One hundred. Three digits. Finally we've made it and we're proud to announce that we've reached a milestone that every label aims for: the one hundredth release in a continous sequence of catalogue numbers. And what a journey it has been over the course of the past eight years.
To celebrate this once-in-a-lifetime event no-one less than Marco Resmann himself comes up with a dedicated 12" single that's not only named "100" but also comes as a special gold vinyl edition plus gold label prints and seethrough packaging that makes this record stick out amongst many in each and every vinyl lovers collection as well as in every DJ case.
The original version of "100" is a big room monster of a TechHouse tune, providing maximum tension through scattered shakers, carefully arranged synth sweeps and long, strident build ups introducing dark, psyched out and proggy bass and midrange warps leading towards an ultimate climax whenever this tune is hammered through a club rig.
On the flipside we see the 'Jubiläums Mix' of "100" following intense spiralling basslines all through the course of the night whilst layers and layers of ecstatic stabs and a continuous swell of uplifting, positive synths introduces crowds to high-octane levels of buzzing dancefloor energy. What a blast.

It's been more than a year and a half since 'Life About To Change' and the anticipation has been almost unbearable, but the long wait is over as Marco Resmann is finally back on Watergate with his brand new 'Run EP'. Over the course of three tracks Marco displays his production prowess and once again solidifies himself as a creator at the peak of his career. The EP begins with the title track 'Run' and it's a perfectly executed techno anthem bridging an unrelenting drum line with crisp stabs and euphoric blasts of spaced out synths. 'Run' will flawlessly fit into any mood or setting, whether it be a sun soaked open air or a strobe filled, sweaty warehouse. Following the lead on the b-side is 'Hello Again' and it unveils itself to the sounds of singing birds before slowly morphing into a palette of synthetic electronics. As 'Hello Again' grows larger in intensity the more wild it becomes. What almost seems at one point to be a clashing of wild sonic blares reluctantly falls back into a cascade of organic percussion before once again rising to a crescendo of critical mass.
Bringing the EP to an epic close is the magnificently executed 'Es Vedra' and it is by far the most emotional ride of the package. Lush pads and cosmic flutters are laid over an pulsing groove expertly combining two polar opposites resulting in an intoxicating journey through a lucid dream. Overall, 'Run' is a gem of dance floor integrity finely curated by a man who is a master of combining new, avant-garde sounds with a classic procedure. It's good to have you back, Marco!

Following up on the high quality remix effort for Vince Watson's 'Planet Funk' released via Poker Flat in February it's now the time for Berlin's Marco Resmann to serve his first ever solo 12" on Poker Flat. With 'Basic Motion' the head of the highly respected Upon.You-label and founding member of the infamous duo Luna City Express explores the deeper realms and moodier corners of today's Tech House terrain. Starting the journey with the highly seductive title track 'Basic Motion' based upon a subtle, but well catchy bassline motif that's accompanied by raw and slowly accumulating synth tones which finally fall together, building a stirring, intoxicating melody inevitably causing a heavy buzz on the dancefloor, we see Marco Resmann at his very best here, catering an instant classic that's not meant to leave DJ's boxes for ages.

Our Label- Director, A&R, Division Manager and passionate caretaker Marco Resmann bethinks of his musical roots. In between contributing a track on the "Watergate X Compilation", taking piano lessons and installing VDSL kabels, the lover of analogue sound production has found the time to lay an egg in his nest with "Roots". It has become an old-school egg! With a thick shell, a soft core and " A-Side" kindness. Although his 360° stress in his Upon You horst, one can definitely tell that he still finds the privacy in his studio to breed: for A-Sides, "Housegeflügel" as well as "Roots" and dark spooky B-Side pearls- in this case named "Twelve".

