A1) Definition - Raven
A2) Definition - Lux
B1) Definition - Odyssee
B2) Definition - Raven (Jonas Rathsman Remix)
Short Info:
Lux' is what we use to measure the intensity of light as we perceive it, when it's hitting or passing through a surface.
The first track, that gives the EP its name, embodies exactly that - the fluctuating, ever-changing nature of light; from fragile and fleeting to overwhelming and powerful. 'Lux' kicks off with warm synths creeping in, like rays of sunlight breaking through the clouds. Dreamy crescendos take you for a ride and build up until they melt into a comforting blanket of piano chords, accompanied by a propelling hi-hat pattern that will make you want to move. The track is hopeful, the start of a journey, with compelling break downs, industrial rhythm elements and powerful build-ups such as the one to the final section, dominated entirely by its fusion between techno-beat and dance-feel.
Next up is 'Odyssee'. An unapologetic track that picks up the pace. Kicking off boldly with harmonic tension and enticing drum sounds, it's hard not to surrender to the rich and fast-moving soundscape. Proud drums meet steel sounds and tentative piano figures, all glued together by the driving beat, determined to get to the next stop of this lifelong voyage. Striking accents, in the form of short-lived breaths or staccato bass lines take you through a labyrinth of growing gritty synths. A track that easily leads you through space and time and makes it feel like the most natural thing in the world. We're greeted with standalone bright and sparkly synth movements as 'Phoenix' rises and wraps us in warmth. Gently, like raindrops, a rhythmic pattern starts dripping in. Definition, like in many of his other works, blends rhythmical sounds that couldn't be more different into one, making them sound like they were never meant to exist unless next to each other. The track is a symbiosis of modern and classical sounds, lets us bathe in analogue warmth but always rolls along with digital precision.
'Phoenix' starts softly and ends in roaring flames: in a repetitively enchanting party, fabricated out of dark, pumping beats and gritty synths. 'Raven', the final of the four tracks and the lead single (released alongside the Jonas Ratshman remix just 1 week ago), intrigues with chants and empowerment just as much as with its determination and fragility. Falling from the highest heights, Raven lets you rediscover who you are when you hit the ground. Carried by a throbbing four-on-the-floor kick drum and covered in a synth-haze that is hard to resist, you'll float along, fall and rise with the everlasting wave-like movement of human existence.

Adiel - B2 In your power
12” vinyl with full cover print
TRACKLIST:
A1 Method
A2 Mad
B1 Time is out
B2 In your power
INFO:
Adiel slowly emerged from the Rome underground onto international dancefloors, from local residencies to renowned festival stages. Following a steady slew of quality releases for her own label, the Italian producer now signs with Figure to show just how far she’s gotten.
Right out the gate, Adiel proves her versatility.
Method is an intricate, moody stepper, harking back to early Burial with its grimey atmosphere and skeletal breakbeats, complete with ghostly vocals and a cascading synth line, which ties it all together. Showing Adiel’s love for analog drum machines, Mad builds on a dry but lively pattern, with swelling acid arps slowly creeping in until it all breaks down in a sea of squelches, only to emerge again with full force.
The B-side goes deep and fast, panning percussion setting the bleak scene for a vividly arp-driven ride beneath a starry sky.
Slowing things down to a half-time measure, the final composition leaves lots of room for the finely measured details such as bubbling acid, raw drums, and trippy voices to merge in one last soothing swirl of sound. With such a strong repertoire at her fingertips, Figure X27 shows Adiel as a promising producer who has found her unique voice and is sure to make her way in the years to come.

Clarinets - Afternoon
Boasting a catalogue of distinctive music Funnuvojere turned two this year. Its eight release comes from Clarinets the new alias of Tbilisi based Gacha Bakradze. Invisible Path is the title of this EP, a name that seems to reference Gacha's own nimble movements across cities and genres. It started in 2015 with a rather ambient LP with Apollo Records, and has recently seen him releasing a third LP with Barcelona's Lapsus Records. Despite this new skin, Gacha's identity can still be strongly felt in Clarinets. The four tracks composing this EP highlight Bakradze's mastership in designing harmonies. Graceful frequencies rise from the title track, driven by a steady arpeggio that builds and explodes in multiple directions. 'Dry Bridge' uses classic balearic sounds to decorate a powerful bass line, evoking an accelerated sunset at sea. The same balearic iterations define the deeply emotional 'Knee', in which the sound breathes and expands skywards. The closing track 'Afternoon' is a warm house ballad to round-off the last moments of a long after-hours session.

