For the 10th release label owner Barbara Preisinger is gathering seven unreleased tracks on two seperate 12inches, by previous Slices Of Life artists as well by producers who have a relationship to the label through frindship, events and personal support. Each track presents the personal unique style of it´s producer, but all have a feeling for warm sounding organic house grooves in common, what Slices Of Life stands for since the beginnings in 2009. 6 weeks after SOL10.1 hit the stores with contributions by THE MOLE, BAAZ, DANA RUH and JOHN TEJADA, the 2nd part of the SLICES OF LIFE compilation celebrating release number 10 is following: The A side of SOL10.2 is dedicated to the legendary Berlin producers and Dj duo CAB DRIVERS: „A Complex Situation“ catches us with its irresistable swinging groove and filigrane synth lines. OSCAR SCHUBAQ, DJ, Producer and co-owner of the label Tardis Records, starts the B-side with „K-Beat“, a rough jackin house tune, which takes a surprising turn to a sunny sounding swing during the 2nd part. The great finale of SOL10 comes from the parisian Deeply Rooted label owner and extensive vinyl collector DJ DEEP. With „Spices Of Life“ he created a wonderful, atmospheric and deep piece of music carried by rolling basslines and playful melody fragments.

Alexander Skancke - This Go This Way
2
Alexander Skancke / Foehn & Jerome - Wind Sync
3
Alexander Skancke - Public Trouble
ALEXANDER SKANCKE´s exciting debut ep for SLICES OF LIFE, including a collaboration track with FOEHN & JEROME.
Alexander Skancke is a Berlin-based DJ, producer and rising talent within Europe´s underground house scene. The young Norwegian has made a sizeable impact on the electronic music scene, dating from way back to his early releases on Neostrictly, to the internationally respected releases on his own label Quirk. Entrenched in his love for vinyl and analog productions, Skancke is imbued with a passion for the very roots of house music, but has also kept his ears open far beyond the boundaries of electronic music.
Skancke’s excitement for analogue is reflected in all aspects of his life: from his work at Bikini Waxx (a record shop in Berlin specializing in second-hand vinyl), to his fascination with vintage studio gear, all culminating in his music having a wonderfully raw and organic feeling.
The 3 tracks that make up his “Public Trouble” ep showcase Alexander Skancke´s knowledge of the history of dance music without copying the originals, but instead creating his own unique signature:
The A side - “This Go This Way” sends you on a crazy acid dream, driven by a hypnotic unstoppable beat with Alexander Skancke´s voice appearing out of the ether, before vanishing away.
For the B1 track “Wind Sync” Alex teamed up with his label mates and renowned DJ- and Producer-Duo Foehn & Jerome at their studio in Berlin. Together they've masterfully crafted a light footed minimal house track with a slightly melancholic touch.
The EP´s title track “Public Trouble” truly shows off Alexander Skancke´s love for deep minimal funk: An ultra groovy piece of music based around tight beats and warm basslines, topped off with a funky stripped back synth line.

BAAZ - Chummy
Repress!
After an amazing debut 12inch for Slices Of Life in April 2012, we are happy to announce a follow up EP of BAAZ with three massive and rolling house pieces. „Swimmer“ on the A-side comes right in time for the 2013´s summer season with it´s strong driving beats and drifting chords that awake your lust to run through high summer grass. „Can´t Take It Away“ (B1) is a warm sounding bundle of energy with weird vocal samples and light footed percussions that fit perfectly on a cosy dancefloor. „Chummy“, the 2nd track on the B side, starts with a very dry and simple 4/4 bassdrum + snare figure before building up into a driving dubby disco piece carried by a nicely filtered loop and Baaz´s typical open high hats. The Berlin based Baaz stays true to his unique style of producing house music and again convinces with pure and powerful beat structures, warm basslines, clear strings and floating chords, from which it is difficult to tear oneself away. Baaz - Judy's Bass
2
Baaz - Jeally
3
Baaz - Carbon Hair
Repress!
The third release on SLICES OF LIFE comes from the Berlin vinyl DJ and producer BAAZ, who has been gaining steady growing attention by House Music lovers and DJ's. He is the reason that Daniel Bell reactivated his Elevate label to release a BAAZ 12inch in 2008. This ep and the releases on Agnes' label STHML Audio opened up the door for very productive collaborations with other labels and dj's. The 3 tracks on SLICES OF LIFE show Baaz's focus on deep pure and simple House grooves that roll on massively, and work perefectly without using obvious effects and frills. The A side "Judy's Bass" clearly reveals Baaz's love of fat bassdrums and basslines in combination with classic drum machine and percussion elements while the stringline carries you away endlessly. With "Jeally" on B1 Baaz delves even deeper into percussion programming and creates a perfect deep track for the late hours. Carbon Hair (B2) shows the dubby and darker side of Baaz: a very dub techno influenced house track that is especially driven by warm beats and open high hats. More

