Release Info:
With 'Trip to Sanity,' Berlin-based producer, DJ, live performer, and Stil vor Talent label head Oliver Koletzki presents a milestone in his 36-year long musical career and his 18-year tenure at the top of global electronic nightlife – his 10th studio album.
The album’s title, "Trip to Sanity’" – a reference to the classic German children’s story of the little dragon 'Tabaluga' – reflects Oliver's own path as a DJ within the world of club culture. But it also represents the appeal to an unbroken childlike curiosity as a producer, driven by the utopias of this parallel society. Naturally, Koletzki found his creative spark while performing on the stages of renowned festivals like Burning Man, Coachella, Garbicz, and Fusion, as well as in moments of peace and relaxation on meditative hikes and long beach walks in his second home of Cape Town.
In South Africa, Oliver wrote most of "Trip to Sanity" in the winter, then flashed out and finalised the tracks in his studio at Kreuzberg's Holzmarkt. Within the last 18 months a collection of complex and varied songs formed, which, typical for Oliver's collaborative approach, were often created in cooperation with musicians like techno-pop legend Fritz Kalkbrenner, Burning Man chance encounter Talmirage, scene friends Andhim, Hidden Empire, Oliver Klostermann and Niko Schwind, or the exceptional voices Natascha Polké, Malou, LOLY and Marlena Dae. The result is a rollercoaster ride through a diverse spectrum of dance music, effortlessly held together by Koletzki's unmistakable sound signature and his intrinsic sense for the exact tension between hedonistic dancefloor focus and poppy earworm impact. At the centre of it all shines a joie de vivre that runs like a thread through "Trip to Sanity": Playful, cheeky, imaginative, euphoric, a rainbow of genres and influences flow into each other, balanced by moments of reflection, melancholy or harshness.
The journey of discovery begins with the funky piano licks of "Oliver's Silly Jam," seamlessly followed by the disco groover "Get on the Bus." The radio single "Stay Until the Light" (feat. Niko Schwind & Talmirage) then combines pop vocals with deep emotions before Koletzki, alongside his superfriends Andhim, kicks it up a notch on the Afro-house masterclass "Branka." Next up, Fritz Kalkbrenner lends his unmistakable voice to the atmospheric anthem "Heart on Hold," paving the way for "Mind Games." Here, Natascha Polké's ethereal vocals glide over an almost haunting instrumental, heading towards the night.
At the album’s midpoint Koletzki breaks away from the expectations of the typical "techno blueprint" in a formal sense. Starting with the prophetically titled "My Last Attempt," a deep and muscular downtempo workout, Oliver creates a (further) homage to incredibly long nights with "Sonne Geht Auf" (feat. LOLY) and shows a completely different side of himself on the neon-infused dub track "Midnight Reggae." This segment of strong contrasts and a desire for reinvention is rounded off by the dreamy indie-dance atmosphere of "Is It Real" (feat. Malou), slowly leading us back to the club.
Because "The Pleasure of the Very First Time," "Candyflip," "Space Papi," "Elevation" (feat. Hidden Empire), and "Mantra for Bora" are clearly designed for the peak time, which is where Oliver predominantly finds himself during his sets. This part of the album is powerful, driving, and ecstatic – it captures the sweat of the dancefloor and the pulsation of the strobe light, making it tangible while listening.
Then, another shift is presented with "Chasing Holes" and "Hasenheide," two particularly rhythmic tracks characterised by hand drums and Balearic accents. Ultimately, Oliver concludes with the bittersweet closer "Don't Ever Wake Me Up" (feat. Marlena Dae). The title of this finale couldn't be more fitting, as it encapsulates what makes Oliver Koletzki's music so special at its core – it speaks to the subconscious, the senses, hits the heart, and leads it into the here and now.
For those who want to experience said state of mind even more intensely, there’s the opportunity this winter as part of the "Trip to Sanity" live concert tour in Germany. A long term dream of Oliver’s, who will present tracks from the new album paired with highlights from his extensive catalogue – naturally performed on an array of instruments in a proper live setup and as an audio-visual gesamtkunstwerk. For Oliver Koletzki, one milestone follows the other this year.

