Ellen Allien joins forces with Italian synth wave band Ash Code for a formidable collaborative project. Across three tracks they merge their creative energy to produce the fearsome EP - 'Dance and Kill’.
The three track EP represents a perfect marriage of two potent and distinctive sounds, with both acts firing on all cylinders. Across the EP eerie vocal clips, vigorous percussion, stomping bass, distorted vocals, and ominous instrumentation demonstrate the parallels between these sounds. Opening track ‘Dance and Kill’ embodies this melding of techno and cold wave elements. 'Shining On You' features Ellen's vocals and thunderous drum programming, for a sombre yet irresistibly danceable track. Finally ‘Everything Collapses’ unleashes vigorous percussion and a snarling low end, lifted by a chorus of supernatural voices.

Keith Carnal - A1. Ape Shit Crazy
2
Keith Carnal - B1. FreizeitAktivität
3
Keith Carnal - B2. WiederGutMachung
Keith Carnal returns to BPitch with a rousing three-track excursion into the visceral side of techno. Stocked with deadly drum arrangements, thumping kicks and imposing basslines, Keith’s armoury is well equipped to cause maximum impact on the dance floor. The title cut takes us straight into the depths of Carnal’s wild mind, with a bombastic cut that utilises a pitched down spoken word vocal. The storyteller takes us into a world of after party excess and ‘ape shit craziness’ as the beats pump relentlessly. It’s debauched, heavy and utterly alluring...
Next up is ‘FreizeitAktivita¨t’, firing on all cylinders with a snub nosed kick and slinky snares, that lead us into the main body of the track where a hypnotic melody plays out. The melody is emotive and evokes a feeling of solemnity, all the while those powerful drums fuel a rapid pace. Lastly, ‘WiederGutMachung’, a brooding cut where Carnal employs a stripped back arrangement to great ef- fect. The main riff has an unsettling feel, cultivating an anxious atmosphere complemented by the pounding beats.

‘‘I follow the golden stream…" sings Rosa Anschütz in the title track of her new album, in a cold, clear, determined voice. Underneath, golden interference buzzes and splashes at first, while cold light lies over the "thick water.“ Followed by powerful beats setting in as the trumpet fanfares of the chorus herald victory over the elements.
"Golden Stream" is second album of the 24-year-old artist, who lives in Vienna and Berlin - an amazing work. It can be danced to, but one can also listen to it as a conceptual album; it is as full of beats as it is full of thoughts. Rosa Anschütz plays piano, flute and trumpet, she worked a lot with modular synthesizers in the beginning of her career. Her musical awakening experience was the Atonal Festival in Berlin, later she also danced a lot at Berghain, and Berghain DJ Max Kobosil remixed her song "Rigid". Rosa Anschütz reinforces her enormously versatile vocals -ranging from a pleading breath to a cold New Wave speaking voice - with a relentlessly marching four-to-the-floor techno; but underneath it all, lay polyrhythmic deviations again and again. Clattering and trembling, deep basses digging into the ground, while shimmering veils of sound blow from above. Rosa Anschütz follows the traditions of Dark Wave and Postpunk, but carves deep notches of sound sculpture and romantic smoothness. "Goldener Strom" is a great pop album, full of melodies, aphorisms and beats that immediately catch your ear. At the same time, it is a manifesto of artistic sovereignty - precious and wise in our times of streamlined art. At the same time, it is a manifesto of artistic sovereignty - precious and wise in our times of streamlined art.

Matasism - No Title
A warm welcome to Italian-American producer Matasism, who debuts on BPitch with his four-track EP Can You Feel My Soul. Matasism launched his own label Ma¨ta¨sism in 2017, releasing exclusively via the platform until very recently. He lands on BPitch with an EP that channels the essence of freedom and liberty found in the rave. It’s a compelling EP that blends trance, techno and acid influences into a memory evoking collection of music.
The remake of ‘Can You Feel My Soul’ kicks things off, firing on all cylinders with a hypnotic riff and hea- vyweight kicks. More layers are added to increase the depth and energy, leading into a mesmerising break- down. Meanwhile, the following original mix has a grizzly bassline spliced with hard-hitting beats. On the flip ‘Age Of Fantasy’ opens up with a dramatic intro leading into a powerful, enchanting main riff. Vintage sounds with a contemporary flavour. Next up is ‘Space Invaders’, a high-octane cut that utilises a trance-esque oscillating low end to captivate the listener. Get ready for an explosion of energy after the bre- akdown, transcendent.

