Wehbba - Balance
We welcome a newcomer to the Audiomatique roster as talented Brazilian producer Wehbba comes to the fore with the glorious ‚3Days'.
Wehbba has explored many zones of the tech-house genre and now brings his expertly polished beats to Steve Bugs pioneering label. The groovy, sample-laden beats of ‚3Days' are a tribute to that very special 60s festival of fun and music. Now some 40 years on we are still finding ways to escape to other zones and Wehbba's solid grooves allow us to do just that!
Prolific minimal/techno producer Mihalis Safras engineers a crafty remix on the flip side, strengthening the groove further with dramatic snare shots and heavy bass surges. Trip-out FX and careful use of the sample material make this a reliably heavyweight tech-house journey.
As another solid stamp on the B side, ‚Balance' shimmers and shakes across the audio spectrum, showing off Wehbba's production skills once again. Smooth, immediate and functional, its spacey beats fuse with classic rhodes chords in a modern-deep house jam.

Robert Dietz, - Pandemic
Cadenza's latest release comes from a man who has made an undisputable impact on a host of A-list labels since he first began spreading his unique and invigorating sound spectrum in 2008. Hailing from Frankfurt and dividing his time between a hectic touring schedule that see's him travel the world and his studio where he compiles his exciting and technically compound productions , Robert Dietz joins Cadenza for the second time with the 'Slinger' EP.
Eclipsing the A-side is the percussion heavy and show stopper "Pandemic". Infused with sheer funk and relentless groove from its initial doors, "Pandemic" screams of sweat drenched dance floors, grinding movement and unstoppable force. Rebellious and cheeky in its sexual Latino wriggle yet modern and forward thinking in its structure; tight guitars pluck excitedly between intricate rhythm sections; so fast and furious that lines blur and beats blend in a never ending affair with the dance floor. Steaming ever forward with wriggling motion, this belting house track cannot help but infect as it rises and falls, pushes and pulls until exhaustion. Fitting its title like a glove, "Pandemic" is infectious and gripping with jazzy piano melodies and thunderous musicality. As a digital bonus, "Amesons Dub Mix" of "Pandemic" encases the original in a steel and echoing interpretation; hardened edges of metallic drums slide between piercing brass projections for a dub infused and contrasting mix.
On the flip, "Red Tops" is an adrenaline pumped fairground ride; exhilarating, dangerous and manic the smacking hand claps, jazzy cymbal crashes and spiralling drum rolls make way for a lush and rolling b-line with speeding hat's. Slurring sensually, Dietz's lyrics of "Like to ride, like to get high, like to feel the ride" say it all with their rich attitude, naughty nature and reckless allure. Summer may be drawing to an end but the "Slinger" EP is fiercely rhythmic, rife with texture and streams bright light shafts across our dance floors as darkness ascends.

Since its beginnings in 2003, Green & Blue definitely belongs to the mandatory dates of the season for lovers of electronic dance music. And with its ninth edition, the annual open air highlight of the Rhein Main Techno scene returns to its starting point: the former Waldschwimmbad in Sven Väth's birthplace Obertshausen. Besides Sven Väth, Carl Craig and Ricardo Villalobos, there are also Raresh and Sascha Dive who invite us to probably the last Sunday dance this season. For sure, the Bucharest-based producer and DJ Rares Ionut Iliescu aka Raresh is not unknown to many Cocoon fans, as he has sustainably proven his extraordinary DJ talent already with the Freakshow Cocoon Summer Mix 2007 and his well-received performances at Green & Blue 2007 and 2008. His mix is steeped by a distinct Soul factor in the tradition of the Dub Techno that Basic Channel releases, and is, at the same time, so much more. In the beginning, the Detroit neo-dubbers from Deepchord place a traditional intro with "Sofitel" from the 2011 album "Hash-Bar Loops", but with incredibly deep tracks from the Berlin-based Danilo Schneider ("L'ecole" - Buck Remix) and from Detroit mobile DJ Delano Smith, Raresh proves the timeless modernity of his musical sound experience. Subsequently, the Techno density of the mix increases significantly with Ion Ludwig's "Harnas Rythm" on the Frankfurt-based Be Chosen label, only to savour the hypnotic factor towards the finale to full extent with the Romanian discovery Dan Andrei and the great Ricardo Villalobos Dub of the 90's Energy-52-club-anthem "Cafe del Mar". Another artist on the Blue Floor is Sascha Dive, who is living near Frankfurt and, like almost no other DJ/producer in thee last six years, is connected with the constant innovation of House music. His releases on Raum...Musik, La Peña, his own Deep Vibes-label and last not least his contribution to the current Cocoon Compilation K ("New Frontiers") belong to the standard-setting tracks of modern electronic dance music. His set combines the best elements of American and European club tradition. So, his start with the encounter of Polish-born Techno globetrotter Margaret Dygas with the '99 Dub Soul hymn "I will lead" by Problem Kids perfectly illustrates his stylistic bandwidth between deepness and fragmented sound aesthetics. The highlights in this visionary set with tracks by Osunlade, the ex-The Advent member Colin McBean and Sascha Dive himself are the impressionistic piano lines in Ben Klock's "OK", the Luciano remix of the Planet E classic "Can't Take It" by Recloose and the suggestive Minimal Soul anthem "Walking The Pattern" by the Canadian mastermind Guillaume & the Coutu Dumonts from his 2010 album "Breaking the Fourth Wall". So, at least with the help of Raresh and Sascha Dive, the 4th of September is going to be HOT!

