Always keep moving, never stand still; a motto that Dapayk & Padberg have been following consistently for more than ten years in every respect. For nearly three decades sought-after musician, producer and machine enthusiast Niklas Worgt has researched diverse club sound effects with countless projects, while singer Eva Padberg is an internationally renowned high fashion model. Since 2003 they have been traveling and performing together as Dapayk & Padberg. They are passionate sound nomads who capture acoustic impressions of their exciting journey. Each album is a sound logbook, which captures memories in the form of beats, tunes and skits. With the release of their last album “Smoke” (2013) Dapayk & Padberg moved to a listening oriented
direction, that also works perfectly off the dance floor. The new single "Sink This Ship" underlines their
decision to follow this path in the future ... maybe even with their upcoming album "Harbour" later this
year. On "Sink This Ship" Eva Padberg unfolds her matured voice, which shows more confidence
than on previous records. Dapayk skillfully puts her voice in a common scenery, where the straight
beats are long over and where is space for extravagances and inventiveness.
However, this is not a radical change turning away from the club sound. Two of the most sought-after
remixer artists at the moment, Robot Koch and Bebetta, ensure the suitability for the dance floor.
Robot Koch skillfully disassembles (for which he is known) the original. Primarily he builds his version
on the emotional base of Eva's vocal part and Dapayk's warm bass line. However, on the flip side,
there is almost a contrasting change. The slight melancholy of the original track gives way for a typical
Bebetta Techhouse Beat, that flows through the club in a dreamy, yet simply irresistible manner. More

In September 2013 Mo's Ferry presented the fourth album “Smoke” by Dapayk & Padberg. Dark, gloomy and atmospheric – it should be more listening, than dance. Now, with the release of the first remixes the Berlin-based duo as well as renowned artists from the Mo's Ferry label family serve the dancefoor, again. Since the release of the album their track “Silent Fireworks” has been a candidate for a 12” single. And a remix by Marek Hemmann and another edit by Dapayk complete this vinyl perfectly. Marek Hemmann turns the original in a lively, ear-catching hymn for every sun worshipper. He makes use of the full toolbox from ultra harmonic basslines to pleasing melodies. Dapayk sat down again and formed a new version of this track with focus on danceability. Very laid-back the remix grooves into your ear. But it keeps the longing mood of the original version by spreading the lead vocals in far distance. The second track on the b side is the album version, for comparison. More

It‘s the hour before sunrise and while somewhere the remains of last nights party beats are hovering in the air, the wind carries broken scraps of a singer/ songwriter piece through the haunting haze your way. The night made way for a new day. A day, when everything will be different. Change, transformation, developement- these have always been the motor behind Berlins electronica duo Dapayk& Padberg. On their 4th longplayer they might now have made the most uncompromising step during their 10 year carreer in wich they have become one of europes most fascinating Clubacts. Their magic formula? Looking for alternatives. With their longplayer „Smoke“ they bid a temporary farewell to the dancefloor. They are taking new paths, searching, trying new, never before seen patterns. These paths led the duo from the golden hills of the Provence to the dark autumnal lowlands at the border between scotland and england. The influence of those places is felt throughout the whole record with its atmospheric hybrid-tracks. After their last album „Sweet Nothings“ with its summery/ funky sound Dapayk& Padberg are now opening the door to a gloomy-melancholic world. Dapayk& Padberg‘s albums have always been snapshots of their current inspirational and emotional world- with „Smoke“ they have now created their most consistent and self contained collection of New Release Information songs to date. Against all expectations, sometimes even against their own nature as artists, letting go of all too familiar and comfortable structures. „Smoke“ is all about overcoming those lines between different genres, letting go, opening their mind to the new, „without worrying about fitting into a certain niche or having to compromise“, Eva adds. „When we had the structure for about two thirds of the album set up, we realized that we‘re heading into some dark waters. Released in February, Dapayk & Padberg's Sweet Nothings LP showcased an impressive grasp of contemporary electronic music, designed for headphones and dancefloors alike. Now, six months later, Stil vor Talent delivers a remix package that presents the reworks of competition winners Ariel Curtis and dry/wet dreams, as well as remixes by Ryan Dupree and Dapayk himself. Kicking things off, Ryan Dupree offers a deep chugging house reinterpretation of title-track 'Sweet Nothings', on which melancholic pads make way for a heavy-hitting piano and synth workout, while the original's mesmerising vocals breathe over a solid bassline. Next up, 'Backyard', one of the album's mysterious standout songs, gets the Dapayk four-to-the-floor treatment: his club edit animates with crisp clicks and pulsating bass, ideal for the peak time. The winners of our remix competition then share the B-side, offering two very different takes on 'Fluffy Cloud'. First, things get positively out of hand on dry/wet dreams' remix - an electronic big band fronted by Padberg gets our legs swinging as wild bleeps, sawing synths and deep horns stumble through the room. Ariel Curtis then takes things back to more familiar territory by creating an incredibly smooth deep house mix, perfectly suited for those sunny days thanks to a solid groove and those cooling pads. A couple of months after the release of Sweet Nothings, Dapayk & Padberg are once again treating the vinyl-heads amongst us to a 12" consisting of a sunny selection of the album's core material, just in time for spring.
Kicking off the A-side, 'Berlin Summer Nights' is nothing short of an anthem: classic rave sounds of epic proportions glide through an arrangement of bouncy beats, crisp percussive work and hopeful vocals until a powerful breakdown delivers the hands-in-the-air moment. This year, summer has come early. Next up, 'The Sun Came Up' bedazzles with a pumping beat and robotic vocals, while a progressive synth lead helps along the track's love lyrics, turning this into a truly stunning musical moment, which already proved its power at Sweet Nothings' heart.
On the flip, Dapayk & Padberg present the album's opener, the trippy 'Too Lazy'. Here, we're dealing with a rather brooding afterhours number that is equal parts paranoid and mesmerising as a wonky bass vibrates under dubbed out pads, eerie synths and vocal whispers. The perfect antidote to the cheery A-side!

