The A side promises a great selection with the first two tracks by Kick That Funk & Bonjour sounding like a 1990's Chicago Meets Paris reunion! The 3rd track by Subtle Approach is created using deep dirty sliced and diced samples blended to perfection: Stellar work. Then there is a totally different vibe on the B-side starting off with a Brazilian House groove by DUBraziL surely influenced by the MAW sound no doubt! Next Blackdub's classic Disco meets Detroit piece "Melodies of Dub" gives us a bit of Theo Parish or Kenny Dixon Jr. feeling, HOT! The final track by Pascal Cordoba is jazzy groove touched by Australia's DJ Freestyle, who is on the radar lately due to the Jordan Fields & Roy Davis Jr. warehouse find of "The Session" on Nu Jack City Records. NYC LOFT TRAX exploded onto the scene a year ago with a white label containing unreleased dat tape archives from the 1990's. People lost their minds and it proceeded to sellout of shops in what seemed like minutes! With anything that is from an unknown lost world you have your doubters, but those that know could hear and feel the validity of these authenthic tapes. You seriously could not capture the vibe that obviously was witnessed on that record. The label continued to dig into various sources to release all types of unreleased and amazingly good records. So with the integrity we see this label exercise get excited as this is another selection of lost yet found 1990's DAT tape trax! This is the real deal, let's not kid ourselves now. Lots of hot heat on this one containing deep, dubs and disco! Side note: The City in particular has a Nu Groove Records story attached to it. Basically it is the instrumental of an unreleased remix.