Producing and releasing his explorative and unique electronic music on labels such as Mobilee, Highgrade, Freak N'Chic or Micro-Fibres for years, it was in 2010 that Marc Antona felt the time was right to embark on the entirely independent project Dissonant. Over the year that followed, not only did Marc put out three highly praised EPs on his label, he also built and nurtured its concept to what is now the home of his first full length album .Rules Of Madness.' Exposing the hidden grooves within the beats and kicks, “Rules Of Madness” features ten tracks of organic music full of hidden melodies and underlying emotional ambience whilst keeping the pumping vibe experienced in his dj-live sessions. Thru his first album on Dissonant, Marc shows his own creative vision of what he wants to be sexy underground music. “Rules Of Madness” opens with “Guru,” the album's sense of shy mystery and intrigue revealed with muffled demeanour and secretive rhythm. Just afterwards, “All Against The Law” introduces the next main thread: analogue field recordings that celebrate the fascinating and often unheard soundtrack of everyday life. These recordings, coupled with the poetic sampled vocals on “Illegal” and the humorous and charming “Hammock Spider Story,” serve to create a beautiful and honest thread to Marc's tracks. Marc Antona's Iberian influence is laid bare throughout: the ten tracks coming from his studio on the white island of which he fondly says has "so much contrast between the peaceful nature and the amazing clubbing scene, with so much energy that ideas are plentiful when it's time to make music .” Weaved with exactly that contrast, tracks like "Prohibition Circus" and "Crush To Pulp” play with raw organic hand claps, groovy feelings and the sprinkling bells of ambience. What makes them so compelling though is the atmosphere that they ricochet within; crunching machinery combine with bounding bass and beats to fuel the dance floor. Throughout his journey and discoveries as a musician, Marc's passion for "creating musical trips, taking people into his world and making them enjoy the changes of moods from happiness to melancholy, from energy-pumping moments to relaxing deep waves" has developed and is now clearly on point with an album that fully delivers. Whether it is through "Home Rebels" adult maturity or the thunderous energy of "Fast Track,” racing like a stampede of dancing bulls through the album's core, there are discoveries and new dimensions found within each track and at every new listening. For the mind and spirit, but also for the dance floor and everything in between, “Rules Of Madness” is built like a multi-experience journey, as a musical story that twists and turns and can be listened to and felt from beginning to end. An initial sampler with three album tracks, “Rules Of Madness - Part 1” is already out on vinyl. The remainder of the album will be released at the end of August and into September 2011 on three vinyl cuts as well as a mixed CD. .'Rules Of Madness” follows a constantly layering structure, an ever-changing direction and Marc's plethora of inspiration projected from within. Marc Antona's “Rules of Madness” is the best proof that techno can be sensual.

Luomo, - Bite Down
Good Stuff is the first single taken from Luomo's PLUS album, appearing in September 2011 on Moodmusic Records. Luomo aka Vladislav Delay, Sistol, Uusitalo... under a raft of names Finnish artist Sasu Ripatti has in the last years experimented with ambient, broken beat, glitch as well as grooves and house music with soulful vocals, working with Scissor Sisters, Black Dice, Apparat, Craig Armstrong, Massive Attack, Robert Owens and Towa Tei. Luomo is about experimenting with pop music, a big influence for Ripatti, and bringing it to a fusion of house, disco and electronica. PLUS is the 5th album for Luomo, taking the songwriter abilities of Ripatti to a new level, dwelling deep into first generation Chicago house and the pop sensibilities of 80s London, coupled with his impeccable crossover pop appeal. Never going for a one formula approach, PLUS has a distinct
Luomo sound - hypnotic, sexy and delicately insistent, rhythms following a self-movement and never standing still. Good Stuff brings Luomo's pop abilities to top-form, changing between a mid 80s boogie bass and synthetic yet warm deep house with a positive vocal deliver from the ever intriguing Chicago Boys.Remixes comes courtesy of Area, Dave DK and Nils Penner.