Format: 7 inches
Tracklisting:
A1 No Point Complaining - Cw Jones (prod. Suif)
B1 No Point Complaining (Instrumental)
Description:
It was 2017 when, chilling in the sunny Marseille in Provence, we first listened to this beat in Suif's Studio.
The French producer (Siska / Watcha Clan) had chopped a 70's Anatolian hit and had turned it into a soul instrumental. We gently moved that diamond onto our hard disk and few months later we sent it to one of the deepest soul voices out there, known by the name of Cw Jones.
Incredibly (although it seems a legend it's actually the truth), Cw Jones connected that much with the vibe that he came up with the lyrics in complete freestyle and yes, the first take was the one!
Although we have been listening to this piece for a long time now, every time we play it it's an instant classic, and we're so proud to be able to offer this gem to you, pressed on our most appreciated vinyl format, the 7" inches.
Enjoy, we hope you'll feel the magic as we do <3

Mori Ra - Der Hangebruckenlator's
Vinyl Only! lim to 300 Copies!
It's an honor for us to i ntroduce you to one of the artists that has i nfluenced us the most since we
started our story back i n 2015. I still remember l istening to the first edits that Mori-Ra posted on his
soundcloud page and since then, here at MM Discos we've always had an eye on every single thing
that he has put on the streets.
Obsessed digger and one of Japan's most esteemed collectors, Osaka's based dj Mori Ra must be
one of the most determinate artists on the scene. His Vast knowledge of l ocal and i nternational
music has developed his wide ranging style.
An artist that flees from fashions, vinyl l over and a true tastemaker. Eclecticism i s probably the word
that i t could define him better; Disco, Balearic, New Age, New Wave, Jazz, Rock, Experimental and
everything i n between should be expected on his sets and edits, blending all this genres and
breaking all the rules i n order to keep the dancers and music l overs on their toes and grooving.
Mori Ra's MM Discos 13 i s the result of the continuous and relentless exploration for years of
thousands of ( almost) forgotten records, regardless of genre and author. A work not suitable for all
tastes, unclassifiable and highly addictive.

Tracks:

B1 Life Is Rhythm (122 bpm) | 10:25 B2 On The Early (118 bpm) | 8:09
RHYTHM is life and life is rhythm. Not only is it our mantra here at Neighbour Recordings,
it's also inspired the title of our debut release from brand-new production partnership
and label owners Base Pilot [aka Quantec and Birke TM]. Featuring four original tracks,
the Life Is Rhythm EP is a full thirty minutes of dope, low-slung house that perfectly
unites the duo’s many years of shared passion for deep electronic music. Identify is the
ideal introduction, swirling synths and deceptively hypnotic, it’s a proper crafty cut,
whilst Ghosts leans towards a more emotive and subtle groove. Title track Life Is Rhythm
is a warm and inviting ten-minute epic of chunky beats, quirky distortion and vocoded
vocal snatches, whereas closing number On The Early is seriously heads-down and deep.
Repeat after us; rhythm is life and life is rhythm.

Release Info:
New W-Agency signing Extrawelt deliver a trio of exhilarating “one-take” jams.
Since their inception in 2005, the Hamburg duo has commanded the loftiest respect throughout the industry
thanks to their thoughtful and emotive brand of house and techno. From ‘Soopertrack’ to ‘Dark Side of the
Room’, every raver worth their salt has had an Extrawelt dancefloor moment, their soaring chords touching
hearts and hips in equal doses.
Taking their intuitive approach to musical production to its next evolutionary phase, the ‘Automatik
Akrobatik EP’ sees them in free-flow form, gifting us with a triumvirate of superb studio jams that
encapsulate everything that’s special about their music. ‘Alpha & Oma’ is uplifting and throbbing, the kind of
visceral techno gem that would make even the most hardened punter a little weapy. ‘Email auf Klinke’ is
punchy and minimal, a solid roller to contrast its predecessor. The title track has the sonic arc of an epic
film score, building from a languid pace to a widescreen glistening wall of sound, inspiring and bad ass in
equal doses.
“These tracks are basically "one take" jams with very few edits afterwards. The computer was mostly acting
as a tape recorder while the arrange took place on the desk and machines. We feel that those tracks that
happen in a nice flow and without overthinking them too much often appear to deliver their energy in a more
raw and direct way but simultaneously also become rather homogenous instead of taking unnecessary
deflections.” - Extrawelt

01) Extrawelt - Alpha & Oma
02) Extrawelt - Email auf Klinke
03) Extrawelt - Automatik Akrobatik

