Argentinian DJ and producer, Ernesto Ferreyra, provided Cadenza with a rich and inspirational album back in 2010, the intricate and balanced "El Paraíso De Las Tortugas" was a masterclass in minimal electronic dance. Four years on, and Ernesto returns to Luciano's label with the 'Insight' single, and a precursor to another album for the label, slated for October release. "Voltage Poem" displays a huge progression for Ernesto, a stomping, elastic backbeat, peppered with live percussion, shakers and micro glitches dances around the mechanical funk of the bassline. A Jamaican poet waxes lyrical, a gem of a vocal "with me riddim, with my rhyme, with me rough bassline, with me own sense of time", as Ernesto get's busy on the delays and reverbs, really dubbing out various elements and creating a real trip of a track. A highly accomplished composition here from Ernersto, and one that really points to some of the goodies we can expect on his forthcoming long player. On the flip, "There Is No Answer" is another playful slice of tripped out dance. A solid groove and frenetic drum pattern is tied down with deep and melodic chords, a lone male voice asks the question (to which there is no answer?), static crackling and radio frequencies humming in the background whilst the hi-hats cut through sharp to keep the energy levels shining. A great return from Ernesto, and a single that nicely builds up some anticipation for his second album for Cadenza, later this year.

Prins Thomas will release his third solo album, aptly named Prins Thomas III. In keeping with his first two albums, it's a self-titled affair, with Thomas saying "there's no great concept, no specific theme, no scheme, no plan... no space disco but still plenty of space." He adds: "It is just documentation of the music I made during the recording period—a musical diary so to speak. Diary entry number three."

Short info: Sebastian Voigt, cult leader of Lokee Musik and resident record slinger of the illustrious Salon - Zur wilden Renate presents a four track EP on Renate Schallplatten. The release includes two original tracks featuring different vocalists, plus remixes by Permanent Vacation and Good Guy Mikesh. All tracks were produced, tested and approved in Berlin's favourite madhouse, Wilde Renate. Enjoy... In his own words, Sebastian explains:
"These tracks were made shortly after i moved into my new studio right above the main dancefloor at Renate, where I also play regularly. So saying that the Renate vibes were an inspiration for this EP is a bit of an understatement. The overall aim of this EP (if there was any) was to make music that I would like to hear played in the club. I was introduced to Hllywd through a common friend and when he came down for a first session we just started recording while he was improvising over a track I had been working on. Most of the vocals you can hear in 'Chapter One' are from that first take. The piece with Angela came together in a similar fashion. I had been listening to a lot of 80s stuff like Chris and Cosey at that time, which gave me the initial inspiration for the track. When Angela came to the studio we started jamming together, and a first draft of 'Out Of Sight' was finished that same day."

French producer David K is ready to announce his debut album, 'Out of Range,' an off-the-radar mixture of romantic melodies on drugs, rocking beats à la parisienne, and sounds to turn you on, released on Tiefschwarz's ever reliable imprint, Souvenir.
David K represents something that's all too rare in electronic music today: an artist who makes music first and club music second. For him, emotion is paramount, melody is important, the pop format has its perks and original material is always better than a sample. Late at night and early in the morning, he can be found tapping away on his keyboards and throwing together arrangements on the fly (a pianist by training, he can't bear to make music slouched over a mouse). His only goal is to make something that will keep himself dancing.
His roots are in Paris, where he lived his entire life until 2011. He started DJing in the late 80s on a makeshift set of gear, complete with a radio and tape deck, but once he hit his first rave in '91 he went straight for the Technics 1200s. He was making a living as a teacher and graphic designer, but like some invisible cosmic force, the life of the full-time artist kept drawing him in. Always involved in creating, composing, and mixing, he began his production career with the Boogabaloo EP on Sismic in 2002, a small Parisian house label. Not long after that he fell in with some key figures in the Paris' underground club scene, such as Dan Ghenacia, who brought him into the Freak n' Chic stable. "This album has been 10 years in the making. Well, almost." he points out. "I started to hold on to some of the tracks I was writing over the past decade or so. I suppose you could say that this album is a bit like a bedside-table book which transcends all of my influences, my musical history, and my idea of modern music." David has always worked conscientiously with the dance-floor in mind, though his sound has always dipped into the outer reaches of myriad genres; rock, funk and unashamedly straight-up pop, a confluence which draws on his honest inspirations. The range of influence can be heard right through the album Beyond drawing upon mere historical influence, he has also brought on board close friends including guest appearances which only help add to the album's rich makeup: dOP frontman Jaw appears on "How Beautiful You Are," frequent collaborator Opium (of La Boetie and Nouvelle Vague) sings on "Intro," whilst old friend and Italian producer, Francesco Farfa, shares writing credits on recent single, "Come Up From the Darkness," David's own voice comes through on on "Show Me The Deal." Like all of his records, the entire package is glazed in the quirky eccentricity, nonchalant percussion and irresistible hunk of sleazy and funk-fueled boogie that we've come to expect of his productions over the years.
In a world of increasingly short attention spans, 142-character, self-styled status updates, ubiquitous smartphones and Big Brother-esque governmental spying, David K shows that sometimes it's good to just take yourself 'Out of Range' for a while.

Schneeweiss III: a collaboration of neighbours.
Over the years, Oliver Koletzki has continuously cited Berlin as a point of reference and, more importantly, a source of inspiration. Two of his albums - Großstadtmärchen and Großstadtmärchen 2 - have been a direct ode to the capital. Just after the release of her magnificent Watergate-Compilation we are glad to announce La Fleur's new EP. "Arms Around" and "Stella" already appeared as exclusive material on "Watergate 16" and will be available as stand-alone versions on our in-house label.
The eponymous track is reminiscent of the melodic early-noughties, arouses nostalgia and makes us want to dance barefooted in the sunlight. The dreamy, synth-driven break guarantees a proverbial "Arms Around"-effect on the floor, just before the euphoric bassline kicks in again, accompanied by rattling hi-hats. On the contrary, "Stella" is a reduced deep-house track, carried by filtered pads, vocal shreds and a never ending groove. "Arms Around" was remixed by nobody less than Carl Craig. His "Affected Rmx" keeps the originals' charm but increases its intensity with precise accents. The EP will be released on June 16th 2014 on vinyl and digital.