Sam Paganini, - Cobra
out 3rd of oct
Since 1993, Sam Paganini has released a refined brand of deep techno that's won him support from the likes of Marco Carola, Timo Maas and Paco Osuna. Furthermore, his progressive techno offerings like 'Zoe' or harder efforts like 'Strobe' have also become chart topping fan favourites. As such, 2011 sees Plus 8 come calling for the revered Italian's sounds.
Titular track 'Cobra' is firm but not without groove. Whilst whole eco-systems of background FX, percussive slithers and wave-breaking synths add depth, a hurried techno beat drives things forward and builds in pressure. It finally breaks, melting to nothing but the kicking bottom end once more: it's techno perfection.'
'Last Call' proceeds at more of a canter, rising up and down as it rolls forwards. What sound like gale force winds howl in the background, darting in and out of the percussion, shifting your focus from here to there. It's brooding but balanced and plays out like a nightmare walk through a chilly, eerie forest in the dead of night.
'Phantom' confirms Paganini to be a man of economical yet efficient means - on the face of it another stripped down and pulsating cut, listen closer to the seven-minute workout and there's more abstract narratives hidden within the devilish background details. So, too, does this cut allow in more light than the rest when, late on, subtle rising chords inject some read hot warmth and a feel good undertones.

out 26th of sept
Ugly drums! Real ugly drums? Well, in fact it doesn't matter! Quintessentials 25 is a stunning 3-tracker from new signing Ugly Drums aka Steffen Baldo (who released an obscure white label on Rush Hour recently). Steffen is a master when it comes to deep spooky house tunes, just check the a-side track "alright alright". Yes, it has a slight TP feel we think. The b-side shows Steffen's second love, which is pure house music with a disco twist. Ugly? Not at all, it's beautiful!

It might sound like an empty phrase, but when Oliver Koletzki founded Stil vor Talent in 2005, he certainly didn't anticipate where his label would be today. Now - six years and over sixty releases later - Stil vor Talent can look back at many magnificent moments in the label's history. Originally started to give other musicians the chance to showcase their music, Stil vor Talent has preserved this very down-to-earth attitude until today and has helped foster the careers of producers such as Channel X, Niko Schwind, Juli Holz or David August to name just a few. While there have never been any musical or stylistic limitations, an open philosophy dominated by quality and individualism prevails at Oliver's label, from delicately designed record sleeves to their own fashion line and to music that varies from house to pop to jacking dancefloor cuts.
Now it is time to congratulate everyone involved and the fans of Stil vor Talent with a special birthday present: a six-year anniversary compilation that celebrates past, present and future of the label on two CDs. The first CD titled "What We Do" presents 17 all new and exclusive unreleased tracks by a lot of the label's closest artists, while the second CD named "What We've Done" is a 70-minute mix by Oliver Koletzki that includes some of his personal highlights of the more recent past of the label. Both CDs show that Oliver Koletzki has a deep love for all avenues of electronic music and that he is surrounded by a group of highly skilled producers who share his musical openness and eclecticism.
"What We Do" is a unique compilation that features 17 new tracks that are very much orientated towards all corners of the contemporary dancefloor. From melodic house on tracks by Niko Schwind, Björn Störig, Mick Rubin, Murat Kilic and Chroma & Inexcess to Animal Trainer's beautiful early morning anthem "Krambambuli", house is an overarching theme on this compilation. But other genres find their way into the mix as well: Bruch and Junior have contributed a piece of vocal dub techno with "Slack Me" while Niconé and Sascha Braemer have teamed up with singer Anna Rikje Rosenthal to create a slow-moving pop track with "Never too late". Leaning more towards the tech-house side of things are the tracks by newcomer Ryan Dupree, Kellerkind, Jürgen Kirsch, Tobi Kramer and the Berlin wonderboys that are Channel X. Last, but not least there are tracks by engineering genius Florian Meindl, with his personal take on disco, and by Daso as well as Oliver Koletzki himself, who chips in a breathtakingly organic cut of soulful disco-tech. It would be impossible to describe all tracks in their density and delicacy, but it is very clear that all of the producers involved were very much aware of the special occasion of this release. These are 17 individual birthday presents.
On "What We've Done" Oliver Koletzki has carefully selected and mixed 12 tracks from the back catalogue of Stil vor Talent. While most likely not having had an easy time to choose from all of the many tracks released on his label, it appears that Oliver has decided to showcase both, the more current and the more melodic ones for this mix. Starting out with the two piano-based tracks "Jazzbians" by Bruch & Junior and "Shine" by Niko Schwind, Oliver slowly moves into more peak-time territory that culminates in an early climax with the first ever single of David August, "Trumpet's Victory", which back in 2009 catapulted David into the rank of top producers. Things stay hot with Sascha Braemer & Dan Caster best-selling "People" before calming down a little again with Channel X's "Snug Descent" which features Jake the Rapper. On the last two tracks the mix gets very musical with a Marek Hemann remix of Oliver Koletzki and Fran's "Arrow and Bow" before things are finished off by a Daso remix of Oliver Koletzi's own "Since You are Gone", a track that very much marked a shift in Oliver's productions towards a more organic house sound. And while this shift has had a great influence on Stil vor Talent itself, this mix embodies the groove and soul of house music while being delivered with the right punch for a hungry dancefloor.
If looking back can sometimes make you sad, it certainly won't if you know that both present and future are filled with so many happy moments and a group of people around you who share your vision. Stil vor Talent certainly is very happy after six years, but that doesn't mean they are content. Actually, they are just getting started.