Opposites attract: that's perhaps the first thing that comes to mind when listening to Niklas Worgt and Eva Padberg's new album, Sweet Nothings. The pair, better known as Dapayk & Padberg, join the Stil vor Talent family for their third full-length effort, a natural decision after the success of Dapayk's recent The Little Things You Do and Let Go EPs. Similar to their previous LP oeuvre, as well as Dapayk's solo work, one is simply astonished by the diversity, intertextuality, coherence and playfulness of the end result, something that must be attributed to the experienced duo's wide-ranging set of influences. Work on the LP commenced two years ago and stretched across several continents. From the beach on Bali, via Miami, Los Angeles, Berlin and a ski chalet in the Austrian Alps, stunning and remote locations were to be the spectacular backdrop for Dapayk & Padberg's creative process. Thus, one encounters soft and harsh sound textures, dark and light images, sonic euphoria and sadness as well as lyrics of love and loss throughout the tour de force that is Sweet Nothings.
Things kick off with the trippy 'Too Lazy', a brooding afterhours number, which is equal parts paranoid and mesmerising as a wonky bass vibrates under dubbed out pads, eerie synths and vocal whispers. A bold move by Dapayk & Padberg as artists of lesser confidence might have opted for a lighter opener. Next, 'Play' immediately delivers the antidote however, reversing the evening's proceedings back to the peak time. A housey beat pushes through muffled crowd noises and is backed up by a vocal repeatedly urging us to 'play it out / play it loud'. The real strike of genius is the quirky piano here, which wouldn't be out of place on Berlin's most notorious dancefloor. On title track 'Sweet Nothings', Dapayk & Padberg's sound takes another turn, presenting us with a deep but forceful groover, whose distorted high-hats and trancey synth stabs create a vibe both euphoric and weirdly subdued. The lyrics, moreover, emphasise the duality at the core of the album as Padberg ponders 'you're good for me - you're bad for me'.
Moving on, 'Fluffy Clouds' does quite the opposite to what its title suggests - rather than being a soft little piece, we are treated to big-room techno fodder à la Berghain. A skeletal framework of heavy kicks, dark pads, white noise and dense metallics works relentlessly underneath a cold spoken word, proclaiming 'not human, not animal - just a body in motion'. Machine funk par excellence. Next up, 'Endless Game' leaves the four by four rhythm behind in favour of a broken beat structure. A shuddering bass and affectless vocal reminds of The Knife's wonderfully weird moments, which is always a good thing. 'The Sun Came Up' rounds off the mechanical triplet with a pumping beat and robotic vocals, while a progressive synth lead helps along the track's love lyrics, turning this into a truly stunning moment at the album's heart.
With the sharp glockenspiel and old-school hip-hop beat of 'Razorskit', Dapayk & Padberg crafted a short interlude to cleanse the palate, before the gear is shifted once more on 'Berlin Summer Nights'. Anthem alert: classic rave sounds of epic proportions glide through an arrangement of bouncy beats, crisp percussive work and hopeful vocals until a powerful breakdown delivers the hands-in-the-air moment. Continuing seamlessly, the vocals on 'Take These Scissors' again nod to Karin Dreijer Andersson, which is further underpinned by the playful and airy arrangement of weird sounds that bare an Asian twist.
Showing another of the duo's many facets, 'Backyard' enchants thanks to mystical lyrics sung beautifully over a deep quasi-dubstep structure. Marking Sweet Nothings final wind down, the atmospheric song shines through intricately crafted fragility and is the perfect contrast to the previous two tracks. 'Continental Drift' is similarly confident as Padberg's sexy vocals compliment a slow, fat beat and progressive pads. Finishing off the LP, 'Driveby Beauty' offers a final surprise by speeding things up once more: ambient soundscapes float over organic beats, while classic vocal house motifs are left to work their magic effortlessly. All that is left once the last notes play out, is an intense longing for more, as one realises how deeply emotive and versatile a journey Dapayk & Padberg have blessed us with.

