Traversable Wormhole, - Where 2D Meets 3D
In 2009 a series of five anonymously produced ink stamped vinyl recorded releases appeared in the global techno scene under the mysterious guise "Traversable Wormhole. The series released exclusively on vinyl. The sound of "Traversable Wormhole is a unique signature of sci-fi laden techno music with gaps of time, space & bass in between sound & rhythm. Within a month's time of it's conception Volume 2 of the series appeared and a huge buzz was soon amassed on the project. Accusations on who was the artist behind the project ran wild. People all over the techno scene had made theories to who was behind it. The project quickly received huge support from many of the world's most renowned techno shops such as Rub A Dub , Hardwax, Juno & Decks. Word traveled fast through the wormhole and it was soon reported that globally respected dj's such as Chris Liebing, Ben Klock, Marcel Dettmann, Mathew Herbert, Ryan Elliot, Andrew Galluzi, Surgeon, Function, Frankie Bones, Surgeon, DJ Deep & Radioslave were all supporting the sound of TW. With the series fast approaching into further galaxies with the appearance of Vol 3. Techno cult blogsite MNMLSSG (http://mnmlssg.blogspot.com) tracked down TW via Twitter. A sonar ping was sent back to the popular blog and soon a "Traversable Wormhole" mix appeared anonymously on the site, receiving rave reviews. Their were also reports through the anonymous "Traversable Wormhole" Myspace profile that dj's from the dubstep scene were supporting the songs that had more of a broken beat structure in the series. As the series transgressed to Vol 5 by the year end of 2009 the mystique of anonymity continued to grow. To usher in the very start of 2010 "Traversable Wormhole" would release the sixth volume of the series. At the same time 20 year veteran techno artist/dj Adam X originally from NYC and now residing in Berlin would be invited to partake in a feature called "Playing Favorites" on "Resident Advisor" the worlds biggest electronic music website. As Adam's feature read towards the end he would subtly take claim as the producer behind "Traversable Wormhole". While traversing the wormhole, Adam has crossed paths with Chris Liebing and his CLR imprint. Forthcoming in Summer 2010 CLR will release "Traversable Wormhole" Vol 1-5 in digital format for the first time ever with all five volumes being digitally remastered in the highest of quality. Also planned for release at the same time period is a massive remix project that maybe the biggest ever in techno. "Traversable Wormhole" has found itself remixed from some of the best in the scene. Surgeon, Marcel Dettmann, Sleeparchive, Function, Chris Liebing, James Ruskin, Peter Van Hoesen, Terence Fixmer, Kevin Gorman, Tommy 47 & Brian Sanhaji have all taken a turn in remixing TW. The remix project will see release on both vinyl and digital format. Then come September 2010 CLR releases on CD "Traversable Wormhole Vol 1-5" a full length mix of all 10 songs, mixed by the artist himself. In support of the CLR releases "Traversable Wormhole" will traverse the world with a live show tour starting in July 2010.

"To share and to increase the love, to let the soul speak through the music, is a feeling which can hardly be described with words. With "Loving", I want to embrace the whole world, because this journey to the origins of electronic dance music in between Modern Detroit, high tech Soul and House is coming from the very bottom of my heart." (Johannes Heil, 2010)
What time is love? With this question, Jimmy Cauty and Bill Drummond - better known as "The KLF" - have officially introduced the acid-orientated second Summer of Love 1988. However, the answers to this question might be numerous as the number of people living on the earth. Some think that it is the Summer of 1967, where the Hippie movement had its peak, others may hope for the perfect love in 2525 or maybe the time of love is now, in the year 2010.
Obviously, Johannes Heil belongs to the latter group. For more than fifteen years, he is an essential part of the German Techno scene and - with his classics from the likes of "Paranoid Dancer" (Kanzleramt, 1998) or "Calling" (1999) - belongs to the acoustic long-term memory of Techno. However, in the last few years with his releases for Klang Elektronik, Anthony Rother's Datapunk label and several own imprints like JH Records, Metatron or, most recently, Shit happens, Johannes remained one of the guarantors for musical enhancements. With his eighth studio album "Loving", Heil is taking stock of his 15 years of musical past, in a modern and at the same time traditional way. He uses influences from Detroit House only superficially, the history of modern dance music that he tells is that of music as the universal language between all continents.
So, one can find broken rhythms, combined with African chants ("Hallelujah") as well as a terrific pumping electro bass line and pizzicato strings ("The Ace"), hypnotically dancefloor-binding sub bass runners ("To The Groove") or Samba percussion tracks with marching band citations ("Glockenspiel") and weightless Detroit high tech House ("Freedom Of Heart") - all of them being equally part of the comprehensive vocabulary of... yes, love! After all, love as an emotional condition still feels the best in present tense.

An album that could not fit better to the clubs and open airs of this summer!