On 'Made of Wood', his ninth full-length album since 2007, Oliver Koletzki embodies the seasoned craftsman, carving out his deeply personal sonic sculptures with a confident, learned hand, while experimenting with a broad range of thrilling ideas and fresh textures. The result is an organically flowing, yet decisively shaped work of art, that naturally concludes a trilogy of albums Koletzki embarked on releasing with 'The Arc of Tension' and followed with 'Fire in the Jungle'.
Initially written in Tulum, Mexico, during the pre-pandemic winter of 2019, 'Made of Wood' is physically entwined with the primeval forests that continue to inspire its maker: In the subsequent year it took to complete the album in Berlin, Oliver, aided by numerous live musicians and vocalists, brought his sketches to life with a focus on wooden instruments like djembes, marimbas, santoors or duduks, sculpting a natural sound that's warm in timbre, rich in groove and literally made of wood.
Thanks to the imperfection of the human hand, the album sings with a bold vibrance that stretches from the LP's slow carnivalesque opener 'Caravana De Los Elefantitos' to the blue horns and Wennink's lamenting coos on the concluding ballad 'Turn'. Intermediately, Koletzki's rhythmic explorations take the shape of mythic odes ('Dear Mexican Jungle'), boisterous tribal dances ('La Veleta'), floor-focussed shakers ('Copal'), handpan-driven epics ('Cryptozoology' feat. Walter Scalzone) or subdued oriental belters ('Serpiente Del Ritmo' feat. ELIH) – emphasising his control over light and dark tonalities, over organic and synthetic sounds alike. Most strikingly, Oliver slowly breaks away from the album's natural feel in the mid-section, in which the disorienting, abstract stunner 'Picture' (with Niko Schwind & Judith Ahrends) rubs shoulders with the synth-crescendos of the bouncy 'Made of Cashmere', while the 14-minute long meditation 'A Starseed's Journey' makes for a powerful penultimate breather later on.
Next to the meticulous attention to instrumentation and his instinctive touch, these twists and turns underline that Koletzki feels entirely at ease on 'Made of Wood' – like the true artisan he is.

Release info:
Part homage, part prophecy: ‘Fire in the Jungle’ is the 8th studio album from Berlin-based DJ, producer and label owner Oliver Koletzki, released on 15 November 2019 by Stil vor Talent.
With sounds as diverse as the stamps collected in Koletzki’s passport over the past 18 months, ‘Fire in the Jungle’ is a statement in itself: complex, verdant, the product of years of growth.
From the arid desert tundra of Australia, to the lush turquoise beaches and sacred sites of Mexico, to the dusty Playa of Burning Man: these rich and varied landscapes, people, experiences have strongly influenced Koletzki in the production of this multifaceted masterpiece.
Musical maestro and storyteller Koletzki expertly weaves live instruments with a range of electronic music production techniques, with producers Sam Shure, Township Rebellion, Hidden Empire, Niko Schwind and Cioz taking listeners on an extraordinary aural peregrination of genres and styles.
Lyrical and vocal collaborations with Monolink, Aparde, Temple Haze and Lisa Who are layered with Koletzki’s signature sound, adding their unique influence to this distinctive 16-track album.
Running the gamut from full-power, bass-heavy dance floor anthems to slower, more sultry tracks, the dramaturgy of this album is matched only by the eclectic exotica and psychedelia of the jungle.
As the Amazonian jungle burns, this versatile and thought-provoking album raises important questions about what sustains us and asks us to reconsider the egoism and laziness of the human species.

While working on his next full-length album, the Berlin-based artist, DJ and label-owner Oliver Koletzki looks back onto an impressive career and a plethora of styles and moods, best exemplified by the diverse set of remixes he's been crafting for prolific friends and outstanding musicians for close to a decade. For 'Remix Tales', Oliver has now complied his personal favorites, with some previously unreleased, high-impact material forming the icing on the cake.
Stylistically, 'Remix Tales' exemplifies Oliver's chameleon-like approach in the studio, as dynamics shift from organic dreaminess to high-octane club-fare, all held together by the trademark musicality that shines through every single Koletzki production. While recent remix highlights such as Monolink's 'Swallow' or Giorgia Angiuli's 'Nothing to Lose' rub shoulders with classics like HVOB's 'Dogs' and Cassius' 'Toop Toop', it's the inclusion of Oliver's previously unreleased 2017 rework of Howling's 'We Stole The Night', as well as the freshly remixed Koletzki & Schwind track 'Camps Bay', that add unexpected and particularly precious twists and turns to this rollercoaster of an anthology. Enjoy the ride!

