Bosconi Records Presents Datafreq’s Electrifying EP: “Circuit Garden” Toronto’s electronic music scene luminary, Dave Rout, known as Datafreq, is set to unveil his EP titled “Circuit Garden” on Bosconi Records. With a musical journey as Datafreq spanning 2 decades, and a continuous presence since the mid-80s, he has become a cornerstone in the electronic music scene in Toronto. “Circuit Garden” is a six-track collection that pays homage to Datafreq’s distinctive blend of video game music and electro sounds. A true sonic pioneer, he brings forth his unique musicality that has resonated since he started the project in 2004. This EP features select tracks from his debut album, “Fun for the Whole Family,” originally released in 2006 on the esteemed Berlin label Das Drehmoment. Notably, these tracks, (never before available on vinyl with the exception of “Just Like 1981”), have been reimagined with slight remixing, editing, and remastering to seamlessly align with the vinyl format. Two brand-new tracks make their debut on this release, adding an extra layer of exclusivity and elevating the EP to a truly special status. The unmistakable “Datafreq” sound is prevalent throughout the EP, characterized by eclectic electro techno and vocodered tunes. Infused with a melodic approach, the tracks remain dancefloor-friendly, showcasing Datafreq’s exceptional talent for crafting engaging melodies. The first track is a mesmerizing progressive house tune with a future retro hi nrg bass line and a hypnotic dreamy arpeggio worth of the early 90’s italo techno & house heritage, in the style of artists like Mystic Force, still with a contemporary attitude both in the house groove and in the sound choice, truly uplifting! “Trail Of Bones” is a badass ravey jam with a crazy and prominent fat bass line going all along the track, inspired by some old school acid trance aesthetics with a funkier feeling
On the flip side “Nove Code di Cristallo Grigio” sounds like an intergalactic trip to some other techno galaxies lead by uncoordinated synthetic structures. “Gattonero” closes the ep with its quirky mood, essential and with a bouncy groove that makes it a super efficient tool for the floor.

A long and awaited return to todays scene is that of Gareth Oxby, a very active producer since the 90s with numerous Techno, House and Breaks projects among which the prodigious UK label Alien Funk Movement stands out; of which he is the renowned father and founder. Bosconi is proud to include this eclectic and talented producer in its stable through one of his most sought-after aliases, "4th Planet Side Steppers". The EP, titled "Warning", celebrates the UK sound of those early years of which he was one of the greatest exponents and pioneers and which is coming back to prominence today: the foundation of the Tech-House sound, a kind of hybrid dense with spatial and futuristic sounds where electro, dub and breakbeat that merge into the 4/4 rhythm creating a unique and incomparable blend. It starts with the homonymous "Warning" track, where sharp drum sounds support a galaxy of alien bleeps and textures, transporting you into a pacific trance state, a maze-like and hypnotic dimension that is perfect for late night hours or morning awakenings. The second cut of A side brings a previously released track on Gareth’s own AFM label which has been for long time our secret DJ weapon named "Anti-Matter", a funky, rolling, ultra-groovy monster track; an absolute Tech House killer tune with straight and unmistakeable effects on every dance floor we have played. On the flip side the dreamy, sensual and trippy "Phaeton" closes up this three track EP with its smooth vibe and intelligent electro programmed warm beats giving a special touch to the whole record! With no need for further introduction, the legendary Cleveland and now Berlin based producer Dan Curtin lands on Fabio Della Torre’s Tuscan label Bosconi with 2 previously unreleased gems from his 90’s DAT archive. The release is further enriched by Curtin's very first live rework of one of the tunes. After Releasing on such labels as Headspace, 7th Sign, and Sublime and with the recent repress of his historic Silicon Dawn album on Peacefrog including the supremely modern Population 2, here comes the previously unreleased Population III which moves even more forward into the outer realms of space and time. On the long side the farsighted and futuristic Metamorphic label boss delivers this marvelous continuation of the previous version taking it more into straight forward techno and even further into deep minded synth experimentation and acid bleeping. On the Flip we have a modern live rework of Population III which Dan has been playing around the world in his current live set. The live version goes a bit more into electroid landscapes but still maintains a straight groove for electro and techno purists most playful moments. The third cut is the epic acid banger and previously unreleased Redshift, showing already at those times that Dan Curtin was defying conventions and pushing boundaries and pioneering what we can now consider modern dance music while displaying melting innovation and deeply felt emotional content at the same time.

