Part of the St. Petersburg underground for more than a decade now, Hoavi (Kirill Vasin) has released on labels around the world since debuting with Cyclones in 2013. With Phases, he joins the Gost Zvuk roster and builds on his previous ventures into ambient and dub inspired house with a six track mini-album that channels elements of his Phobia Airlines LP. The general atmosphere is built through industrial sound design, moving from quick-fire broken beat and woozy downtempo into rhythmic noise and abstract reductivism. The whole thing collides to form a sort of futurist, machinic statement that relies more on rhythm and percussive synth work than the balancing of melody, seeing the artist hone in further on physical modelling synthesis and computer-generated textures. Rising Sun is the production alias of Steffen Laschinski, a producer and multiple record label curator from Berlin. Since discovering his music last year we’ve become enchanted by his productions and record label Kristofferson Kristofferson and he managed the Labels Styrax and Millions Of Moments.
The name, the project ‚Rising Sun’ and the music was inspired by the music of Tetrode Music, Damon Lamar and Specter have been the initiation in the end of 2007.
The reserved deep house music that reminds of Larry Heard or early 90’s String House, but is not really a style of its own, all that and the experienced influences of Soul, Funk, Hip Hop, Jazz, Detroit Techno, Ambient and Deep House, are all influential to my music.
More crossover than one specific style. The music itself is the sketchy attempt to detain moments that haven’t been planned, so it’s a statement that I can foresee in any way, even though the open up of a track is always the same, almost like a ritual. The character is to capture and convert the music of rising sun.

Cologne is Danny Lane and Vasilios Manoudakis - a photographer and a ship captain who
make songs together. Vasilios works as a boat’s captain in New York while Danny stays
landlocked, producing tracks and hustling work as a photographer/actor in Los Angeles.
The two communicate with one another through music, sending loops and snippets from
wherever they happen to be, independently writing pieces of songs that smoothly snap into
place. Throughout this, the two share a thing for synths and classic pop, creating songs that
are warm, relaxed, and inescapably catchy. Though their influences range from 80s dance
music to minimal house and ambient music, they see Cologne as something new and have a

Boris Bunnik is no stranger in the worl d of electronic music. He released several albums and ep’s under a variety of monikers since 2007 on labels like Delsin, Shipwrec, Frustrated Funk and his own Transcendent imprint. Fauxpas Musik welcomes him for a new project called Severnaya.
Originally hailing from the Island of Terschelling, the most Northern and remote part of the Netherlands he now made a piece of music dedicated to this special place. Severnaya means north in Russian and refers to the bright frozen landscapes of the northern archipels. Boris often plays with the influences and elements of ambient in his music. If we have to believe the man himself, Polar Skies is his most personal sound trajectory to come from his mind. Drum programming is scarce and what remains is a lush and profound listening experience floating on scapes and melodies.
We clearly hear his roots and intentions represented in the airy, tranquil sound design of this new album project. Things sound spacious, and life is at ease in these melancholic compositions. Crispy crackling percussions and icey pads place you in the midst of a resonant arctic landscape. You can hear influences drawn from producers like Biosphere, Pub, Brian Eno but we also hear more contemporary influences from modern day film composition but most of all we here Boris his own signature.
The tracks were composed over a couple of years (2015-2017) in a more contemplative mindset. At some point this selection formed a consistent piece of music and as a result you hear his most personal and fragile works to date. Fauxpas Musik is proud to release this new project in 2018.

The tracks were composed over a couple of years (2015-2017) in a more contemplative mindset. At some point this selection formed a consistent piece of music and as a result you hear his most personal and fragile works to date. Fauxpas Musik is proud to release this new project in 2018.

'Hometown' was written in the depths of Russia in a place called Novocherkassk, whose industrial cityscapes made a great impact on the overall sound of the album. Most of the tracks were written in a few takes. Most notably, the track 'Innermost Self' is a dedication to Module One's grandma who passed away a short time ago.
Due to a tragic sequence of events, he was unable to see her before she fell into a coma. The track is overloaded with tension and fear as well as stark anxiety. Vinyl tastes better...
