Telephones is back! This time with true norwegian underground vibe-archaeology, rescued from a humid attic on the rural island of Sotra, outside Bergen, Norway. Long presumed lost, the material featured on the first release on his own label, was originally conceived and programmed by a juvenile Mr Telephones on ancient PC-software at turn of the 90s/Y2K - at a time when the local Bergen-scene was percolating with main dogs Torske and Erot, a time when norwegian DJs were still allowed to play Peacefrog-records on national FM radio, and house, techno and disco was all-in-one. 20 years later, the tracks have been salvaged, exported and meticulously overdubbed, re-recorded and edited to current high standards of Telephonic Communication. One for the true heads!

Repress!
Returning to his much acclaimed "Point Breaks / Beach Breaks" series, Telephones kicks things off in a big way with the emotional-euphoric party jam "Another Time", sounding something like if The Avalanches covered Daft Punk, finally remixed by Pal Joey. Warp-driving us away from side A is "Playa de Cochlea", a tripped out full-spectrum ambient tsunami - a drexciyan UR-meets-Blade Runner beatless trip at high sea. Flip for the more chunky street-soul/breaks/hip-hop oriented track "Refshers", which could easily have been a lost Leftfield remix of Sade. "Dew Drops" wakes you up somewhere in the foilage of your jungle-life, before Telephones' literally steps up the game with his own "Steppin' Dub"-remix of "Phase Alternate Line" from EC04, bumping it into a four-four 2-steppish balearic rascal. Another tight European Carryall-essential straight from the source! More

Mr Telephones pumps up the pace drastically from his previous downtempo-oriented "Point Breaks / Beach Breaks" EP. Here closing in on the 150 bpm mark, with the vibey raw pump of "Blue-Tek", a funky oddball-roller hybridizing ghettotech, balearic, detroit and italo house. Flip wax for the soundscapey ambient techno-trip "FV555", twilight-speeding through hazy highways, with the forest on one side, and ocean on the other. Both sides neatly wrapped up with trippy reprise-versions. Pressed at 45 for max flex! Essential. More

Taking cues from balearic, old-school hip-hop, breaks and cosmic, Telephones keep the vibe strong whilst delivering the first non house- or techno-related release on his label. This 5-track EP conjures up a nostalgia-fueled hypothetical mutation of early eclectic influences from Pal Joey, Sade, Ace Of Base and Bone Thugs n Harmony to Lil Louis, Baldelli, Weatherall and N.W.A.. Reports from sources familiar with the material claim "..it sounds exactly like today-Telepohones, just minus 20 BPM, plus skateboard-mushroom-hairdue (think Louie Barletta) and baggy Droors". A truly special one for the real heads. Cop it!

Hot on the heels of his archival-launch of European Carryall, Telephones delivers a brand new (or is it really?) heavy double A-side club 12". Kicking off with "Multiverse (Pacific Mix)", an energetic basement-flux of UK garage, detroit techno and balearic blessed with live zither-recordings and stardust-sprinkles by fellow countrywoman A'KARI - ensuring the zen of your late-nite spaceout. Flip wax for the the prime-time house-stomper "Turbofutúr (Atlantic Mix)", nodding it's head to the mid-90s footprint left by DJ Duke, Power Music and Strictly Rhythm.. albeit with an unmistakably Norwegian euphoric disco-fling lurking beeeehind the groove. Another essential for the true heads!

Digging deeper into rescued attic-material, Telephones offers even more genre-wobbly, and inspired sounds, featuring bipolar detroit techno/bongo-disco, stuttering warehouse-atmospheres and a failed attempt at making Speed Garage (without ever really knowing what that was) - instead ending up somewhere, which can best be described as balearic techno with a dutch twist, hyperactive steroid-disco and degenerate house. Originally conceived and programmed by a juvenile Mr Telephones on ancient PC-software at the turn of the 90s/Y2K - 20 years later, salvaged, exported and meticulously overdubbed, re-recorded and edited to current high standards of Telephonic Communication. Shortinfo:
Ring, ring! Hot on the heels of the transcendental and mystical "Vibe Telemetry" long-player of the man like Telephones, we proudly present: Vibe Remixes. Some of you might notice the irony between the lines. A producer who goes by the name of Call Super is remixing an artist known as Telephones. But, we rather rivet you on his 8:59 long skippy dub journey that recalls (pun intended) an atmosphere that could be found in the space between Smith & Mighty, the LTJ Bukem of his youth, Italian house records, British Balearics and bass affine music (of whatever providence). A magical mystery. But we don't hang up here. DJ Fett Burger is treating the other side and only he himself knows how he made what he did. 14:51 min of almost every style ever invented in the scope of house music. Designed for people blessed with an everlastingly short attention span and DJs on the lookout for a toilet break and a coffee break or whichever break, it leaves its listener speechless. And: it's so much fun that once it's over, you want to redial Fett Burger's number immediately.

In times where a compilation of 12-inch bangers passes as an album, Telephones "Vibe Telemetry" opts for a different approach. Without being a departure from his 12"s for Sex Tags Ufo, Full Pupp and yours truly or his brilliant remix work for José Padilla and Vangelis Katsoulis, the Norwegian producer from Bergen who calls Berlin his home, hones sound, skills and aesthetics on his debut long-player.
"Vibe Telemetry" is inspired by the pure feeling of listening to house, disco and techno, prior to knowing what it actually was: ambiguous, euphoric, mystical and melancholic. Sonic and physical experiences, which names and origins were yet to be discovered.

Tracklist 12" A1 Lotusland (Sunset Mix) 9:28 A2 Lotusland (Discodromo Remix) 6:46 B1 Lotusland (Sunrise Mix) 7:44 B2 Lotusland (Gatto Fritto Remix) 7:52
Short info:
Love On The Rocks is back again for the second time in as many months, this time with a true summer release. With EPs for Sex Tags Ufo and Running Back causing a huge stir, Telephones goes even fur- ther, offering the beautiful Meditiranian house anthem that is?Lotusland and comes backed with remixes from Discodromo and Gatto Fritto no less. Up and coming is definitely a term that can be applied to Norway's Telephones. While a?debut release on Full Pupp hinted at things to come, it was 2013's "Rytmenarkotisk" on Sex Tags Ufo that signaled him to be a young producer with the golden touch. More than just another deep house pastiche, the track, plus the flip co-production with DJ Fett Burger was praised far and wide. The recent edits and reworks on the Pleasure Unit 1 EP and surely the breakout Ocean Called EP for Running Back means 2014 is Telephones year. Taking this further is Lotusland - here appearing in two distinct versions. An irrestible melody that takes the influences of early 90s NYC clubbing but with that uplifting European touch so loved by Italian producers of the day. With that Mediterranean thought in mind it seems apt to name the versions for their vibe - Sunrise and Sunset. Whichever, you decide. Italian duo Discodromo take Lotusland to a soft-waved shore to get some discoid sand between the toes, while finally good friend and stellar producer Gatto Fritto shows his genius with a spaced out Electro Boogie wig-out, full of laser lights and seductive reverbs.
A very special release that takes continues never-ending magic of Norway producers but clearly with Telephones very own signature sound - this EP is pure ecstasy.

Another vibey one for the heads and dancers!
