a2 Daniel[i] & Purl – Compensate
b1 Daniel[i] & Purl – Intimidate
b2 Daniel[i] & Purl – Resonate
LISTENERS GUIDE - WHS03
The infinitive is the basic dictionary form of a verb when used
non-finitely. It is also the form chosen by Daniel[i] and Purl
for the tracks of WHS 03: return to the basics, simplicity,
pure nature distilled into music.
Pulsate starts with an ethereal soundscape, created to then
open to a deeper underwater exploration. There´s a universe
down there and the listener will be guided to appreciate its
beauty: lanternfish giving the tempo of this journey, marine
life to marvel at. We take a step back to observe and fill our
eyes and ears. We come back to the surface, finding peace and
calm.
Opening in a slow, thoughtful and majestic way, Compensate is a
hymn to balance. Since the very beginning, the listener will
notice a contrast between gloomy atmospheres and lighter
sounds, resulting in a chasing sensation that´s uncomfortable,
yet fascinating. Desire to explore, together with acceptance,
surrender to the things we simply can´t understand as humans.
The listener is then invited to explore darker, faster, more
pounding atmospheres. Intimidate anticipate it all in its title
: sounds, tempos, images, they all chase each other to create
an atmosphere that's daunting and fascinating at the same time.
A track to accompany one's journey, be it real or spiritual, a
trip where we let things happen as they come, accepting the
flow of life.
Resonate closes the B side drawing with sounds the depth of our
natural state. Close your eyes and transport yourself in lost
woods, alone in a tent at sunset, when the day is almost over
and ready to make room for the night. The wood is speaking, the
animals are awake, it's frightening but incredibly beautiful.
Crickets are singing their songs, frogs are bouncing from one
pond to another, water connects with air, resonate with earth
and with the smallnes of man in the face of nature._ Format : digital and 12" vinyl.

SHORT INFO:
Deep suspension, tribal minimalism, and delicate whispers dominate the textured and meditative spaces of Zemög's universe. The imaginary and exuberant places, the waves that travels above the crystal clear water, the mist and the path to an unknown mountain. The drums resound their acoustic vibration and call our ancestors. Daniel[i]'s revisit closes the EP meditatively, a possibility to contemplate, thank, to reflect on our interior and externalize negative energy.

b1 Daniel[i] – Jalada (Feral Night Vision)

LISTENERS GUIDE – WHS 01
It all starts with Jalada, an ocean of possibilities. It commences with whisper,
root-energy of the label, carefully and wisely performed by each of the four
tracks part of this record.
Daniel[i] starts in medias res, with muffled sounds that seem to embrace
everything, like mist surrounding a pond whose colors are reverberating all
around. Jalada paints with sound the shades of spring, engaging in a beautiful
dance with Mother Nature, exploring with attentive eyes, and ends with a
delicate coda that leaves the listener hungry for more.
Jalada’s first treatment is by Wa Wu We. We move to the outer world, still being
anchored to a natural environment: meditative, collective dance. Dense
soundscapes, immersive pads, frequencies in constant motion, techno filled with
lifeblood. Happily walking in nature, the listener is invited to look around.
The wind blows constantly, shaping melodies, expanding textures, bringing
darkness at times, light altering the surroundings at others. However, nothing
can change the direction and determination of this joyful stroll.
Feral steps in for the second rework, where his signature touch sets the scene
at night. Little bells like stars lighting up create a multidimensional,
shamanic atmosphere. Fascinating as the night itself, this version is both
primed for the dancefloor and reminiscent of a ritual in nature, where space and
time have no meaning. Haunting yet earthbound: the song of Syrens for nocturnal
beings.
The last treatment brings magic in: slower whispering, a diaphanous atmosphere,
watery sounds forging an enchanted universe. Illuvia is the rain bringing the
listener back to that misty pond, dripping sweat framing a candid smile after a
night of dancing. Solo collection of all thoughts, somehow needed for a
beginning that was a journey already. Percussive elements in the background
suggest a sort of uneasiness. Eventually nothing bad happens, dissolving into a
blissful end that maybe is just another beginning