Marco Resmann has done it. The studio computer is purring again like a satisfied kitten and those dark technical storm clouds have passed by. To prove that a streak of technical bad luck which he has just gone through can sometimes enhance creativity he has come up with this little gem of a new single "Drop Outz" . On A1 we have "Mal Pas" (transl: difficult road) which is an ode to the suffering he went through with his computer. But don't worry, its just a name, the track itself is as light and sweet as the stuff that we love from Marco. B1 is also little beauty, no dark clouds to be found here either, and B2, a cracker called "What's Cracking" is the ultimate proof to anyone that the sun always shines at Upon You. Marco Resmann sent out a few remix invitations to selected producer-friends throughout the world last year. The idea was to remix one of his favorite tracks on Upon You. The results are now in and will now be used to usher in the new musical year 2010. The industrious Belgian Ramon Tapia has managed to make it on to A1 with his remix of "Sao Paulo Nights" with his knee deep bass harmonies mixed in with beautiful finger lickin' house chords. His second version will be an exclusive digital track with a touch more percussion appeal. A2 is a remix of "Paradise Lost" from The Echonomist, our Greek musical magician has turned this track into a subtle pusher that just won't let you go. We are very pleased to have him as part of our Upon You Label inventory! Our colleague Acumen who first appeared on our radar screens when we discovered his releases on his own label "Time has Changed " has taken Marco's latest release, "I Will Love" and is happily using a house kick to bounce the B1 ball over the dance floor without forgetting to score the crucial final basket. Our Frenchman Varoslav has taken the same track to the 3 point line but has used a different throwing technique, maybe something that he learned from his label boss Guy Gerber from "Supplements Facts" Records. Holger Zilske aka Smash TV and Emerson Todd have also elegantly mastered "I Will Love" giving it a special touch for the Upon You download area. More

As a small appetiser to his album, Marcos is leading us to the powerful wing beat of his over dimensional moth, which arises on A1 like Phoenix from the ashes into the night-club sky. And in the blaze of his drumfire glows continuously his passion for ethno-percussions, which he knows how to use like barely no one else in the electronic context. The sexual performance-power, which lives within his drum-avant-garde, turns to meat in capitals like Sao Paolo, whose defoliated nights were build a musical monument on the B-side. Anthony Collins was also aware of its cultural quality in his new interpretation. Two awesome tracks, on cool remix- there you go!

Since their label debut in 2017 with ‘Flower of Cane’, Adana Twins have become firm favourites of the
Oberbaumbrücke crew. From handling mix duties on ‘Watergate 25’ to holding down regular gigs at the
club prior to 2020, the Hamburg duo always deliver.
‘The Curve’ is their first release on WG since 2019’s cracking remixes of Josh Wink’s ‘Higher State of
Consciousness’. The title track is a big bouncy electro cut packed with plenty of groove. A super fun
production sure to bring a smile to your face. ‘Cyrus’ belongs in a motion picture and is epic in
composition. It traverses cyborg breaks before moving into a retro key-laden riff, all the while driven by a

Gorje Hewek follows up last year’s impressive ‘Life EP’, with a new 5-track package brimming with
collaborative spirit. The work also marks the Watergate label debut of the legendary Hernan
Cattaneo.
The artist is a mainstay of the All Day I Dream collective and a master of intricately woven electronic
compositions, which also transfix the dancefloor. For his return contribution to Watergate Records he brings
a string of cohorts in toe – Dulus, Polo & Molac from his excellent Shanti Records imprint, alongside ADID
affiliate Roy Rosenfeld and Argentinean great Cattaeno.
The opener ‘Altitude’ is a dreamy bass-driven heater that unfolds beautifully over an eight-minute period
and is highlighted by a key driven melody that’s both playful and emotive. ‘Astro World’ is an eclectic slice
of organic house that captivates with a string-laden break before dropping down into a rhythmic second
half. The EP’s title track is a silky sunset cut resplendent with twinkling pads that has enough groove to
seduce a dusty dancefloor. ‘Vida’ begins life as a slinky percussive jam, before the dam breaks and a
colourful river of melody drives the track home. A delight. ‘Kaleidoscope’ stays true to its name driven by a
lush chord melody that cascades throughout. A gem made for big moments.

Josh Wink’s ‘Higher State of Consciousness’ gets a respectful touch-up 25 years on courtesy of
the Adana Twins.
The German duo come strong with a pair of remixes, fit for two very different dancefloor scenarios. The
first a smart, stripped back breakbeat version that switches from a sparse percussive soundscape to the
famous acid warbles, before introducing undulating retro trance synths to the composition for a headmelting finish. Remix Two is a driving, four-to-the-floor, rave-focused affair that builds up the 303s with
exhilarating intensity, only letting up in the final moments of the track.