Lebanon Hanover - Livinng On The Edge ( Ellen Allien Remix)
2
Lebanon Hanover - Invite Me To Your Country ( Ellen Allien Remix)
Berlin techno luminary Ellen Allien turns her attention to the romantic darkwave duo Lebanon Hanover with this double pack of remixes. These cuts began life as personal edits for her own DJ sets in 2019, appearing in many shows since.
First she takes on ‘Living On The Edge’. Larissa’s vocals sit comfortably on top of the club-focused instrumental, which stays true to the original spirit of the song while reconfiguring it for the dancefloor. Ellen’s second remix is a techno reinterpretation of ‘Invite Me To Your Country’. Pulsating kick drums and an air of menace pervade throughout.

The BPitch family are pleased to announce the arrival of a new member of our team, as Berlin-based pro- ducer Amotik join us with his Daya EP. Amotik has been self-releasing his music for the past couple of years, dropping several EPs and his debut album. His minimalist, hypnotic take on techno is mesmerising and it caught the ear of BPitch boss Ellen Allien some time ago. It didn’t take long for a strong connection to be made between Amotik and the label, resulting in his first appearance with us. Daya contains four powerful cuts, with undulating low frequencies and nuanced composition designed to target mind, body and spirit...

Shlomi Aber has been a driving force in house and techno for almost a quarter of a century now. Having first stepped up to the decks at the young age of 14, he received classical music training and worked in a record store in his native Israel before eventually becoming one of the country’s most forward-thinking producers. With his debut EP »Lost In Humanity« on Ellen Allien’s BPitch Berlin, the Be As One founder presents his rawest material to date, energetic yet murky techno for basement raves drenched in sweat and chemicals.

Boston 168 return to BPitch Berlin with an EP that promises no less than a proper »909 Therapy« in three cathartic sessions. Their second release for Ellen Allien’s label sees the two Italians working with the legendary drum machine for a triptych that ranges from the raw to the melancholic and cosmic techno. Theirs is a hands-on approach to physical and psychological therapy, for sure.

Between quasi-acid anthems and complex minimal structures, Xavier again proves to be one of techno’s most reliable producers.

boston 168 - Cosmic Tribe
2
boston 168 - Drops In Heaven
3
boston 168 - Straight To Light
The shortest connection between the past and the future leads through the music of Boston 168. Drawing inspiration from both classic and contemporary approaches to the acid techno sound, early nineties rave culture and the throbbing pulse of the now, Sergio Pace and Vincenzo Ferramosca have carved out a niche for themselves which over the past four years has become a musical microcosm of its own. Having released a slew of records on such labels as Involve, Attic, Odd Even and Dustin Zahn’s Enemy, the Italian duo now presents its most cohesive musical statement thus far on Ellen Allien’s BPitch. On the three tracks of »Drops In Heaven«, Boston 168 seamlessly mold together lysergic acid lines with elements of nineties ambient techno and a rhythmic groundwork that is as thrilling as it is intricate.
»Cosmic Tribe« translates its idea of universal togetherness into a nerve-wrecking groove punctuated by complex percussion work and a subtly building acid line, while »Drops In Heaven« uses a booming kick drum as base for an emotionally driven exploration of sonic textures. The psychedelic »Straight to Light« nods to nineties pioneers like Emmanuel Top, showcasing Ferramosca and Pace’s talent for creating musical depth by ingeniously bringing together a few select elements to greater effect. These are tracks that relentlessly head towards the unknown final frontier of what techno can sound like in 2018, while not in the least neglecting the rich tradition that they draw from.