The Berlin-based techno and house producer and DJ Oliver Koletzki has fully committed himself to his roots for this album. They can be traced back to pop music of the 80ies and 90ies, while his productions still manage to transport the fresh energy of today's electronic music productions. "Großstadtmärchen" is a perfect example for a producer's album: Oliver Koletzki has created a musically compact long player while working together with many different singers. Both established artists like Mieze Katz from the German electro-pop outfit MIA., the hot German pop-rock-singer Axel Bosse, critically acclaimed indie band Kate Mosh as well as newcomers such as Fran, Pyur and Juli Holz have contributed to the album. The result are ten songs that easily fluctuate between catchy pop tracks, modern house grooves and 80ies synthesizer pop yet still maintaining a very own Koletzkieske sound dynamic.
"Großstadtmärchen", which translates as "The tale of the big city" starts off with "THIS IS LEISURE". Famous pop singer Mieze Katz has put down her sexy voice on a guitar-based song pattern that functions as an ideal introduction into the craziness of the big city tales. After hearing this, the listener is directly fully drawn into this world when hearing Juli Holz's softly whispering voice singing about the dilemmas of love in the big city on "ZUCKERWATTE" (Single release date: 7.9.09). This is a very fine electro-pop tune. Coming up next Oliver Koletzki and Axel Bosse board an underground train that takes them around the Berlin U-Bahn system and back. Axel Bosse, who has had a massive success with his song "3 Millionen" adds his melancholic voice to this groovy pop anthem and sings about the poetic magic of public transport, while we hear the sounds of the trains on top. Of course, Oliver Koletzki has added some purely instrumental tracks on his album, too: "KUSSKOMPATIBEL" and "WARSCHAUER STRASSE" are a journey back to Oliver's first years in Berlin and his love for house music. "KLEINES ZWISCHENSPIEL" also celebrates the energetic sound of electronic music. Then there is another great shine of bright light with the pop track "HYPNOTIZED" that is already making airwaves on German radio. It features the newcomer singer Fran that turns this track into a wonderful electronic love story. In her beautiful crystal clear voice Fran tells the story of those moments during the night that decide where it's going to end: a song about love, passion and the energy between male and female, a catchy pop anthem about the first dance, the first kiss and that special moment when the night turns into day. Oliver has equipped this song with a wonderful piano melody and a very smooth and poppy electronic beat. Actually it sounds like Fran and Oliver have never been doing anything else than produce wonderfully fresh pop songs together.
The tale of the city carries on with a very appealing mixture of indie rock and electronic music. "HEADSHAPED BOX" encapsulates what Indietronic sounds like in the year 2009: symphonic, melodic and simply unique. On "THESE HABITS" the just seventeen-year-old singer Pyur makes her debut. This down-beat triphop-groove is a wonderful hit for the late summer. Last up is a bonus track: Oliver Koletzki remixes "NIMM MICH MIT" by the electronic boy-band Die Raketen.
"Großstadtmärchen": This title is chosen for a reason. The story behind Oliver Koletzki is also a magical tale of believing in yourself. Since he is 12 years old, Oliver makes music, by himself or in bands: it is the love for the energy of soundwaves that makes him work hard on himself. In 2005 Oliver Koletzki celebrates the big breakthrough by releasing his hit "Mückenschwarm" on the label of techno grand daddy Sven Väth Cocoon Records. It becomes not only the biggest tune of the year, but also the best selling single on Cocoon Records ever. With this success in mind, Oliver directly realises his dream of starting his own label to promote newcomers. Stil vor Talent also becomes the platform for the release of his first album "Get Wasted" in 2007. One year later, Oliver proves his intuition for pop music when he signs the track "3 Tage Wach" by Lützenkirchen. He makes a low-budget-video for the track that gets an astronomically large half a million views on YouTube within the first three weeks. At least from here it is obvious: Oliver Koletzki is not your average techno producer. His productions and his sense for orginal music also have a deep rooting within pop culture. Thus "Großstadtmärchen" is the logical consequence from two decades of intense musical production: here comes a mature, yet still playful pop album that manages to combine many different influences into one harmonious oeuvre. It shows just how close the dancefloor and pop music really always were, and still are.

