As a special little present, Bitches Brew is releasing this special Cosmo remix of Jamaican legend Horace Andy & Ashley Beedles "When the rain" as a LIMITED 500 only 10-INCH with hand silk-screened jackets and hand stamped labels so each copy is completely unique and a collector's item! Cosmo was commissioned by K7 to remix "When the Rain" from their album "Inspiration Information", yet K7 released her "Cosmodelic Remix" as a digital MP3 download only so Cosmo got the rights to release it on vinyl. 'There is also an unreleased reprise version on the B-Side for those of a dubbier persuasion. Lovely, deep summer vibes all round.

A deluxe set from the Cocoon label always stands out from the multitude of cookie-cutter mixes released each year. Now 10 years in, the 2009 edition is a demonstration of duality and a demo of how far Ibiza life has come. Where Deep Dish once ruled with their dizzy prog-trance, now Dubfire stands. One half of the revered duo, Ali Shirazinia goes for the throat, with mammoth drops and explorations of 3-D sound. The unreleased gems like Sebrok's "Vision" and Reset Robot's "Do The Slot" teeter on the edge of tribal-soul. At its height, Dubfire gives respect to Loco Dice with his sheering, peak-holding remix of Tiga's "Beep Beep." Dice (that's Italian, so DEE-chay) takes up on the second disc with a deliberately different take. If Dubfire's mix is for the peak hour, Loco Dice should be slotted for the afterparty. Keeping the vibe steady, Dice revs constant, continual beats that go on forever, especially with artists like JPLS, Villalobos and Martinez. His selection is so particular that driving around to it, my friend kept reaching for the booklet insert: "Who is this?" "What's this?," etc. until I finally just pulled over and handed her the damn thing.

With this new EP Tom Clark makes an impressive return to the Highgrade release program. Following a collaboration with Marcus Schatz and most recently with Benno Blome, he now comes back as a solo artist. After only a few beats, you’ll be sure to recognise his signature sound. Tom needs surprisingly few elements to build a unique atmosphere and his matchless grooves. On the title track “Scorpio“ we find a deep, rolling bassline and a slightly orientally influenced vocal, combined with the typically unique Clarkish synth leads, and we’re ready to go. It’s a track that continually keeps the excitement moving while never letting the cat out of the bag, and more than deserves the A-side. Then we come to “Albino“, also featuring sparkling synths and rolling drums that create an impression of fluidity and an unhurried beginnings, but we also end up in a waterfall... Who would have known!? In conclusion comes “Sand Flea“, as lively as a box of fleas, but not nearly as aggrivating! Mister Clark is again at his best, with a love for detail, an innate sence for strange sounds and an a significant quantity of leisurely energy, this tune also really hits the mark. This is not the work of a newbie who produces an aggressive sound to prove his talents. The result is the feature of this EP: Seldom has an understatement sounded so fresh. + Digital-only bonus track “12 notes“!

After blazing a trail through all things House and Techno over the last year our favorite Irishman returns to the Kindisch sandbox with 3 funk-shoveling dance floor weapons. The last year has seen him contribute remixes and releases to an onslaught of respectable labels including the likes of Ben Watt's Buzzin' Fly, Sven Väth's Cocoon and Luciano's Cadenza. Ok, put your tongue back in your mouth and let the music wipe up that mess you just made on the floor. Hefty and hulking right from the beginning 'Tension, Release' is a carnal beast of heavyweight House. No 'girlie-man-back-in-bed-at-4 A.M'. House here. This is 'look-down-at-your-watch-say, "screw it" and-soldier-on-to-the-after-party' beats. Fully equipped with heavy artillery consisting of ray gun synthesizer effects, chanting vocals and warped clunking bells. This is a versatile and unique tool that will be applauded by DJ's from many different genres. 'Expression' is a testament to Gavin's sound. You can here his signature touch on the track right through the bubbling melodic bass line, finicky detail to sound design and his ability to effortlessly layer sounds. This is one of those tracks that has his mark all over it, proving he is not just following the pack. There is not too much that is random about 'The Random'. An upright guitar bass line are the backbone of this bad boy, but really what whisks you away and off your feet is the modulating filtered pads. Their simple melody spreads warmth and feeling like a fireplace in a chilled Norwegian hut. People like Gavin are why electronic music is moving forward. Technology has given us endless possibilities as well as the means to attain them. There is so much room to explore, and Herlihy is one of those people who are not afraid to put on the hard hat and jump in head first. He is definitely one to watch for the future, which is just fine with us.

Lost for 30 years - Unreleased masterpieces by disco legend Patrick Cowley and Indoor Life singer Jorge Socarras - remixed by Morgan Geist (Metro Area) & KiNK (Rush Hour)!
First single from the forthcoming album "Catholic" by Patrick Cowley & Jorge Socarras. "Soon" is a dark proto-techno track with hypnotic lyrics and warped synths, while "Robot Children" builds on a rigid sequencer bassline and futuristic sounddesign. These masterpieces were lost for 30 years and get released for the very first time!
The first remix comes from no one less than Metro Area's Morgan Geist - and it's arguably one of his best mixes to date. Responsible for Environ's Unclassics series, he certainly was the first call for the job. His rework transforms Cowley's trademark production sound into 2009, respectful for authenticity and forward thinking at the same time.
Rush Hour's KiNK has turned heads with his incredible production skills and live appearances. His remix of "Soon", derived from the original's drum machine sounds, catapults the track to the future. Bass heavy with a rugged beat, this is one to cross boundaries from techno to dubstep to experimental!

Smallville Records are set to release their first CD compilation featuring tracks by STL, Steinhoff & Hammouda with Dionne, Christopher Rau, Lowtec and many more to be cut on a limited 12inches series.
With the second EP, the label from rainy city Hamburg shows their preference for fresh excursions into deephouse and beyond. The dream team of contemporary soundscaping, Move D and Benjamin Brunn, come up with a slightly moving earwig, tracky and reduced to give the dancefloor a colorful kick. Smallville co-owner Lawrence makes himself a classic with the bassy and chordish tune "Don't Forget". He sets a tribute to Deephouse music still holding his dreamy detroitish Lawrence twist.