LISTENERS GUIDE - WHS02
Sit tight, keep an open mind, let the balm of music surround you.
You are one of the multitude, in a collective listening act.
The nocturnal cicadas will guide your steps into Olorun’s enchanted world.
Asiento is gentle yet brave, attentive yet curious, the feeling at the start of
any journey, real or imagined. You can feel a light summery breeze on your skin,
accelerating your pulse: a need for exotic places. Accept it and savour it.
Tribal rhythm of the unknown, a pleasant memory of our past and the anchor to
the natural world. Intrigued by a flock of birds flying high, cherish the beauty
of this haven of sweetness immersed in lush nature.
Yoruba is a delicate ode to movement, a cinematic fantasy of this adventure
through the jungle. Pulsing, chasing, echoing: we are fascinated by the natural
world, especially because we can’t fully comprehend it. The adventurous Spirit
will show us the beauty of Gaia.
Aroüagues brings in ancestral voices to chase the listener, organic percussion
to create magical soundscapes. Like a sturdy shell that passes through foggy
textures, this is a moving meditation. The connection with the natural world is
reminded by the sound of the cicadas.
Daniel[i]’s Amalgam is a liquid sculpture, modeled on the crescendo of this
short but delightful voyage. Fog has become warm, a sense of rarefaction to come
full circle, creating a twirling, bouncing sense of dance, a place where getting
lost again and again. A place where appreciating the untouched beauty of this
universe, in times where this seems the most difficult thing to do.

Sasha - How To Wear Raybans Well (Roman Flu¨gel Remix)
Sasha returns with atmospheric gem 'How to Wear Raybans Well' Featuring remxes from heavyweights Roman Flu¨gel and Nathan Fake. Electronic luminary Sasha has had a busy 2024 that has so far yielded standout collaborations with the likes of Super Flu & Sentre and a solo single 'Florian Drift' that proves he remains at the cutting edge. His Last Night on Earth label continues to serve up a rich mix of melodic house and techno from the most exciting names in the scene and this latest solo single finds the boss head into new realms once more. The superb 'How to Wear Raybans Well' is awash with fizzing dub chords and electric lines that flash about the mix. The deep rooted drums have a subtle bounce as they serve to sweep the floor off its feet and lock them into a state of melodic techno bliss. First to remix is Nathan Fake, a UK talent who has always had his own unique sound. It's based on his mastery of synths and melody and has arrived on labels like Ninja Tune and Border Community as well as his own Cambria Instruments. His remix ups the ante and strips things away to bring more defined drums and crisp hits. The synths bring a range of emotions as they unfold with a mind of their own throughout this most captivating track. Roman Flu¨gel has been an ever present in the electronic world almost since the start. The German's output has covered endless ground from micro house to acid to techno on the most tasteful labels from his own Playhouse to Mule, Dial and Live At Robert Johnson. His remix is timeless surging techno that comes with waves of warming synths and unrelenting drum pressure designed for peak time dance floor wig-outs.

A Trifle Too Far - Catch Your Ear
2
A Trifle Too Far - Meringueatang
Forged in the fertile acid house scene of the late 80s, A Trifle Too Far comprises childhood friends Simon Ward and Tony Grimley from Hornchurch, on London's outer fringes in Essex. Their insatiable thirst for seeking out new sounds led them to countless shindigs, parties and raves, eventually inspiring them to craft their own music based on their adventures on the dancefloor. Their studio collaboration culminated in the creation of the remarkable record you currently hold in your hands: 'Catch Your Ear / Meringueatang'. This two-track release, recorded in 1992, offers forward-thinking and fresh prog-house cuts, as rare as hen's teeth and as exhilarating as they were upon their original release over three decades ago. Catch Your Ear was expertly engineered by Evren Omer, boss of Essex-based techno bunker Strategy Records, while Meringueatang was helmed by Matt Clayden, one half of M&M and Acorn Arts and the proprietor of X-Gate Records, another stalwart in Essex's underground dance scene. 'Catch Your Ear / Meringueatang' remains the only musical collaboration between the duo. When Mint Condition approached them to reissue this highly sought-after EP, both Simon and Tony were surprised and delighted in equal measure by the proposition. Now, a few months down the line, we find ourselves with yet another top-tier addition to the MC reissue catalogue, fully licensed from the artists, mastered and cut by Keith Tenniswood at Curve Pusher, and available once again for purchase. Do not resist the beat!