8Kays delivers an inspiring label debut on Watergate Records, as the artistic project of Ukrainian sound-producer and live act Iryna Shvydka reinforces why there’s so much excitement surrounding her with the slick ‘Falling Down’ EP.
A collaborative rich EP, 8Kays links with Italian pair Glowal for the punchy ‘Matemática’, that brings plenty of eerie minor key vibes to the dancefloor thanks to the vocal contribution from Brasilian singer Abrão. ‘Falling Down’ sees 8Kays team up with the Buenos Aires-based producer and live act Juan Hansen for a captivating slice of electronic prog lit up by Hansen’s memorable vox and delicate strings. One for those special end-of-night moments.
Dutch pair Colyn & Beswerda suit up ‘Falling Down’ for a different occasion, adding a tougher backbone, while teasing out all the melodic flourishes to craft a remix that’s functional and stunning in equal doses. The Ukrainian duo have a watertight reputation for crafting stunning dancefloor compositions, having
released music on Life And Death, Soma, Dystopian, Drumcode and Afterlife, the latter home to their
critically acclaimed 2018 album ‘Chasing the Dream’. Their appearances at Watergate have been numerous
over the years, making them an obvious choice to join the label family.
Their Watergate Records debut maiden offering is sparkling. The title track begins as a chugging key-laden
cut before a stirring folky melody rises to the fore with beautiful intent. With its unique sonic signature,
‘Samum’ will stand out in any set. Woo York show a new side of their outstanding musical talent “For this
release we wanted to push boundaries of the melodic techno sound. For Samum we have worked with a
bag pipe, one of the oldest instruments to give the track an almost „housy" note.”
The accompanier is ‘Prophet’, an emotional slice of dance music, hopeful and melancholic in equal doses,
this is custom made for big dancefloor moments.
Accompanying the package are remixes of ‘Samum’ by fellow Ukrainian producer and live act 8Kays, who

Sasha continues to make this year his own as he drops his debut EP on Watergate, 'GameOvr'. The EP features two original tracks, including the long-awaited 'Trigonometry', and first class remixes from Cassy and La Fleur. After his recent critically acclaimed sell-out live shows at the Barbican and his 'Out Of Time' EP on Kompakt, not to mention gearing up for his RESISTANCE residency with John Digweed in Ibiza, Sasha officially confirms his debut release on Watergate Records. 'Trigonometry' has been a highlight in Sasha's sets in recent months and has sparked many a heated debate online, from excited pleas for a Track ID, to urgent demands for a release date. The track is as ethereal as it is compelling, constantly building up to the sublime break down and those iconic chords that have left ravers spellbound worldwide. Swedish born Berlin-based La Fleur puts her stamp on the remix, keeping the riff but adding gravitas with a rhythmic bassline. A vital collective member and resident, JAMIIE steps up for her long-awaited debut EP on Watergate Records.
The artist has been a regular at the club stretching back to 2016, when she joined RISE, the Afro House collective that
runs monthly residencies at Watergate. Despite this, JAMIIE has always gone her own way sonically, exploring deeper
house and melodic tones, alongside the Afro influences.
A constant at Oberbaumbrücke spot during the 2020/2021, she, along with Kristin Velvet were the beating hearts of the
club, hosting the Watergate Worldwide streams every week. This year has been a standout for her playing
Tomorrowland, Exit Festival and supporting Solomun at Watergate, among many other highlights.
Following up label contributions which include ‘Suwedi’, with Niko Schwind that featured on Hyenah’s ‘Watergate 27’
compilation and the fantastic ‘Echoes’ on ‘Watergate 20’ due out November 2020, we’re treated to a generous five-track
package for her maiden EP outing on Watergate Records.
Beginning life during a summer-time sketch session in bed (her favourite spot to start new creative ideas), ‘Voices’ is an
emotive weapon, driven by a captivating synth lead, and chunky Afro-infused bottom end. "’Voices’" is mysterious and is
inspired by our thoughts, our inner voice,” JAMIIE shares. “There’s something truly mysterious and remarkable about our
inner voice, the means by which we make ourselves aware of who we are and what we think and even feel. Our inner
voice is very powerful. It can lift us up and weigh us down. It also makes decisions for us, even when sometimes we
don’t want to listen to it.”
‘Unfold Me’ is a glorious end-of-night future classic, as grandiose synths rub shoulders with beautiful bass melodies,
before a delicate key interlude gives JAMIIE the opportunity to build the energy right back up again. “This has a personal
meaning and again, has to do with the journey inwards to discovered ourselves. Like many other people I am an
extroverted introvert. I think we can be quite confusing and peculiar to others. On the one hand, social and outgoing; on
the other, very guarded, selective and hard to get to know. So, it needs time to unfold the layers to understand an
extrovert introvert person, if they should let you in,” she explains.
The originals are complemented by a trio of tight remixes chosen by JAMIIE, from three artists close to her heart:
Portuguese Afro Tech producer DJEFF delivers a blissfully silky re-work of ‘Voices’; Italian artist Malandra Jr., whose
most notably released on Diynamic, crafts a chugging and cosmic reinterpretation of the title track, while Stil Vor Talent’s
Annett Gapstream sends ‘Unfold Me’ on a dreamy orbit skywards. More

