For our second foray into the House Of EFUNK we tap into the source, The Motor City, for a 5 track compilation of Detroit’s unsung heroes and up-and-comers. In true EFUNK fashion the music moves from soulful to funky, groovy to pumping. On the A Side longtime P-Funk collaborator PiranhaHead (Mahogani, Moods & Grooves) brings in Abby B on vocals for the soulful, deep4life workout “Ebb & Flow”. Next up, two Detroit transplants living in LA, Visionquest’s Lee Curtiss and Steingold give us “Feed The Funk” a bassline driving, dancefloor bomb with a classic sample. Then the city's most prolific producer of the moment Javontte (NDATL, Sisturm) turns out a bubbling remix of Soul Clap’s Lonely C 2018 standout single Hold Up. The B Side kicks off with edit master Pontchartrain (Whiskey Disco, Soul Clap Records) continues his move into strong originals with “Changes They Come”, a funked up, synthed out groove featuring Ian Fink on Keys. Fink rounds everything out with a funky, jazz influenced Detroit groove that shows off the keyboard skills that have him playing with everyone from Scott Grooves to Shigeto to Andrés.

sillygirlcarmen - Good Times
Soul Clap’s House of EFUNK label record label celebrates the 10th anniversary of their party of the same name that’s been ongoing each year at Movement Festival since 2014. The EFUNK party is commemorated with a 4-track house compilation that showcases some of the city’s finest talent. DJ Minx’s late night soulful house affair 'Sweet' bubbles with her seductive vocals set against percolating rhythms, romantic chords, and funky trumpets. Marcellus Pittman’s '888 In The Groove' is a chugging instrumental house jam that is surrounded in swirling synth arpeggios and cosmic pads centered by a hefty kick and meaty bass line. Mike (Agent X) Clark’s 'Where You Get That Funk From' pays reimagines the bright funk of Parliament-Funkadelic inside of a brooding and dank deep house beat with a loping bass line. On sillygirlcarmen’s 'Good Times' she delivers an angelic vocal performance with an uplifting message on her minimal but classic Detroit house sounding track.

Deep electronic grooves and melodies are mixed with intense emotional musicality that transports you to the past… Resulting in a 'hands up in the air' feeling, where the rush of music bathes you in warmth and remembrance, showcasing Wink’s diverse range of production and artistry on each cut.
"12 months of Longing" begins with a pounding 909 kick that soon gets flooded with funky percussion building up to the 1st break of lush keys and swirling beats. The production continues leading into bouncing bass and a serious groove, that evolves into a rhythmic pause where soaring strings, and melodies build and build leading to an intense crescendo that will blow the roof off.
"Sexy Bot” is a title which suits this sexy tune. It’s journey begins with latin rhythms and is quickly joined with repetitive stabs and ascending pads, that spirals around you, directing the path of music that unfolds into a Detroit inspired musical progression. Symphonic string plucks leads you into a break of serious sexy melodies that explodes into a rolling bassline that will elevate any listener into another sexy feel good echelon.
