On 30.08.2013 CLR will release the debut album of our new label member Drumcell entitled “Sleep Complex”, an emotionally profound, open-minded approach to current Techno with a variety of influences and a complete disregard for any limitations musical genres could possibly represent. A few basic facts about the life of this dedicated Techno activist will help you understand the absorbing atmosphere of this exceptional record even better.
To cut a long story short, Drumcell was still just young Moe Espinosa, a local East L.A. kid who was heavily into listening and playing rock and industrial music, when he coincidentally found some of the heroic synthesizers of the first hour of Techno in the closet of a recording studio where he had been hired for a job. From this very minute on - things just jelled. If you imagine a technology geek / science-fiction-movies-loving teenage-outsider with a yearning punk rock soul, together with a TR-909, a TR-808 and a TB-303 in the back room of an old Latin House label in Hollywood, then you are pretty much imagining the humble beginnings of the man who started calling himself Drumcell around the year 2000 and who has dedicated his life to the search and creation of mind expanding, glorious sounds. His first vinyl record was hand-pressed and hand-wrapped in an L.A. garage, and when he handed out some copies of it on the following Detroit Electronic Music Festival, it was played on various festival stages the very next day. This immediate enthusiasm gave him enough power and endurance to go all the way and follow his dream uncompromisingly. By now his restless endeavors and the unheard amount of hours in the studio and the booth have paid off and he has become highly skilled and successful in what exactly matters most to him in life – the manifestation of truthful emotions in futuristic sonic concepts.
On the one hand “Sleep Complex” pays respect to the root-element of Techno, the raw, dirty and hypnotic vibe that goes back to early Detroit Techno, on the other hand it almost has some kind of a rock attitude, especially when it comes to the beats, making it stylistically independent and impossible to pigeon-hole. It also makes very little sense to talk separately about individual tracks on the album, as each single piece of music is a sophisticated, complex sonic landscape, which is interconnected with the others and ultimately forms part of a bigger entity. As it was meant to be a bass-heavy record, and he thought that no-one could treat a bass like Chris Liebing, his dear Frankfurt based friend eventually had the great pleasure to do the final mixes, giving the tracks the beautifully shaped bass sound and the incredible presence and clarity we can enjoy now.
The album is an experimentation with analogue modular synthesizers and a variety of digital tools. By working within the limitations of an individual instrument it inspired each single song to have its own unique feeling or sound. Drumcell is really laying it down here and you should definitely pay attention to this state of the art Techno album. May “Sleep Complex” now speak for itself.

The Danse Club label is fast becoming an essential deep house outlet thanks to a solid stream of originals and remixes from artists old and new alike including Cherie Lee, The Burrell Brothers and label bosses Brodanse. Here, said bosses team up with vocalist Cari Golden and resurgent beatsmiths Groove Armada for a huge new track that has already been road tested in Ibiza and has drawn all the right reactions. Groove Armada of course are right at the sharp end of the house world once again having sunken themselves back in the underground with many gigs in Ibiza this summer as well as releases on labels like Hypercolour. LA’s singersongwriter and vocalist Cari Golden, meanwhile, has long been lending her voice to house cuts from the likes of DJ T and Fur Coat, and here lays down another anthemic line that helps this track stand head and shoulders above the competition. ‘Sweat’ (Club) is a big bouncy house track with neon synth stabs, raw and thumping kick drums and icy hi hats that all coalesce into a barnstorming peaktime track designed for maximum destruction. It’s simple but effective, economic but efficient in terms of design and keeps your attention locked for seven minutes of inescapable house tension. The deep version is less rigid and regimented, there is more swing in the drums and percussion and a golden glow of warmth radiates from within. The vocal here is also smoother and creamier, making its
way into your heart as the waify chords add more layers of sonic richness. This is one for sundown rather than handsup moments and perfectly encapsulates the forward facing house vibe the Danse Club label embodies.

Desolat are proud to present Martin Buttrich & Mousse T on the "Session 1".
The term extra-special is bandied about far too often these days, but in this case it fits the bill perfectly, as the latest offering from Desolat sees Martin Buttrich come together with long-time friend, and house legend Mousse T on the 'Session 1'. Few producers have had the longevity and success of these German heavyweights and this two track 12" set for release on October 14th , sees both producers release their first original material in over two years and demonstrate why they remain two of the most highly-regarded producers in the scene. Title track 'Sunseeker' kicks off the EP in fine style with a teasing guitar riff which is supplemented by resounding pulses of warm bass. Further elements are expertly added into the equation soon enough, such as a warped spoken word vocal and numerous melodic textures and trippy flourishes which all come together, building and yielding as the track drops back into its rolling sun kissed groove. On the flip-side is 'Smack Back', which is marginally the more restrained of the two tracks on offer, characterised by a succession of subtle misshapen sounds, twisted effects and an ascending synth which compliments the punchy percussion and melodic stabs. 'Session 1' is a classy 12" on which the personality of both producers shines through equally. While the groove and energy of Mousse T is clearly evident, then Martin Buttrich's deft production touches and subtle nuanced sounds are also there for all to hear. Cover painting by Luio Onassis.

Back in April last year Hans Bouffmyhre joined the EDLX family with 'Hypnosis', a driving three-track EP and tool package that saw the Sleaze man get deep and loopy. Now the young Glaswegian is back with more heavy hitting slabs of his "no nonsense" type of techno. Hans Bouffmyhre, real name Stephen Gorrie, is definitely one of the harder working twenty-somethings in the scene today. Since turning to production in 2007 he has released a frightening number of records for labels like Perc Trax, Viva Music, Soma, and 8 Sided Dice; all the while keeping abreast of a busy gig schedule and manning his just as prolific Sleaze Records. In that time his discography has coursed through techno's many variants, but minimalism and a purest aesthetic have remained steadfast traits throughout. On 'Catapult' Gorrie plays to his strengths, turning in four blends of tension-building techno crafted with all the poise and subtleties we've come to expect from him. "Catapult" is the EP's teasing opener before Gorrie plunges ever further into the aching, growling belly of the beast. "Mesmeric" is as it's name suggests, heady hypnotism in it's wildest form. "Pulsing" slams 'Catapult' into sweaty peak time with pistons and alarm bells, leaving "Secret Strobe" to keep this dystopic party marching well past dawn. We said 'Hypnosis' was dark; 'Catapult' then is verging on evil.

Like previous releases, one side for the body, one side for the soul, all delicate and subtle, like the finest japanese cuisine.
"Yasodamay" is Eduardo's finest moment in ego-tripping grooves with an irresistible elusive retro feel à la Sueno Latino / 808 State while "Blade Runner" takes you to a dystopian and rainy Los Angeles in 2019, a trumpet blows over dark and shadowy soundscapes and film noir grooves, a perfect tune to balance with "Repetance", a galactic ambient tribute to the finest Detroit music - think Derrick & Carl.
All these tracks sound as if they were beamed to us from a very distant future....often imitated & never duplicated spanish brilliance on 12", black vinyl, black innersleeve, no label and limited to 250.

Going even further back, Classic Jams also shines a light on Larry Heard’s sublime Never No More Lonely under his Fingers Inc moniker, as well as the 1988 deep house bomb Musiq by Myoshi-Morris which appears in a brand new exclusive Steve Bug edit.

Borrowed Identity debut EP on Quintessentials is another great example for his multistyle approach to music.
