Credit 00 - You Need 2 Chill
Credit 00 is still doing his thing with PUT THE FUNK BACK IN 2 TECHNO, saving you from the horrors of today's life with a bunch of stirring tracks to dance against oppression. On his seventh EP for Uncanny Valley the Leipzig based funkster finds solace in his craft, doing what he does best. And that is to make dance music that is both undeniably catchy and blessed with an ever-surprising range of ideas and styles. What all the tracks have in common is that they have been written by someone who is deeply committed to the roots of dance music. On top of that, he has the enviable ability to find titles that already give you a hunch of sound and message of the tracks, even before you listen to them. Be it the title track with its wild Detroit rhythms and piano sound bits or the closer YOU NEED 2 CHILL, a still highly danceable ode to 90s chill out floors. While the stomping BRAZILIAN BUTT LIFT gets use of Credit 00's own voice, the chords heavy CHURCH FOR THE RENEGADES is a perfect example of inventive use of vocal samples. All in all, it's music you pretty much can't help but love. Also, don't miss a closer look at the front and back cover, which are full of references and iconographies from the history of dance music. In typical Credit 00 style, it's a super entertaining way for the artist to give credit to a lot of his influences.

DJ City - Cosmicomics

DJ City - Pillars Of Creation

DJ City - Moon Milk
From Sweden with Italo to Dresden with love. Stockholm's DJ City drops his first release on Dresden's Uncanny Valley with the COSMICOMICS EP, a 100% fun record for all the senses, deeply inspired by Italo Calvino's iconic short story collection. The stories have inspired DJ City to a record that aesthetically draws from 80s Italo Disco and 70s science fiction films. In the book, each story is based on a scientific fact about the world and the cosmos whilst using fiction to ask how we understand it. Where Calvino's stories are comical and absurd, DJ City surrenders to the sublime and romantic and moves further into the metaphysical world that Calvino created to come up with three energetic and melodic tracks bursting heavily with fantasy and drama. Deeply rooted in dance music's history, they shine with Hi-NRG-vibes, strict dancefloor commitment and little easter eggs like that Drexciya-reference in COSMICOMICS. The cover of the record is a painting from 2020 by Swedish artist Jens Faenge called THE INN. The picture seems to have been broken up into several dimensions, and abstract details make it difficult for the viewer to know exactly what and when the scene is taking place. When shown in Shanghai, the painting was censored by government agents and had to be taken down. A testament to the power of the image. Perhaps it shows our main character, perhaps it shows us the author or the artist. Depending on who listens, who reads and who looks, a multitude of universes open.

ADSX - Magnetic

Ida Bux - Acidmania
Acid Reflux is an EP compiled by Acid Adams that focuses on acid sounds from different times, genres and genders. The journey starts with the deep and melodic excursions by Nihilist and softcoresoft before we enter a sweaty basement to get lost to rough and punchy tracks by ADSX and Ida Bux. On both sides, a track from the 90s (which has never been released on vinyl before) is followed up by a new composition that was inspired by its predecessor and has been produced especially for this release. Since the 90s-tracks are exclusively by male producers, the concept tries to balance this era-inherent state of affairs with the fact that the new tracks are solely by finta* artists. On a meta-level, this release is about connecting times, genres and genders, beyond forms of binary thinking. The record comes in a reused sleeve from the 90s with a fresh logo sticker designed by Frieedland and a promo sheet like back in the days.

Jacob Stoy's OVERLOAD is here. It is a long-running and crucial project in the Berlin musician and graphic designer's artistic output. What began as a multi-dimensional art project about the over-presence of stimuli hammering our consciousness in the days of late capitalism evolved into a fascinating musical field study into the deep canyons of future IDM, lo-fi wave, freakfolk and everything in between. The album is a piece of conceptual art that uses sound and music to reflect on the modern information society and our relationship to digital content. Lost in the endless stream of sensations, we are not only plagued by fears of missing out on relevant information, but also increasingly by addictive behavior in the form of a permanent longing for content. Despite the constant oversupply, these relationships lead to loneliness, social isolation and the inability to make decisions. Almost inevitably, the musical spectrum on OVERLOAD is extraordinarily broad, ranging from state-of-the-art IDM to lo-fi wave sketches, hip-hop stumblings and freakfolk miniatures through to twisted ambient. Nevertheless, it is surprisingly cohesive and works well as a cure for digital overload in a kind of conceptual irony. It is an album that will inevitably cast a spell over listeners. A very limited physical edition of the album has been designed and manufactured with love and care by Jacob Stoy. It comes in the form of a handmade twelve-sided booklet that consists of eleven printed transparent foils and the CD in a protective sleeve. But Jacob Stoy's album is by no means the end of the OVERLOAD concept. The ideas are being continued on the project's website and in various artistic contributions. Jacob Stoy has asked many friends how they would translate their thoughts on the subject into individual works of art. Many exhibits have already been submitted, with many more to come. The project will ultimately culminate in a concept exhibition that brings together all the contributions and creates a dialog between them.

Credit 00 is back on track with four monsters in his bag that are almost too dangerous to get unleashed. The Uncanny Valley regular from Leipzig sends us down into the electronic vortex while taking some detours to places that haven't been visited in a long time. Thanks to his DIY attitude and an open mindedness for all kinds of music, you can find traces of jungle, garage, trance or even 90s pop and gabber in this hard rocking machine funk. He's juggling with sounds and genres like no one else. It's just so much fun to listen and dance to these tunes. Indeed, there is no other...

Credit 00 - True 2 The Gehm (2019 Version)
3
Credit 00 - The Garden

Credit 00 - Deep In The Jungle
Repress!
Two years ago Credit 00 was lucky enough to find a flat with a winter garden in the midst of the city's concrete vastness. Setting up his studio there, surrounded by plants, facing the backyard oasis with its trees, bushes and birds singing all day was quite the opposite of his usual work environment. The contrast of being in nature whilst surrounded by an urban neighbourhood is explored on Credit 00's latest outing on Uncanny Valley. Two different settings represented on either side of the vinyl record. The street side of the building is Credit 00's typical habitat: rough drums, face melting acid and ghetto style track arrangement. R U READY 2 JACK pays tribute to Belgium New Beat and wants to sound like Hardcore that is coming from the heart. TRUE 2 THE GEHM is an ode to one of the true German Acid innovators, Andreas Gehm (R.I.P.), originally written in 2016 for a compilation, which raised money to help him cover expenses incurred due to his severe health issues. The backyard side reveals the influence of flora and fauna on Credit 00's work. On both THE GARDEN and DEEP IN THE JUNGLE, you can hear his synthetic interpretation of mother nature's repertoire. Birds chirping, acid frogs croaking and the wind blowing through the trees to the sound of jungle drums. Despite all the differences between the concrete and the green jungle, there are also a lot of similarities. As the artwork (hand-drawn by Credit 00 himself) illustrates, graffiti spreads all over buildings like wild vine grows on rocks: chaos reigns everywhere, whether in natural or man-made environments!