Info:
On his sixth album, The Arc of Tension, the Berlin based DJ, label owner and producer OLIVER KOLETZKI yet again presents his remarkable vision of contemporary electronic music, while he assumes the role of a storyteller. The Arc of Tension speaks to its listener as a singular, self contained work, which communicates by way of its natural flow and arc of suspense. The latter is mirrored not only in the multifarious narrative of the actual album, but can also be understood as evidence for its creator's long musical history.
While Koletzki focussed on a diverse range of vocal collaborations on his previous long players, he now moves on to a different form of storytelling, rooted in the quiet confidence of a veteran musician, as well as the hectic lifestyle of a globally in demand DJ. The Arc of Tension is the psychonautic journey through the various continents of Oliver's consciousness. The quiet chirps and warbles, which initially unfold on the opener 'A Tribe Called Kotori', thus act as a loose associative bridge to 'Der Mu?ckenschwarm', Oliver's big breakthrough hit of 2005. The first minutes of the album leave no room for doubt - we are immediately locked into an autobiographical world of sound that knows how to captivate from the get go. The dreamy, exotic timbres of the downbeat tracks 'By My Side', Tankwa Town' and 'Byron Bay' penetrate our minds in a subtle yet purposeful manner. But soon the tension tightens and organic sounds one by one evolve towards a sterner, electronic cadence. The bittersweet neon synths of 'Spiritual Not Religious' pave the way for the complex rhythm of 'A Star Called Akasha', an early highlight carried by melancholic cellos and contemplative piano chords. The ultimate turning point follows with 'Through the Darkness'. Here, at the album's centre, Koletzki starts continuously upping the tempo and leads the way with his very own, melodic interpretation of today's techno Zeitgeist, which he has been shaping since 2015's 'Iyéwaye'.
'Planetarium', 'They Can't Hold Me Back' and 'Chaturanga' exemplify, moreover, that a fusion of delicate musicality and sheer force leads to impressively ecstatic results. With its rough guitar chords and the acidic chitter of the TD303, 'Power to the People' rings in The Arc of Tension's ending, until we fully take off into space, weightlessly propelled by the ambient drones of 'The Day We Leave Earth'. Ultimately, what lingers is the feeling that we are being granted a deep glance into the innermost being of an outstanding artist.

Short info:
'Iyewaye', Oliver Koletzki's first release after the autobiographical I AM OK album, introduced a new facet of the artist's sound. The EP catered to a darker and more raw aesthetic, a direction followed and deepened by the four remixes. First up is the title track 'Iyewaye', turned into a lengthy tech infused introspection by Hatzler. Loosely centered around the initial vocals, Loco & Jam's makeover explores the track's captivating snappy narrative. The more rhythm focused 'Ipuza' gets a special treatment from Hidden Empire who dial up the aggression of the percussion. Zakari & Blange downplay the track's initial exotic elements, focusing on the rattling synths and giving it a late-night dancefloor rework.

Short info:
With 'Iyewaye', the first solo-EP after the release of his fifth album 'I am OK' last year, Oliver Koletzki shows himself in a new, but not altogether unfamiliar light: since his breakthrough in 2005 with 'Der Mückenschwarm' Koletzki hasn't sounded this hard.
Gone is the pop-angle, replaced by a dark sound-aesthetic and raw energy. But even here, in the Techno realm, Oliver Koletzki demonstrates his inimitable sense for melody: thus, the gloomy and driving framework of 'Iyewaye' is lit up by a crystal-clear synth-sequence. Similarly, 'Ipuza', which hypnotizes by way of reduction and repetition, is funky in its core thanks to a rolling tribal groove. Functional, but with heart and soul.