sunrise makes it all disappear. Mental Bend captures the magic of that very moment in their dreamy
soundtracks. If you close your eyes, you can see blurry pictures passing in slow motion, accompanied
by their atmospheric songs. Grainy black and white snapshots, fragments of memories lighting up

Mental Bend are all about letting go. Sissip (voc/synth/bass) and Hendrik Havekost (beats/production)
know how to trust their instincts, crafting their hypnotic signature sound, somewhere in between
electronica, ambient and dream pop. Before founding the band in 2013, the two were already shaping
their skills in all kinds of different formations and styles of music. As soon as they got together, they
had a viral mini hit with their song “Take My Hand”, praised on various tastemaker blogs and
generating over 100.000 likes on Soundcloud in no time.
The band's first long play record “One Step” is all about important experiences and decisions, small as
well as big steps, all a part of making progress, which in the end can even be life changing. It was a
step, that recently got Mental Bend their record deal on Mo's Ferry's sub label “Enfant Fenou”. In the
past year, Sissip and Havekost accepted the offer to play a small tour in Japan, even without having
an album to share. And so it was on the other side of the world, that the Berlin Duo ran into a second
Berlin Duo. Of all things in the hustle of the world's most populous metropolis Tokyo, they met their
current label colleagues Dapayk & Padberg, alias Eva Padberg and Mo's Ferry co-founder Niklas
Worgt, who were immediately impacted by Mental Bend's individual sound. “One Step” is the result of
this fateful encounter, and it's no coincidence that it revokes memories of the scores of modern movie
classics like Sofia Coppola's “Lost In Translation” or Jim Jarmusch's “Only Lovers Left Alive”.
Inspired by artists like Portishead, Tricky, Massive Attack, Radiohead and The XX, Mental Bend invent
their very own soundscapes. Spheric loops, trippy downtempo beats and indulging chords make for
massive walls of sound, interweaved by fragile and melancholic vocals from another world. Sometimes
creepy and dark, sometimes ethereal and surreal. It all results into an almost impossible to grasp mix
of organic and electronic elements, mirrored by the band's name; Mental Bend aren't shy of making
sudden turns in their tracks, bending their ideas into unpredictable creative sculptures and walk on
unexpected paths, always challenging their listeners to really listen. “When composing, I try to blend
out my consciousness and only think in pictures and emotions”, says Hendrik Havekost about his
producing. The density combined with the diversity of Mental Bend's music, is a result of two minds
working together, always leaving space for the audience to paint their own picture. “One Step”, is their
creation of a world of sound for the imaginary citizens of Metropolis. A sound matured and perfected
on two tours through Germany, as well as at shows at the Berlin Berghain-Kantine, the C/O Pop
Festival and the renowned Jetztmusik Festival in Mannheim.
“My move to Berlin definitely had an imprinting effect on my lyrics.”, Sissip explains. “You are
permanently surrounded by the most contrary influences and a massive variety of choices. Just like
Hendrik, my writing works on a very subconscious level and I get my inspiration from emotions and the
music itself. The lyrics mostly end up being very metaphorical. They are based on the processing of
my emotions and experiences.” The influence on “One Step” doesn't stop in Berlin and Tokyo. The
foundation is actually laid in New York City, where the Duo wrote the title track in 2015. “That was a
very inspirational experience.”, Sissip continues. “After arriving, we explored New York on foot for the
whole day, following the pulse of the city and sucking everything in. We spent the next few days in the
studio, depriving ourselves from sleep and preserving our impressions in that one song.” This special
atmosphere also comes up in the other tracks, like the restless “Walking”, the claustrophobic
“Invisible”, the hypnotic love song “Madly In Love” or the contemplative pop song “Counting Stars”.
“That song is about finding your place in this huge and confusing world we live in.”, Sissip adds.
“Sometimes you feel like an alien and wish for a place you can call home. I believe that we create
such a place for ourselves with the music we make, providing us with a safe haven, and hopefully a
place, our listeners can retreat to as well.” More