The title track is a beautiful slice of soul-drenched house which goes for a classic sound with simple horn chords, rolling bass and incessant claps spicing up the groove. A simple vocal refrain is spun in like a DJ drops an accapella and once heard this'll be stuck in your head for days. A firm fireside favourite with all of us here at DOG. There's also an instrumental version of Foolinfor those with vocalitis. Flipping over we have The Traveller which sees Manuel head down slightly more familiar territory with a heavy, lo-slung groove providing the backdrop for some Axelrod-style strings and horns, live bass and floating vocal adlibs. A subtley haunting soundtrack feel pervedes as the arrangement developes but the relentless driving beats make sure this track never strays far from the dancefloor.

Following critically acclaimed releases with Mordant Music and Further Records earlier this year, Ekoplekz delivers his first album for Punch Drunk. Dispensing entirely with notions of accessibility and dancefloor friendliness, 'Intrusive Incidentalz vol.1' is a 12 track collection of dark, oppressive atmospheres and violently unstable interludes, developed through studio improvisation and inspired by childhood memories of terrifying electronic soundtrack music from the 1970s, yet combined with a post-dubstep sensibility and a sense of dread informed by the social, economic and political climate of life in 2011. A bleak retro-futurist fantasy, or oblique soundtrack for a broken Britain? The truth probably lies somewhere between the two.

Nice pairing of producers to rework two cool old Klaus Weiss tracks...! B-Boy's delight! Tip! FACES Records & Les Disques Superfriends together with Moula Moula Publishing are proud to present you the Selected Sound Remixes series! Franky Hutchinson & Pablo Valentino dug deep into a particular era of the famous German Sound Library catalog, which primarily dealt with the early 80's cosmic & electro sound... Naturally we asked some of the best producers around to rework on these nuggets from such composer as Klaus Weiss & Roland Kovac. The 1st part comes with 2 excellent boogie/disco remixes from James Pants (Stones Throw) & Tom Noble (Lotus Land, Superior Elevation).

Top disco/house producer Mark E returns to the FOMDO series to follow his mesmeric slo-mo mix of Dead Dance on FOMDO 2. With a huge reputation built upon his masterful edits Mark E took off following his version of R&B Junkie by Janet Jackson in 2007, which became a cult underground classic. He released the acclaimed 2009 EP Codsall Juniors in 2009 before putting out two volumes of his edits and productions last year on his own label Merc. His remix of He´s Alright is perhaps the finest remix of the FOMDO series so far. A slow, layered build up ? typical of the Mark E sound ? is flush with strings and a pulsating 303 bass line. Subtly and sparsely introducing the vocals of the original, E´s remix is a wonderful summer anthem to satisfy both the dancefloors and chill out tents. On the B-side is East-London producer MODE. His debut release Lo-Fi Odyssey in 2010 for Codek Records, which featured mixes from In Flagrant and Pete Herbert, is followed by this second similarly heavyweight 12" release for the classically trained rising electronic star. Building out of euphoric synths He´s Alright (MODE Remix) bursts in to a heavy slo-mo funk groove. The bass line drives the song forward with Mia Mendes´ beautiful vocal hook, MODE´s unique beats and the unmistakeable Azymuth-inspired synths from Bertrami swirl together for another sublime extended monster hit.