Berlin’s infamous Ellen Allien proudly delivers her 7th solo LP, the superlative ‘Nost’. Across nine seminal tracks, Ellen Allien demonstrates why she is widely regarded as one of the pioneers of Berlin’s techno scene. A visionary who has cultivated a sound which continues to evolve and mutate into new areas, moving smoothly between the classic analogue squelches of acid to anarchic splendour and mesmerising, celestial soundscapes. ‘Nost’ is the work of an artist who has found herself, yet still pushes herself to go beyond her comfort zone, still creating, still learning and still yearning for more. This is Ellen Allien, this is Berlin and this is "Nost’

The DJ, producer, label owner, jovial illustrator and graphic designer Alan Oldham, aka DJ T-1000, is regarded as an all-round genius and has long been one of techno's living legends. Living in Berlin these days, and a regular booking at the city's top clubs, he is making his first guest appearance on BPC with his brand new EP Ratchet Traxx. With Ratchet Traxx the Detroit icon Oldham steals the show once again, serving up four tracks of his quintessentially relentless "Bangin' Funky Ass Techno". Each track is literally a musical kick in the ass like nothing you’ve felt before. Minimal yet gigantic at the same time, brimming with energy. Booty Shaking Ghetto Gagging hits the bullseye: a straight-up 909 beat, coupled with a bassline and a vocal sample that burrows into your senses over almost six minutes - true as an arrow. She Loves Big Black Cock springs a surprise – no, not with its philosophical examination of gender roles - but with its quirkily constructed break. This master's genius likes to reveal itself in sublime details. We Need Our Weave sounds more stripped down by comparison. In fact, it unfolds without a real bassline or break. Meanwhile, Black Guys Really Love My Big Fat Ass, with its shuffling off-beat bass and one-tone hook, could almost be described as bombastic... In short, Ratchet Traxx has what it takes to become a classic and perfectly sums up everything we have come to expect from "Detroit Techno's Renaissance Man". Don't play this at home, kids...

Still a bit tipsy and really happy: that is how ELLEN ALLIEN reports back with "Turn Of Your Mind". The title already gives away that the DJ, producer and Label Boss is all about monotony casted in sounds, the mind has left the body and is only moved by the wind of bass and rhythm. "Hoo" and "Off" are the song titles, either fast and captivating, raw like unpolished steel. The tracks have been produced on the legendary Roland Aira TR-8, the Roland TB 303 and a Jupiter Synthie in ELLEN ALLIENs living room - a place that is perfect for profound musical time traveling and were finalized at the Studio later on. The journey goes back to the 1990ies in Berlin, a time where she was playing as a guest and resident in the legendary Clubs like E-Werk, Planet and Tresor letting the music absorb her into Techno and Acid spheres. Both tracks stretch into epic 8 minutes of thrilling techno magic, summoning the listener to one of those "Lost In Music" moments. This powerful EP is made for nights so filled with dancefloor euphoria that they prolong themselves into the next day without anyone noticing. Simultaneously with working on this EP the BPitch Control owner has installed a new regular club night finding a new home in a Berlin warehouse. Next to this she is touring all-around the globe sharing the driving energy of techno and acid with an international audience.

ELLEN ALLIEN put her particularly multifaceted side on display once again in mid-summer 2014: Her last EP "Freak" contained three tracks with three moving emotional states, each spreading uniquely positive vibes. Especially the track "Freak The Night" – with its warm bass, 303 acid dabs, Roland piano sounds and Ellen Allien sending out rave signals with her insistent vocals – turned out to be a hit. Now the Berlin artist has invited AUX 88, RADIO SLAVE and EJECA to remix the playfully creative track, alongside another track from the last EP, "Butterfly".

As far as musical collaborations in the underground electronic scene go, ARGY & MAMA definitely have the combined background to be labeled as a supergroup. Both members have quite a unique story, with far reaching credentials. ARGY seized the spotlight with the massive 2005 hit 'Love Dose', one of the songs that defined the whole minimal house trend of the time. After remixing acts like Kerri Chandler, Timo Mass and Agoria and releasing music on such respected dance labels as Caden- za, Cocoon, Versatile and Permanent Vacation (to name but a few), the prolific Producer/DJ became one of the most prominent figures helping to lead the latest house music revival with his album, Fundamentals. Although this first single focuses more on dancefloor orientated songs, Dominonation, the full length album highlights the duo's more elaborate song-writing abilities, fusing contemporary underground genres with radio friendly hooks, serving up tinges of gothic darkness with a smattering of gritty, lo-fi sensibilities. The full Dominonation album experience is planned for release later this Autumn, accompanied by a live band tour which will disclose a completely new approach on how to throw an emotionally fueled modern rave.