Mental Bend are all about letting go. Sissip (voc/synth/bass) and Hendrik Havekost (beats/production)
know how to trust their instincts, crafting their hypnotic signature sound, somewhere in between
electronica, ambient and dream pop. Before founding the band in 2013, the two were already shaping
their skills in all kinds of different formations and styles of music. As soon as they got together, they
had a viral mini hit with their song “Take My Hand”, praised on various tastemaker blogs and
generating over 100.000 likes on Soundcloud in no time.
The band's first long play record “One Step” is all about important experiences and decisions, small as
well as big steps, all a part of making progress, which in the end can even be life changing. It was a
step, that recently got Mental Bend their record deal on Mo's Ferry's sub label “Enfant Fenou”. In the

past year, Sissip and Havekost accepted the offer to play a small tour in Japan, even without having
an album to share. And so it was on the other side of the world, that the Berlin Duo ran into a second
Berlin Duo. Of all things in the hustle of the world's most populous metropolis Tokyo, they met their
current label colleagues Dapayk & Padberg, alias Eva Padberg and Mo's Ferry co-founder Niklas
Worgt, who were immediately impacted by Mental Bend's individual sound. “One Step” is the result of
this fateful encounter, and it's no coincidence that it revokes memories of the scores of modern movie
classics like Sofia Coppola's “Lost In Translation” or Jim Jarmusch's “Only Lovers Left Alive”.
Inspired by artists like Portishead, Tricky, Massive Attack, Radiohead and The XX, Mental Bend invent
their very own soundscapes. Spheric loops, trippy downtempo beats and indulging chords make for
massive walls of sound, interweaved by fragile and melancholic vocals from another world. Sometimes
creepy and dark, sometimes ethereal and surreal. It all results into an almost impossible to grasp mix
of organic and electronic elements, mirrored by the band's name; Mental Bend aren't shy of making
sudden turns in their tracks, bending their ideas into unpredictable creative sculptures and walk on
unexpected paths, always challenging their listeners to really listen. “When composing, I try to blend
out my consciousness and only think in pictures and emotions”, says Hendrik Havekost about his
producing. The density combined with the diversity of Mental Bend's music, is a result of two minds
working together, always leaving space for the audience to paint their own picture. “One Step”, is their
creation of a world of sound for the imaginary citizens of Metropolis. A sound matured and perfected
on two tours through Germany, as well as at shows at the Berlin Berghain-Kantine, the C/O Pop
Festival and the renowned Jetztmusik Festival in Mannheim.
“My move to Berlin definitely had an imprinting effect on my lyrics.”, Sissip explains. “You are
permanently surrounded by the most contrary influences and a massive variety of choices. Just like
Hendrik, my writing works on a very subconscious level and I get my inspiration from emotions and the
music itself. The lyrics mostly end up being very metaphorical. They are based on the processing of
my emotions and experiences.” The influence on “One Step” doesn't stop in Berlin and Tokyo. The
foundation is actually laid in New York City, where the Duo wrote the title track in 2015. “That was a
very inspirational experience.”, Sissip continues. “After arriving, we explored New York on foot for the
whole day, following the pulse of the city and sucking everything in. We spent the next few days in the
studio, depriving ourselves from sleep and preserving our impressions in that one song.” This special
atmosphere also comes up in the other tracks, like the restless “Walking”, the claustrophobic
“Invisible”, the hypnotic love song “Madly In Love” or the contemplative pop song “Counting Stars”.
“That song is about finding your place in this huge and confusing world we live in.”, Sissip adds.
“Sometimes you feel like an alien and wish for a place you can call home. I believe that we create
such a place for ourselves with the music we make, providing us with a safe haven, and hopefully a
place, our listeners can retreat to as well.” More

