and sound-art (‘Dark-Archeo’), produce a varied, fascinating and original music narrative". — The Quietus, Jakub Knera

INFO
Ukrainian Muscut & Estonian Mida team up for “Volia x Rahu” compilation (Ukr: Volition x Est: Peace) with 100% of label profits donated to “Livyj Bereh” – a volunteer group based in Kyiv & working in regions affected by the war.
The A–side is curated by Muscut & holds only Ukrainian artists: Kavkazka Sound, Radiant Futur, Mlin Patz, Iury Lech & Ihor Okuniev. The B–side by Mida has Portuguese trio Niagara stuck in between Estonians Maarja Nuut, Rotrum, Luurel Varas & Terry Long Hermy.
Atmospheric & mellow selections on both sides, with a couple allowed left turns here & there.
Compiled by Dmytro Nikolaienko & Ats Luik
