L_cio DOC Records welcomes L_cio for a beautiful full-length album entitled ‘Poema’. L_cio is a Brazilian artist who brings his own flute playing to his music. He has previously collaborated with the likes of Portable on the huge hit ‘Surrender’ and is a live act who has held residencies at plenty of key clubs in Brazil. He’s also toured all over the world from Egg London to Robert Johnson in Frankfurt and released on labels like Perlon, Soul Clap Records and D.Edge. His eight-track album is an emotive affair with deep house grooves embellished with his own spine tingling instrumentals and flute. ‘Paqe’ kicks things off with five minutes of springtime sounds and fluttering flutes that carry you off into clear blue skies. ‘Canto’ is more driving, with crisp drums and synth stabs all getting you into a groove. ‘Forte’ then drops into techno mood with powerful kicks and busy snares then ‘Complet’ re-sets with two minutes of blissful flute lead ambience that is utterly calming. ‘Poema’ is another beautiful interlude with floating synths and shimmering synths and ‘Avante’ brings back house drums with dramatic synths and icy hi hats. ‘Canto2’ again blesses you out with more exquisite flutes and some melancholic organ work and closer ‘Lagoa’ is a dreamy track with animal sounds, flutes and languid chords all encouraging you to get horizontal. . “Chico Buarque Construção Revisited” by L_cio is a beautiful debut project part of a DOC series of releases combining classic Brazilian names with DOC artists and producers. L_cio (Laercio Schwantes) the man with the transverse flute known for some of the freshest and unique tracks coming out from Brazil is behind this gemstone. Increasingly building a legacy of fans following his live performances and recent releases on DOC Records (Vazio; Traffic; People Talk; Schwantes), this man is a non-stoppable 30 hours machine gun. On this long awaited 2-track limited edition vinyl release, L_cio and Gui Boratto kept the roots of this classic track “Construção”. However they added all the proper elements of a techno dance floor knockout. By inserting malicious baselines, flutes and strings they generated aggressive melodies while keeping all characteristics of this epic song.

Paula Chalup is one of the most important figures of the underground Brazilian electronic scene, and has been at the epicentre of each of the revolutions throughout these almost 20 years down the road. Last summer, a stunning single called "Wish" (FM X / Wish 001) made quite a splash in the international techno community. It was released on a limited edition picture vinyl only and delighted listeners worldwide with its intimate melodies, lush harmonies and organic undertones. Composed in memory of Muddy Waters, the bluesman that electrified the Delta blues, it came from the hands of ELEKFANTZ, a project completely unknown to most floor hounds: speculations about the originators ran rampant and the name Gui Boratto was brought forward more than once. Now, the curtain is lifted with DIGGIN' ON YOU on the new Kompakt-distributed label outfit D.O.C., revealing two incredibly gifted musicians: Daniel and Leo first met 20 years ago, when they played together in a blues band. Leo continued his carreer as a professional musician while Daniel started to discover a new musical path. The latter was born and bred at the electronic music temple in South America, later becoming a resident DJ and local hero, known as the right guy to prepare the dance floor and set up the right mood. He's one of the finest DJs of the Brazilian new wave of electronic aficionados. Leo is a professional drummer, singer and composer since the age of 15. He played and recorded with some of the greatest artists in Brazil. After two decades, they met up again and created "Wish"... and it was indeed Gui Boratto who heard it first, deciding that not only this was music he'd love to see released, but also a talented duo he absolutely wanted to work with, becoming their manager and collaborator in the process.