Since her first single "City Watch Over Me", Seattle-born and Berlin-based Camea is one of the most emerging artists on BPitch Control. After her dub/electronica contribution "Love On The Balcony" for last year's "Where The Wind Blows" compilation, the latest "Neverwhere EP" encourages her sense of space-filling grooves and perfectly shaped melodies. Now appearing with four remixes, all interpretations show and add new facets to "Neverwhere". At the beginning, the Berlin-based Deadbeat provides "Black Sparrow" with a few sinister soundscapes that wins in emerging from the background - despite the rudimentary acid hints. The straight rhythm sparked a dynamic aura that consists of both, shy chords and almost inter terrestrial sounds - a dub-infected fibrillation with minimal spleen. Camea herself shorten up the length of her own track "Neverwhere" without reducing the sex appeal of bass and groove. Her emotional DJ tool version let the love for melody-driven tech house remain - a jewel for the first rays of sunshine after a long night. Following some excellent releases on Hotflush Recordings, the Belgian Locked Groove not only loop Camea's voice for his version of "Moon Walk Away", but also let the 303 make some sweet-talking circles. The acid spirals only deceive the muscle play, while the strings add some reverent grace to this piece. Finally Lee Jones radiates a profound magic that emphasizes the benefits of "Dream Of You". While a corrugated iron bass line enters into a dialogue with the illustrious semi-bleep-driven accents, the naturalistic setting takes us into a deep house meditation that embodies one thing for sure: sunken comfort.

The Lady in Red regularly impresses with her DJ sets, combining relentless energy with a sinister atmosphere that veritably crackles with tension. DJ Red, officially known as Simona Calvini, is one of Italy's veteran DJ artists, and remains one of the most ambitious. Simona has held a residency at Rome's famous Goa Club, sharing its turntables with countless international legends of club music. The same goes for her sets at festivals and clubs all over Europe – DC10, Bar 25, Berghain to name just a few, and above all her sensational BPitch showcases. Now that same forceful sound of Simona's sets has finally been captured on a record. The first three tracks of her EP Eyes Are Blind are pure energy, authentic and uncompromising club music of the very highest level. Mega bass lines, monster kicks, sometimes four-to-the-floor, sometimes with a break, rasping hi-hats, outlandish sounds, pure tension. Hooks? No chance! Vocals perhaps? You've got to be kidding! Though the two bonus tracks find some middle ground. Here DJ Red delivers classic, straight-up minimal tech-house with wacky, playful electronica elements. An impressive release – don't play this at home, kids...

This second installation of "Vinyl Only Edits" features dynamic alternative versions of tracks by Skinnerbox, Kiki, Mr. Statik and Shinedoe! Kiki`s "Sinister 3" leads off as a formidable groover for never ending party nights. Featuring laid back piano, swishing sounds and tight beats. "The Alphabet" by Skinnerbox and Aérea Negrot follows in a slick "Raw Acid Edit". Hypnotizing with sounds from the TB-303 and in your face vocals. This one is certainly more like a trip than just a track. On the B-Side Mr Statik`s contribution to the release works true to the slogan "Bitchin Not Snitchin" and sends out pulsing signals into the strobe light. As fourth and final track on this collection, "Romantique" by Shinedoe together with Christine Wheeler dramatically closes this EP. This Rave Rework impresses with an excitingly fresh arrangement and a charismatic arc of suspens

Let?s celebrate the great return of Hip House. This haunting sound that fraternized House and Hip Hop at the end of the Eighties is still able to set dancefloors ablaze and trigger uncontrollable euphoria. For ?Work It Out,? the first single of their new album, Snuff Crew joined forces with pioneer and protagonist of the genre: Tyree Cooper. Snappy raps, fierce grooves, jarring sirens and wild scratching are the explosive ingredients of this tune. Cooper shows he is still in peak form decades after his worldwide hit, ?Turn Up The Bass.? Another guest joins the Crew on the second track of this single. The fantastic Bulgarian singer, Rachel Row lends her stunning voice to ?New Life.? A pure house vibe added to piano and strings that penetrate your heart. Goosebumps guaranteed!