Jacob Korn - Relentless
Eight years after Cuthead's "Give'n'Take", it's Sneaker's turn to put together four of his favorite tracks for Uncanny Valley's compilation series. The artwork is once again by Planetluke.com aka Luca Lozano. "This record is a vista of my world where music inhabits the air between people. As an exchange of genius, emotions, gestures - even conventions, rituals, and love. Dedicated to L.B. BaD, whose music I inhaled and whose records inspired me on my quest for deepness. You will be missed!" (Sneaker) Besides L.B. BaD's wonderful "Late In The Evening (Music's Seeping Thru)" you'll get three absolute bangers on top. The Optimistic Misanthropes are Mystic Bill, VeXaTioN and Sneaker himself. One of the most influential Chicago House DJs, true to the underground for over three decades now, and once part of the Trax Records roster... Mystic Bill. VeXaTioN already got to know him back in the days but is currently hailing from Mexico City. His track was born in Los Angeles and remixed by Sneaker in Berlin. Also, Left Unknown's "Maedchen" got the jacking Midas touch from Sneaker, a touch you've come to recognize. Behind the one-off project is Saxonian Gnista aka DJ Detox and somebody who wants to remain incognito. Jacob Korn however is well-known since the early days of Uncanny Valley and is above all Sneaker's best buddy at TailOut Studio, Dresden.

From "Made By Desire" to "Remade By Desire": The Uncanny Valley label from Dresden, Germany curates a remixed and reworked version of the debut album by local pop heroes ATNA and takes us on a trip through various styles of Club Music, electronic Pop excursions and music college Rock'n'Roll. When ATNA sent the German pop world and beyond into rapture with their debut album "Made By Desire" in 2020, the Uncanny Valley crew was also very excited by the duo's life-affirming pop concept. Soon, the idea of a cooperation came up. Since both the band and the label operate from their base in Dresden, contacts were quickly made and the first meeting was so productive that the plan for a collaborative remix and rework album was soon turned into action. Uncanny Valley put together a selection of stylistically diverse artists that took account for the various influences in ATNA's music and reflect the multifaceted sounds of the Uncanny Valley label cosmos. After the initial idea two years ago, "Remade By Desire" is now an album that puts the ATNA songs into new musical context, but sounds surprisingly coherent given the stylistic diversity of the artists involved. It's as if all the musicians had attended a studio retreat for a week and experimented with what is possible when you mix their respective skills. The result is a true crossover album that takes us from edgy techno over orchestral ambient to jazzy punk and challenges without overchallenging.

THE LIGHTS, THE HEAT, THE STROBE, THE SWEAT! Just in time for the club season, Sneaker hands in two ten-minute trips containing the darkest secrets of dance music. And for the working DJ, there are 4 stripped-down tools on top. The Flow is the sound of tomorrow! The Flow is the sound of the 90s. But elevated to the next level. Yeah, progressive! The Flow is the sound of our heroes. The Flow is the sound of NY and Boccaccio wrought into DEEP BEAT. The Flow is the mellow of LB and the trip of Andrew. May they rest in heaven's glory on the wings of eternity! The Flow is the endless vibe of Josh's groove and the elegant abyss of Murk ensouled with celestial angels. The Flow switches paradigm into the extravaganza synthesis of Dazzle Ships. Ain't nuthin but a 909, an Emulator and a Studer. Cream of the crop. Plus the immersive soul of Yvonne drawing from half a century of light, heat, strobe and sweat. And the vision of a continental producer, whose perspective is timeless, deep, and loving. The Flow is a utopia, where clubs exist. - And flourish!

Massimiliano Pagliara - The Empty Room
Three is the magic number and continues the Connection Lost series by Massimiliano Pagliara on Uncanny Valley. The series is a highly emotional project for the masterful Italian DJ and producer with music that is deeply inspired by thoughts on how to cope, once the connection with loved ones is cut. As wide as the feelings and emotions in those situations are, as varied is the sound palette with tracks between Acid, House, Disco and Downbeat. There's also continuity in the visual aspects, as Alexander Dorn aka Credit 00 again created the artwork for the third part of the series in line with the two predecessors.

And here's the good news: Three years after his album SO IST ES IM NADELWALD on Uncanny Valley, there is a new EP called TeqNoTv coming up with music ready to soundtrack not only the sky-high amplitudes of your life.

2 MASSIMILIANO PAGLIARA - SUNSET FUNK
3 DURERSTUBEN - IWESU YEWISU
4 PANTHERA KRAUSE - THE NAKED NOW
5 DANIELA LA LUZ - WHEN YOU GO ALL IN AND WAIT
Friends, it is time for a finish. Here's the seventh and last chapter of the festivities that we put together for our 50th catalogue number. Once again, the mighty graphics wizards Doppeldenk from Leipzig provided us with a delightfull artwork. And once again, you'll get a record that sports a kaleidoscope of sophisticated dance music from Uncanny Valley veterans and newcomers. This time with the emphasis on bright and positive timbres which can be associated with the colour yellow. Cuthead starts things with a bang and his PARTY CHORDS set the tone perfectly (including neck pain after nodding your head to the beat like there's no tomorrow). If chords could be president this would get a lot of votes. Massimiliano Pagliara shifts down a gear with the acoustic road trip SUNSET FUNK, a masterfully arranged track, made up for driving around on your bike, skateboard or whatever vehicle you are using to get from A to B. The slow and sexy IWESU YEWISU from the soul brothers of Duererstuben is a longtime favorite in the Uncanny Valley headquarters. We are super happy that this groover will finally see the light of day. Panthera Krause provides the subtle but euphoric THE NAKED NOW, a House music lesson that's bubbling under the surface. And finally, Uncanny Valley first-timer Daniela La Luz closes the record with WHEN YOU GO ALL IN AND WAIT, a drum heavy but also embracing excursion into your own neural circuit.