Biesmans, the compilation is an exhilarating snapshot of some of the artists who have shaped Watergate’s
sound; both via the label and through laying down unforgettable sets at the club over a two-decade period.
The highlight heavy compilation charts a course throughout all the deep, dark, euphoric, tech and even
pop-laden corners of house music. Henrik Schwarz navigates a classic course via the vibey ‘You Need
Attitude’, while JOPLYN brings soaring melodies and arresting vox with ‘Lima’. Biesmans is in
characteristic sleek form with the sparkling nostalgic-soaked business of ‘Basic Bro’, before emerging stars
Mia Mendi contribute a driving electro jam ‘Astromech’.
The iconic Anja Schneider is an essential addition. The Berlin icon brings her A-Game with the big piano
chords and gospel vocals of ‘Can’t You See Me No More’ before handing the baton to Extrawelt who
comes strong with a delicious micro house serenade ‘Rover’. Sasha weaves a trademark masterful beast
with ‘Wolf Cider, a dark and twisted weapon that’s packed with plenty of groove and low-end attitude. First
premiered during her excellent Boiler Room session in 2019, Kristin Velvet’s ‘Wanted Competition’ is a
propulsive gem that reinforces her position as one of the most exciting breakout producers of the last two

Adana Twins are always on-point and they don’t disappoint with ‘Nacht’ a deviant, distorted house tool the
belongs in every DJ’s back pocket. Matthias Meyer & Ryan Davis enjoy a superlative history on Watergate
Records and share another ace ‘Genki’, a shimmering, drama-laden piece that morphs into a tougher psyladen finish. New Watergate Agency signing DJEFF crafts an uplifting string-laden ace with ‘Cloud 7,
showing off his impressive musicianship along the way, while Hyenah make an essential contribution with
the funky key-driven houser ‘Going in Circles’. Club resident JAMIIE shares the wicked ‘Echoes’, which is
pacey and hypnotizing in equal measures and brought to life by colourful arpeggios and a latticework of key
patterns. The project rounds out on a stunning note with ‘Tone Trails’, a lilting slice of electronica by
Watergate stalwart Marco Resmann & Lee Jones, which is inflected with organic guitar and dreamy

Biesmans will mix the next volume of Watergate’s prestigious mix series, following in the
footsteps of Ellen Allien, Solomun, Jimi Jules and WhoMadeWho. Going above and beyond
the standard mix compilation brief, the Belgian artist has produced a work consisting
entirely of his own original productions. The project also features collaborations with a
diverse range of artists including Dusky, Mathew Jonson, Adana Twins and Kasper Bjørke,
alongside rising talent such as Shubostar and Mala Ika.
We got our most significant taste of what a special and unique artist Biesmans is last year, with
the release of ‘Trains, Planes & Automobiles’, his superb debut LP. This wasn’t any ordinary album
project, however. Rather, he set himself the task of completing three tracks per week, pairing theaudio with vintage ‘80s film and video clips, sharing the creations to his Instagram followers as he
went along.
Since this point, he’s gone on to develop a live PA, tour it to places including Exit Festival and
Fusion Festival and become a pivotal artist on the W-Agency roster, after already being a solid
member of the club’s crew having worked there as a technician for around 8 years.
His next impressive career stride is ‘Watergate 28’, a joyful neon dancefloor trip that takes in
synthwave, indie dance, nu disco and all manner of celestial tracks in the house spectrum. It’s
also the first Watergate compilation since dOP’s in 2012 to take on the mammoth challenge of
producing all original and exclusive material for the project. An unofficial album per se, with the
thrilling arc of soundtracking a hiplashing on Watergate’s iconic Main Floor.
The scene was set in Mexico in February 2022. The call came through from Watergate HQ and the
deadline was tight: deliver a volume of the club’s esteemed mix series within a three-month
window, the brief stipulating that the mix should have four originals and two collaborations.
Biesmans went sober for a three-month period so he could give everything he had to the project,
swapping the lunchtime beers for sport sessions. When he arrived back in Berlin in mid-February
ready to begin studio time, he was in the zone and immediately begun work completing a sketch
on ‘Smooth Monday’, the track that would go onto to be his luminescent collaboration with the
Permanent Vacation-backed Zombies In Miami. Two weeks into his studio time, it was clear there
was more than enough quality material to not only fulfill, but smash Watergate’s original brief.
What followed was no less than 17 original tracks and 13 collaborations – arguably the most
ambitious in Watergate’s compilation history.
Already in touch after releasing on their imprint 17 Steps in 2019, he sent three sketches to Dusky
and the nostalgia-soaked ‘Back in the Daze’ was the shimmering result. The vibes flowed like a
dream when he linked with Kid Simius for the funky nu disco gem ‘Me Gusta Acid’, even
recording Kid’s vocals in one-take. A visit to his hero Mathew Jonson’s studio for the day saw the
birth of the pumping piano-laden houser ‘Quantum Computing’, a project highlight. After bonding
over their shared love of cosmic synths in Tulum this year, Biesmans invited South Korean artist
Shubostar into his studio to create the wavy ‘80s inspired creation ‘Across the Universe’.
Biesmans likewise mined inspiration wherever he went, his track ‘March for Peace’ was created
off the back of attending a rally to support Ukraine.
Biesmans pieced together each track like a jigsaw puzzle, building up sonic moods throughout.
“Sometimes I would do three tracks in one day, or set specific moods. For example, if someone
sent me some powerful chords, then I decided to do an intro track with that. Then I started to put
some artists together like a puzzle, connecting the artist with the position in the mix.”
The resulting mix is an exhilarating technicolour journey. From the immense opener ‘Away’ with
one half of dOP’s Vandesande, to the woozy arpeggiated bliss of ‘Holiday’ with Kasper Bjørke and
the synth-drenched breakbeat euphoria of the Biesmans solo cut ‘All Day Every Day’, it’s a
highlight-heavy 78-minute ride.
“Even though this is (sort of) another album, the concept is definitely different. I've approached
this project as a DJ mix. When I record a podcast or mixtape, I like to take the listener on a
journey. Starting of beatless and moving slowly into the party/dancing mood. I also felt that I had
to step away from the album sound of last year. I don't want to keep on repeating myself, but I still
have a love for synth sounds so it was important to explore new territory with these elements. The
collaboration part made it also a super interesting project in which you already get inspired by
whoever you work with. I also think that speed played a big role in this project, the whole thing
was done in less than 3 months.” - Biesmans

