Homewreckers, - Not my Business
Circus Company welcomes a new artist on the label: the Homewreckers. Named after a track by Southern Soul legend Sam Dees, the production collective from Germany has been moving and breaking new ground between Detroit techno, abstract funk and melancholic disco music since 1995. Their debut album Amercian Ruhr has been released on Unique Records in 2008 and creates an absolutely distinctive sound which seems to come straight out of a from a feverish dream populated by the ghostlike figures of Larry Graham, Juan Atkins, Frank Hutter, Bernard Edwards, Erik B or Al Green.

The Not My Business EP perfectly shows how the Homewreckers flow on these two original tracks. You feel the funk, you feel Detroit and you feel a deep and unique sense of music. Cherry on the cake, you got a remix from San Francisco based artist Dave Aju who is back on the label after his much acclaimed album Open Wide released in 2008.

Not My Business isn't their first shoot on the label as they were already part of last months Snuggle & Slap Circus Company compilation with a brilliant " Live-Version " of Chicago Urban Blues.

Terence Fixmer returns on Electric Deluxe, with two strong tracks in his signature style. On top, we are proud to have Function on board, with a deep and out there remix that's exploring the artistic freedom Electric Deluxe is the platform for. Unique to all Electric Deluxe releases are the Tool versions, this time crafted by Speedy J and Terence Fixmer himself. Icon of the electronic north of France, Terence Fixmer is one of France's most treasured protagonists of the techno scene, of which he has been at the forefront for over 10 successful years.? Terence's music appeals as much to dancing feet, as it does to the searching soul. ?Keeping it rough around the edges. A pioneer, he above all preserves an original style, at once recognizable, that beats at the heart of contemporary techno production. Function, one of Techno's true underground heroes, has been DJing and making music for over 15 years. ?Recently moved from his NYC home to Berlin he's still working with Regis, setting up the acclaimed Sandwell District imprint, kicking against minimal blandness with dynamic, harder-edged yet curiously accessible techno. "Electric City (original)" is a classic industrial Techno track combining the driving force of relentless beats and bass with the huge rooms the that roland drum machines open up when you put massive reverb on them. It's hypnotic and psychotic sounds appeal to the primal side, driving you to forget about coolness and unconditionally express yourself to the beat. Uplifiting and dark at the same time, Electric City echoes the high tech metropolitain dystopia we live in today. "Echoes" presents itself with a forward marching industrial beat, piercing synth lines, and sweat inducing rhtymic patterns. Its psycho bleeps are pure industrial funk. When the vocal sets in you'll feel the relief on the dancefloor as the straight forward groove brings out the primal need to put your energy and emotion into expression: dance. Function's remix of Electric City is dark as fuck, slow and massive. It retains the hypnotizing/ head fuck/ paranoia vibe through the track, while it swims in a subtle ocean of white noise. Function's trademark shuffling dub sounds and the 808 rim shot with that huge reverb keep you moving, while the dark and evil drone sounds lead through the entire track. Darkness is when the only thing you can hold on to surrounds you, and is what scares you the most. Its slow build up, and by slow we mean Berghain-slow, spoiled by the absence of peak time pressure in this special place create the drama, a sound dedicated to the deep below.

GEM001 is Egbert's "Dezelfde weg EP". Secret Cinema has been dropping it regularly and the crowd response has been amazing! Side A is a hypnotic melody driven techno slammer titled "Dezelfde weg". On the flipside is a deeper darker track called 'Vette Sounds' with creepy yet commanding synths over a pounding bassline driven groove. This track has also received the Secret Cinema remix treatment to brilliant effect!

Info text:
Dapper French dude Danton Eeprom provides his debut album, combining disco, techno and rock musics for Infiné. 'Yes Is More' collects a pair of previous singles including the terrific dancefloor saga 'Confessions Of An English Opium Eater' and 'Give Me Pain' with ten new tracks, ranging from the glam-rockish stomp of 'Thanks For Nothing' to funked tech-house minimalism like 'Stilettos Rising', and pop-informed contemporary house like 'The Feminine Man' feat vocals from Chloe and crimped French disco on 'Lost In Music' feat. Erika Forster. Eeprom's productions stand far out from the minimal masses with which he mingles and should be prescribed to any connoisseurs seeking the more glamorous side of the 'floor.