The original sister label to Ram Records from the old Ram HQ studio in Essex, Liftin Spirit Records now celebrates it's 25th year with a special 'RELOADED' limited vinyl series of remastered classics, alongside rare and previously unreleased tracks since the beginning in1992.
DATs from artists such as Andy C, Ant Miles, Shimon, Joint Venture, Interrogator and Red One have been located in the archives. Also from the Ram & Liftin HQ came tracks for the Deep Seven label in 1993 and all these rare DAT masters have been located and now re-cut by Simon, the original Ram & Liftin vinyl masterer at 'The Exchange'. Initially, Deep Seven remasters will present on a printed white label and unreleased tracks will have a black label.
Cup-A-Cha: In 1995-96 the tracks were flowing out of the studio and Ant Miles would often sketch out beats while waiting for Andy C to return. Cup-A-Cha literally fell out of the computer one day and Andy felt it needed to go out as was, especially with the emotion laden piano trills towards the end; reminiscent of the sound of Foul Play who Ant adored. This track actually got Moving Shadow's attention and Ant was invited over to release various tracks as 'Higher Sense' as a result of the vibe of this tune.
The Futurist (Ant Miles Remix): Originally the title track on Red One's debut Liftin Spirit release in 1994, 'The Futurist' was indeed a sound and rhythm ahead of its time which inspired Ant Miles to load up the track for a special remix featured here. This went on to be backed with a remix of 'Alive 'N' Kickin' that Andy C and Ant created as 'Origin Unknown'. This mix captured the sound and vibe of The AWOL raves that are cherished greatly by all of D&B/Jungle heads of the time.
Soon Come:A collaboration between Ant and Andy C that went on to inspire yet another alias for them as 'Concept 2' on Liftin Spirit. Ram was often swamped with releases for months to come, so this found its way to the sister label. 'Concept 2' smashed it out the park in later years with tracks such as 'Cause and Effect'. A Desired State production in full effect.
Bad Influence: Originally a B side for Stakka & K-Tee on Liftin Spirit, being in a similar vein to 'The Futurist'. This track also became an anthem at The Awol nights back in the day with its heads down, haunting, roller vibes.

Its U: This track was a collaboration with 'Rainbow Country' and Ant Miles from the very early years 1991-92. This track was actually released on a first label attempt starting life as 'Etheric Records' that Ant later morphed into 'Liftin Spirit Records'. A Hardcore stormer of the era, smashed by DJ Randall and Grooverider back in the day.
Highlander: Again from way back in 1991, although under the guise of Desired State, this track featured on Ant's friends label 'Strategy Records' which was inspiring Andy & Ant to formulate their own labels.
Turntable Overload: A remix from 1992 by Andy C and Ant Miles for Royal T & DJ XL originally released on Strategy Records. Once again encapturing that early 1990's Hardcore sound that Strategy became well known for.
Move In Motion: The second flip side remix that Ant & Andy created for Royal T & DJ XL, once again, originally released on Strategy Records and remastered from the original DAT.

2
Caserta - Caserta's Curious Mix
Repress!
Caserta is back with another vocal you haven’t heard on it’s own before with music that defies the time period the song was actually recorded in. If it wasn’t for the recognizable vocal that is Curtis the A Side could be confused with something you might of found on Beat Electric back in the day. Growling bass and boogie synths stabs make for a west coast post disco affair.
While the B side is a cheeky take on another 80s classic from the legendary Solar Records catalog. With the familiar 808 drum and lush 80s synths it might be a bit of a task to figure out what version to sing along with!

AUX88 Bass Magnetic re-Issue 1993-2018. Back by popular demand, the same unique spirits that brought forth the sound of Detroit streets and turned it into the futuristic soundscape known as "Techno-Bass", The Original members have collaborated to re-issue their catalog 25+ years later. Starting with their 1st double pack LP, "Bass Magnetic" (considered to be a mesh of influences between Miami bass and Detroit techno), AUX88 established themselves in an effort to stay true to their roots in the streets and the clubs creating their own genre into a global dance culture. After the release and production of their own documentary ("AUX88-Portrait of an Electronic Band"), the group celebrates its now classic recordings. Harkening back to its first days on cassette tape to revive a future generation of vinyl aficionados. AUX88's "Bass Magnetic" = Classic Detroit Electro.

You Can See Your Own Way Out is the first collaborative record between Ilyas Ahmed (Geographic North, Immune, Mie Music) and Jefre Cantu-Ledesma (Shelter Press, Mexican Summer, Type). Long-time friends and satellites orbiting the same communities and scenes, You Can See's inception was never really a question of if, but when. Combining Ahmed's explorative guitar/synth-work and Cantu-Ledesma's field recording, sound processing and electronics, the result presents as a book of short stories or vignettes highlighting their individual strengths. At times evoking pastoral landscapes, others frayed edges of disintegrating photographs, there's always the suggestion of a forked path or a promised destination. Jonathan Sielaff guests on bass clarinet.

Nick Lapien and Robin Koek's latest collaborative album, Days Bygone, helps launch Delsin's Interstellar series as they continue to explore beyond the dancefloor trappings of conventional techno to create a body of work steeped in mystery. Although not totally devoid of percussion, Artefakt shift their focus away from dominant drums and lean on the keys and pads to map out the landscape each track traverses. Sometimes furtive and suggestive, elsewhere pearlescent and diffused across great expanses, it's these striking, sublime formations which define the atmosphere Lapien and Koek have created - a textured, dynamic exercise in techno as internalized listening music.