Et Bosconi Soundsystem finally has landed on the label with a four tracker EP. Born as a DJ project orginally in 2009, BSS features three of the central personalities those have defined in a way the sound mark of the label through the years since its foundation: label owner Fabio Della Torre, Mass Prod and Rufus. This debut release has named "Back To Front" not only as a work and life statement but also recall one of trio's very intimate baddest habits (please do not misundertand..) First scandalous cut of the Front Side "( She Wipes ) Back To Front" is the powerful combination of a bouncing and tight 909 groove plus a pulsating fat bass enriched here and there by psychedelic synth lines properly made to excite your pelvic moves between the decks and on the dancefloor.A2 is a voyeuristic happy, funky, progressive and glorious deep techno weapon for the ecstatic peak time moments. After “Theory Of Strings (part1)” Ennio Colaci and Fabio Della Torre present the second part! The first track of A-side is the one who gives the title to the whole project, " Theory Of Strings", a dubby groover with a funky and psychedelic feel in the vein of a more coloured and dirtier Studio 1 or Soundhack. The "Feeling good vibe" keeps going relaxed and chill with the smart up and down mood of the track "Forty Degrees" while on B side Minimono get drier, minimalistic and more mysterious with the subtle after-hour jam of Rewind. This strong effort by Fabio and Ennio ends trough the cinematic atmosphere and the romantic piano notes of the gentle but raw closing act "Still Mine". Mind the Strings!

Following the well acclaimed comeback on Bosconi "Gang of Fools EP" and the releases on Robsoul and Vibraphone, Fabio Della Torre and Ennio Colaci aka Minimono strike again with a double release that might be considered as a split album in 2 vinyl records named "Theory Of Strings".First of two Eps starts with the chuggy, jazzy and edgy vibe of "Get The Groove", an intelligent partial rework of an underground disco-not-disco old gem. Second cut gets more funky-filtered, bouncing and suspended with the fresh broken atmosphere of "Back in Dc" .On the B side Fabio and Ennio go back to jazziness adding more broken grooves, some twisted rhodes solo goodness and a persistent hypnotic driving feel to the track "Actually", and then ending this first part with another smooth filtered and toolish winner for the summer called Meningi. Fabio Della Torre's Bosconi Records is back with another release by homegrown artist Rufus featured this time by a remix from the now established talent from the Bosconi nursey Herva. Just an year after his latest "Black & Blues EP" released on sister label Extra Virgin, the Florentine but Berlin based producer this time delivers on the main offshoot some tougher and more sophisticated sound textures, quite different comparing to his previous works, within his new "Stranger In Paradise" 5 tracker vinyl: A side begins with the hypnotic and rolling funky breaks of "Stranger Than Paradise", a dreamy and ethereal banger delighted by a heavenly melody floating all along the track. The second cut consists in definitively more outrageous, psychedelic, infernal atmosphere, intermixed by horny and thoughtful whispering vocals which characterizes the afro-tech funk groover and indecently named track "Slave Of Pussy". On the flip side instead Rufus goes deeper and weird with high filtered grooves and wonky bass lines within the sneaky jam of "A Mirage" , getting then slightly more classic deep-styled on B2 with the gentle laid-back mood of "Sleepy Song". We are finally happy to end this release with the return of another homegrown Bosconi artist, recently releasing also for labels such Planet Mu and Delsin, which is Herva, who drops a not conventional but extremely forward thinking ethno-idmish/broken-beat re-interpretation of Rufus original "Stranger Than Paradise"

Six years after his Mila Ep, uk techno artist Lee Renance, better known as 100hz with James Chapman, is finally back on Bosconi with another strong 3 tracker release called "Circles", a combination of very sought-after gems and reworks of old tunes: the record begins with the gentleness of the groovy and jazzy vibe of that mega rare undergound deep anthem named "Shoot The Bar", a track originally out in 1998 on Pacific Records which many people have been probably waiting since long time for a repress, while on B side the artist presents himself under one of his more obscure aliases as Mr Format, going trough more voodooish and hypnotic dub techno territories with a pitched down version of Primary Colours track, an undiscovered and carefully crafted secret weapon previously released on his own imprint Format Records. Last cut of the record is a totally renovated version of the track Oliva out in 2009 on the greatest french Logistic Records. In this new version , “Oliva Funk” epic strings and pads merge with compelling and engaging beats creating a levitating effect which drive the mind and the mood of the dancefloor into dreamy soundscapes.