Rising UK duo Mia Mendi returns for their second outing on Watergate Records with the retro-tinged
Robosynapse EP.
The label debut of Mia Mendi was a notable 2021 highlight for the Oberbaumbrücke imprint. Titled 'Ubi’, the
EP was a collaboration with Thomas Gandey and demonstrated their full-bodied dancefloor approach,
injecting their unique sound signature into a modern progressive house palette.
‘Robosynapse’ is no less exciting (or fun). The title track is a plump nu wave houser, driven by soaring retro
synths, a gutsy electro bassline and an 80s guitar solo. ‘Simulated Reality’ buzzes and hums, seven minutes
of emotional electro and crispy drumlines, before handing the baton to ‘Cyborg String’, which continues the
dreamy throwdown.
Alan Dixon makes his first contribution to Watergate Records and re-fashions ‘Robosynapse’ into a glistening
cosmic-tinged beast, amplifying the focus on the guitar lead. Fresh off her label debut with the excellent
‘Mind Control’ EP, Henri Bergmann makes a welcome return to re-work ‘Simulated Reality’ into a powerful

Blazing newcomer Henri Bergmann makes her full EP debut on Watergate Records with the captivating ‘Mind Control’ EP.
Building a buzz via impressive releases on her label Automatik, the Londoner has picked up support from
everyone from Dixon, Solomun and Maceo Plex. Indeed, mention the Dodi Palese Remix remix of her track
‘Protection’ to any clued-up melodic house fan and you’re likely to be met with a blissed-out response, so
beloved was the cut, which also ended up in Tale of Clubs’ top 10 for 2021.
Her maiden voyage on the Oberbaumbrücke home label is a tour de force of chugging house that
encompasses new wave, electro and progressive elements, with a strong cast of collaborators and remixes
along the way.
Pushing herself creatively during the lockdown, this EP is the first time we’ve heard Henri utilise her voice on
her own productions, and the resulting work is a treat. The title track is a team-up with Biesmans who brings
his distinct retro sound signature to the track, while Henri’s vox elevates it to another level. ‘Our Time Has
Come’ is a punchy dancefloor gem propelled by her own vocals and a classy psychedelic synth line. ‘We
Just Keep On Going’ brings bags of robotic soul to the table, as Henri’s husband Wennink takes to the
vocoder, alongside a mystical lead melody. Stephan Jolk returns to the label following his excellent
‘Freedom’ EP in April, re-working ‘Mind Control’ into a muscular weapon. Meanwhile Echonomist, who is
notable for his appearance on WhoMadeWho’s Watergate 26 compilation, also takes his hand to the title
track, re-fashioning it into a tough bass-driven electro cut that’s beautiful and brain-scrambling in equal
doses.