Short info:
'I am OK', reads the title of the new album by the Berlin-based producer, DJ and label-owner Oliver Koletzki. The heading0's ambiguity is, of course, deliberate: there's a deeper meaning hidden behind the humorous facade that is Chrisse Kunst's hand-drawn cover, which depicts an unadorned thirteen-year-old Oliver sporting nerd glasses and a striped jumper: I am Oliver Koletzki, raw and authentic. Because musically, on his fifth studio album, Oliver Koletzki looks towards the unaffected freshness of back in the day, and thus, consciously returns to his roots.
'I am OK' - Oliver Koletzki says modestly. In 2014, after 26 years as a musician, he clearly achieved what he set out to do. And his fifth album serves as testimony. Hypothetically he could have a bit of a rest. The energy of each new track here does emphasise, however, that he won't retire any time soon: Oliver Koletzki is just getting started.

The first part of his big city tale entitled Großstadtmärchen acted like a catapult for Oliver Koletzki in 2009, pushing him from the DJ booth into the limelight of electronic pop music. Now, three years later, Oliver releases a sequel to the successful long player in the form of Großstadtmärchen 2. In addition, Stil vor Talent is presenting it's second jam-packed double vinyl remix package of some of the album's many highlights. While Oliver Koletzki's funky beats and Jake the Rapper's charismatic musings on how to best treat everyone's favourite vital organ already provided one of the wittiest moments of Großstadtmärchen 2, 'Fifty Ways to Love Your Liver' gets a well deserved club treatment on the first vinyl. Starting things off, Berlin/Cologne boys Andhim transform the track into a slow grooving monster that borrows the original's warming saxophone and Jake's vocal hooks and marries them with a big bass line and quirky synths. Following the original mix, the flipside bares Murat Kilic' take, which ups the tempo into butt shaking tech house territory, while adding a classic filter house touch thanks to its killer piano workout. Try standing still to this! Finally, Animal Trainer take you on a journey of echoes, stumbling beats and romantic melodies that should get any floor excited due to it's deep bass line. On the second vinyl Oliver Koletzki once again showcases his favourites of the album in their original mixes. It should come as no surprise that he picked 'The Power of Rausch' featuring Nagel: the combination of the literary talent's trippy after hour monologue and Oliver's equally sketchy beats and guitar loop are both, incredibly innovative and effective. 'Bohlweg' is Oliver's homage to his hometown of Braunschweig. Originally included on the bonus edition of the LP, the track bedazzles with grooving percussion and quirky vocal snippets. Next up, the uplifting 'Sunset' presents Oliver and his wife Fran on top form as we are treated to three minutes of pure bliss reminiscent of their hit 'Hypnotized'. Last but not least, Oliver's very own exercise in Daft Punk-style house rounds of this killer package as the distinctly French sounds of '1994' come flying through the speakers.

In addition, Stil vor Talent is presenting a jam-packed double vinyl remix package of some of the album's many highlights. Things kick off with the epic "The Devil in Me", a pop anthem featuring the beautiful voice of Berlin wonderboy Jan Blomqvist. The original song features Oliver's distinctive piano and synthesizer melodies, as well as a strong guitar sample, over which Blomqvist sings in his unique style. Niconé & Sascha Braemer take the track to the dancefloor by creating a slowly pulsating tech house remix that builds upon the groovy guitar sample. Very elegant! Format B then go out of their comfort zone and use the original vocal from the chorus to design a melodic and organic peak-time house affair that simply keeps on moving, and moving. Next up is "You See Red", a pop song of international appeal that introduces the British singer Dear Prudence who we are bound to hear more of in the future. Swiss head house honcho Kellerkind constructs a slick, deep house cut of the original that is very much emblematic of the new wave of pure and raw house music of today. Berlin techno kids Channel X then make the original vocals central to their rework, thus constructing a tech-house version that possesses all the groove needed to get bodies heated on the floor. On the second vinyl "Still" gets its remix treatment. While the original is a high-energy pop affair featuring the characteristic voice of Fran, Niko Schwind mainly utilises its melodies while pitching the vocals down for a masculine effect. This works very well for his laid back house groove. Then, Stil vor Talent youngster Björn Störig takes Fran's original work and assembles a jacking house cut around it. In contrast, Tobi Kramer aims for the peak-time by producing a fast-paced techno piece that is certain to set the world on fire. Last up are three more of Oliver's original songs from the album. "Let me Go Down" is a piece of smooth disco-funk that features the goose bump inducing soul voice of MC Ramon, while "Boy Got Soul" shows Oliver's love for early hip-hop of the G-Funk era. "I Miss My Friends" is an instrumental piece of melancholic electronica about the lonesomeness of the DJ on the road. Luckily for Oliver, and for the rest of us, he managed to get all his friends involved in his latest offering, which is as diverse and eclectic as it gets. At the heart of it is Oliver's love for the music, something that can even be heard through the remixes of others.