REPRESS!
After their Pimp Life EP kicked off proceedings last year, Soul Central are back on their very own Electric Shine label with more of that feel good house tackle they do so well. The duo have earned their stripes plenty over the years working with labels like Defected, and they're on searing form here as they whip up a sizzling disco fever with the oh-so-sweet 'Just Friends' and get deep into the groove with the synth-licked 'Party Together'. 'Your Smile' leans in on a truly sentimental vocal hook which will spread infectious positivity out amongst a crowd of party people, and 'Michigan Slide' nudges the heat up with some serious bass flex and bugging Rhodes chords.

Brace! Brace! That record is a bouncing riddim, and we never know where it's gonna land: here noise or miami bass, there dark disco and then Balearic. What could be an easy puzzle for diggers always feels true though. Sincere, like the 14-year-old DJ F16 Falcon, going nuts on some American nu hardcore - the back of the record are actual screenshots testifying of that moment. A life ago, DJ F16 Falcon used to be a part of the noise music scene in Paris, releasing music under the Roger mpr moniker. He dropped the complicated stuff for dance music but kept the industrial touch. We all need some dance. And we all need a Sugar Dada.

The Spaces Between Featuring Harry Denni - Ghosts (Black Science Orchestra Dub)
The Spaces Between were formed out of creative studio sessions in the summer of 2020 and comprises of bona fide house legend Terry Farley, electronic music producer Wade Teo and renowned author and co-owner of Club Chi’ll Records, Ian ‘Snowy’ Snowball. The idea for ‘Ghosts’ came from Terry’s idea to reference the Jazz greats who have gone to glory leaving behind their astonishing musical legacies. Within days of emailing a comprehensive list of jazz artists to Chicago House luminary and The It/ Jungle Wonz member, Harry Dennis, an answer with Harry’s sparse, haunting vocals was received. These were laid down over a bed of live instruments and electronic sounds and the combined talents of The Spaces Between created the compelling jacking jazz vibe of ‘Ghosts’.
Snowy ran the track past Jo Wallace at F*CLR Records – it was love at first listen. Jo suggested the track should be part of an EP with remixes from the newly reformed Black Science Orchestra. It was agreed and provided an ideal opportunity for Ashley to work with Terry once again, reinforcing the Junior Boy’s Own heritage.
The first incarnation of Black Science Orchestra began life in 1992 when Ashley Beedle joined forces with Rob Mello and their debut release, ‘Where were you’ exploded onto the global dance scene via the iconic UK house label JBO. Broken in the US by the Godfather of House, Frankie Knuckles, ‘Where were you’ entered into the hallowed halls of immortal dance music. Black Science Orchestra has become one of the most respected deep house acts of the 1990s, with the revered album ‘Walter's Room’ and the legendary genre crossing 'New Jersey Deep' track that is considered one of the top dance tracks of all time and rarely leaves discerning DJs' record boxes. Fast forward 29 years and original BSO founding fathers, Ashley and Rob decided that both they and the world needed the sound of Black Science Orchestra again and decided to reform, inviting long time musical and studio accomplice Darren Morris to join the collective now in its 6th incarnation!
When presented with the original version of ‘Ghosts’, Rob, Ashley and Darren loved it and all heard various ways it could be reworked in a true Black Science Orchestra way. Donning their pandemic production hats and remotely getting their feet back under the studio desk again, they worked together to create distinctly different remixes ranging from the deep, spacy electronic to the tough and psychedelic sleazy funk. With original BSO productions included on this EP, 'Ghosts' has helped square off the circle and the Black Science Orchestra conductors are back and mean dance floor business!

Drunkenstein - This That Shit (Clean Version) [Drunkenstein Remix]
The label with the big center hole is back! Another two instrumentals on the A while Keith Murray got remixed on the B. Heavy sampled material for the extra oldschool flavour. Golden 90's sound for the underground.

Tim Taylor - Vibrate
Rising British house producer Tim Taylor makes his debut on Hot Creations this May with the four-track Do You Like...EP. The release continues a standout 2021 schedule for the young talent that has seen him deliver on Deeperfect Shift already this year. Do You Like sets the pace, pairing prominent kicks with a spiralling acid-twinged bassline. Check It soon arrives, taking on a deep-tech-inspired feel with pummelling drum patterns before Scratch strips things back, featuring subtle hats and minimal-tones throughout. Vibrate brings things to a close, a late-night dance floor number that showcases the up-and-coming Brit at his best.

Louisahhh - Feral Rhythm
2
Louisahhh - Chaos (Wax Wings Remix)
Louisahhh releases her debut LP The Practice of Freedom, via HE.SHE.THEY. The Practice of Freedom heralds the evolution of Louisahhh as she delivers her most exposing work yet, conceived as an exploration of the unorthodox archetype of “feminist submissive,” based on the mantra “sin is not being true to yourself.” Like her uncompromising musical heroes Karen O, Siouxsie Sioux and Shirley Manson before her, Louisahhh’s bold, raw, anti-establishment message on The Practice of Freedom will mark her as punk’s essential new heroine at the forefront of the new dawn of musical feminism. The Practice of Freedom was born from experiences of loss and love, told through a journey of brutally beautiful electronics, electro and techno colliding with industrial, rock and alternative sounds. On the polysexual polymath label HE.SHE.THEY.’s inaugural album release, Louisahhh captures a record of our times, covering themes ranging from eroticism and empowerment to addiction and apocalypse, and influences ranging from Nine Inch Nails to Patti Smith to Judith Butler. The album, produced by American musician, music video director and photographer Vice Cooler, hears ideas and lyrics by Louisahhh re-contextualised into revolutionary experimental sounds, formed through the pair’s shared love of American alternative rock. Louisahhh’s music fights for and provides a voice for others, rooted equally in the intensity of the dancefloor and the mosh pit.