Greco-Roman welcomes a new artist to its camp: following some first appearances at the collective’s local events, London-based producer Enchante will soon release his debut EP North End there, while playing the next Berlin label night this Saturday with Azari & III (DJ set) and others at Picknick. And the new material perfectly fits into the usual Greco-diversity: opening track “Ego” offers deep UK garage, while “Reggay” (despite its name) comes in as the finest skweee-2step we have heard in a long while.

So we went predominanlty stateside for our last outing, and decided to bring things back home this time. HOYA003 is a strictly UK affair. Opening up on the A-side is one of rudest producers and DJs the UK has going for it. This ain?t a comment on her manners though, they?re as impeccable as her production. After Ikonika sent us a zip of some Hoya potentials, we just knew ?Fleas? had to be the one featured on this 12?. A more sinister, rolling, emotional jam, it still packs as much as punch as Ikonika?s DJ sets. Kicking off the B-side is the homie Om Unit. Now, this guy...this guy. Are there any superlatives left to desribe his sonic masterpieces that have rocked too many dancefloors and had as many producers scratching their heads and re-assessing their mix-downs? An instant favourite, ?Fibonnaci 10? was one of the earliest cuts lined up for a release and when you listen you?ll see why.
This guy. Seriously. Bringing things to a close, we hand over to one of our favourites from the flourishing Cardiff scene. ?Why doesn?t Monky have more music out??, is one of those questions that has been asked too many times for our liking. So much so, we may have to take it upon ourselves to change that. But, for now, just enjoy ?Hipster?. A killer synth-laden nod to early UKG, but looking forward as opposed to sideways. Enjoy.

Edit king Leo Zero returns with something very special to kick off a new run of no frills dancefloor bombs that have been tried and tested over the summer on a packed worldwide DJ schedule from Stockholm to Tokyo and beyond. First up is an intensive slice and dice exercise on probably the best track from definitely the best band in the world : The Clash. Leo takes their most disco friendly outing 'The Maginificent Dance' famously spun by Mr Levan at the Garage. On the flip we have a classy house re-work of Al Hudson & Partner's 'Music' which sticks a chi-town kick and snare up it's rear end along with some serious sub bass, and in the middle things get all wobbly with some trademark Leo Zero space echo rides and before we are quickly warped back-in and onto the floor… big with a load of top jocks too including Severino of horse Meat Disco fame.

Dance music legend Chez Damier dusts down this past murmur hit by commander in chief Geddes and Mic Newman to produce two house versions. 'Chez Damier's Alternative Remix' is already setting the dancefloor of the Panorama Bar ablaze due to solid support from the ever excellent Cassy; with it's rolling groove, shuffling percussion and tough drums it looks set to be a staple in many more dj's boxes over the following months. Chez's Flute mix loosens up the percussion and injects a slightly deeper musical feeling and makes it a more than worthy alternative choice.

his single comes to People that make the music records from one of house music's most eminent production teams: first Ibiza lady Alla Farmer, Mateo & Matos and Ukrainian singer and producer Vincent Inc, Chris Gray from Deep4Life, Jazzy House veteran John Crockett and uplifting deep king Brendan McCarthy aka Aquatherium. Though not stereo-typically their style, this set of tunes give good credence to their soft house music production ability. They set the scene for sounds entering as a funky bassline, squealy guitar riff, and classic 4/4 drum loop. John remix consist mainly of dubby bubbly conga rhythms, cosmic chords, floaty synths, musical saw tones and a nice rubbery bassline. Aquatherium remix is pure non-intrusive, house music that's great for the sunset beach session or even the roller disco! Chris & Alla made eclectique deep house which is just a dope! The remixed single tracks have been mixed together to give it a beefy blend that would be perfect for the floor of many poorly lit dance dwellings. People that make the music has stepped forward with a brilliant EP of insatiable grooves.

While "I Can See" by Jazzanova featuring Ben Westbeech came out a few years back, Filippo Moscatello's most excellent disco version never saw the light of day - until now, of course. Doesn't much more sunshine-filled and soul-drenched than this stellar take on the esteemed Berlin collective's original.über-limited one-sided vinyl-only release. Early DJ support comes from Soul Clap, Radio Slave, Dimitri from Paris,Ewan Pearson, Sebo K, Rob Mello and Slow Hands.