For the fourth year running Cocoon Recordings gives a forecast on the upcoming Ibiza Season with the latest in its Summer Mix series. After having such renowned DJs as Dubfire, Loco Dice, André Galluzzi and Chris Tietjen, the Cocoon team were able to play another well-known DJ ace from their sleeve: Marco Carola. The Naples-born DJ/Producer brought Italy onto the map of uncompromising Techno with his strictly ltd edition releases during the Nineties, but is also one of the protagonists of the breakthrough of reduced Techno-Funk, having released on Richie Hawtin's Plus 8 label and his own platform Domestic.Minimal.Noise over recent years. With his mix, Carola illustrates the perfect party night on Amnesia's main floor in a sultrily and percussive yet always sexy and elegant form of Minimal Funk. In particular, Marco Carola gives a major platform to breakthrough artists, like the Spaniard Kobaalt or the Reisak Corporation from Venice. The mix builds with a constant intensity and his finale has you ready to throw your arms in the air with some familiar tracks by Martin Buttrich ("Hoochie Mama") and Layo & Bushwacka ("The Longest Day", highlighted here through the Audiofly remix). The second disc is taken up by the superb Nick Curly from Mannheim. Curly has already proved himself with his productions for Plastic City, 8 Bit and Cocoon as well as his own label Cécille Records, which he runs together with Marc Scholl, he is a DJ who stands for the powerful rejuvenation of deep House and his passion for this comes out in everything he does. With his impressively energetic set, Curly demonstrates that soulful vocals and solid, hypnotic house make great bedfellows.
From the off the mix displays the depth of character in Curly's selection from the percussive Power House of "Get Your Space" by producer team Phil Weeks vs. Krakatoa through the jazziness of Gorge ("Makena") and onto the dubby excursion of Horacio ("Taberna del Funk") there is a wealth of quality on offer here. Butch's wildpitch style 'No Worries' and Curly's own brand of new disco funk on offer in 'Keep On' further add to richness of the mix and by the time you reach the closing bars of Burridge and Dekay's 'Wongel' it is clear to see why Cocoon were so keen to have Curly onboard. Cocoon have been instrumental in the Ibiza season for over a decade now and this is yet another marker of their constant importance and relevance. It's also a damn good compilation!

Desolat are happy to see this notorious Romanian duo continue to stoke the buzz with a brand spanking new release, after a brief hiatus. Livio & Roby bring their signature contemporary blend of house music roots and simmering techno. "Sunday Offend" is a gutsy tune with a magical, timeless quality. A machine-like groove melts like a popsicle on hot pavement, as distorted Rhodes and bass jostle among vocal samples. Hipo features over top of the bubbling bass of "Stapanu Intergalactic", with synth pulses, strings and persistent high hats creating a subtle urgency. "Tribute" has plenty of room to breathe: stomping methodically along as synth burbles swing back and forth like a seesaw, enveloping a fairground-like melodic fragment. "Garaghivirap" rounds off the release with a techy, tribal vibe that seems constructed from dissected snippets of bicycle bells, whirring wheels and exhaust pipes. Livio & Roby have taken 2010 by the horns, participating in the Desolat US Bus Tour earlier this year alongside Loco Dice and Martin Buttrich, and are ready to blast back into your consciousness with their fresh new material.

This summer, Marc Antona introduces a brand new label: Dissonant.

Marc turns his efforts to a new platform for solo productions and collaborations. Having honed his talents on records for Mobilee, Highgrade, Micro-Fibres (his former label) and more, Marc uses this first release as an occasion to show what he's got: tight, percussive, spirit-full music that dives deep, without ever losing techno's innovative lines and motorik intensity."Rootz" sets the tone with an agile, high-stepping groove full of bells and smooth but very effective drums; the sparkling high end contrasts with an almost overwhelming sub-bass throb. Marc shows his dexterity on the board as he subtly mixes in layer after percussive layer. Teasing in bright chords and a rushing breakbeat, he connects the musical traditions of Berlin, Paris and Chicago into a thrilling, urgent example of 21st century house music. "Enan Poen" is dark and seductive, and it plays a kind of acoustic sleight-of-hand, using just a handful of sounds to conjure expansive atmospheres. Carefully combining warm drums and transformed percussion, it's a dense, trippy, pulsating sound pushed forward by muted stabs and a bassline that seems almost to moan. It's a track full of shadows and hollows, of suggestive, almost-there sounds. "Malaga" looks towards sunny southern Spain for its title, and it delivers a similar vibe with springy chords and a bright, skittering high end full of sounds that chatter like palm fronds on a windy day. But there are storms sometimes on the horizon : between powerful low end and the hazy tones in the midrange, plus minor-key chords that flash out and are gone, there's a more ambiguous, introspective element at work. It's a wonderfully versatile track, perfect for dancefloor daydreaming and late-night awakenings.

