Seb Wildblood - No Title
Following the release of his debut album, ‘sketches of transition’, UK house devotee Seb Wildblood has curated a brand new collection of remixes, inviting a cast of artists to reimagine tracks from the LP - featuring contributions from Suzanne Kraft, object blue, Ciel and Jenifa Mayanja.
Running Back and ESP Institute affiliate Suzanne Kraft opens into the collection, offering a typically atmospheric, Italo-inspired take on sombre pop cut ‘amelia’. Breakthrough experimental club producer and DJ, object blue, warps the easy-going pace set out in ‘sketches’, drawing focus to its woozy mood with muffled vocals and disjointed percussive hits. Swirling synths and a rich ambient tapestry make for an intoxicating rework.
On the B-side, Bumako Recordings boss Jenifa Mayanja puts a percussive deep house spin on the technicolor minimalism of ‘small talk’. A live bass groove pops beneath the track’s swaying synth beds and melodic chimes, making for the most “classic” dancefloor take of the bunch.
Discwoman affiliate and DJ/producer extraordinaire, Ciel, bathes ‘bahn’ in fluttering psychedelic percussion. Invoking the likes of Orbital, Boards of Canada and The Black Dog, with an emotional candour shining through the foggy atmosphere.

Seb Wildblood - vitara 3000 (Central Remix)
Seb Wildblood kicks off the year with his ‘vitara 3000’ EP, a dispatch loaded with three atmospheric cuts which seamlessly dive between sounds of nostalgia, broken beat, and euphoric melodies. The three-tracker via Istanbul-based Oath is his first release since dropping his warmly-received sophomore LP ‘do you feel it too?’ on all my thoughts.
‘This EP was born out of having the first solid space to be creative in since moving to LA from London. There’s a call and response element to the record via vitara 3000, which refers back to my last album ‘do you feel it too?’ that came out in May via the vocal sample. I see my catalog/discography in phases, and for me, this EP reflects the final few chapters of the sound and energy I’ve been exploring over the last 18 months or so.’ – Seb Wildblood.
‘floor science’ is the first to drop listeners into Seb’s kaleidoscopic soundscape, indulging ears with a scintillating, high-energy cut that’s inspired by tech house of the noughties. The title track ‘vitara 3000’ trips into a blissful place, where the question posed by Seb’s second LP is answered in the euphoric flight of the vocal, literally calling out, “I can feel!” New studio space and a grab for new studio gear gave creative steam to ‘re-location.zip’, a track that radiates with new beginnings from the elevating chords to the skittering synths and soaring vocals. Seb Wildblood readies his first new release of 2020, the ‘Hazy House’ EP. After a year that saw Wildblood releasing his landmark LP, ‘sketches of transition' – which received a glowing 8/10 review in DJ Mag and made it into Mixmag’s of Albums of 2019 round-up – his new two-tracker is set for release via his London / Los Angeles based label, all my thoughts, on April 17th. Along with his recently released edit of Rosalia’s ‘A Palé’ for charity, the EP marks the DJ/producer’s return to a more dancefloor-focused sound, having ventured further into the worlds of downtempo electronics, R&B and Balearic-imbued house on his introspective and accomplished debut album.
‘Hazy House’ is an encapsulation of what a Seb Wildblood DJ set sounds like in 2020, fusing tough house rhythms with electro’s futuristic atmosphere and an ear for emotive melodic hooks. With dreamy flourishes and subtle complexities, the EP retains much of the depth that ‘sketches’ emphasized, despite being his most club-ready work since 2018’s ‘Grab The Wheel’ EP. The resulting release is one that showcases Wildblood’s considered, painterly technique, and his capacity to create thoughtful soundscapes even when focused on mobility and energy.
‘Hazy House Vol. 1’ on the A-side is buoyant and lush, with a warm synth bed hovering on top of its bouncy beat before a soft, chiming arpeggio motif floats into the mix, tying everything together in a silky deep house bow.
‘Vol. 2’ is similarly inviting, if a little more robust. With a sharp beat, angelic choral synths, and a subtle vocoder, the track is one for the depth of the night, when the last push of energy carries you through, right into the warmth of the afterglow.
Inspired by moments experienced throughout his second world tour in 2019, which saw him playing DJ sets everywhere from Australia and Japan to the UK and across North America, the title ‘Hazy House’ is a tongue-in-cheek nod to the assumptions some may have about Wildblood’s sound. But as the EP highlights, there’s a subtle intricacy at play in the producer’s work that further establishes him as a distinct voice for both club-driven sounds, and for those more suited to headphones.

seb wildblood - Pass the Pen
The man behind Church Records and half the force propelling Coastal Haze, Seb Wildblood, jumps over to Let's Play House for a laid back, suave four- tracker that'll smooth out that transition we're all going through as summer fades and the embers of autumn begin to burn brighter. “Necessary Happiness,” the first track, a improvisatory, noodly deep house ambler, sets the pace and tone. From there, the British producer ups the tempo a bit and explores the darker contours of red light-lit basement caves and after- hours haunts with the EP's title track. The flip is briefer: “Necessary Happiness (Mad Sax Mix)” is an embellished and brighter reprise of the A1, and “Pass the Pen” is a loose instrumental that has the bones of a break beat interlude built atop a jazzy hip-hop beat. Is that a dewy sea mist on the horizon at dawn or a heavy cloud of smoke machine fog veiling a strobe in the middle of the night?
