After his successful ‘I’m Made of Stars’ LP last year, Michele Pinna brings his Time Traveler moniker back to his Chronicles Diary imprint with ‘Chapter V: Chronicles from 1957’. Following the label’s concept ‘Chapter V’ is dedicated to his mother Anna Maria and time is being stretched back to her birth, where past and future seem to collide through Time Traveler’s dystopian vision of techno. A1 opens the EP with an industrial killer groove and Time Traveler’s distorted vocals prompting to follow him in an out of control journey. A2 rushes in with a more mental and compulsive beat, where synths and percussions converge. On the flip side, we find B1 infused with hypnotic modular melodies and intense rolling analog grooves. B2 concludes Time Traveler’s journey with its finally crafted, hammering beats, ecstatic bass synths and drum patters.

The LP, titled ‘I'm Made Of Stars / Journal’, takes inspiration from conversations between Pinna and his father on the topics of galaxies, space and of course, time. These converstions were the starting point for the abstract, futuristic and dark work presented on the new LP. The release also draws on Pinna's artistic interests outside of music, presenting a work not just of sound, but one with a coherent visual aesthetic spanning the physical releases of the LP. This visual aesthetic has taken shape through multiple collaborations with the photograpers, stylists and designers Nicolas Mazzei, Danila Tkachenko, Khourianbeer and Cinzia Araia. The resulting album is a twisting sci-fi journey invoking images of a dystopian galactic future. Pinna takes techno and filters it through his own imagination, dismantling it and rebuilding it with an unheard palette of textures, timbres and rhythms. At times disorientating and chaotic and at others, restrained and delicate, the LP has one foot in dance music and the other in emotional and visionary experimentation. The album will arrive on Pinna's new label, Chronicles Diary, set up specififically for this release which can be considered much like a diary or journal of Pinna's emotions and imaginings of the future. A limited edition vinyl release will come with a fitting physical package much like a real black diary. Inside the sleeve can be found prints that are the product of Pinna's several collaborations, and serve to provide a visual reference point to the futuristic vision of Time Traveler. The standard vinyl release, aimed more at DJs, will come in paper moleskine packaging. Alongside these, there will be a cassette published followed by a digital release in the next months.

After the acclaim of Time Traveler’s I’m Made of Stars’ LP last year, followed by two successful EPs on his Chronicles Diary imprint, Michele Pinna brings his Time Traveler moniker back with ‘Remix report II + Chapter IX’ EP featuring powerful remixes by three key names in European and US techno. The EP opens with the veteran visionary Dave Clarke who delivers a complex industrial version of ‘Interstellar’ made of deeply distorted tones and punk influences. Detroit Techno Militia take over with their reinterpretation of ‘B-29’ where a groovy and energetic atmosphere is set from the start, adding a vigorous touch to the track. Brian Sanhaji’s raw techno roots are showcased in ‘Alpha’, with pulsing and dense beats yet precise cuts, turning the track into serious dancefloor material. Time Traveler is closing up the EP with hammering beats and distorted riffs and three menacing tracks in line with his dystopian sci-fi vision.
