HVOB release first live album and tour documentary

77 sold-out concerts in places such as Buenos Aires, New York, Mexico City, and the Funkhaus Berlin, stops in 34 countries and four continents: the Rocco world tour in 2019 once again underlined the role played by Vienna duo HVOB in the world of electronic music.

One of the highlights of the tour was in London on April 13, at the filled-to-capacity "Electric Brixton" music venue. The evening had already been planned in advance as an album, a lot of effort went into recording it in its entirety. "Live in London" will be the first live album by HVOB. It will be released on March 11.

A short documentary by Nicola von Leffern will be released at the same time as the album. The film director from Hamburg accompanied HVOB on tour and it delivers a very intimate, unfiltered insight into the musical lives and the routine aspects of touring for the normally publicity-shy HVOB duo Anna Müller and Paul Wallner.
HVOB are currently working on a new studio album that is provisionally scheduled for release in spring 2022.

HVOB's album "Trialog" was released in spring this year and continues to attract unwavering international interest. The interdisciplinary art project - prompting an invitation to perform a Boiler Room set in Vienna, touted by American Thump magazine as a contender for an "Album of the Year" award - is a perennial headliner on influential blogs and media such as XLR8R, Resident Advisor, i-D and ARTE after charting high on Beatport and iTunes. At the same time HVOB's world-wide tour continues to gather momentum, with concerts in cities from Cape Town and New York to Hong Kong and New Delhi.

The third and final EP from the "Trialog" album, "Tender Skin/The Anxiety to please", is now set for release on September 18. None other than Scuba and DJ Tennis have been enlisted to remix the double A side, the seventh EP from the electronic duo: Scuba manages to transform the fragility of "The Anxiety to please" into a subdued powerfulness, while the DJ Tennis remix of "Tender Skin" is similarly powerful and technoid.

"Tender Skin/The Anxiety to please" is released on September 18 as a double A side, on vinyl and digital on Stil vor Talent.

Above all, 'Trialog' is an interdisciplinary art project, comprising a discourse between the disciplines of sound, video and installation, realised by HVOB, the VJs licherloh and the visual artist Clemens Wolf. The theme centres on ten ubiquitous physical processes, which are being documented and interpreted interactively on three artistic levels; via Clemens Wolf's orchestrated processes, the lyrics and sounds of HVOB's tracks, and the visuals by VJs lichterloh.
II. Album
Tearing, mixing, bursting, melting, oxidising, breaking, imploding, etching, bending, burning, track to video, video to artwork, artwork to track: 'Trialog' depicts the transformation of ten physical processes in ten tracks. HVOB's sound distinctively shapes the album, yet the duo now interpret their acoustic palette in darker, more accentuated, techno-leaning shades. Each of the ten tracks pursues its own individual dramaturgy: the opener 'Azrael' tears apart its built-up percussive tension, 'Clap Eyes' inches along frailly, 'The Anxiety to please' deepens and condenses until it implodes. References, inspirations and associations between materials, processes and artistic disciplines create an artistic depth, which renders the album a highl complex and complete work of art.

Within the space of three years, HVOB have not only established themselves within the international music scene by way of their releases, but also as a live-act. The duo strictly plays live and invariably performs with a drummer. HVOB played in 20 countries in the past year alone; at CTEMF in Cape Town, the Berlin Festival or SXSW in Austin. The conceptual framework of 'Trialog' will also be translated into a live-show. In dialogue with lichterloh and Clemens Wolf, HVOB have developed an audio-visual experience, which they're presenting globally this year. Next to Europe, dates in Central and North America, Africa and Asia are already confirmed.

The EP is - like the electronic duo's follow-up album, scheduled for release in 2015 - the result of a trialogue with Vienna artist Clemens Wolf and the VJs lichterloh. At the heart of the project are materials and the processes of their transformation, addressed on all three artistic levels and wrapped up in a single work. Each track is therefore a self-contained piece comprising installation, music and video. The EP is made up of four tracks: "Window", "Oxid" and two remixes of the title track. HVOB has been fortunate enough to collaborate with luminaries of the music industry: Gui Boratto interprets "Window" as a pulsating, emotive anthem to the joy of life, Acid Pauli places Anna Müller's vocals at the centre of an almost nine-minute journey through the HVOB world of sound. The EP "Window" appears on the label Stil vor Talent and is available on vinyl and digitally from November 28.

New EP by internationally acclaimed Viennese electronic duo HVOB: "Lion" to be released on December 6. HVOB have only just released their impressive debut album, but the next EP is already on the way: "Always Like This" is almost a tribute to the Vienna-based electronic duo's current wave of success. Number 1 in the iTunes Dance Charts in Austria and number 3 in Germany, number 3 in the Beatport Deep House Charts - and HVOB's eponymous debut album continues to win the band critical acclaim in a success story which began when the first snippets appeared on Soundcloud a year ago. HVOB's Berlin-based label Stil vor Talent, which is no stranger to success, has been delighted by one of its best selling albums to date. HVOB's third EP is scheduled for release on April 26 - and the track selection seems to be more than mere coincidence. "Always Like This" is an accurate reflection of the young Vienna electro duo's life right now. Anna Müller and Paul Wallner are "super happy" with the way things are going, busy as they are with all the live appearances in cities like Berlin, Paris and Istanbul, long nights spent in the studio and the formation of new partnerships: alongside Four Artists, Primary Talent, one of the world's major booking agencies, will in future be looking after the interests of HVOB. It's the culmination of what has been a roller coaster debut year: the eponymous debut album by the phenomenal Vienna duo HVOB is a lesson in how versatile, intelligent and creative electronic music can be. Their first Soundcloud snippets appeared in April, followed by the signing to Stil vor Talent in late spring and a summer of lauded festival performances, such as at the renowned Berliner Melt! Festival - this autumn HVOB (short for Her Voice Over Boys) now go on to deliver their virgin release: the 'Dogs' EP closes the circle of an impressive first year for the young electronica project. 'Dogs' combines all of the qualities with which the Vienna-based pair caused a stir across Europe during the past months: intelligent, equally driving and melodic, sophisticated electronic music - with an enchantingly feminine touch due to Anna Müller's voice. Stil vor Talent mastermind Oliver Koletzki speaks of 'a eureka moment on first listen, something that only happens once in a blue moon. HVOB are unique and timeless'. On the A-side of the debut EP, 'Dogs' and 'Let's Keep this Quiet' take the listener on a journey through HVOB's distinctive sonic world of organic sounds, floating pads, propelling beats and Anna Müller's beautiful voice.