Arkan - What Is Not Born Cannot Die
12" vinyl with full cover print
TRACKLIST:
A1. Delirium
A2. Vicious Night
B1. Voltaris
B2. What Is Not Born Cannot Die
INFO:
The latest addition to the Figure roster comes in form of French producer Arkan. A musician from young age, he combines minimalist, deep-cut grooves with understated harmonies.
His first release on the label arrives as part one of his Lightworker double EP, giving the artist ample room to showcase his own vision of contemporary, „mental techno“ as he dubs it himself.
Fitting this description, opener Delirium is a deeply hypnotic tune, mastering the subtle art of sustain and release to effortlessly cycle its own energy. Vicious Night then tips towards a more percussively lead momentum yet stays true to the less-is-more approach of Arkan.
On the flip he gets to further build on his musical ideas, whether it be the melodic fragments echoing pensively in and out of the 4/4 grid over the galopping beat of Voltaris or eventually the saccharine, IDM-reminiscent ambient closer What Is Born Cannot Die.

Secret Echoes - Bring My Beat Back

Secret Echoes - Bring My Beat Back (Zombies In Miami Remix)
Mexican supergroup Secret Echoes releases debut single ‘Bring My Beat Back’ on Crosstown Rebels. The project combining a trio of revered talents from the Mexican electronic landscape sees Estefani Brolo, Diego Cevallos, and Marco Anaya unite to reveal a first glimpse into their forthcoming debut album, with the single remixed by Zombies In Miami focus on the song's hypnotic vocals and raw emotive energy.
Secret Echoes is a dynamic collaboration of three acclaimed artists from Mexico’s electronic music scene: Estefani Brolo (of BROLORZIO & I.M YONI), Diego Cevallos (AKA Métrika), and Marco Balcazar (AKA Balcazar of Balcazar & Sordo). With each member bringing a distinct musical background to the group, creating a unique fusion of sound set to resonate with electronic music enthusiasts worldwide, Secret Echoes creates music that blends house foundations with melodic innovation.
The origins of the project trace back to the height of the pandemic, when Cevallos and Balcazar began collaborating on an album they had always envisioned. Renting a unique studio in Jiutepec, Mexico, equipped with analogue tape machines and high-end studio gear, and inviting their talented friends to contribute, Brolo soon joined the project - adding her melodic and lyrical expertise. The result was the recording of 11 tracks that were put on hold until the time was right. After revisiting the tracks and performing them live, ‘Bring My Beat Back’ caught the attention of Crosstown Rebels founder Damian Lazarus during 2024’s Day Zero performance. Inspired by its energy and potential, Lazarus signed the entire album, and this first single provides a first glimpse of what is to come from the enigmatic trio on an imprint known for continually pushing boundaries within house music.
‘Bring My Beat Back’ showcases the group’s distinctive blend of house music foundations, guided by Brolo’s captivating vocals above shimmering synths and refined percussion grooves to deliver a silky-smooth production balancing classic nuances with contemporary touches for the dance floor. Creatures Of The Night founders and Permanent Vacation regulars Zombies In Miami provide an extra layer to the package, with the renowned duo’s remix drawing for neon-lit synths and hazy tones for a deep dive into the late-night hours. Grammy Award winner Louie Vega has the unique ability to spotlight and highlight the most essential elements of classic dance tracks and remix and recreate them to create something just as powerful for today’s audiences. Currently in the midst of putting the finishing touches on his forthcoming album, Expansions In The NYC, Louie took some extra time to gather together the original members of the seminal New York – based disco funk band Unlimited Touch and collaborate with them at Log Cabin Studio in Manhattan and his own Daddy’s Workshop Studio in New Jersey to produce the 2020 edition of “I Hear Music In The Streets.”
Unlimited Touch consists of Audrey Wheeler (lead singer), Phil Hamilton, Tony Cintron, Sandy Anderson (RIP), Stephanie James and Lenny Underwood. “I Hear Music In The Streets” was originally released on legendary imprint Prelude Records in 1981.
