Solar Suite - Slingshot (Roza Terenzi Remix)
Following the success of their first release, Leeds-based label On Rotation returns with a 4-track EP from Australian producer Solar Suite. Expanding on the contemporary style of his debut release on Echocentric Records, the Slingshot EP shows off his ability to inject groove and a sense of fun into a trippy, compelling framework.
Joining him on the remix is fellow Aussie and Step Ball Chain label head Roza Terenzi, twisting the title track into a dark and brooding peak time stomper.
“This EP was written throughout Melbourne's 2020 lockdown, what seems like an eternity ago...
In hindsight, it provided me with the perfect opportunity to grow and learn as a producer.
Finding the motivation and drive to write and finish these tracks was a definite challenge,
but overall something I am very proud of and ecstatic to have the opportunity to be working
with Adam, Marlon, Chris and Katie to bring this to life.”
This marks the second release for On Rotation, the party turned label headed by Chris I’Anson, Lisene & Adam Pits. “We’re hyped to have Solar Suite on the label for our second release and excited to share what we have in store for the future of the label. Once again the artwork has been done by the amazing Bristol based Illustrator Patch D Keyes.” - Chris More

Solar Suite - Contact
Solar Suite has something to say about liminal spaces. It’s that eerily familiar transitory state between here and there, where a shift occurs and the thrill of the change perforates through the atmosphere like a dreamy fog. Some find this anticipatory realm uncomfortable, but some find it as the means for creative inspiration. For the 17th release on Welsh imprint Haws, Naarm-based DJ/producer Solar Suite explores the playful liminality of dusk and dawn, taking locked grooves and prog sounds as the tools to transform the strange into something exhilarating.
‘Clear Skies’, ‘Tasman Transmission’ and ‘Still Life’ comprise the record’s club-ready tracks. The EP’s opener is expansive and uplifting, with an elated stride and synths that roll away like sheets of clouds finally departing a new-born sky. Meanwhile, ‘Tasman Transmission’ and ‘Still Life’ sink into lower, stubborn grumbles, signalling the spontaneous bursts of energy for those who haven’t quite yet chosen to head to bed yet.
Balancing out the up-tempo rhythms, ‘Subtropique’ and ‘Contact’ deliver the slow chuggers of the release. The former heralds the wide-eyed expectancy of a memorable night ahead, while the closing track preserves the threshold moment where night and day make brief, electrifying contact for all but an instant.
Five tracks with dedicated circumstances to be plucked out from record bags and presented to a willing crowd. The only question left: what occasions personal to the selector will they rear their heads? More

Lisene - Just A Phase
Following a string of releases on a who’s who of top labels such as Planet Euphorique, Salt Mines, Haws and Craigie Knowes, prog-trance pioneer Lisene drops a full-length LP on his On Rotation imprint. With 8 hyper-detailed tracks ranging from club-focused techno, progressive and electro to slo-mo downtempo, Lisene brings his A-game to an album sure to cement his place as one of the most exciting producers and DJs in the UK’s underground music scene.
Created over several years with a perfectionist’s attention to detail, “Science Friction” flits between moods and sonic environments with ease while retaining the cohesion of Lisene’s inimitable production style. Despite being an album, this is still very much a record for the DJs, featuring heads-down club tracks and bass-heavy electro crafted with precision and a cinematic sense of scale. For the home listeners, expansive slo-mo soundscapes and cerebral synth odysseys float high above the clouds, with widescreen details revealing themselves ever further with each re-play.
“This album has been 15 years in the making and represents a culmination of everything I’ve worked towards in defining my own sound and style without letting myself be pigeonholed. I’m immensely proud of each track - it really reflects where I was at musically while making this, while giving a glimpse into my future sound. This is a record that deserves to be played on the finest sound systems and hi-fis, and I couldn’t be more happy with how it’s turned out. Dive in and enjoy!”
Combining influences from across the spectrum of dance music with a cinematic sense of psychedelia and his own inimitable production skills, “Science Friction” is sure to see a lot of airtime across the festivals, after-parties and living rooms of the world this summer and beyond.