Shamis & Rebiere - Shake It Off (B.Bravo Remix)
*repressed with new art*
Amsterdam-based duo Shamis & Rebiere invite you to let go of daily stresses with the four-on-the-floor groover Rock It For Ya. The beats and soulful instrumentations are enriched with the vocals by Shamis, who also adds to the theme of the track in his lyrics. “Let me rock it ’til the lights go out and the sun will rise again” reminds us of a time we possibly all long for. Reminded of something Kaytranada-esque drum programming, the harmonies and chords really keep you engaged with the track.
Shake It Off takes on a modern soul approach to the theme of the EP. With a slower pace than the A-side, it’s equally as infectious to make you move. The duo’s dynamic is most clear in the way certain synth licks and horn melodies blend together with Shamis’ soothing vocals. Lush chords and laid back drums provide a care-free feeling, perfectly underlining the concept of the EP.
The EP comes with a remix of each track and both are very much in line with the theme. FOUK add a house touch to Rock It For Ya with a heavy bass line, capturing (or reminiscing) a club night feeling. B.Bravo adds his signature modern funk sound to Shake It Off, making it even more irresistible to maintain your body still. It’s evident that both understood how to translate the theme of the EP to their remixes.

Franck Kartell - Victoria
Newly launched Dutch electro label LDI Records follows up their first release from T/Error with a deep and dark four track EP by French producer Franck Kartell. In a homage to masterful science fiction writer Philip K Dick - Side A of Electric Sheep EP evokes scenes from future mechanized worlds. Electric Sheep kicks the 12" off with a melancholic and contemplative moment followed by a steel cold and brooding venture in Voigt-Kampff. On the B side of this release, there is a live mix of Kartell's track Electro Music, a futuristic electro work out with kicks for the dancefloor. The EP completes with Victoria - an ode to the electronic musician Victoria Lukas who passed away in 2020 - with a beautifully poised and contemplative track steeped in synths. Franck Kartell is a French producer who has releases on Between Places, Transient Force, Ukonx Recordings, New Flesh, Bass Agenda and others. Since 2005 he has been producing well thought-out Electro music filled with dark atmospheres and driving rhythms. Specializing in moody, atmospheric electro, LDI Records (Lloyd's Dark Imperium) are an essential label to watch.

A Vision Of Panorama have the kind of quintessentially inviting sound that by rights should find him soundtracking every sojourn from the swanky lounge bar to the sunkissed terrace, no matter the crowd. After the blissful sounds of the Sentimental Coast EP and Follow The Melody last year, Mikhail Khvasko returns with his third full-length, this time on Mellophonia. If you already dig the Panorama sound, you know what to expect. Plush, symphonic synth tapestries dripping with good vibes and accomplished musicality. You might get the odd dash of sultry sax, as on album highlight 'The Light', but primarily this is a place to revel in Khvasko's illustrious, feel-good keys.

Sven Wunder - Impasto
2
Sven Wunder - Prussian Blue
Tracklist:
A. Impasto
B. Prussian Blue
In collaboration with Piano Piano Records, Mr Bongo is thrilled to present a taster 7” single, ‘Impasto’ / 'Prussian Blue’. The single showcases the colourful palette of Sven Wunder's fabulous forthcoming third album 'Natura Morta’. The album is set to be released on Piano Piano Records later in 2021 with this 7” acting as the perfect prelude.
Sven's 2019 album 'Eastern Flowers' took us into the world of Anatolian rock, European jazz, library, funk, psychedelia, and traditional folk melodies. The 2020 follow up, 'Wabi Sabi’, mixed jazz and Eastern and Southern Asian sounds to present an aural aesthetic of the Japanese ancient wisdom. 'Natura Morta’, "still life" in Italian, owes its inspiration to art. Sven Wunder explores it as a bridge between nature and the human ability to judge and observe through eleven unique musical compositions, each one brightly coloured and textured with an emphasis on vibrant melodies.
As with previous Sven Wunder material the tracks here on this 7" are covered in lush orchestration, evoking the rich musical soundscapes of a previous era (think library music or the film scores of Morricone). First up is the beautiful ‘Impasto’ which refers to the technique used in painting where the paint is laid in very thick layers on a surface. With its lavish sweeping strings and melodies there are echoes of the arrangements of Arthur Verocai, but it then takes a turn into 60s detective movie territory. You can imagine it being the score to a scene in a Harry Palmer film which breaks for a romantic interlude in between the action and suspense.
'Prussian Blue’, is built on Sven’s ‘Shinrinyoku' from the 'Wabi Sabi’ album, sharing the same melody but here with an uptempo beat and another arrangement. It begins with a moment of calm with its soothing piano intro before it bursts into a percussive breakbeat workout. It skates and glides with the influences of Italian library music and Eastern melodies, yet at the same time it retains a unique element that can only be Sven Wunder. 'Prussian Blue' refers to the pigment that was imported to Japan.
Once again, we are indebted to Sven Wunder and John Henriksson at Piano Piano Records for letting us share this melodious vision from one of our favourite contemporary musicians. The compositions on this 7" were produced with financial support from the Swedish Arts Council.