After the last singles, Fenou presents #20 as a split EP again. The A-side cut is flled with "Strings And Boxers" by Dapayk solo. Built on a gentle but quite hypnotic analog beat, epic strings and harp sounds unfold next to stylistically confdent electronica instruments, which mutually offer space to be returned in the next part. The B-side "Tage Wie Dieser" by Interelektrika is the soundtrack for a festival of the same name. The summery mood and all the memories are compressed in a 10 minutes Deephouse master piece. Starting with modifed guitar riffs by Leopold Nilski the guys from Interelektrika take you in slowly. A gentle bass line sets in followed by decent percussion elements. No later than in the middle part of the track your whole body vibrates in cloudy bliss. But toward the end you will be released in the same gentle stlye and suddenly you realize that it's hard to tell how much time has passed. Swiss guy Benotmane skillfully combines groovy basslines, melodic synths and carefully adjusted
vocal parts. „Somewhere“ is one of these tracks that carry you out in the morning sun. Later on when
you listen again a melody snippet triggers memories of a perfect moment. The B-side is certainly no
less exciting. Although the mood of „Submarine“ is more quiet, almost dreamier. Eyes closed, you'll get

Mooryc "Simply" was the opening track of Fenou Bouquet Vol.2 mix compilation last autumn. The Pole who's now living in Berlin impresses here especially with the brilliant vocal part. Fenou #17 is the first collaboration of Powel & Lake People aka Lake Powel. This wonderful symbiosis created two really charming tracks. Radioblue's "Take Me Home" on Fenou #16 is the sweetest piece of minimalish housy electronica in a long time on this label. As a mere mortal you cannot resist the dreamy voice of Sylwia van der Wonderland. You just want to fulfil her wish to take her home and get caught up in her world. Solely the music itself makes it impossible to leave the dance floor... and that's thanks to Robert - The Rocket Scientist - who is the other half of this organic duo. With remixes by Umami, Arjuna Schiks and Le Prix you can choose from various styles, but when the last beats fade you're almost forced to flip to B side and back to the A and so on and so forth... More

The topic of „Salome“ fits the two producers Kadebostan and Laolu from Switzerland perfectly. Just listen to their prior releases on Freude Am Tanzen, fenou or Clap Your Hands. The melodies sway back and forth - dreamy and full of peace. The rhythm group plays along and only the most necessary things. And even though the vocal phrases retain their own character, they blend into this musical structure as if they were made for these tracks. The A and the B face show a masterly crafted arrangement. Sebastian Russell is one of the most exciting discoveries on Mo's Ferry's decent 10inch label Fenou. After his first single release „Away“ from 2009 the London producer chipped in a remix for Dapayk's „Decade One“ album and he also contributed the fantastic piece „Follow The Lost Soul“ for the „Fenou Bouquet Vol. 1“ label compilation in late 2010. Now, he returns with the beautiful 2-track record „Far Around Us“ showing his eccentric as well as catchy interpretation of modern House music. The release is extended by three more tracks in the digital bundle including a hypnotizing remix of the title track by Alex Tomb. Dixie Yure is the incarnation of contemporary Oldschool House music from Seville. After some digital only releases it is about time for some haptic experience. With the 10“ record „Show Me Satisfaction“ on Berlin-based label Fenou his sound is rotating on turntables for the first time. Monotonous minimalism ain't Dixie Yure's world. The sound tends more towards 2Step and builds a homogeneous and pleasant mixture with classical House elements and vocal parts. You just can't deny yourself dancing the 'chicken dance' and stepping like hell! Thanks to the funky improvisations extending over the whole track you won't get bored even after listening to „Show Me“ for the hundredth time. The A-Side is just fun - in the club as well as on your couch. You won't miss the low-pitched vocals on the B-Side either as they are typical for the spanish producer. „Satisfaction“ is a little more reduced than „Show Me“ but is enhanced with jazz elements such as pianos and saxophones. It shows that wind instruments in electronic music don't have to be annoying tribal elements. In this example acoustic instruments do not just get mixed up with House music but merge to one groove – absolutely rocking tune! More

Marbert Rocel is a band and you can hear it! Their live performances are more than a normal electronic act. On Compost where the first Marbert Rocel album was released, they already revealed their feeling for emotional house ballads and jazzy sounds. On Fenou they follow this way in a more experimental kind of art. Marbert Rocel's cosy sound is perfect for sunny hours or those before. More

For the second time, Kadebostan opens up an oriental sound bazaar on Fenou with "The Souk E.P." and feeds us with musical delicacies. On side A he charms us with a virtuous sounding clarinet like a snake charmer decoys the hissing reptiles from a basket. Our hips are swaying softly and smoothly under this hypnosis to a beating rhythm and repeating bass lines. On the flip he reveals the veil and involves us in a world of foreign sounding magical music. It is a miraculous mixture of charming vocals, gently, but firmly beginning rhythm and oriental guitar and piano scales. What remains is a moment of magic. More