After Brexit, we thought it would be a brave attempt to snatch the Queen's interpretational sovereignty over the colour purple. So, we have named our new record just like that. Of course, this is only half the truth, as we named all six other UV050 compilation records after colours as well. The purple one, this one right here, is the second to last, completely with the wonderful artwork by Leipzig's Doppeldenk and four tracks to dance your ass off to. Krakow's Chino shows us how to balance perfectly between straightforward urgency and mystic playfulness. His acidic FORBIDDEN VOICES sports just the right amount of chaos to make you go crazy on the dancefloor. Being a spiritual brother for a long time, it's actually the first time Berliner Johannes Albert releases on Uncanny Valley with his VISION UTOPIA, a subtle House bomb, that pushes just the right buttons to trigger your desire to escape into cosmos. Also from Berlin comes Lake People, who does what he does best with ROAMING THE STREETS: A subtle and razor-sharp track that points out that good dance music can sweeten your life everywhere, not only in the club. Finally, RVDS, one of Hamburg's finest, blesses us with MOON OPERATOR, a deep and masterful dive into sonic sceneries that no one has ever listened to before. Except of course for your expert friends, who claim to have heard even the most obscure dreamy Acid track.

Perm - - "VLIW"

CVBox - - "Cat Cut Claps"
4
Dispo 5000 - - "Klingenberg"
As we love our music multifaceted, we love our artwork colorful. So, after PINK, RED, ORANGE and BLUE, we'll give you GREEN, the fifth out of seven records that we release in celebration of our 50th catalogue number. Again, the captivating artwork is the brainchild of Leipzig's graphic duo Doppeldenk. And don't get misled: there are no greenhorns amongst the artists assembled on this EP. You know that moment when you dance in the club, self-forgotten, the everyday life has no meaning and only those dancers next to you count. Iron Curtis' AGAINST MY WINDOW (DAZED MIX) is a pretty perfect soundtrack for this scene. The dreamy pads are an invitation to stop thinking and just enjoy the moment. At the same time, the elegant House affair has enough drum pressure for long lasting dancing extravaganzas. Leipzig's Perm is coming up with the straightforward and pumping Electro bliss called VLIW, a track that is perfectly balanced in its urgent desire for Metropolis but also heartbreaking moments. On the flipside there's the first signal from Uncanny Valley regular CVBox after almost three years without any transmission. In advance to his forthcoming EP he is back in typical fashion, delivering CAT CUT CLAPS, a mean Dub-Acid-monster that wraps you up with inimitable sci-fi narratives coming straight up from his machinery. Finally, we got the first track from Dispo 5000, the new project from our beloved Jacob Stoy, together with his longtime buddy and creative partner Felix Meyer. Their KLINGENBERG is a great jam that mixes up the tender side of House with a Kraut and Cosmic approach.

After PINK and RED comes ORANGE. It's the third out of seven records for the celebrations of the 50th Uncanny Valley release. And it's tailor-made for pure dance floor delight. Sweden's Jor-El aka Joel Alter spells out house music on HUMAN MATRIX with great effect. You can't resist being dragged along by a track that is well composed down to the last tiny little detail, but always comes across light and easy. Synth stabs for the masses. Uncanny Valley-Newcomer Karima F from Oslo delivers FLACCID HOUSE, a track that feels like the perfect way to make ravers resurrect. The track is based on few, but effectively used ingredients like a hammering broken beat and those odd vocal bits. Thus, it gets to the point without detours. Being a scene-legend himself, Toronto's Basic Soul Unit contributes GROTTO BOUNCE, a raw but precise nod to classic Detroit and Acid tunes. Finally, former Hamburger and now Berliner Christopher Rau is in full play mode and turns on all the equipment in the studio for PARADIJS, a wonky house track that gives you goose bumps even though he may be throwing you out of step.

The Dresden label Uncanny Valley celebrates its catalogue number 50 with a compilation series that stretches over several records. That's also a return to the beginnings of the label, which started in 2010 with four compilation records. The first record of the series is already a foretaste of an upcoming summer. With FANTA KORN TANKER Hessen's Golden Boy Lauer stomps through the club, while letting the magic speak through keys. SUMMER INTERLUDE by James Booth is playing out on an entire range of feelings, banging hard and showing off the European producer's Pop music sensibilities as well. On side b we have the two Dresden based producers Sandrow M and Will Dubner with their fun and funky bass line monster DISCO SCHLAMBONI. While Sandrow M is already established on the label with two solo EPs under his belt, it's the first outing from not-so-new-comer Will Dubner. Another new face is Berlin's Jules Etienne who contributes DUDE'S DEN, a first class Disco affair, complete with beguiling vocals and arousing percussions.

After his outing at the beginning of 2018, Amrint Keen (an alias of Lake People reserved for his rawer, broken and more experimental productions) is following up on Uncanny Valley with a new EP. And boy, nobody else does dance tracks so unpretentious, but still demanding. Oscillating between house and electro rhythms, the tracks once again show his midas touch of combining subtlety and fun on the dance floor. A track like TRANSIENT LOSS OF RESPONSE explores the corners of urban landscapes and finds melancholy, but also a pumping urgency for the club. MAYBE IT WON'T BE comes with a pretty funny but throughout stable track architecture consisting of many different toy blocks disguised as sounds. DOOZY OF A DAY is indeed a doozy of a track that maybe just fell in love considering the infatuated synths. And also CREPUSCULAR can't hide its romantic qualities after an abrupt start with impetuous drumming. As with the first Amrint Keen record, the artwork comes from Murat Oenen, a painter born in Istanbul and now a graduate at the Dresden Academy of Fine Arts.

