Slimcard sleeve * Sounds like a mix of Thom Yorke, Burial, Nils Frahm, all swirled together in a colorful yet creamy mix; * A blend of Emikas neoclassical descending melodies, signature breathy, female vocals, icey pianos, heavy sub-bass vibrations and layered Hazy beats. * Sat between her life in moving-boxes, wedged between them surrounding her upright piano in an unfurnished empty-sounding room in her in-laws house. Haze was made with voice-memo recordings of her piano and voice on her phone, edited and mixed on her laptop in headphones. Little loops in Ableton, lyrics, sadness and melodies, just like Emika’s real-life in boxes. * Emika is set to launch a new event series, inspired by her memories of early Dubstep in the legendary Black Swan venue in Bristol (now closed) she saw her friend Mala play, with one table-lamp, it was all about this new sound, and meditating on the bass-weight. * Hypnotic and seductive, Emika crafts Earthy Melodic Techno track 'Breath Cuts' using her breathy vocals, kick and devilish sub bass. * Pleasure and pain, the euphoria Emika knows how to create sonically in order for her to lose her mind through the music and escape reality, composed and produced during the darkest chapter in her life, she mixes in the inevitable pain of a once locked-down Berlin. * Breath Cuts is a journey-style dance track, for song-lovers or DJs that like to tell stories on their dance-floors. Emika reveals a poem in the middle of the song, a dream about being free again; 'I like to look out the window.. I like to imagine the clouds..' * Norman Nodge, Berghain resident by night and lawyer by day, pulls out and enhances the lush ethereal vocal elements, remixing them further into an angel-like chorus, one can imagine the dancefloor in Berghain - people rushing from the sound while spirits float above them looking down. * The two producers decided to provide listeners and DJs with a functional kick-less mix for advanced mixing pleasure.

Emika releases a remix EP of her 6th studio album 'Falling In Love With Sadness', (Originally released on World Mental Health Day Oct 2018) The remix EP explores 4 sound worlds in electronic music today. Experimental bass music, hypnotic & dark techno, and electro. About the remixers: Pinch, a pioneer of UK bass-driven music, is considered to be one of the most groundbreaking, explorative producers to emerge from the UK dubstep scene. Rising techno star Julia Govor is an artist doing things differently, paving her own way with her own label, receiving recognition from the global dance music scene. Rebekah needs no introduction, pioneering her own intense sound, now entering her 20th year in the business, she is a serious artist with some seriously heavy vibes. Underground Berlin talent Headless Horseman, all though shrouded in mystery, is in high demand world-wide to perform his unique live sets at some of the biggest clubs and festivals. Emika produced original album material with cult electro icon The Exaltics. Solid remixes from solid underground artists. Resplendent in its simplicity, 'Forever' is the sound of Emika boiled down to her steely essence. Gated vocal snippets and haunting synth arpeggios give a nod to early-'90s proto-trance, the arps filtering in and out of focus in tense fashion before unfolding into a dreamy melodic progression 'Never' treads similar ground but takes a more direct approach, the tension building consistently in layers as more arpeggiated synths gently modulate in hypnotic fashion Shimmering, icy sounds create a haunting, slow-burning atmosphere before the rhythm switches up for the latter half of the track, layers of gated white noise further punctuating the groove.