Primitive Needs - X - Stream
On Rotation returns with the second instalment of its Genetic Memories V/A series, showcasing the diversity of the label’s sound through 4 floor-focused cuts from a spectrum of global talent.
Fresh from dropping an EP with our good friends space:lab, Rambal Cochet delivers a mind-melting A1 to start things off. Deep, tasteful and making full use of his trademark sound design, “Meteora” is one for the witching hour!
Bolam steps up next with the party-starting “Dream Machine”. Colourful synths sit atop driving breaks, with the peak-time energy dialled up to 11.
Flipping the record reveals a darker, hazier sound. Moisk’s “GooSE Attack” is reminiscent of long nights (and mornings, and afternoons) in the smoky clubs of Berlin and Amsterdam, while the dark, rolling tech house of “X-Stream” by Aussie heroes Primitive Needs is pure afters’ fodder - a real B2 killer for those who know.
On Rotation is a Leeds-based event & mix series turned label, with 6 genre-defining releases featuring scene stalwarts such as Adam Pits, Solar Suite, Anderson, Roza Terenzi and Hybrid Man, Jamie Leather & more. More

Adam Pits is back with his second album on Leeds based On Rotation ‘Synthetic Serenity’ represents the next evolutionary step of Adam’s sound design and direction. In stark contrast to his first album, ‘A Recurring Nature’, this new release moves out of the forest and into the digital landscape, capturing the sound of a future world over 8 varied tracks.
Adam Pits talks about the inspiration behind the new album:
“It’s hard to put into words how much of an impact 2022 had on my life. I could talk for hours about the highs and lows, the journeys, both inside and out of my body. Or I could just make an album.
Having delved into the deeper reaches of techno and ambient, I wanted to show my appreciation for these genres on the record. Atmosphere, clarity and warmth became the pillars of my new sonic exploration, with stress falling on my signature ‘journeying’ style. The album describes the idea of being at peace with machines and being open to the idea that in the future we will find ourselves more and more involved with one another.
‘Synthetic Serenity’ is a product of a big energy release. It’s a testament to my acceptance of change in life and I believe it’s a true sign of my sonic evolution” More

On May 20th On Rotation returns for their first VA release - Genetic Memories Vol. 1.
Anderson opens the release with the mystical ‘Polymorphic Magic’ - a low-slung builder combining deep synths with sampled instrumentation. ??“I’m a huge fan of self resonating / overtone instruments so using the Fujara was a no brainer. A naturally psychedelic sounding instrument, I wanted to accompany the flutey pipe with a deeper and low-mid tempo chug.” - Anderson
Next up is Musty Head Records main man Jamie Leather - combining the tight drums and skilful melodic work of his previous releases with all the influences we love, ‘Discovery’ is sure to get any party going.
Leading the B-Side of the record is Ed Hodge's ‘Atreides’ - a tough yet playful banger drawing influences from across the spectrum of UK music. Gun fingers guaranteed! ??“It’s probably the fastest, rowdiest track I’ve made under the Ed Hodge moniker and pulls influences from house, trance and speed garage.” - Ed
Closing the release, we speed things up and travel deep into the past with Phazma's ‘Arrakeen’. Featuring ethereal synths, driving rhythms and beefy low end, this floaty number works just as well at home as in the club - a perfect way to round off the EP! ??“After some help from my musical peers and some heavy inspiration from the release of the new Dune movie, I managed to come up with something that I’m pretty stoked with!.” - Phazma More

Leeds based party On Rotation launches it’s record label with a LP from resident Adam Pits. His debut album ‘A Recurring Nature’, draws inspiration from time spent in nature with friends during a year when clubbing was an impossibility. Over the course of 8 varied tracks, Adam moves between club slammers and spaced-out introspective downtempo with ease, showing off the production skills that have made him one of the most talked about names of late.
Combining the unique style of his previous club EPs with organic sound design and his own classical cello background, the psychedelic sonic palette is reminiscent of long summer days foraging for mushrooms and other treats from the undergrowth. More
