Although only a few months have passed since Constant Sound was first minted, the label run by Burnski and Jon Woodall is now ready to unleash its fourth EP. Entitled Raw Moments, it features a hot original by Paolo Rocco and is backed with accomplished remixes from the legendary Nail as well as boss man Burnski. Canadian Rocco is well known on the Montreal circuit for his broad and energetic DJ sets, whilst he has also cracked the Beatport charts with his own tunes, namely 'Move Body, Move Forward' on Klasse, as well as with follow ups on Real Tone. He impresses once again here with 'Raw Moments', a track that does exactly what it says on the tin. The whole track is built upon rock solid kick drums that bounce and bobble about as curious bird sounds and gloopy synths dart about next to cow bells and hi hats. It's expertly lively and robust. First to re-imagine the track is Burnski, who injects some seriously fat bass, a subtle sense of shuffle and infectiously crafted grooves laden with dub motifs and rich reverb. It's perfectly designed for no frills and non stop dancing, frankly. Last to remix is DIY Discs man, Classic Music Company associate and all round house tastemaker Nail. His Smoke Dub is a bulky house jam with buffed metal melodies, squelchy drums and sci-fi synth sounds that is deep, stays low and is perfect for back room basements. This label might only be on its fourth release, but already it has announced itself as a go to outlet for fans of fresh intelligent sounding house, and this release only confirms that.

Two talents with careers spanning varying eras, yet artists positioned at the heart of Italy’s current house landscape, Alex Neri and Mennie are adding to their rich solo discographies with a series of selected works in partnership with one another. Tuscany’s Neri, co-owner of the iconic nightlife institution Tenax and label boss at Wildflower Records, stands as one of the legendary Italian names from the past 30 years, holding residencies at the likes of Pikes in Ibiza while releasing a long list of classic records since the early 90s under numerous aliases, including Kamasutra alongside Marco Baroni. A familiar name to FUSE fans, having released material via sister imprints LOCUS and INFUSE, Mennie has seen his career flourish of late, regularly touring Europe’s key venues while also holding a residency at the legendary Tenax. Here, the two build on their recent joint studio projects with a debut on FUSE for the third edition of the label’s collaborative X Series, unveiling a quartet of impactful house cuts in heavy rotation for label head honcho Siragusa.

It’s safe to say that every time FUSE founder Enzo Siragusa steps out on his home label with fresh music, it’s an event that carries a lot of attention and for a good reason. His last EP on the label ‘Dreamscape’ celebrated the imprint’s 50th EP release, while stand-out releases and records dating back to his very first on the imprint back in 2011 have continued to shape and evolve the label’s core identity, pushing the sound forwards while still bringing that trademark ‘FUSE aesthetic’. Returning to the label for his first release of the year, mid-July sees the renowned selector and producer unveil his latest EP ‘Laughing Tones’ as he uncovers a pair of heavily-requested productions that showcase his diverse production range backed by a driving remix from Voigtmann. “While many people know about the influences I draw from jungle and hardcore, my sound has always been routed within house music. The inspiration behind ‘Laughing Tones’ comes from the house music from the late 90s; Mood II Swing, Inland Knights, the dubs and those deeper b-sides.. this record is a bit of a modern twist on that influential sound” - Enzo Siragusa. The 10-track work takes inspiration from every major period of the artist’s life, from his days listening to pirate radio absorbing the sounds of jungle and hardcore, to his ongoing involvement in bands as a drummer going back to his teenage years inspired by his Trinidadian father, a member of the Windrush generation, who played in Calypso bands. Rich’s all-important (and eternal!) status as a diehard raver also played an essential shaping role, led by his experiences in East London’s vibrant party scene in the mid-noughties, before his pivotal time as a FUSE resident begun in 2008 at 93 Feet East. A key member of FUSE since its inception ten years ago, London-based DJ and producer Seb Zito has remained at the heart of the city’s scene featuring as a core resident for the brand across their homes of Village Underground, 93 Feet East and beyond, whilst also serving as the A&R of sister imprint Infuse. Following a busy summer that welcomed outings and remixes on the likes of Four Thirty Two, Play It Say It, ORIGINS RCRDS and Moxy Muzik, plus material via his own Seven Dials Records and two collaborations as part of Enzo Siragusa’s ‘A Decade Of Rave Volume 2’, Zito now returns to FUSE to deliver his second solo EP of the year on the label as he unveils four new cuts in the form of his ‘Trying To Start’ EP. Mid way through an immense yearlong tour celebrating 10 years of FUSE events, Enzo Siragusa unveils his second album of 2019; A Decade Of Rave Volume 2. Volume 1 (released in April 2019) exhibited 10 solo tracks from Enzo that meandered through his 10-year journey at the helm of FUSE. Volume 2 brings in the four members who have remained at the core of FUSE history; Rich Nxt, Seb Zito, Rossko and Archie Hamilton, each collaborating with Enzo to create seven straight-talking dance floor cuts that have fuelled FUSE parties, capturing the essence and development of the “FUSE sound” over the last decade.
This is the first time FUSE fans will see all five work together on one release and is a testament to the watertight friendships they have built. Rich Nxt and Seb Zito were by Enzo’s side at the very first FUSE party back in 2008, while Rossko and Archie Hamilton climbed the ranks up to the booth from the dance floor, starting as fanatic weekly ravers of the party. Enzo and Rich Nxt set the tone for the batch of euphonic collaborations that follow, starting with ‘See you In Ten’ and the straight up grooves of ‘Enriched’. Longstanding FUSE resident Rich NxT combines with fellow London favourite East End Dubs this June to release their debut collaborative EP ‘The Four Slip’, featuring two bubbling, heady cuts. As one of FUSE’s original residents, Rich NxT’s evolution alongside the London brand has seen him become one of the scene’s most respected DJs and producers, releasing a slew of material via their renowned in-house imprints as well as via the likes of Tamango, Elision, Vatos Locos and his own NxT Records. This pairing sees him up alongside one of the scene’s most prolific and consistent producers, East End Dubs, who arrives fresh from a string of EPs via his own self-titled and anonymous imprints, and material on Eastenderz, Infuse and Moxy Musik to offer up the two-track ‘The Four Slip’ EP, marking the pairs debut collaboration, which was over a year in the making, whilst offering a concentric overlap between their own unique sounds to tell another fresh story for the 34th release of the rapidly maturing imprint. The A side sees the paring combine to offer up ‘E3’ - a slinking and swing-fuelled lead cut that merges woozy, spacey melodies, chunky kicks and warping electronics, before employing crunchy percussion licks, rich chords and a glitchy, low-slung core groove throughout ‘Bubbles’ on the flip to close the package in fine fashion.