From the heart of Macedonia comes Herzel with his first EP for Uncanny Valley. The four tracks point him out as an expert for creating tracks on the blurred line between Rave and darkness. If you are listening on a proper sound system, it is almost impossible not to be moved by the mighty drones of FORMS that almost feel like tectonic shifts. GLIDE runs in similar veines and brings power to the dance floor with rolling bass synths and sublime pads. A little more straightforward is GLOWWORMS with sharp drums and an acidic synth theme only to finally merge into an elegiac climax. Finally, TWO

For the first time Iron Curtis enters the ring over the full EP length for Uncanny Valley. There hasn't been much of a discussion whether or not this is something for Uncanny Valley when Iron Curtis approached the four label heads with this new pile of dance floor material. These tunes are too good. Iron Curtis must have been particularly inspired by the muse while producing these four outstanding House tracks. You'll feel a comprehensive knowledge about Dance music's history when listening. No doubt, the Franconian who is now based in Berlin has spent a good time of analysing House music's techniques. "Sweet Romancer" is the best example for his studio eloquence. Modulated synths, a classic bass line and a whole batch of drum ideas are combined into a wonderful track. The interplay between subtlety and vitality characterizes "Nixdorf Danse". Plus, you won't forget those strings. On "Triroom" he proves that he has a knack for melodies as well. Finally, "Take Me Home" should provide a lot of emotional moments on the dance floor with its dramatic piano and crescendo-like synth line.

Do yourself a favour and dance across the floor when listening to the new Jacob Korn-record, aptly titled Son Of GX. The music is heavily based on the good old Yamaha Electone Organ. The home organ for the world's gentlemen was modified by Jacob himself and is now an integral part of his studio. As you'll hear it on the EP, it injects a decent dose of fun into Jacob's vision of House music. At least, you will instantly notice that when listening to Singlefinger Chord, a track that conquers the floor with its Disco elements. Rumours say that Jacob's cat toddled on his poor man's Yamaha CS80 when producing Cats On Organs. If that's true, the cat provided an irresistible hook to an already slamming, Italo-inspired track. Son Of GX is every bit as compelling as the first two tracks with its synth trumpet glory while the slighty darker Fun Blocks sustains us with heavy percussion works straight out of the Yamaha Electone Organ. On top, you'll get a remix for Singlefinger Chord by New York's Jacques Renault (Let's Play House) as digital bonus.

Credit 00 delivers his debut album "Game Over". After four EPs for Uncanny Valley the Leipzig based musician is now ready to let loose his electronic visions on full length. As everybody can confirm who saw him playing live or DJing, the head behind Uncanny Valley's sub label Rat Life is a slave to the rhythm on a full-time basis. Obsessed with sound, he can't stop pushing the buttons of his synthesizers and drum machines like someone torturing the controls of an Arcade machine. "Game Over" is an electronic love letter to the romantic fantasy worlds of classic video games and their bleepy and clonky sounds which used to be common also in repetitive electronic dance music. Collecting tracks from the last six years, "Game Over" is also a passion project that channels all his influences. You can get a glimpse of the ingredients that make up his record collection. Whether it is Hip Hop,Techno, Electro Boogie, New Beat, Italo, Jungle, Reggae, House or Chill Out. Though, all those different sounds and styles do not tear this album apart. It's a bit of a miracle that it feels so flawless for what happens between the appetizing "Level One" and the final track "The Last March". Those beats on "Game Over" can be brutally effective like the fatalities in Mortal Kombat while the overlying sounds can be smooth like the lemmings' animations in the eponymous Amiga game. Just listen to the title track. Or the instant hip shaker "Breakers Revenge" that comes with a little help from friends like Sara Stammburg on vocals and Max Rademann on Rhodes. Without losing sight on the dance floor Credit 00 creates an electronic wonderland that delights dancers and connoisseurs at the same time. To top things off the wonderful artwork was created by Alexander Dorn a.k.a. Credit 00 himself. The double 12" comes with an arcade video game inspired sticker designed by Credit 00 himself.

If you're familiar with CVbox' music you know that he isn't the guy for your average Techno track. Formalistic song structures aren't his thing. When you'll start to listen to a new CVBox track you'll don't know how it will end. His music derives from his deep love for analogue gear and a pretty unique way to deal with it. On his first album "So ist es im Nadelwald" CVBox rides between the corner points of Techno, Electro and Ambient. The music is infused by an omnipresent darkness that isn't just there as an end in itself but will definitely give the thrills to listener and dancers. Some of the tracks develop a rarely heard urgency on the dance floor with those dub-influenced swirls or ever-present synth tides while simultaneously preserving a rather intimate atmosphere. Sometimes it's just an unfamiliar sound that makes the difference that simply comes out of nowhere. One thing is for certain: CVBox is all about atmosphere. As you can see by the album's artwork and title ("Nadelwald" is German for softwood forest) The album is also inspired by his passion to go into nature. When he is sick of the whirlwind that is his current hometown Leipzig he disappears into Saxony's hinterland for collecting mushrooms or just letting the thoughts flow. The double 12" comes in a beautiful package designed by Jacob Stoy with hand numbered and printed outer sleeve and two printed innersleeves on strong cardboard.

After opening up his heart with his wonderful solo debut album last spring, it was about time that Joel Alter's ''Heart'' gets a proper remix treatment. None other than fellow Swedish countryman Jesper Dahlbaeck adds some spice to the intimate affair that is ''22 Hours'' under his ''The Persuader'' moniker. His take is a spooky yet compelling peak time bomb. Dorisburg transforms ''Everlasting'' into a funky and Acid-driven ride that is hard to resist. On top, you'll get Joel Alter's ''Mecca'' which turned out to be the biggest dance floor killer on the album.
The wonderful artwork was created by Joakim Heidvall.

Believe it or not but Uncanny Valley looks back on five years of releasing records this summer. There was a bit of discussion on how to celebrate this occasion properly. Instead of just turning into the typical Greatest hits-routine the label heads Albrecht, Carl, Conrad and Philipp decided to look back and forth. So, besides a record with completely new material there will be a record that unleashes four tracks from the vaults of these five years.

Here are some plain and simple cuts by yours truly Credit 00 that push just the right buttons to make people move. The tracks were made exclusively for his live set but they are too good to keep them back. Without superfluous frills these four bangers scream "Party" in every note but as usual with Credit 00 there's also a melancholic side somewhere behind those tricky beats. House is a feeling!

Recorded in spring 2014, "Heart" is the debut solo album by Gothenburg-born Joel Alter. During the process, he focused on finding the artist within himself and accepting the outcome as the value of his own footprint. But also for Uncanny Valley, releasing an album by an artist of whom we never released music before as singles or on compilations marks new ground. But since we know Joel for some time and are great admirers of his two albums he released together with Henrik Jonsson as Jonsson/Alter on Kontra-Musik this step felt very natural.

