When you think about italian crime movies, one of the first names to get to your mind is probably Franco Micalizzi, the maestro behind terrific and unforgettable soundtracks like Napoli violenta and Italia a mano armata. A 1969 co-production between Cinevic and Rai TV for a mini television series that was aired in 3 parts - April 17 to May 1, 1969 - directed by Dino Bartolo Partesano, under the production of Pino Passalacqua, and played by Valentina Cortese, Oreste Lionello and Paolo Villaggio. The promotional record, printed by CAM in 1969 and produced by Giuseppe Giacchi, features easy-listening instrumental material, performed by the orchestra directed by Maestro Ferrio, the 4 + 4 choir by Nora Orlandi and the voices of Olympia and Peppino Gagliardi in the songs "Sensitive Creature" and "Strange People", with lyrics written by Antonio Amurri and Partesano himself. Composed and orchestrated by Gianni Ferrio. Artistic production by Franco De Gemini.

Piero Umiliani writes music for the Rai TV documentary produced by Gigi Martello and Lionello Torossi for Fremantle Italiana in 1964 titled "Il Dono del Nilo", directed by Corrado Sofia, with whom the Florentine musician will collaborate several times for television tuning. Originally printed by CAM on LP and 7" "The Gift of the Nile / Arab Market ", both very rare and sought after, contain exotic flavors and world-easy listening. These sessions were recorded made in Rome in September of 1964 with the orchestra directed by Umiliani himself and the participation of singer Tawfik Yussr.

The first release in the Crime Combo series, in collaboration with the BEAT Records Company and for the fisrt time on vinyl, is the soundtrack to the Italian "polizziottesco" movie "Italia A Mano Armata". The movie was directed in 1976 by Franco Martinelli.
The soundtrack is an excellent strength test by maestro composer Franco Micalizzi that for this movie has created a varied and passionate score, tapping the wind sections into an irresistible seventies funk crescendo and alternating melodic themes. The soundtrack feature the track "The No-Peace Pursuit" that was later on selected by Quentin Tarantino for his Grindhouse Movie "Death Proof". If you love 70ies crime soundtracks, this is a must for your collection!