Anthony Rother links up with Detroit heavyweights Keith Tucker and DJ Di'jital for a deep exploration of psionic robot engineering and extrasensory electro styles. Truly extending the work of Kraftwerk and others, Anthony, Keith and Lamont came to define electro in the late 90s and tirelessly continue to develop their sound to this day, culminating in the Psi Robotics EP - a cold scan of the minds of future machines and their hypnotic influence.

DC Salas - Within

DC Salas - Liquid Perception
DC Salas’s second EP indeed is a tale of beautiful feelings: After his last year’s debut EP on Live At Robert Johnson called The Complicated Art of Dreaming, this fresh four tracker is a proof to his creative continuity. A1 Did They Listen rhythmic structure banks on a pounding and effective combination of bassdrum, conga and cowbell, joined by a mildly distorted bass line figure, which embeds itself in a panoramic soundscape. A2 Beautiful Feelings introduces a remarkable striking sawtooth sequence, with repeated filtered and resonating variations, alternating throughout the track. On the flipside, B1 Within employs yet another bubbly bassline, keeping the soundscape wide-open to retain enough sonic space for that eerie, yet highly energetic Cosmic Disco touch. B2 Liquid Perception signature is a liquid acid bassline introduced in the second part of the track, perfectly befitting its track title. All tracks of this monolithic EP, thanks to its consistent approach to sound design, could easily be mixed subsequently with each others. DC Salas is thirtysomething year old Diego Cortez Salas, a skilled talent with peruvian origins hailing from Brussels. A regular DJ at C12 and Kiosk Radio both in Brussels, Diego also co-runs Biologic Records with his mate Abstraxion since 2014.

Bertil Mark - Too Distant (Popnoname Remix)
3
Bertil Mark - 12345
4
Bertil Mark - 12345 (Julian Stetter Remix)
Bertil Mark says it all: Too Distant How much do we miss the happiness on the dance floor !? This "Anything goes" - the digressing to be closer to yourself - detached from the external circumstances that concern us in everyday life. This just being happy not listening to the music but to listen to yourself with the music: That's what Bertil Mark creates. Too Distant is the desire to be close and yet shows us: we are alone together. PNN has decided at a time when a lot is breaking down - others are waiting for the crisis to end - to continue where it was lost some time ago - especially in this uncertain time to start again with the simple claim: "What does the world cost? - lets go!" Even when there are no raves, parties or festivals - listen to the music and live the dream. You are not alone! Bertil Mark is no stranger to Germany's music scene - not least as a producer of Popnoname, Urlaub in Polen, Von Spar or German pop greats like Clueso or Thomas D - on whose former horse farm "M.A.R.S." he resides and has built an unlikely music studio. As a show & light designer he works with The Notwist, FM Einheit, Jan Delay, Lindemann etc together, to name just a few stars of German pop culture. But Bertil is also what is called an apparition. When he walks through the streets, people stop and watch him. Not just because of his great looks - no - there is something about him that makes him unique. What many know about themselves, but very few manage to live out. And yes - Parago Seiler put it this way: "[...] he is always one step ahead of himself, uncompromising in artistic matters and probably what you would call a real artist [...]" On Too Distant, the debut on PNN, he does what he promises. Two incredible tracks that make you dance and dream with remixes by Popnoname and Julian Stetter, who will then release his first full-length album on PNN. All of this digitally and on vinyl - at a time when there is no such thing as giving up. We want the world, and we want it now

Stephan Bazbaz / Alessio Viggiano - Amaro
Following the release of a handful of fifth anniversary EPs, France's Politics Of Dancing Records has decided to kick-start a new era for the label via a joint EP from serial collaborator Stephan Bazbaz and sometime Discotech Wax/4Plae Records contributor Alessio Viggiano. To our ears, the undisputed EP highlight is smooth, spacey and rolling opener 'Mogora', a late '90s style UK tech-house/deep house crossover cut that comes accompanied by a smoother and more hypnotic rework by Arapu. Over on the flip, the pair first offer up the more driving, angular and peak-time ready bounce of 'Immortal', before wrapping sharp, angular electronic melodies and warming chords around more bustling beats on bold closing cut 'Amaro'.

