Repetentes 2008 is 26 year old Brazilian multi instrumentalist, session super star, Globo Television soap opera jingle up-and-comer, 40% Foda label boss and Botafogo FR football hooligan Gabriel Guerra. Known affectionately as Guerrinha amongst his friends, Guerrinha - or as he’s referred to officially - Gabriel, turns in Superconscious Records’ 13th edition. After his absurd debut LP on Future Times and his more recent outings on his own 40% Foda and PAN records, Guerrinha keeps things relatively straight up with 4 absurdly fast but not furious club friendly tracks.

When the past and the future collide, unexpected things can happen. And when we have music at the core and such talent providing the raw materials\ being the vector for this encounter is a privilege we like to gloat. Carioca avant-gardiste Guerrinha’s Repetentes 2008 is a project that is close to our hearts and minds through its rare ability to convey deep nostalgia in a playful futuristic way, renovating a tradition that is the quintessence of their hometown’s musical heritage with a zest for jest. Exactly what the offer here in two irresistible grooves that, while maintaining the clarity of references they lie upon, refresh them in a joyful way: “Missão Misturebar” and “Judas Preist”. The flipside “Gelo Geronimo” takes us across a similar path, but intensifies the emotional element and desnifies the rhythmic components to deliver the kind of track that only a master of French alchemy such as Gilb’r could transmutate by subverting its principles in a somewhat darker take. How about that for science?

Boulderball is a whole new, fully stretched world, inspired by everything from the Bomberman Hero OST and Cesar Camargo Mariano's Prisma LP, to "going on youtube and playing tracks at 1.25 speed." The LP is made of fizzing Brazilian fusion, video game music, virtuoso keyboard playing, funk, and the type of glorious, hook-driven pop energy known to fans of YMO, New Order, and Mario 64 alike. Dope. Period. 'Future Times is very happy to announce that we're putting out Boulderball, the first LP from Repetentes 2008 (aka Gabriel Guerra of Rio's 40% Foda/Maneiríssimo crew), this September! '

Retrospective euphoria from one of Melbourne’s most notorious. J_Feels | 4 months ago : "This takes me back! 1991... Joe, Damo and I used to hit every Biology at the docks. We were young and skint, but somehow managed to always make it to the rave. We were so up for it! The vibes were sick… good music… best mates... and the ecstasy… mannn those little fuckers (Damo from Carlton north, if you ever listen to this on here, hit me up brother!). I’m a family man in my 40s now but this music takes me back to my 20s, I close my eyes and I can still feel the rush, the heat of everyone crammed into those warehouses and the huge, stupid grin on my face.”

Cheap Present was formed in 2013 as a collaborative project between Melbourne artists ENV and Luis CL serving as an outlet for the pair to experiment outside of their main musical acts and subsequent genre limitations. Cheap Present’s music is mostly recorded live in the studio with minimal overdubs and draws sounds and influences from various sources. Using old keyboards and samples mixed with digital high definition sounds, the duo create a mixture of raw elements from the techno and dance tradition with a nod to classical melodies and industrial music. Each song features heavy drums to highlight the melodic playfulness of their bass, synth arrangements and humorous but expressive vocals and song titles. The Anterior mini LP follows on from the duo’s Wet Garden cassette earlier in the year and presents a collection of material looking back from the group’s creation in 2013 to more recent output. The pair’s evolution is clearly on display on the this 12 inch, from initial jam based songs such as Waterproofyouth and Bergwasser, which have a spontaneous metallic edge, to new songs such as Rooftops, which display a more meticulous and mature approach to production."

Mount Liberation Unlimited's debut 12" on Junk Yard Connections, Astro Travelling Life, has become one of the most in-demand deep house releases of 2014. A year on, they finally deliver a follow-up, this time on Superconscious Records. All three tracks primarily succeed due to their blend of rough analogue elements - crusty drum machine hits, tape hiss, and so on - and the kind of dreamy, stargazing chords and melodies that have always been a hall mark of classic deep house. It's the Detroit techno influenced "Polyphonic Spree" - all cymbal-heavy shuffle, stretched-out chords and funky synthesizers - that arguably stands out, though it's a tough call given the high quality threshold throughout.

Superconcious present a further evolution for Melbourne producer András. Looney house recorded with DIY immediacy, this fresh 5 tracker takes subtle cues from Cajmere, Pal Joey and lesser known 90s Australian cuts culled from the 3RRR FM library. 'T.N.T.F.' was the fastest track András had even written until revving the Pajero offroad and clocking 138 bpm on 'Always Pumping'. On the two mixes of 'Gold Coast', he finds heaven in a tourist hell, making hotel room acid before hitting the balcony for some cool breakbeat over a Bacardi and coke. The absurdity continues with the horny-Australiana disco of 'Soy Boy', rounding off a welcome return to his inimitable solo work.

Take a trip deep into the Kalamari desert with Australian ex-patriot and Superconscious co-founder Francis Inferno Orchestra. In his first outing since last year’s LP ‘A New Way of Living’ “Where Will You be Spending Eternity?” is a four track mirage inspired by spiritual and religious junk-mail and a lust for the extraordinary. It also comes complete with a remix from fellow Australian techno wizards Sleep D. So this summer, ask yourself the question; where will you be spending eternity?