Growing up in the Bronx, from an early age Louie had an affinity and love for all the various musical genres that were bubbling up in New York during that era defining creative period. It is that passion that has stayed with him during a career that has brought him Grammy’s, several worldwide hit records, and a status as one of the world’s most sought after DJs. It was especially fulfilling for Louie to work with the original members of Unlimited Touch, He quickly realized that their talents were still as strong as ever as they performed musical and vocal elements from the original song, and that they had the vision to see how the song could be re-energized by having Louie add his unique production elements to this seminal tune.
Louie is in the midst of an especially prolific and productive period. In 2016 he released the Grammy nominated Louie Vega Starring….XXVIII full length album; 2018 saw the release of the widely acclaimed and chart topping NYC Disco 2 X CD and 4 X vinyl album on Nervous Records. Known universally as “The Maestro” due to the standards of excellence he maintains in his productions, DJ Performances and live appearances with his Elements of Life Band, Louie Vega is now ready to unleash another gem to add to one of the music industry’s most remarkable body of work. SHORT INFO:
In May, fans were treated to the first new music from Trentemøller since 2022. A new single, "A Different Light," showcased a stunning blend of prismatic space rock and folk. For anyone wondering if it foreshadowed the release of a full-length, Dreamweaver will drop in September, on Friday the 13th.
Featuring 10 tracks that traverse Trentemøller's many musical strengths, Dreamweaver also represents an obvious artistic leap, treading new ground while retaining the overall plot. Tracks featuring vocals come courtesy of of Iceland's Disa, who has been in Trentemøller's fold since the Memoria tour.
Dreamweaver's nylon string-led opening track, and first single from the album, "A Different Light," contains many of Trentemøller's trademarks: exploring dichotomies, musical shadowplay, Nordic frigidity, and warm waves. It opens the door for the steady, hypnotic "Nightfall," with its tetherless vocal, wistful guitars, and early morning desert chill. The third track in the opening trifecta, "Dreamweavers" finds its footing with a percussive soft trot, which starts after what feels like a shortwave radio scan in search of the right chords, eventually dialing in a weightless voice. Ostensibly keeping a ruminative pace with the previous two tracks, the song and, by extension, album soon opens up as the rest of the elements drop into place with a grand, luxurious burst.
Dreamweaver is about to enter its next phase. With the hatch blown off of the portal, the noisy "I Give My Tears," driven by its glissed and fuzzy bass line, pours into the void. It's followed by its sibling, the most chaotic track on Dreamweaver, "Behind My Eyes." Arriving as a piece of noise rock pandemonium, "Behind My Eyes," can't be contained in its plush vault. A whip-crack snare and convulsing guitars smash against each other in the song's verse chamber. The tension builds, as the particles collide, pushing past the point of critical mass, kicking off the chain reaction which is the chorus. At times it harkens back to the proto-gaze tracks that gave birth to dream pop, at others it newly defines what that is. There's no time to contemplate it, though, as the song disintegrates in a microphonic feedback instant.
A respite follows with the somnambulistic pair of "Hollow" and "Empty Beaches." Then, a moment of intensity returns as the soaring textures and tribal drum bursts of "In A Storm" take control, before being taken out with the ambient slo-core of "Winter's Ghost" and "Closure." This diptych wraps up an album which certainly feels on-script for Trentemøller, but is also much more psychedelic than previous offerings.
Dreamweaver will be released on Trentemøller's own In My Room label. It is an exceedingly immersive experience, bound to release any dormant hallucinations you may be harboring.
