Open produced and very fresh and full sounding the two to long and intensely reduced tracks are immediately touching, thrilling and are much thicker cut than your ordinary berlin click track. You could almost call it “Maximal” , hehe ;) Again side a is a kicking stylish electronic build up theme – reduction with just the right punch(the one that is missing so often these days,hehe)and great compressed bliss that simply rocks unstoppable once you get hooked into this unique below the line killer groove. 8 minutes that just fly by like a “Hot Rod” and you´re immediately tempted to stay “tuned” , hand the keys over to wood and let him do the driving for the next 10 hours or so! “Dakini” is more dark and mystical in appeal with a sturdy bassline and wicked nervous infrastructure making the whole gem as another two double a side 12”. Next stop Woody!!

Vakant returns with a new chapter of scuzzy techno from Alex Smoke under his new Quixote guise. Alex Smoke has had a phenomenal year so far with the release of his ´Paradolia´ album on Soma. For his vakant productions he has opted to record under the Quixote pseudynom as his output for the two labels has naturally developed in different directions. For vakant he has always explored the darker aspects of his sound and the Quixote productions will represent this.

The fifth release from imprint Truffle Music brings you an electro-disco stormer from long-time Toronto contributor Don Cash's third LP release 'On The Bus' (stereoeagle). Star Dust fuses rock, electro and rap with Cash's unique vocal style ranging from drawl to falsetto in a very effective fashion. The original version is an up-tempo electro funk fusion that has serious dancefloor sensibilty yet sticks to a pop arrangement that keeps the momentum flowing from start to finish. Synth bass and up-front 4/4 drums drive the track, while several squelchy synth sounds are used creating a robotic melody with Cash's haunting vocals. The song follows a verse/chorus/verse pattern throughout it's four minutes, making a great crossover Electro track that still manages to ride the edge. Steve Yanko (Truffle, Plant, Prize) takes on remix duties and delivers a dj friendly mix that extends the intro and outro and overall track length to close to 8 minutes. Drums and bass are brought to the front of the mix, while his arrangement effectively chooses to repeat the lighter verse and save the headier chorus for one time near the end. New synth elements are introduced throughout, adding a spacey feel to the mix but all the while staying true to the overall sound of the original version.
