One of the founding figures of Amsterdam's underground Techno culture Dimi Angelis has been shaping the scene in the late 90s, throwing warehouse raves living up to the underground standards. Until today his approach remains unchanged: uncompromising, opinionated, and never aimed at easy pleasing.

The 13th release of Dimi Angelis on his ANGLS labels just comes in the right time. In a moment where the urge for something raw and real never has been bigger, Dimi delivers four pounding tracks.
The A side of this EP consists of two tracks, "Shadowland" and its spatial nuances catch one right at the beginning with its lasso-like loops, who won't let go too easily as the track evolves. Highly dancefloor oriented is the track "Intergalactic", with its mechanical noise attack, using the 909 to create suspense paired with punchy inductions.
On the B side one is encountered with "Crionics", a track which transports into a deep sonic hole, an access to full immersion, giving both tension and resolution to the listener. The strength of "Ice Warrior" resonates through voltaic frequencies and is the abstract yet wholesome conclusion to this work of art.

- four highly machined tools, rich with subliminal and subversive frequencies.
"The Web of Fear" opens with assertive and persistent percussion complemented by an enveloping low-end that slowly builds tension across the track's length. "Burlesque" follows with a militant, broken rhythm pattern that is progressively interrupted by dissonant and metallic stabs. Both tracks are free of frills - the few elements at play here are used to their full effect to create standout tools, perfect for layering.
"Imaginary Voyage" veers into minimalist sci-fi territory, perhaps the most introspective track on the EP. It presents a sparse groove decorated by FM tones that come and go like passing comets. Based in the industrial harbour of Rotterdam, the fresh started 'Self Reflektion' techno imprint presents its first release. The person responsible for starting the label is stranger, who also goes by the not-so-mysterious name of Mitchel Polderman in daily life. His debut release 'Warehouse Memoires' reflects his passion and interest for the 90's warehouse rave sound in various ways, all produced while living in a Warehouse down the docks of Rotterdam.
Featured on the release are the original mix, a recording which can be marked as a 2014 warehouse techno track. The 'UK Rave mix' probably speaks for itself, breakbeat influenced techno, 90's UK warehouse material. The US Revival mix takes you from Chicago to New York in 4 minutes, and closing off the release is the Bergweg mix - an additional DJ Tool for the hoover freaks.
