Cave Dwellers - Primal Pipes
Cave Dwellers is a new musical collaboration between Nordic settlers Dan Tyler (of the notorious Idjut Boys) and Mark Gilbert (Hugh Mane). This, their first E.P., is a deep exploration into the origins of house, reminiscent of early Nu-Groove, proving that classic sounds don’t age; a future classic in the making.

Felix Dickinson featuring Blane Lyon - People’s People (Head Down Mix)
Tracklist:
A 1 - Felix's Dub
A 2 - Crazy P Remix
B 1 - Ron Trent Remix
B 2 - Head Down Mix
SHORT INFO:
A track first recorded by Felix Dickinson, DJ Shacra and Blane Lyon in 2001 finally gets a release in Blane’s memory with remixes from Ron Trent, Crazy P and Brother Lee Love.
Felix’s Dub offers a stripped back, slouchy workout that previews Blane’s lyrics in tastefully dubbed-out snatches. From this open canvas, Blane’s voice melts into disco glitter and cool funk, courtesy of UK mainstays Crazy P. On track three, house royalty Ron Trent spotlights Blane’s vocals underneath a steady groove, soaring into euphoria with passionate pads and colourful synths. Next, Brother Lee Love’s Heads Down remix pulls the record into techy minimal territory: Blane’s voice loops pensively, speaking to the sultry, eyes-closed part of the night. The digital release also features the bonus Brother Lee Love’s Hands Up mix which takes us back to the surface of house music’s hopeful vision with the help of tender melodies, Blane’s direct speaking voice, and a chorus of joyous synths.

D-Ren 1 - Female (Chez De Milo Remix)
D-Ren 1 was one of the original homegrown artists from the Ugly stable.
His original funk-laden track had support worldwide and reached cult status when Perlon’s DJ Zip regularly featured the classic cut in his sets.
Now sticking with homegrown talent the piece has been given a complete reworking first by Mr Ron Basejam (the alter-ego of Crazy P’s keyboardist James Baron), responsible for high profile remixes for artists such as Fouk, Lovebirds, Kelis and The White Lamp, amongst others.
On the flip Bristol-based DJ, club promoter and producer, Chez de Milo brings a thunderous chuggy workout. Two very different remixes broadening the appeal of this classic house track. More

Underground Evolution - Soul Searcher (Joe Clausell Remix)
2
Underground Evolution - Walk On Water
Repress!
As part of Ugly Music's 25th Anniversary Joe Clausell has remixed Underground Evolution's 'Soul Searcher'. The original was a two copy classic at the legendary Body and Soul on first release, so Joe was a natural fit to reimagine this classic house track. His new version while attaining the extra length previously reached by mixing the vocal and dubs, goes way beyond, with all the parts being re-played, live bass, and layers of new synths and keys culminating in the solo’s in the second half that lift this track to new heights.
The flip of this release contains 'Walk On Water' which was the A side of the original. This track sits somewhere between the sounds of Detroit and New York (a natural place for a track of Chicago origin). With a sound palette resembling something from Underground Resistance, 'Walk On Water' is a jazz journey equally at home in the dark clubs of New York or the beaches and boats of the sun drenched Adriatic or Balearics.