Matthew Patterson Curry, aka Safety Scissors, has developed from curious musical roots. He took his first, wobbly yet adventurous steps from art school into the music world in 2000, exploring with experimental electronic and dance releases on an array of US and German labels. MPC's San Francisco electronic music peers Matmos, Kit Clayton and Kid 606 played a huge part in shaping his sound yet he eventually infused this with hints of pop sensibilities, an influence humans can't escape. A good decade later he can look back on two successful albums, festival appearances worldwide and numerous remixes, including those for Grizzly Bear, Matmos, Architecture In Helsinki, and members of the legendary Japanese electronic music pioneers, Yellow Magic Orchestra. In particular Safety Scissors' second album Tainted Lunch, released by Stefan Betke aka Pole, is regarded as a prime example of how experimental electronics and pop music can be successfully combined. His fresh, long-awaited work In A Manner Of Sleeping takes this approach to a new level. The twelve songs range from intricate indie-electronica, enriched with a playful chaos of noises, to poppy minimal house tracks with catchy hooks, to sensitive singer-songwriter sketches and ethereal atmospheres

Ellen Allien, - Need
In "The Kiss" and "Need", BPitch Control boss Ellen Allien has produced two precisely stripped-down driving house tracks that have been crying out for suitable remixes for some time – and here they are: the Miami-based DJ/Producer Jesse Perez has reworked "The Kiss", bestowing the straight-up beat with a healthy dose of Caribbean flair. The Germany-based Snuff Crew takes a noticeably less extrovert approach, but their credits speak for themselves: two albums on Gigolo, plus releases on Killekill and their own label Snuff Trax, founded in 2010. They have appeared as remixers for artists including Alex Vazquez and BPC's own Dance Disorder. Their trademark crunchy, old-school acid sound leaves a clear impression on their version of "The Kiss" and creates an intense, atmospheric after-party hit. The man with the red mask, Redshape, cuts an altogether more mysterious figure. Redshape's musical affinity with the best of Detroit techno is exhibited on his two superb albums on the Frankfurt label Running Back as well as his numerous tracks on Music Man, Delsin and Styrax Leaves. Yet his identity remained the subject of speculation for a long time. These days we can say with at least some certainty that Redshape is officially known as Sebastian Kramer and resides in Berlin. He sets the playful "Need" original on its way very gradually and carefully before bringing frenzied tribal drums into play and transforming the track into a kind of 'evil twin' of the original.

With Chaim, Kiki, Skinnerbox and We Love, the list of artists represented on "Vinyl Only Edits 1" reads like a who's who of BPitch tech-house all-stars. And that's not all - these four artists deliver new edits of their favourite tracks from the most recent digital singles: Chaim adds an extra layer of spookiness to his tech-house bomb "Ur Around Me". Skinnerbox' masterpiece "God Is Fading" sounds energy-laden and tricky in equal measure, and We Love's elegiac tech-house pearl "End Of Night" drives ahead with even greater urgency thanks to a stripped-down arrangement. The first few beats of "When Lou Met Vernon", the new offering from Kiki, leave no doubt as to his all-time favourite track, whose original title could quite easily be the motto for this superb 12": Groove Is In The Heart!

Kiki, - Through Darkness (Dark Dub) [feat. Shaun J. Wright
Hercules and Love Affair mastermind, Andy Butler, seems to surround himself with exceptional musicians from artistically ambitious dance floor circles with an almost instinctive sureness - a prime example of that here would be Aérea Negrot, who is just as convincing as Hercules and Love Affair's chanteuse as she is on her glorious album, "Arabxilla", released on BPitch Control. But the creative exchange works the other way round too: On his current EP, "Spending Time Together", BPitch veteran, Kiki, has put the microphone into the hands of none less than Hercules and Love Affair singer, Shaun J. Wright. The two of them seem made for each other - Shaun's soulful, laid-back vocals drape across Kiki's slender and powerful produced beats like a dark silk cloth. The title track is classic house perfection: dark, sexy and cool. Darkness is the key word for both of them, with tracks called "Through Darkness Bright Dub" and "Through Darkness Dark Dub" on the 12" vinyl.