Losoul - Ghost Talk
2
Losoul - Idealist Jungle
Slices Of Life is proud to welcome LOSOUL with 2 timeless house groovers.
Losoul is without a doubt one of the more elusive legends of house music. Over the last 25 years he has been forging ahead expressing his own ideas of outstanding club music that not only satisfies the vibe of the dance floor but also takes risks, asks for interaction and demands personal exposure: energetic and ambivalent at the same time.
Since the mid nineties, when Losoul teamed up with the legendary Playhouse label crew, he has continuously developed and refined his characteristic style of house music that captures the essence of the groove while honoring the open spaces between. With this style he is still building bridges between the founders and the following generations of electronic music lovers. The extent of his mastery is evidenced through his comprehensive catalogue of releases on various imprints such as Logistic Rec., Hartchef, Hypercolour, Karat, Tardis and of course his own label Another Picture (founded in 2014).
The two distinctive tracks featured on this Slices Of Life release perfectly represent Losoul’s years of experiences in producing, technical developments and worldwide touring as DJ. Proving once again his particular skills and laid-back attitude yet sounding fresh and thrilling at the same time.
“Ghost Talk” is reminiscent of Losoul’s driving minimal productions of the ‘90s with its trippy atmosphere and spooky morphing voices. “Idealist Jungle” on the B-side leads us into a green, sweaty twilight zone, accompanied by continuously rolling beats and warm basslines.
Like most of Losoul’s productions “Ghost Talk” and “Idealist Jungle” evolve slowly and steadily build their energy over the long distance. Once started you are all at once captivated by the pulsing deep grooves and psychedelic atmospheres and locked into the seductive journey.

Dana Ruh - To Convince
After Dana Ruh highly acclaimed contribution for the SOL10 compilation in 2018, now her 12inch follows with three driving, funky and percussive house tracks! As dj, producer and label owner (Brouquade, Cave Recordings) and co-distribution owner (KMA60), Dana Ruh is one of the driving forces of the Berlin club music scene. Beyond her world-renown dj skills and running a Berlin-based record shop & event space, Dana Ruh has become a prolific producer, who spends every free minute on developing her unique take on electronic music. She releases, not only on her own labels Brouquade and Cave Recordings, but also other imprints like Underground Quality, Ostgut Ton (in collaboration with André Galuzzi) and RDV. Her club music productions are defined by a particular hazy and moody touch. The tracks are well arranged and always contain the right amount of roughness, which lets the music sound alive and organic. With “Still Vase“, Dana Ruh presents three powerful titles from driving and percussive, to funky and stripped down. “My Friendly Fire“ sends us on a hypnotic drive accompanied by warm sub bass frequencies that make your trouser legs flutter. ”Takes Time“ brings you back to reality with its energetic drumming, and the funky, minimal “To Convince“ finalizes this ep with organic percussions and warm sounding strings.

baaz - The Reason
2
baaz - Ancestors Fun
Two deep and driving house tunes by BAAZ! Since the release of his last SOL 12inch „Swimmer“ (SOL5) quite a bit has happened: Baaz founded his own successful label Office Recordings, he has also created a new moniker for his Dub techno productions as "Eric Miller". His love of dubby sounds and echo chambers can be experienced in „The Reason“ and „Ancestor´s Fun“, although it´s obvious that Baaz also stays true to his Deep House roots. He skillfully combines spacial structures with his characteristic driving beats and organic sounds. "The Reason" is a grooving light footed tune with a jumping bassline and develops, step by step, this driving energy, that will not let you go. "Ancestor´s Fun" brings up the energy level with stronger beats and open high hats, but the playful warm sounds and drifting strings keeps the wonderful flow that we love to hear from Baaz´s productions.

3
the mole - Hot Tea Dog Man
THE MOLE is back on Slices Of Life with 3 new tracks and 3 different views on the house music of these days. Two years after "Hang In There Fry Guy" (SOL4) Colin de la Plante continues his collaboration with Slices Of Life. The Canadian producer and DJ is very well-known for his love for a wide range of music, which is reflected in his inspiring DJ and live sets. Though his favour for soulful music always shines through in all his productions, it is most evident in the edits of his "7 Inches of Love" series as well as in the trippy excursions on his own imprint "Maybe Tomorrow". Accordingly, the 3 new tracks for Slices Of Life offers an exciting insight into various musical worlds of Colin de la Plante. "Inhuman" surprises with a higher bpm rate than you might expect from The Mole, but the 8-minute track breathes a warm and humorous funk and at the same time twinkles mischievous from the dancefloor. Almost in contradiction to the A side, "Another One of Those Nights" offers a deep and almost melancholic view on the night and its various side effects. And finally, "Hot Tea Dog Man" links perfectly to "Now I Understand" from SOL4: A hypnotic beat that concentrates on the essentials and a few well set elements that carry the track wonderfully and endlessly. But experience the words of the master himself: "I did hear recently that there were 12 million pigs in Holland, compared to 17 million humans .. That's a lot of pigs... and pig meat is in everything... like some wines ... in the production of wine, gelatine can be used as a clarifying agent. The gelatine reacts with the tannins and bitter substances and absorbs cloudy elements that can then be separated from the drink... but pigs didn't really have much to do with this record... "
