It's been ten years already, since Jacek Sienkiewicz established his Recognition label, and six years since "Téchnè", first artist's full length for Sven Väth's Cocoon Recordings. The Warsaw-Frankfurt connection seems to work quite well, as you are about to experience Jacek's astonishing mix CD/compilation. For the last ten years Jacek was carving his very own niche in this genre formerly known as techno. Paying respect due to the classic masters of Detroit sound, he never followed formulas and classic frames of what was once called minimal techno, instead always working on both expanding and questioning the music we used to know. Be it studio work, his countless live performances around the globe, his collaborations with some of his contemporaries or his work as a promoter introducing some of the world's finest talents to local audience - his actions, albeit always on the side of club mainstream, were always deeply rooted in his very own vision of electronic music as a true psychedelic experience. Hence, the modern dance was born. As we all know, dance is an art form, referring to the movements of human body. Be it a form of one's expression, social interaction or the extension of spiritual life, dance is most often associated with music. Dance embodies emotions, expresses ideas and generally tells a story. Music is the catalyst. The modern dance was raised out of rebellion against the strict formulas of tradition - and so was the music you are about to hear. Jacek Sienkiewicz has been exploring emotional, physical, mental, communicative or finally artistic aspects of dance and music for the last ten years. Probing and expanding boundaries of classic techno music, filtering Detroit sound through innumerable studio experiments, his music became the way to express his deepest inner feelings and visionary creativity - and this is exactly what modern dance is about. As the tracks compiled here were originally released either on Recognition, or Cocoon Recordings during past few years. And here Jacek modestly presents his extraordinary mixing skills, applied to his timeless club anthems - driving "Double Secret", hands-raising "Time Starts Now", latest hit "Beacon", "Jeden" co-produced with Marcin Oz/DJ Highfish, or most recent "Eastern Promises", performed together with Chilean maestro Pier Bucci. Add to this Jacek's final Cocoon entry "All Yours", simply designed to set this years dance floors on fire, and closing midnight lullaby "Good Luck" - we come with a selection of tracks serving both as a document of timeless contemporary club music - and, as the modern dance knows no rules and no limits, as the beginning of something new...

So the story goes:
A few years ago I played a cool underground party in Stockholm with my good friend and crazy record collector Mark Seven. Early on that night Mark played me this beautiful and melancholic piece of music.
Mark happily handed me his spare copy and my record collection for a second felt a little more complete... Originally released as a b-side track to Al's Slipshod EP on Out of the loop the track continued to
mesmerize whenever I played it and the fact that so many people loved it and equally as many didn't know the record I though a re-release could be a great idea. It's inclusion on Gerd Janson's recent Sonar Kollektiv compilation and the fact that it's been played by legendary DJ Harvey ( O Bearded one as he's known to by the initiated)has obviously helped to spread it's fame to. Now hopefully showing it's full potential we bring you the remastered "Lullaby for Robert" with a whole bunch of remixes made with love by remixers spellbounded by it's magic.
On part 1 we bring you : The original + Bogdan Irkük Remix Part 2 will include reworks by Mark Seven, Gatto Fritto and yours truly

Phonique‘s unique vision of house music is continued with the next exciting release on his ‚Ladies & Gentlemen‘ imprint. Serving as a teaser and a taster for the forthcoming ‚Time For House‘ album, this EP holds three new and exclusive cuts. The album will feature these three lovely numbers, plus more hot new material from Phonique, Tigerskin, Rubini and more. As the name suggests, ‚Time For House‘ is an open-armed welcome into the blissful, warm and groovy, timeless house sound of L & G! Dessous and Poker Flat key artist Vincenzo has his say on the A side, with a long extended cut that gently builds lashings of tension and early morning drama with its deep stabbing push and open, floating breaks. As if we were soaring on the airy breeze of a warm summer‘s evening, or raising our hands at an essential openair in Berlin, ‚Return of Sha‘ captures that super elated feeling perfectly. Vincenzo refines his sound once again, and marks a beautiful moment for the dancefloor, but also for more relaxed situations.
Fellow Berliner Tigerskin aka Dub Taylor aka Alex Krüger continues the summery, frozen-moment vibes with ‚Too Hot‘. Simple and classic synth hooks combine and layer to describe a chilled house jam that oozes positivity and good times. Well known for his many aliases and wide variety of production styles, this track will not disappoint the deephouse heads out there, but will also please fans of his impeccable sound design and tasteful melodic abilities. Belgium‘s Kolombo aka Olvier Gregoire sends off the B side in style with his captivating classic deep dancefloor house exploration named ‚Next Dream‘. Wonderful, organic house sentiments meet characteristic percussion in this wonderfully sequenced conclusion to the EP. Gregoire is by no means a newcomer, with countless releases and remixes under his belt, and the warmer-weather vibes of ‚Next Dream‘ works wonders as always!