After "Trawler Crossing" in 2013, CVBox teams up with long time companion and musical soul mate Micha Freier for his next record. "Transparency" is CVBox through and through with long meandering bass lines and spacey synth climaxes. Techno jams that you can dance to with closed eyes. The first track "Blinking Lights" rides on a warm bass line, which is accompanied by perky synth swirls before a subtle but ultra effective snare comes in halfway through. "Bad Gate Way" is less straightforward but with its stuttering beats and spooky pads it recalls a time when Techno was all about trying out new things and creating ambiances that you can literally dive into. "Playwatch" comes with delay-driven synths and grasping rhythms and builds up to a majestic Techno track that is heavy on the dance floor. Finally, "XOXO" lurks around at first before it gets you with irresistible pads that bring things to a peaceful end. This is mach ine music with soul. The cover artwork was created by photographer Felix Adler from Leipzig.

After the extensive "Uncanny Valley 20" compilation we go back to our classic 4- track-format for "Uncanny Valley 025". Taking the chance to introduce 3 new artists to our roster, we warmly welcome Lake People, Philipp Triebel and RJ (who is also one half of Duererstuben) to add their distinctive flavour to this record. Lake People doesn't need an introduction anymore as his smart and emotional productions are making rounds from Ibiza to your basement club around the corner. His "Unexpected End Of Archive" is another example for his knack to produce tracks that evokes an emotional maelstrom on the dance floor. Beautiful synth melodies are meandering throughout the tune while the slick drum arrangement provides just enough tension to keep your feet on the floor. Philipp Triebel caught our ear with his live set when we played together at a party in his hometown Giessen. After handing in demos for some time he now contributes "Unity" to t his compilation. Clocking in at just 4 and a half minutes it gets us moving with tight chords, tricky drums and a short but prominent synth melody that will be heavy on the dance floor. The B-side features two tracks by RJ who will also be a member of RBMA 2015 in Tokyo. "Leo" is an excellent piece of slowly rising House music that pushes the right buttons at just the right time. With melancholic robots on vocals duties and dreamy synth pads this track literally tells a story. Closing the record is "Nie" which rises the pace and takes a similar path like its predecessor with moony synths and a very catchy melody. As always with the Various Artists EPs on Uncanny Valley, the artwork is by courtesy of illustrator Paul Waak, this time with a fresh new approach.

Uncanny Valley and Permanent Vacation are joining forces for an Uncanny Vacation! There has always been a lively exchange between Dresden and Munich and both labels are known for releasing a wide variety of music so it was only natural to team up for a joint release. The record starts off with Permanent Vacation-regular and UK-veteran DMX Krew and his "Astro Logical" which is as sharp and crisp as Electro can go. The bass line strikes hard but he also squeezes some great melancholic synth lines out of his machines. After that, Uncanny Valley's Sandrow M finally gives access to the much in demand live version of "Prayervan", a tune that everybody has been singing along during his live sets. On the flipside, Jacob Korn (who already released on both labels) hands in "Eieiei" which rises on a percussion-heavy drum basement to a discoid House stomper thanks to an irresistible sample straight from an obscure flea market find. Last but not least, Drvg Cvltvre from the Netherlands delivers a tropical House jam. "See You Again" is riding on a funky Disco bass line and creates a warm and cosy atmosphere with a whole bag of sound ideas. Alexander Dorn aka Credit 00 adds his graphical talents to the record's sleeve with a brilliant tribute to 1990s adventure video games.

Cuthead got known to the wider public via his releases on Uncanny Valley but his roots reach way back before the label's start. There was a time when Cuthead and his brothers from another mother threw wild parties at abandoned industrial locations or in the woods around Dresden. The crew, which was known as Kunst:stoff Breakz, also established a label where Cuthead released two albums and one EP as free downloads between 2006 and 2010. Over the years the calls for vinyl versions of those early joints were getting louder and so Uncanny Valley decided to give the best tracks from that era a new life on physical sound carriers and start the "Total Sellout". Through refinement and rearrangement 51 tracks were boiled down to a selection of 18 and ended up as an album full of catchy bass lines, heavy beats and sampling excesses. Among the tracks are party starters like the strings-infiltrated "Scissorhands", "The Poncho" or the ever devastating " Iron Lung" which still kicks like Dubstep has never faded. Since Cuthead has always been heavily influenced by Rap music, there are of course lots of great Hip Hop beats on "Total Sellout". Either in the form of funky sample studies like "Painquilizer" and "VibraSkit" or in true fashion with Raps by crew member Alibi on "Hidden Track". Also included on the album are "Rock My Soul" and "All Night Long", some early examples of Cuthead's knack for well tempered and super catchy House tracks, while the double-bass driven "Rythmus '78" shows another jazzy side of him. Once again, the artwork was conceived and designed by Till Hohmann who already did a brilliant job on last year's "Everlasting Sunday".

"Teilstueck" (German for part or segment) is the next excerpt of Jacob Stoy's ongoing attempt to translate his surroundings into music. It's his second EP for Uncanny Valley and is even more multifaceted than his debut "Redenswart" from 2012. With "OMG" you'll get the feeling that something sublime will happen right from the beginning. It's one of those tracks whereby time stands still until a mighty synth-line unfolds in all its glory. "CFM" comes in the same musical vein with a similar and slightly melancholic bass-synth dominating the drumming. By far more cheerful is "MKM". Based on a catchy bass line foundation, Jacob Stoy showcases wonderful synth-effects and sound with the beautifully oscillated pad making the cut. This is House music for machine lovers. The flipside starts with "HIM" and probably the most floor-friendly track on the record. The slowly but steadily rising organ chords prepare thin gs and when the carefully targeted percussion elements come in, it feels like summer will never end. In contrast, "QFL" lives from its mysterious atmosphere and is very good example for Jacob Stoy's preference to use Electronica-like sounds for his House Music. The record is rounded up with "HHM" and a little nod towards past times when he used to play in a Jazz band. With its Delay effects, a fuzzy guitar and a great bass melody it's not far away from Krautrock either. For the artwork Jacob Stoy teams up with fellow student Chris Dietzel.