2
Kemeticjust presents Just One - Memory By Flyway (Justin Spiritual Navigation mix)
This one was already getting plenty of support and many plays before it even came out. And it's easy to see why, because both tunes are brilliantly atmospheric house cuts that offer more than just a nice groove. 'Memory By Flyway' (original Tribute mix) has a grainy, lived-in feel, with warm chords smeared over the bumping beats and a spoken word vocal adding extra depth. The Justin Spiritual Navigation mix reworks the drums into a more funky, skipping framework but keeps the vocal musings and adds some spiritual keys for a proper heady trip.

Play On Records is proud to present Flashed Glass, a full length LP from electronic duo Sleep D and mixed chamber ensemble Ad Lib Collective. Culminating from a two-year project borne out of a live collaboration in a Melbourne underground carpark, the LP marries the euphoria of the concert hall and the club, presenting a rich sonic universe for the listener to discover.
Having first been introduced at rehearsals for Play On's 6th series in late 2018, the two groups hit it off, opting to perform a semi-improvised set together, rather than two separate sets as originally planned. They soon realised their pairing could unlock sounds they wouldn't have otherwise found on their own, and their idea for further collaboration was born.
In March 2020, the two groups recorded at Head Gap studios in Preston — layering sounds, building melodies, and striking out what didn't work — until the COVID-19 pandemic cut things short, twice, due to Melbourne's dual lockdowns. This resulted in an accidental hybrid work, finishing as a mix of live professional recordings, and DIY home-recorded samples, with the latter including crushed plastic and pulverised sea shells.

Next up from Mind Fair is a crafty cover of cosmic classic, That Thing, by That Thing. Originally released as a currently scarce 12 on AVI in 1977, That Thing was a one-off synth-pop project produced by Dutch musician Geertjan Lacunes – who worried the outer limits of various European hit-parades during the ‘70s and ‘80s under the alias Jerry Rix. German label Jupiter picked up the quirky curio and repressed it as 7 for wider distribution, no doubt envisioning that they’d licensed a novelty monster the scale of Chicory Tip’s Son Of My Father - which alas was not the case.
The track was however a firm favourite of pioneering Italian DJ, Daniele Baldelli, since its wonky bass riff can be heard spinning in and out of a multitude of his legendary mixtapes - where it`s twisted, almost inverted, by the maestro’s use of EQ.
Back in 2020, Mind Fair have fashioned a faithful but you-betcha beefed-up reworking. The crazy lyric - care of Chicken Lips cohort, Johnny Spencer - and cowbells accompanied by un-MIDI-ed Moog and modular synth twitches, italo arpeggios and fuzzed guitar tones.
Fabrizio Mammerella delivers a remix that's like a meeting of NYC’s Emergency Records, and Belgium’s Antler and Subway. Chris Barbosa and Morton, Sherman and Belluci. ‘80s New York and ‘90s New Beat. Dropping the chorus into devastating delay, chopping Johnny up into percussive Pop Muzik snippets. Sealing the psychedelic deal with a deft dose of analogue acid.
In comparison, Eric Duncan’s re-imagining, initially comes across as kinda muted, but that’s just to catch you off guard. While pitched down, and the drums for sure more sedate, it’s definitely the trippier of the two revisions - with all sorts of strangeness throwing abstract shapes deep in its detail. That 303 now sounding severely stoned.
It’s like that cat at the afters, the one who commandeers the drinks table in the kitchen and then bends any and every unsuspecting ear - spontaneously connecting the disparate dots in the universe, seemingly without stopping to draw breath - while endlessly shaking folks’ cocktails. The kind of nut that everyone knows, but can never work out how they make it home.
Tongue-in-cheek weirdness worthy of Eric’s Rub N Tug partner, Thomas Bullock, and his mate, DJ Harvey, too slow to disco, too high to stop dancing, it’s quality psyche gear for the experienced, discerning, dimensional traveler. There’s a dub for those that can’t quite handle the vocal (lightweights!).

Red D - Track B
Belgian underground DJ/producer Red D continues his solo Red Basics quest with the second release in this series in which he explores a variety of sounds that make him tick, always drawing inspiration from his favourite city: Detroit. The A-side travels to the heartland of classic Detroit deep house, taking in deep chords, a pitched-down vocal sample and the subbest of bass antics making for a groove that can be enjoyed both on and off the dancefloor. On the B-side the melancholy of the continued longing for better days prevails, delivering a cut to make you think and sway at the same time. Electronic music for your mind, heart, body and soul.

Repress!
Ce Ce Rogers' spine tingling, seminal hit 'Someday' gets a much-welcomed official remastered, reissue 31 years after it first took the scene by storm.
Produced by Chicago's master, Marshall Jefferson, every element is unmistakable - from the dynamic bass and sweeping flutes that set the scene for that instantly recognisable piano riff, to the raw soulful beauty of Rogers' vocals. 'Someday' is a record that truly captures the euphoric, loving nature of the early house music scene - epitomising a timeless spirit and hope for future harmony within society.
Often cited as one of the greatest dance records of all time, it's influence is clear to be seen from the sheer number of covers and records that have since sampled it. An indisputable masterpiece, complete with dub mix and accainstrumental versions, this is an essential 12" for any record collector out there - house head or not.

