after "x-attack" this is the second 12" taken from the recent Phonique album that's gaining rave reviews everywhere and proves to be an all-around dj-weapon. the quirky "99 & a half" features sexy, sleazy vocals from the one and only Alexander East and tight tech-rhythms combined with sweet deep keys. besides the extended album version there's a great late-night dub version plus especially a super dope I:CUBE version finally balanced between oldschool chicago rhythms, busy acid lines and percussive african-finger-piano style sounds. another Dessous sure-shot!!

After two strong EPs „Triple Bolted“ (pfr35) and „Unterwegs mit Guido Schneider“ (pfr47 incl. the clubhit „Re-Moved“) and the amazing remix for Steve Bug‘s „Loverboy - re-loved“ (pfr50) Berlin based up and coming minimal wizard Guido Schneider is back with a brand new EP. For „Oh My Buffer“ Guido teams up with his buddy Jens Bond. The „duo infernale“ has been playing DJ gigs together and here follows their first joint release.Jens Bond has been building his Dj carreer over the past years with gigs in Berlin‘s hottest clubs Tresor, Maria, Ostgut, Sternradio & Pfefferbank and since 2003 he‘s the resident at the Watergate (Berlin). „Oh My Buffer“ is another very well produced minimal masterpiece with the typical Guido Schneider ingredients: dry as dry can be, but still forward and funky, amazing sounds and instruments with subtile effects, twists and turns. Although Guido spends much attention to lots of details, his tracks always remain monolithic and great fun to listen to.Jeff Samuel, who currently released on Morris Audio and Frankie Rec contributes a funky remix of „Oh My Buffer“. Although close to the original, he turned the bassline into a funky stepper and added some mellow chords and bleeps. „Bassism“ on B2 is a stonecold and dark minimal Electro-House track with a rattling rhythm construction and weird diabolic vocal fragments you better should not listen to when they are played backwards.