SPECIAL SALESOFFER DOUBLE LP INCLUDING THE CD!!!!
In April 2006 and on the occasion of their 20th record the Berlin based label Mo's Ferry Prod. released a special compilation. In answer to progressive digitalisation of club music and the rash swan songs on the vinyl record, like "Vinyl is the way of the dinosaurs", the label owners turned the tables. Marcel Knopf - by then A&R and label DJ for many years and who presents his debut "Dusty Dance" right at the moment - compiled his favourite net label tracks, which got pressed for the first time on a vinyl record properly named "Bits to Phono". Among were artists like Franco Cinelli, Lump, Ryan Crosson and Dapayk, who had been doing some releases for free on labels such as Textone, Unfoundsound, Archipel and many more. Furthermore Marcel Knopf mixed a CD with these and other tracks, that were released on Mo’s Ferry in the next years. The year 2009 is marked by Mo's Ferry's love to vinyl and nothing would fit better than a new edition of this no less important "Bits to Phono" compilation coming out at the end of the year: A special bundle of the double album and a mix CD.

Slowly but surely, a constellation of young artists have expanded around Ali, Basti, Philipp "Santé". In the night, they share the same decks thanks to the newly created Souvenir Booking entity. During the day, they swap beats and samples in the studio of Tiefschwarz located in Prenzlauer Berg, building up a new creative energy, which is giving birth to the 23rd release of Souvenir on vinyl.Adam Port, Re.You and Rampa, already had their own shines this year on Souvenir. Now, it´s the turn of &ME (Front Room, Keinmusik) and Fischer & Kleber to release a new must-have record permeated with the best groove coming from the German capital city. On the A-side, &ME brilliantly hurts with "Bleed". He punches on the left with an unstoppable drum, weaves on the right with an hypnotic loop, that stirs mental alertness up, barks his anger with a digital "Whouah" going fast and forward and compelling any dancer to incredible footwork. Knocked Out! Robert Fischer & Niklas Kleber had in common an electronic liveact "Discokonzentrat" (High `N´Rising records) and a band "Spurv Laerke" before bringing in their new project, Fischer & Kleber. They set with "Berki" on the flipside the singular but no less enjoyable soundscape of a cathedral under construction. Lightening up with deeply felt and almost religious whispers, the shrilling noises of computer-generated machine-tool, the mechanical and cold precision of a pitched down digital rock-drill, the duo turns "Berki" into a canticle of the new Millennium.

This is it! After "Zuckerwatte" here comes the second single release of Oliver Koletzki's massively successful electronic pop album "Großstadtmärchen". Packed with two hot remixes of the Track "These Habits" by Lexy and AKA AKA, a remix of the über-popular track "Hypnotized" by Dapayk as well as the original of radio single "U-Bahn", this EP marks the perfect boundary between home listening and club action. First up is Lexy with his adaption of "These Habits": he surely is in love with Pyur's voice as he sticks to the original, cutting up the vocal only slightly to add more rhythmic grooves and a soft layer of bouncy loops on top. This is a very soft approach perfect for dreamy days and dreamy nights. Next up are newcomers AKA AKA who turn "These Habits" into a tech-house-feast. Some wonderfully sequenced reverby sounds add a fifth dimension to the original, plus some shuffling beats towards the break down and then it's just pure harmony! On the flip: enter the dancefloor with Dapayk, who surely knows how to work with female vocals from his own tracks as Dapayk & Padberg. His wooden loop and super sweet analogue bassline are the foundation for this most minimal approach of "Hypnotized" that will have you run shivers down your spine when he lets the original vocal and melody drop into his staccato beats. We didn't know that minimal pop would sound this epic in 2009!

Nico Purman, our Argentinean (soon to be Berlin based) drumline captain and all around groove slinger is back for his third instalment on the marching band in the sky that we call our Vakant home.Purman’s sound continues to evolve, covering truly large distances with every release. Since his robostrobe inspired earlier Vakant works Tuesday EP (VA017) and Euphrasia EP (VA025), Nico drops 3 large-and-very-much-in-charge space jazz masterpieces that he fermented in what sounds like a midnineties New York house basement. First up is ‘Why What’ where Nico sets the free-flowing rhapsodic mood that covers so much ground with one track. Starting in what sounds like Tenaglia’s beloved Chelsea, the track slowly moves uptown landing at the Blue Note where Rollins, Monk, and Roach sit in on the session. ‘Funk Forest’ follows with more pep and less mood. Upbeat and popping percussion blend with Rhodes while a diva whispers in your ear until late seventies Hancock shows up with his synth and brings the hands way up. ‘Chamomile’ finishes the EP off in style. Moody while maintaining the jazz feel, “Chamomile” peaks with futuro baritone sax and piano in unison. Smooth and steady all the way.