KROME & TIME - Original Juggling

KROME & TIME - Nonstop Rocking
Suburban Bases favourite duo Krome & Time rare DAT studio masters saved! Krome & Time provided the very first Suburban Base release that launched the now legendary label, under the alias Kromozone catalogue number SUBBASE 001 set the tone for the label that became and integral part of the development of Rave and Breakbeat Hardcore into Jungle and Drum & Bass! So who better to kick off the relaunch of such a revered brand than the legendary duo that started it all KROME & TIME! With brand new sleeve design from original SubBase illustrator Dave Nodz! Having accessed a long forgotten storge facility and discovered a treasure trove of Suburban Base master tapes, we struck gold when we found box after box of unreleased and exclusive master recordings from some of the biggest artists within the SubBase family. The two exclusive tracks that make up this release were huge dubplate only specials and have never been released as vinyl singles or digitally. Finding the master copy of the once thought lost 'Original Juggling' was incredible, the song is much asked after and as an album exclusive on the 1995 Telepathy Dub Plate Special was never given a full release only appearing on that project. ‘Non-Stop Rocking’ was a 1995 dubplate recorded specifically as an album exclusive for the legendary Drum & Bass selection album project and stayed exclusively on dubplate receiving extensive club and radio play whilst remaining only available within D&B selection. These sought-after tracks remained stuff of legend never having had a digital release or full vinyl release… until now! From the original master tapes of Suburban Base we present this slamming 12inch from Krome & Time

Dominic Balchin - Nothing Is The Same
2
Da Lukas - Get Disco Vibes
3
Moodena - Who Got the Keys?
4
Toby O'Connor - Low & Slow
With the promise of brighter days on the horizon when we can come together at our favourite clubs, parties and festivals Tropical Disco Records are ready to help define those exciting days ahead with the next volume in their hugely cherished vinyl series. Tropical Disco Records Volume 21 is a 12” packed with warmth and musical depth featuring four timeless dance-floor moments.
The EP opens with a huge slice of organic jazzy US influenced garage in the shape of ‘Nothing Is The Same’ by the superbly talented Dominic Balchan. He’s a new name who has been making big waves recently. If you caught Domenic’s recent offering on TDR LTD 002 ‘A Touch of Jazz’ you will know what to expect. ‘Nothing Is The Same’ has a wonderfully classic feel which recalls the early days of the legendary Soulfuric imprint. A huge bassline is front and centre here providing the drive. It’s backed up by powerhouse keys and some wonderfully hooky vocals. Add in guitar licks and huge trumpet solos and this is one of the finest cuts you are likely to catch this year. Domenic is a talent to keep a close eye on that’s for sure.
Next up is Da Lukas, a highly rated producer hailing from Italy, a country which is currently serving up some of the finest disco and house out there right now. ‘Get Disco Vibes’ keeps the energy levels sky high. Featuring another unstoppable bassline it’s packed with brass stabs aplenty which will cause all sorts of dancefloor mischief. Laser synths, loopy vocals and club ready drums complete a track which has floor filler written all over it.
Co label head Moodena is up next keeping his golden 2021 run flowing nicely with the laid back groove of ‘Who Got The Key’s’. This one is a DJ’s dream with its effervescent keys, bubbling bass and 80’s synth stabs. It’s a track which has more than a touch of jazz running through its DNA creating a powerful and enticing sound. Expect this one to be a summer soundtrack at all the right parties.
Closing the EP out is Welsh producer Toby O'Connor. While Toby is another relatively new name on the scene he’s clearly a producer on a mission with a string of excellent releases landing over the last 12 months which have picked up some serious DJ support. ‘Low & Slow’ is every bit a Balearic gem with its wah guitars, hypnotic bassline and dreamy sax licks. It’s a track with 90’s jazz funk fusion running through its veins and is perfectly placed as the more organic edges of the genre come flooding back to entertain a whole now generation.
Tropical Disco Volume 21 takes you on a wonderful musical journey fusing classic US garage vibes with warm jazzy disco touches and plenty of sun soaked groove. It’s everything that club music needs to be right now as we head back to the dancefloor and look to renew and reaffirm our scene. Expect a colourful explosion of musical warmth which sees no boundaries as it unites sounds and scenes from across the musical globe.

Justin Deighton & Leo Zero - Humans
Second up on 7's Clash we have a spoken word mid-tempo piano house chugger, squarely in the balearic nu-disco camp that Pete Herbert excels in. With the original version on the flip at a more dubby pace reminiscent of early back room tracks you’d hear in the days of white jeans, waistcoats, perms and pointy finger dancing….