Jacob Korn is back! After Uncanny Valley released his acclaimed debut album in 2012, he has been busy playing live, remixing, extending his studio and of course producing loads of new music. The first results arrive as EP1 just in time for summer followed up by EP2 later this year. Jacob has always had a knack for producing distinctive House tracks that cause a stir on the dance floor. With EP1 he proves that he hasn't lost any of his skills. On "Eisladen" he works a killer Highlife guitar sample and a synth-heavy break into a track that will put a lot of hands in the air this summer. "Arzt im Praktikum" starts with powerful cowbell-driven drumming and as soon as the devastating rave chords drop, the dance floor is turned upside down without a warning. On the flipside we start with the graceful "Fahrt durch Tal" featuring Phillip Oertel who contributes a funky bass guitar melody. With his Midas touch, Jacob unites Philipp's bass work with so ulful vocals and spaced out strings and comes up with a contemporary Space Disco track of a special kind. Finally, we'll get "Kokosnuss" which once again unveils Jacob's love for cheerful hooks. With the acidic synths and the stomping drums the track almost has an old school feel to it. The cover artwork comes courtesy of Anna Jaszpataki from Dresden.

After celebrating the 20th catalogue number with an extensive compilation, Uncanny Valley continues with serious business in the form of Break SL's long awaited new EP. On "Atlantic Ocean Road" the Uncanny Valley regular returns in top form and with 4 tracks that come across like an acoustic showroom of everything that makes Break SL's timeless House music so special. The title track is a perfect example of his sophisticated drumming combined with catchy and dreamy synth work. As the name implies, "Atlantic Ocean Road" feels like the soundtrack to one's favourite road trip memories. "FM 4 Life" gets alive with jazzy beats, clever sampling and driving yet muddled bass lines. "Trocadero" is based on a field recording which Break SL brought home from Paris. Here again, Break SL masterfully combines slightly melancholic vibes with funky rhythmic elements. The record is finished in style with one of those tunes that dancers won't get out of their head even on their way home from the club. On "Malstrom", cheerful synths play beautiful melodies over a dark and groovy bass and the jacking drumming is full of ideas that are subtle but essential. The cover artwork comes courtesy of David Rost from Dresden. With his tape rendering concept he produced a visual analogy to Break SL's music and the EP's title. Stay tuned for a video that will document the creation process.

t's time to celebrate! At catalogue number 20 Uncanny Valley extends its compilation-concept to 12 tracks spread over three records (or as a bundle if you prefer digital). With new music by label-regulars like Jacob Korn, Cuthead and Credit 00, friends like RVDS & K'Alexi or Filburt and fresh talents like Goetterkreis & Steve Kasper it is an exciting ride along the winding roads through the Uncanny Valley. The three records are visually linked with distinctive artwork by the ever-reliable Paul Waak. Part 1 starts off in style with ''Art Of The Track'' by RVDS & K'Alexi Shelby. On their debut track for Uncanny Valley the Hamburg-Chicago duo created a classic tribute to the drum that evolves into a BIG track with a killer acid line and floating synths. After that, Credit 00 shows off his newfound love for catchy sample choice once again. ''Obsessed'' is a killer track that also persuades with its catchy bass line. Sneaker delivers a bouncy remix for ''Funct ion'' by Dresden's Optokoppler. With extra vocals by himself and Ewa Smyk they play with sexual stereotyping in a fun and very danceable way. ''2x4'' by CV30X instead is dubby chords and spooky sounds with an easygoing vibe that extends CVBox' much beloved sonic palette. Free download included.

Merry Christmas from the Uncanny Valley! Our new record is dedicated to the land of Christmas, the Erzgebirge (a mountain chain in the state of Saxony in Germany) and its renowned folk poet Anton Guenther. Lovingly packed, with a beautiful etching of a "Schwibbogen" (a traditional Christmas candle arch from the Erzgebirge) on the B-side and with unique liner notes by the one and only Max Rademann it's the perfect Christmas gift for electronic music lovers and their audiophile moms and dads. "Haisel Stieht" originates from a moody jam session by a bunch of friends and is based on a classic folk song from 1905, namely "Wu de Waelder haamlich rauschen" by Anton Guenther. Break SL contributes his distinctive House-drumming while Jens Rosemann comes up with some catchy guitar licks. The song really takes off when the native "Erzgebirgler" Max Rademann starts to croon like he never crooned before and plays his beloved organ li ke a you ng god. On top, Tiny and Silke Brandes are rapping and having a laugh in the background. "Zauberhafte Fantasie" is just Break SL in all his glory. The track's catchy jazz sampling and almost symphonic synths accomplish a truly uncanny Christmas record.

On Uncanny Valley's catalogue number 18 we finally welcome back Credit 00 who is a man in charge of a decent collection of those dusty machines we all love. After the ice cold "The Living Room Life EP" from 2012, his brand new record "Ice Cream" is easy to fall in love with. Packed with tunes to suit various moods in life, it will be a faithful companion in dark basements or lonesome hours. "Ice Cream" starts deliciously with its sleazy sample choice. With the distinctive drum work it builds up to a true Chicago-inspired dance floor banger. "Round n Round" hits hard with a harsh kick and cowbell action before it shows off slightly melancholic lead synths and a subtle but effective bass line and puts the emphasis on the fact that things go round and round. Life's a dizzy affair. "East Of Nowhere" with THAT bass line-sound is Credit 00 to the core. And with spooky synths he puts you to an east of nowhere-place where y ou will lose yourself in manic trance-like dancing. The record ends with "Red Wine", a slightly different electronic love song sung by Credit 00. The cover artwork was created by Alexander Dorn.

One year after the first excursion into his haunting world of sonic spaces on the Analog Amputations EP, machine wizard CVBox strikes back on Uncanny Valley with the follow up "Trawler Crossing". And from start to finish this EP is a journey between Techno and Ambient full of unheard noises and grasping rhythms. In the title track the beat rides on spooky pads that flow down like lava from a volcano. The more the whipping drums come into play, the more captivating the atmosphere evolves. "Echo Place (Canyon Version)" is CVBox in pure beauty. Starting with quirky synth-sounds that seem to talk to the listener, a dubby bass driven groove takes over to unfold an adventurous Techno track in all its glory. On the flipside "Leo on LFO (Accordion Partition)" takes its time to build up into an epic Electro track that is distinguished by the acidic synth-bass and outshining strings. The collaboration with his musical soul mate Micha Frei er marks the end point of the EP. "Remind 20 : 3" is a dreamy slow burner that seductively puts its arms around you after all. The cover artwork was created by photographer Felix Adler from Leipzig.

