In a more raucous mood, it seems Bitter End have pre-empted the summer of debauchery ahead of us by unleashing their Sweetest exorcism yet...
ITCHICRICKITCH is the tweaking weirdo in the corner, the unsettling presence that invariably unites the room in the simplistic joy of judgement free release.
'PRINCESS' appeared on the flipside of a frankly far more regal diva originally on GALL005, here she's the smudged mascara version, much stroppier and not due home 'til way after sunrise.

It's only fair - in terms of universal balance - that stratospheric pop success should be countered with some gutter realism.
When you live round the Bitter Ends, a year of enforced curfew is the least of your worries.
That said, it speaks volumes that even the folder marked 'Alternative versions' is light years ahead of most of what passes for dance music in 2021.

It's only fair - in terms of universal balance - that stratospheric pop success should be countered with some gutter realism.
Release No.12 then is the smudged mascara of the morning after, still in the club, but definitely not ready to leave.
'Imperfection Turns Me On' is the sound of Nile Rodgers sharing a bag of flake with the local bell-ringing society, while B & E upsets the curtain twitchers with an uplifting lude-a-thon of swirling synth riffing and those ever-present Crooked and pin sharp beats.
SLEEPWALK unashamedly hogs a whole side, gently imposing its dub-soaked 15 minute self directly into your hypothalamus, with some Basic Channelesque transcendentalism, but from Yorkshire.

'Kneel B4 Thelma' on side A, flips one of her biggest hits into an utterly futuristic cyborg-Soul anthem ! Almost as if we'd all forgotten how good one of Earth's greatest 20th century divas might sound over a filthy 21st century Klanken-banger !
On the flip 'Mast Song' transports us to a seaside tavern, where the old folks sit in the back, evoking (and imbibing) strong spirits, with traditional shanty's while the next generation find communion in the gentle throb of the 4/4 in the tap room next door

Bitter End emerge from the ashes of 2016 with a message of positivity and protest beamed from the near future Keen eyed aficionado's may spot the homage to Mel Cheron's classic US label West End Records here But while their motto may have been 'Where The Sun Sets & The Stars Rise' Bitter End Records embarks on a distinctly more 21st century path to dancefloor salvation... 003 sees a welcome return to utilising the full sonic reach of the 12" single, with these two 21st century power-dancers for strobe-lit moments of praise. 'Can't Stop' explores a Walter Gibbons approach to teasing a groove to within an inch of its life, and WHAT a groove. The Disco at the end of the universe may well be beaming this one up, such is its sheer intergalactic and unrelenting bad assery. We recently witnessed this unite a dancefloor in such wild abandon it should come with an age restriction !
