Spaniard Cuartero debuts on LOCUS as he drops his slick four-track ‘Wasp’ EP this September. A mainstay within Spain’s house music scene over the past decade, Malaga’s Cuartero remains one of the most consistent and well-supported names on the circuit. With releases via the likes of Hot Creations, Desolat and Saved, his recent material has seen a deeper and more minimal emphasis placed on his work, dropping material via Eastenderz, Constant Black and Djebali, plus his own Cuartero Concept imprint. Up next, September welcomes the addition of a new label to his catalogue as he makes his first appearance on LOCUS, delivering a quartet of crisp cuts in the form of his ‘Wasp’ EP. The lively ‘Eucalyptus’ opens proceedings as swirling pads and rugged kicks bounce atop of nimble basslines, while ‘Assault’ employs rubbery, elastic bass alongside bright vocal interjections and sharp drum licks. On the flip, ‘Bagonda’ welcomes a deeper, warping journey through skipping hats, rich chords, and glitched vocals, before closing the show via the off-kilter and scattered yet impactful sonics of title cut ‘Wasp’.

Cuartero - What Luv
2
Cuartero - Open Ended
Spanish artist Cuartero returns to Hot Creations this June with his infectious grooves to deliver the fiery two-tracker What Luv, marking his fourth release on the revered imprint. Title track What Luv is built for the peak-time dancefloor. Familiar vocal stabs compliment the intricate percussion and underlying emotive chords that meld into a frenzied breakdown. On the flip, Open Ended swings and bounces with intermittent blips and faint vocal whispers. A trippy, minimal number to roll you into the early hours. Sanity boss Cuartero began producing at the age of fifteen and shot onto the world stage in 2012, DJing over five continents and releasing on labels such as Desolat, Moon Harbour, Saved, Circus and Hot Creations. In 2015 he was named Best Newcomer DJ at the DJ Awards and in 2017 he won Best Tech House Artist and Artist Of The Year at the Vicious Music Awards.

cuartero - Kool Luv
Returning with his signature sound, Cuartero is releasing his Moon Crash EP on the revered Hot Creations. Two high-paced, underground rollers to energise and hypnotise, completed by a masterful groove-heavy remix from DJ Sneak & Tripmastaz. Moon Crash combines a sturdy, looping low-end and rhythmic, mid frequency percussion. A playful mix of synth and vocal chops, stabs and blips, transform into an invigorating ride. The legendary DJ Sneak and fellow house gangster, Tripmastaz, combine forces on their SP1200 Fire Mix, turning the original Moon Crush on it’s head with affected vocals, a rejuvenated bassline and a jackin’ house beat. Cuartero hails from Malaga, Spain, and has been releasing music since 2009 on labels like Desolat, Moon Harbour and Saved. In 2015 he was named Best Newcomer DJ at the DJ Awards and in 2017 he won Best Tech House Artist and Artist Of The Year at the Vicious Music Awards.

cuartero - It Stops
Crowned ‘Best Newcomer’ at the DJ Awards 2015, Cuartero returns to Hot Creations, following his ‘Dioneli EP’ smash release last year. Fresh on the table, the ‘Disarm EP’ ups the stakes and sheds new light on the talented producer. Title track ‘Disarm’ was fully formed after days spent exploring his Minimoog, while ‘Mounted’ shows focus in the bassline and underlying swing, embroiled in dark, distorted vocals. Speaking of the final track, Cuartero explains, ‘’It Stops’ is a completely different style of track that adds old radio broadcasting snippets over Detroit stabs.’ Despite being recently named ‘Best Newcomer’, Spanish bred Cuartero has been producing since the tender age of 15 with his first release dropping in 2009. Releases followed on highly acclaimed labels such as Desolat, VIVa MUSIC, Saved, Moon Harbour and Hot Creations, achieving great national and international success with most tracks reaching the Beatport Top 100. In 2011 he founded his own brand, Sanity, enabling him to start a record label and host parties worldwide with the idea of prioritizing the essence of music over the appearance of top named artists. It was in 2012 things really started to heat up with an abundance of gigs in five continents, numerous top chart positions on, a gig at Amnesia closing and a prized residency at Hyte (Amnesia). Fast forward to the present and the high level of success only continues to soar.

UPC: 4260148770814 Release : 7.4.2014
Tracklist 12": A1. Abandonado A2. Children's Game B1. Strike B2. A Sweet In The Morning
SPANISH ARTIST CUARTERO DEBUTS WITH THE DYNAMIC "ABANDONADO" EP ON DESOLAT X
The Desolat X series welcomes in spring with a package of peak-time house rollers by Spain's rising star Cuartero, who has already caused a stir with previous releases on labels such as VIVa Music, Moon Harbour Recordings and Butch's Bouq Records. Both 'Abandonado' and 'Children's Game' are perfectly executed examples of peak-time hedonistic house and their thumping beats are characterised by driving drums, pulsating bass, spoken world samples and percussion flourishes throughout. 'Strike' slows down the tempo, adding exotic sounds and samples that create a brooding tense house record. 'Sweet In the Morning' again operates at a slightly slower BPM, with a deeper groove and percussion spirals sweeping throughout the track. Normal service resumes on 'Remember Then' which rounds off the EP in fine style. It is another rolling house cut, which features deep bass, hip-hop sample and 808 whirls. All in all the "Abandonado" EP is a classy debut release from Cuartero, and his best release to date.

Italian DJ and producer DIMMISH is one of the most appreciated artists of the high energy, yet minimal panorama thanks to his innovative sound and style. He began studying Sound Engineering and Music Technologies at Scuola di Alto Perfezionamento Musicale, and then embarked on the path of music production.
Later his passion for analog synths and modular systems prompted him to experiment more until he found his own sound and musical imagery. This four-track EP is nothing short of his high-energy, up-beat, groovy flavour. ‘Orbit’ kicks things off with dubby effects and a deep bass power, ready for any peak dancefloor moment.
Continuing to ‘Lemon Life’, which squeezes soft synths over an understated house groove. ‘Singularity’ has a slightly tougher feel, with the chugging bassline and rolling synths for a darker club side. Finally concluding with ‘Dissolve’, a delightfully deep and breezy minimal dub house roller with pensive chords draped over hypnotic lyrics. More

Born and bred in London, DJ/Producer Max Dean is an artist on an undeniably impressive trajectory. Inspired by retro sounds that build the foundations of his groove-focused signature, Max’s appetite for catchy basslines, bubbling drum work, and swinging rhythms have quickly captured the attention of artists, labels, and fans alike.