Sneaker's first solo EP for Uncanny Valley is a record of high humidity. The Java / Sumatra EP evolved in large parts in Indonesia when Sneaker lived there for almost a year and it literally conveys the Indonesian heat to dance floors in the rest of the world. Compared to his Acid House-inspired "You Think You Think" which was featured on the Uncanny Valley 004 compilation, this four new tracks show another, rather dark, Pop and New Wave side of Sneaker. The "Java Island" side starts with "White Glow" where a serious percussion workout is blended together with the sharp electric guitar by Indonesian guitarist Al Goz. Backed up by Sneaker's typical drum work, Slovakian singer Helena and Sneaker himself are dreaming of that mystical light. In "Misty Mirror", it seems like Sneaker is speaking to his reflection in the mirror and trying to figure out what he is seeing there. The track is as relentless as it is bittersweet wit h its st umbling dark bass synth and the bell-like melody before the pads bring things to an almost orchestral end. "Sumatra Rain" again features Al Goz, this time on the Bamboo Flute, Guitar and with a poem in West-Sumatran Minang Language. The track can be read as a meditation on the fact that if it rains in Indonesia, it pours. At the same time it is an irresistible dance floor killer that sometimes feels like "I Feel Love" for modern clubs with its ongoing octave bass and an uncompromising kick drum. Eventually, "Run To You" stands in the tradition of love song duets like "Je T'aime...Moi Non Plus". You simply cannot forget this catchy synth melody. This is pop music for people that like Italo Disco and Chicago House and rounds up the EP in a charming way. The artwork is by courtesy of Uncanny Valley regular Robert Arnold aka Cuthead.

Another (more or less) round catalogue number, another Various Artists EP on Uncanny Valley: This time it's a full package with four true club bangers (at least to our ears...). On the A-side we have the heart warming label debut of the Polish producer Eltron John. He contributes his remix for "Varsovie" (French for Warsaw) by Brodka who is a decent Pop star in Poland. The remix came into being when Eltron John took part in a Red Bull Music Academy event in Warsaw. Brodka was collaborating with Red Bull on a series of open air shows at that time. So, one thing led to another and the result is an irresistible catchy tune that also features Eltron John's very own voice over Brodka's vocal line. Another addictive track is Sandrow M's remix for "Falling Off" by Alex Ketzer from Cologne. Alex Ketzer approached Uncanny Valley for his book project about his favourite labels. While doing this, he sent a copy of his "Falling Off"-EP on goo d old ca ssette format. Sandrow couldn't resist and created a wonderful remix that still keeps to the atmosphere of the original but makes things a little bit more danceable with its punchy drumming in typical Sandrow M-style. On the flipside there is Cuthead's overdue return to the label. The whipping acid line and synth chords along with the rough drumming turn "Splenda Daddy" into a real floor bomb. Don't forget to do things wrong from time to time. Finally Jacob Stoy's "Inspektor" rides on a pulsating bass and those sweet bells until great strings bring things to a peaceful end. As always with the Various Artists EPs on Uncanny Valley, the artwork is by courtesy of illustrator Paul Waak.

Who's next, please? It's Sandrow M who was introduced with "The Three Trees" on UV010. Finally, he arrives with his solo debut for the Dresden based label and it ended up being a hell of a record full of diversity. Everything starts with the edgy beats of "Prayervan" that are quickly flattered by one of those catchy melodies typical for Sandrow's synths play. This is great Pop music, even more when Sandrow M starts to sing. "Facerunner" however, is a club tune with its ever rising beats that are accompanied by a superb synth pad. The flipside starts with the catchy anthem "Gonna Make". You cannot defend yourself against this sample that will stick in your head for a long time. And once again it's his synth work that makes the difference. Not to mention the funky solo. "Schnaubi" rounds things up in a more unpolished way with its stuttering drum work. But here again this is refined by those irresistible harm onies ou t of Sandrow M's keys.

Uncanny Valley introduces the next artist from the UV010 compilation with his solo debut. This time it's Scherbe and his 'Jardin Du Midi-EP'. And what he delivers is pure Deep House goodness. First of all, 'College Dropout' makes clear that a lashing snare can never be wrong. With that infectious xylophone loop and slightly devilish strings dropping out of college doesn't sound like the worst option. 'Arts Is Movin Butts' fulfils what the name suggests. Even though those butts have to move very skilfully while dancing to such a lurching rhythm. 'Jardin du Midi' is another perfect example that it sometimes just needs a catchy house beat and masterful sample work. Combining such a wonderful vocal snippet and those typical railway drums is Scherbe to the core. 'Endlezz Cinema' on the other hand is an absolute earwig. The bass line won't leave your head for quite a while. Lovely strings and folky background guitars help to keep the magic. The artwork is by cou rtesy of Uncanny Valley's very own Carl-Johannes Schulze aka Carl Suspect.

After all efforts were put into Jacob Korn's debut album during summer 2012 Uncanny Valley strikes back with namesake Jacob Stoy and his very first solo EP after his S51 for the UV010-compilation. Everything starts with Redensart, a sunny piece of music with a sneaky bassline and easy synth pads that come across like a warm rain shower: It's House in the end but feels like so much more. Hauswart is an impressive example of how one can create a whole atmosphere of sound within two minutes. It's short but feels so comfortable that you really like it to go on and on forever. Start is maybe the most conventional Deep House track on the EP and seduces with catchy synth chords and thrilling drums. Finally Gegenwart brings things to a jazzy end with tipsy synths and tripping percussions. The artwork comes from none other than Jacob's father Olaf Stoy, who is a painter, lyricist and porcelain designer still working in Jacob's hometown Rabenau near Dresden.

