Once again its on. After a brief hiatus Secret Society return on their brand new label. Since their very first release, “Our society” support has been building for the deep house outfit from NYC. The debut EP on their label is heavily influenced by the deep, dubby house sounds of New York, Chicago and Detroit.

Since then a well-received remix of the 90s house classic Giv Me Luv' and well-executed re-edits have further added to the buzz around the LA based outfit and their second EP 'Hidden Agenda' will no doubt fuel the fire of hype. Picking up where 'Our Society' left off, 'Doe's Playas' and 'I Can't Understand' pursue a dusty groove led aesthetic made up of well-cut samples. Diva vocal snippets , tribal tinged beats and filtered basslines make for an irresistible feel good combination. 'Secret Agent' explores a deep techy house sound built around a playful filtered synth line and bouncey bass, primed for the dance floors.

Rhadoo has long been in a class of his own when it comes to crafting intricately detailed minimal. Despite doing so for decades, he still finds freshness in his particular milieu, as he does again here on Secret Society, teaming up with multi-discipliniary artist and sound wizard Traian Chereches under the RH.CHER moniker. The cerebral 'Gwen' beings with liquid synths and gloopy sounds, dry hits and kicks and vocal swirls that infuse the whole thing with eerie soul. Giegling main man Edward brings a little more low-end heft to his remix, then 'Zero' gets more wobbly and busy with hiccuping sounds, swaggering drum rhythms and icy hi-hats all sure to sound huge at DC10 this summer. Cabanne remixes with a deft touch that keeps the silky minimal flowing going but with more edge.