NYC's Adultnapper hardly ever lets his foot off the gas... and this is no exception! Straight back into the driving seat and ready to roll with his next EP for Poker Flat Recordings, ‚Slowly' is a typically spooked out 2 tracker from the East Coast's master of the dark and funky arts....
Lead track ‚Slowly' is full of the type of crazy textural soundscapes that have become synonymous with Adultnapper's bass infected sound. Winding, twirling cables and messed up electronic whir away in the background as a stoic kick-led percussion array works the funk. Jazz influenced hooks, sultry vocals and horns-a-plenty, it all makes for an incredible workout!
Gold and Forgetting' is a touch more mysterious, with a floating Chicago-esque synth theme at its tender heart. Of course Mr. ‚Napper still piles on the funk, and this amazing afterhours anthem to be wins us over hands down. Emotional strings swathe by over a meandering 9 minutes of pure and precious metallic sheen.
Tracklisting:
A: Slowly
B: Gold And Forgetting

Running Back super proudly presents: Mim Suleiman!

The Zanzibar born and Sheffield based singer/songwriter/performer made quite a name for herself on the afro-beat stages of this world with her mixture of East African vocals and percussive traditions. Tungi is Mim Suleiman's debut long-player which has her singing and writing in her native tongue Swahili. Tungi is a mixture of all things ultramodern afro beat, rhythm trax and futuristic pop music. Starting off with the uplifting vibe and beat of Hebu, you will find boogie moments like Nyuli or Bibi Na Mpu (including a dub version) along the way, as well as quieter moments, rhythmic adventures called Flava or the hi-life guitars of Mingi and Haraka Haileti Baraka. Music for the world, led by the powerhouse that is Mim Suleiman and her lyrics about love and affection, freedom, oppression, unity and everyday life. Mesmerizing and addictive.

Produced by Maurice Fulton. Mim says BlessUp! Big Up!
Press photographs are available on request.
The artist is available for Interviews and radio mixes in the run up to release.

Yore welcomes " IBEX " to the Yore Family. Tony Ollivierra aka Ibex, who is no stranger at all to the world of Detroit House music, known for his outstanding releases on Carl Craigs " Planet E " or his hot gems on 3rd Ear and Rushhour, returns in full effect on our 26th release. Here he brings us four tracks, so deep (and yet grooving without a doubt), unique and full of class, that it still leaves us simply speechless. The music on this EP is so rich and full of musical idea's, like we haven't heard it since a very long time. One can tell you need history and expertise behind to drop something like this and Ibex sure has what it takes. He's been releasing high quality house music since early 2000 and has been touring as a DJ since the mid nineties, which all you can sense in his music. This is one of our personal favourite releases so far and we can only strongly recommend to get your copy while they last. Killer EP not to be missed and already a classic today!

BACK IN! Very limited Vinyl pressing. Adding a percussive and experimental edge to the current class of post-dubstep pioneers, Mount Kimbie, the duo of Dominic Maker and Kai Campos - are set to release their highly anticipated debut album ‘Crooks & Lovers’ on Scuba's Hotflush label in July. Mount Kimbie’s first two EPs - ‘Maybes’ and ‘Sketch On Glass’ - seemed like explorations of spaces so private that all within earshot were instantly turned into voyeurs. The experience was less like listening to music and more like eavesdropping on the machinations of a lone mind – albeit a lone mind surrounded by and retreating from millions of other minds. Difficult to categorise, the lush EPs caused a commotion when released last year with ‘Sketch On Glass’ recently undergoing reworks from the likes of Faulty DL, SCB (Scuba’s darker techno alias) and their sometime collaborator James Blake. With their own remixes (Foals and The xx) becoming hot property, Mount Kimbie have been a core part of the growing scene in London often associated with labels like Hyperdub and Hessle Audio. Dom and Kai met whilst at Southbank University, pushed together in a student halls that was previously a mental asylum - where the ceilings were still ridiculously high to stop patients hanging themselves: “a cold, joyless, concrete building – the sort of building where you’d drop a pen and the sound would just go on and on in an echo.” Armed with found sound snips and a siege mentality, Kai and Dom set about turning London’s ambience into rhythm, its chaos into coherence. Traces of influence remain – the hard-earned spaces of Burial and The Bug vie with the berserk melodrama of Xiu Xiu and Grouper’s sad-eyed glow, D’Angelo’s pervert soul gets cleansed in the intimacy of Phil Elvrum’s Microphones, Angelo Badalamenti’s swollen ‘Twin Peaks’ atmospheres find a cradle in Madlib’s lax lope. The band’s sound and response to the dubstep moment is very much their own. Sceneless and untethered from etiquette and genre codes, 'Crooks & Lovers' floats through dubstep and hip-hop, jazz, techno and ambient, post-rock, UK garage and film scores to startling effect. Mount Kimbie – who play as a live band - have announced a string of European festivals & shows for the summer.

The second and final part to Mossa’s massive album is Festine pt.2. The first part was crafted for a more big room, late night feel and for the second slab of wax were going more for the bouncier out-door, summer fun time feel. There were so many moods on this full-length that we were able to craft specific types of EP’s. To some this may be more of the sound they come to expect to hear from Mossa but we know him best, he has flavors upon flavors, which is very obvious on this EP. He’s a hard artist to stereotype, exactly why we had to have him on Thema. So for this excursion we have a tango-esque dance floor prime time buner-Buleria, that will make you slam tequila’s like the true lushes we are. On the flip side we have Pezzner of Freerange and Dave Aju of Circus Company delivering some sultry, tangy, funk for the body!