Dillon, - Your Flesh Against Mine
The first remix EP from Dillon's acclaimed debut album "This Silence Kills" already proved to us just how unbelievably well Dillon's beautiful songs lend themselves to more dance-orientated interpretations. The remixes showcased on Dillon's "Your Flesh Against Mine" EP once again achieve what appears to be the virtually impossible: Six different producers incl. Denniz Kurtel, Lee Foss & MK, Creep and Life & Death combine Dillon's singer-songwriter compositions, all trembling with internal tension, and turn them into a whole that is as multi-facetted as it is homogenous, and which has some truly danceable tracks. "Your Flesh Against Mine" succeeds in masterfully reflecting a variety of different types of current electronic music that is as diverse as it is full of contrasts - both on and off the dance floor.

Ellen Allien, - Need
BPC lady Ellen Allien requests your company at the Allien Dance. Dark Electro meets House! The current 12" "Galactic Horse" was co-produced by her label-mates Skinnerbox expect the unexpected, you might say and you would be spot on. "Take Me Out" slams into your ears with a bone-dry, crunching oldschool-electrofunk beat. This is gradually sweetened over the course of the next seven-and-a-half minutes with catchy string hooks and atmospheric sounds. Whether in the club or on the couch, you'll find it impossible to resist the suspense that spans the track. On the flip side "Need" treats us to a pure house beat as classic as it gets. But you soon realize that this carefree party vibe isn't really taking itself seriously brass hooks and playful vocal samples quickly and firmly take root in your auditory canals, leading you to hear "Need" as a tongue-in-cheek parody of house music. An eight-minute happy-hormone treatment with no side effects!

Telefon Tel Aviv, - The Birds
Telefon Tel Aviv have mastered the art of balancing the bitter-sweet romance and occasionally excessive melancholy of so many 80s electro-pop pearls, dusting off their retro sleeves and presenting them in the form of lavish melodic epics. The new EP features the intoxicatingly beautiful album opener "The Birds" in its original version and in two remixes that could hardly be more contrasting: BPC label boss Ellen Allien spontaneously blows away the sombre fog clouds of the original with a crisp house beat and vibrant acid sequences. Ghostly International co-founder and self-confessed Brian Eno fan Matthew Dear has already revealed his distinct fondness for sinister soundscapes. His version of "The Birds" occupies ambiguous stylistic territory, combining amiable singer-songwriter elements with electronica of considerable atmospheric density.

Paul Kalkbrenner, - Torted

Paul Kalkbrenner, - Bengang
The restless trip through countless clubs, numerous airports and on-going party insanity continues as the second soundtrack rendering of Hannes Stöhr's premier drama film, Berlin Calling, takes on its awaited release. Paul Kalkenbrenner's masterstroke, "Berlin Calling Vol. 2," continues to accompany the protagonists from Stöhr's moving and somewhat tragic depiction while surfacing a humorous and well-spirited undertone. Although the tracks, "Bengang" and "Torted," lack their corresponding picture, they highly possess the authentic feverish atmosphere depicted in the film, plainly making them the blue prints to DJ Ickarus's jam-packed dance floor. Don't expect any fancy embellishment on this release. These two tracks flow nicely like a non-stop machine. "Bengang" transmits more of a classic house-element with subtle hints of percussion while "Torted" pulls the track's speed, making it anuncompromising energy-booster. "Berlin Calling Vol. 2" simultaneously offers a powerful and irresistible listening experience to soundtrack listeners, film observers and, of course, movie hero character, DJ Ickarus himself! Resistance is futile!

Like Sascha Funke Paul Kalkbrenner benefits from his temporary stay in the South-French Aixen- Provence. Both producers work there tirelessly in their studio and enjoy “la vie francaise” along the way. Paul’s new tracks are, as usual, first class techno burners. “Altes Kamuffel” starts off with a soft and trancy synth line, almost romantic, is infiltrated by a straight beat and then goes off like BUM.The bass hits your stomach, the clap drills crisply into your sinuses and the high, playful synth warms up your heart. THE track for the peak of a club night.

Time passes by so quickly ... but what the ... in case of Paul Kalkbrenner the ravages of time are actually pretty exciting. The tracks on “Keule” are not as snappish as in his younger raver years, but frizzle and sizzle and kick you right in the face. Paul Kalkbrenner isn’t an assembly line producer who releases new records all the time. He travels and plays a lot, meets people, meets styles, works on his stuff for months and then surprises us with a new sound, that still bears the typical Kalkbrenner characteristics.
