An album grounded on earth while floating through eternity with a loose connection to the Milky way. This nine-track record is, as always with T J. F. a delicately balanced mix between dark and light, analogue and digital, vast space and tight basements. With an impressing collection of premium synthesisers and drum machines, TJF showcases some of the most exquisite electronically generated soundscapes heard on this side of 1984. His sound on Free Andromeda can be described as leftfield inspired by various John Carpenter- and Italian horror movie soundtracks together with some West German Kosmische Musik. Thimothy J. Timothy J Fairplay is back on the label with a 7” single containing two tracks cut from a rock of uranium. “Pathfinder Theme” and “UFO’s Over China” might differ in sound and tempo but are connected by a radiant feeling. The two tracks bathes in a greenish/yellow bright toxic aura. This plutonium charged music carries with it some quality elements known from his earlier repertoire like for example a primitive yet crisp beat working as foundation to a few but very exquisite synth sounds. Timothy J. Fairplay stands on the shoulders of past Italian masters and the works of John Carpenter but with an accentuated alien feel. Something otherworldly, maybe good, maybe harmful, is hidden in the vibe on both sides of this 7”. The balance between good and evil is very even - yin/yang from outer space!

Höga Nord Rekords proudly announces our collaboration with one of our favourite UK producers: Timothy J Fairplay. He is perhaps best known for his work with Andrew Weatherall. Originally operating as Weatherall´s engineer the pair went on to form The Asphodells. Fairplay is also a DJ and producer with solo records on Bird Scarer, Emotional Response, Astro Lab and more. Together with Scott Fraser he runs the adorable label Crimes of the Future. On this 7" he delivers a jacking and chugging A-side named The Cat Prowls Again. Sustained (and prowling) freak-outs guaranteed. B-side A Strange Servant is a bit more laid-back. But lovely cold and dark. Slow-motion psychedelic dance music for forward thinking freaks!

We at WOD are privileged to be recipients of some amazing music, however, there are certain artists that take things to a different level. The attention to detail and more importantly the content of their expressive musical ability. Stu Crosbie is one such artist. Next up in the line of fire is WOD021, the second in our Machine Funk series.
Six tracks of the highest calibre from some of the best producers in the dance music world.

First up is the legend that is Andreas Gehm. Never far from our thoughts and still so sadly missed, we are sure that Andreas would be happy that his music is helping to keep that party well and truly alive. A2 sees WOD favourites Auto Sound City with a stripped back 5 min jack, something you can close your eyes to and get totally lost in. A3 is Iron Blu, a man that needs no introduction and quite frankly has been there and done that and wore a few pairs of shoes out walking around that there block.

B1 brings in Chicago’s Steve Summers. Steve is on fire with his last album on U.S L.I.E.S and a back cat that absolutely busts up any dancefloor you are on when his music is playing. B2 is Dez Williams with a track that started as a jam and part of a mix that he did for the Unity WOD show, an absolute slammer of a track. Last but by no means least it’s Body Hammers own Scott Fraser, Label stable mates back when we were both part of the great AW’s Emissions Audio Output going back some 30 years. Scott delivers something that you’re going to need a bit of staying power with, absolute Monster!