It might not be overstated to call 'You & Me', the debut album by Jacob Korn, long overdue. Ever since the Dresden resident decided to focus more on the House side of electronic music in 2007 he released music that is equally good as it is promising. With records out on labels like Running Back, Dolly and of course his home base Uncanny Valley he’s been fueling expectations for a long play record. Jacob has always been very much into producing together with his pals. So it was only natural that 'You & Me' turned out to be an album that summarizes a lot of the collaborations that happened over all the years. Whether it was with an artist who played in his hometown Dresden or with someone who showed him around the town he was performing his live set at, Jacob never missed the opportunity to get together inside a studio and just jam along. Those sessions not only resulted in a lot of friendships but also in a string of music that takes House music to all its edges. A track like the dark and dirty 'Heteronomous' with Uncanny Valley fellow Sneaker lines up alongside the bright and sunny anthem 'Punta Del Este' together with Belgium's San Soda. Artists like Christopher Rau or Mr Raoul K add their trademark sounds but there is always that specific approach of Jacob Korn that connects the tracks. But besides that conceptual background: 'You & Me' is an album, which is here to extend the listener's summer. The concept of collaboration is even expanded on the cover artwork. A team of seven graphic artists led by Johannes Timbernagel interpreted the same template of Jacob's face in their specific style. To bring them all together Johannes texturized a 3D-Model of Jacob's head with a collage of all the drawings.

Number Eleven on Uncanny Valley focuses on the soundscapes of CVBox who debuted on the fourth compilation, Uncanny Valley 4, in 2011. Releasing his first solo record, he's finally able to express his very specific idea of sound somewhere in between meditative Ambient and compelling Techno on the 'Analog Amputations EP'. 'Past the Eclipse' is shaped by echoing choirs at first and mutates then into a serious Detroit Funk killer for self forgotten Techno dancefloors. 'Counterflow' starts to roll with menacing drones but quickly surprises with its optimistic atmosphere and an irresistibly catchy synth flute. The flipside starts off forcefully with the oldschool Techno stomper 'Droid Swift 836'. After that 'Orience' floats in a sea of pads without losing the Funk of the CVBoxes. The cover artwork was created by visual artist Paul Barsch from Dresden.

After appearing with C-Beams recently, Break SL strikes back with a massive track called “Desert Flight” that has already been causing a stir amongst the Uncanny Valley crew for quite a while. Over the course of ten minutes the track unwinds as an analogue Slowhouse trip that is dominated by a gritty synth figure. With typical sophisticated Break SL drums, radio transmitted messages directly from the cockpit and a freaked out siren it’s a track that is not from this world. The flipside starts off in a more classical manner with the rumbling House of 'Amorphed limits'. The track is distinguished by rapturous synths and gets spiced up through additional drum work by Break SL’s partner in crime Manuel Sander. 'Beercase Song' originates from collaboration with Dresden’s universal genius Max Rademann. His quirky keys and Break SL’s drum workshop create a dirty piece of Funk which rounds up an eclectic EP by a versatile prod ucer. The cover artwork was created by visual artist and designer Julien Simshäuser who illustrates the trip that is 'Desert Flight'.

Uncanny Valley continues to introduce more artists from the valley with their own solo EP. With UV008 it’s Credit 00 who's put on the map. The Dresden resident delivers four ice cold Chicago inspired cuts, with hints of acid and electro, straight out of his machines which will make every synth aficionado's mouth water. “Another Me” is, by Credits standards, an almost intimate jam, which shows that House can be a decent funky affair. In “The Cave Problem” you’ll get an extensive bassline before synths that seem to come directly out of a hurdy-gurdy from hell add the right dose of gloom. The B-Side is started off with “The Living Room”, a hard rocking track that comes like an acoustic exploration of sophisticated sound and drum ideas. The final “Brio’s Theme” is a weird and slightly menacing sci-fi work that only needs a proper movie. And again a new cover artist, Credit's longtime buddy Geprg Hpfm ann.

It is a point of honour that Uncanny Valley contributes a release to the Record Store Day to support the record store-concept in general. After all Dresden's Fat Fenders was one of the spots in which the UV-posse was formed. The record is strictly limited (444 copies) and only available on and after the Record Store Day (5th of November). For this record Uncanny Valley goes back to the initial concept of the compilation EPs, which was primarily created to support Dresden?s talents. Nevertheless, the artists involved here are in no way newcomers. Rather they can be classified as electronic eremites who are up to every trick on their machines. Mayan Gold and Selfcontained remain anonymous for now, though they would have to tell a lot of stories considering their long lasting activities in Techno and Electro. But who needs identities, if you get miracles like Intergalactic Traveller, Mayan Gold?s soundtrack for the journey to Utopia, or Selfcontained?s whipping '#23''. Already known for his contribution to the third Uncanny Valley-Record should be One Day In Metropia, whose Avalanche is rocking hard and precisely in finest Electromanner. Echology on the other hand is a newcomer. In Peekaboo the heaven is full of great samples and field-recordings. There was a time when people would have called it Electro-Folk.

Dresden’s cult label Uncanny Valley returns with the charming catalogue number six. Following up Jacob Korn's first Artist EP for the label it’s C-Beams' turn now to continue the series of Artist EPs. Break SL’s and Sandrow M’s project can be referred to as a true label’s child. Musically, both artists got to know each other only when the label was founded. For “Strollin'” they lend the vocal talents by Tina Slotta who is associated with Uncanny Valley as well. The result is an irresistible House-jam. Easy vibrant beats are complemented by birds’ twittering, warm keys and Tina's carefree lyrics. Jackmate’s remix toughen things up and transfers the tracks with mighty Detroit- chords into a real monster for the dancefloor. The slightly murkier “Scrapyard” takes its strength out of the interaction between its vehement beats and the C-Beams- typical sound excursions. Finally, the instrumental of “Strollin'” rounds up the EP.

The Uncanny Valley-quartet is rounded up by the Ace of Spades. Before starting to release its first Artist-EPs, the compilation-series is rounded up for now with the roughest EP so far. Sneaker’s You Think You Think! takes no prisoners and comes with a dark bass line you can't really resist. The track is a musclebound monster and includes claps that are out of control and freaked out vocals by Sneaker himself. No less rough is cvbox' machinematch, even if its acid-thunderstorm builds up far more subtly. Finally, Pla¨tschern by Stefan Lohse takes us on a 100-BPM-journey straight into analogue wonderland...

Uncanny Valley returns after their amazing first 2 releases with the 3 of 4 compilation releases. After the 4rth they'll go into detail with the first artist-EPs, but on this third they showcase the full range of Dresden’s talents once again. A great versatile release again where the label shows their fascination for forwrad thinking challenging dance tracks without forgetting that its dancetracks... some references can be made to early british IDM, Detroit Techno or Chicago deep house...but somehow these guys have a pretty unique sound so comparing wouldnt do them justice. Recommended!
