Taken from a series of three 45s from the Vong45 catalogue - where West Loop Chicago remake some of their favourite soul, jazz and funk records. For this release the WLC collective recreate the classic 'Daylight' as originally performed by RAMP in 1977, a Roy Ayers side project who also co-wrote and produced the track. Preserving the jazzy essence of the original by use of warm analogue synths and 'in the pocket' live playing, West Loop stay close to the 1977 version but with a more pronounced head-nod sensibility; a perfect ode to the Tribe Called Quest 'Bonita Applebum' sample. The B-side includes the '88 BPM Mono Version' while the A-side contains the groove heavy 'Main Version'. Ideal 45 material for this rare groove classic revamp.