This is it! After "Zuckerwatte" here comes the second single release of Oliver Koletzki's massively successful electronic pop album "Großstadtmärchen". Packed with two hot remixes of the Track "These Habits" by Lexy and AKA AKA, a remix of the über-popular track "Hypnotized" by Dapayk as well as the original of radio single "U-Bahn", this EP marks the perfect boundary between home listening and club action. First up is Lexy with his adaption of "These Habits": he surely is in love with Pyur's voice as he sticks to the original, cutting up the vocal only slightly to add more rhythmic grooves and a soft layer of bouncy loops on top. This is a very soft approach perfect for dreamy days and dreamy nights. Next up are newcomers AKA AKA who turn "These Habits" into a tech-house-feast. Some wonderfully sequenced reverby sounds add a fifth dimension to the original, plus some shuffling beats towards the break down and then it's just pure harmony! On the flip: enter the dancefloor with Dapayk, who surely knows how to work with female vocals from his own tracks as Dapayk & Padberg. His wooden loop and super sweet analogue bassline are the foundation for this most minimal approach of "Hypnotized" that will have you run shivers down your spine when he lets the original vocal and melody drop into his staccato beats. We didn't know that minimal pop would sound this epic in 2009!

Oliver Koletzki's highly anticipated second album is an electronic album of the finest proportions.
"HEADSHAPED BOX" encapsulates what Indietronic sounds like in the year 2009: symphonic, melodic and simple unique. On "THESE HABITS" the just seventeen-year-old singer Pyur makes her debut. It shows just how close the dancefloor and pop music really always were, and still are.
For the release of the album Oliver Koletzki will also present it live with a five-piece-band. In the tradition of 60ies pop musicians the band calls upon the name of "The Koletzkis". There will be a bass player, a drummer, Oliver Koletzki on the piano and the laptop as well Pyur and Juli Holz for the singing parts. With this outfit Oliver comes back to his roots as a bandleader and he is already very excited as well as extensively rehearsing this live show. After all, pop music can work great an album, but it's the live performance that it's all about!

Oliver Koletzki, - Since You Are Gone
Back in 2008 Oliver Koletzki released his 4-track-EP "This is so fucking oldschool". Now Stil vor Talent presents the first exclusive remix package of the most successful track of the EP "Since you are gone". With this beautfiul summer house track in mind, it wasn't difficult to convince some of the biggest names in the Stil vor Talent family to get their hands on the track to produce a remix for it. First up is Goa-born techno brainchild Daso. He turns the track into a wonderfully harmonic and warm piece of melodic techno that will keep you grooving until the morning hours for sure. A great guitarry bassline, some little pumping bits and bops plus those typically warm Dasoeske synthie sounds that we simply cannot stop loving. Then, when he puts the original melody in, it's "All arms in the air" guaranteed. This remix is simply wonderful! Next up are Nicone who seem to take an entirely different approach at first and come up with a real original interpretation: A great piano sample and some great club talk about two lovers showing their love for each other make the beginning of this track sound like from a different musical plant. This totally different world is then positively interrupted by some great minimal beats. The track reaches its calamity point when all the different elements are interacting with each other: vocal, effects, loop - it all comes together at just the right moment, nice! On the flip the young Swiss producer Kellerkind is up first and he makes sure to stay true to his roots that seem to be Detroit and Chicago. A wobbling bass, a reverby beat and some softly pumping effects are the base for this track that gets its icing on the cake when Kellerkind drops in Koletzki's original melody. Last up are Penner & Muder who come up with a softly moving techno mob that includes the vocal snippets of the orginal and embeds the melody in a wonderful harmonic scenario. This track never kicks off or goes overboard - it simply keeps floating on a sea of beautiful electronic music. This first remix package of Koletzki's last EP, that seemed to so perfectly capture the new tendency towards house music, is a great start for Stil vor Talent for 2009. Soft, grooving, pumping, melodic, innovative and beautiful. But hold on, this won't be the last of the remixes. In the summer another track of the original EP will get the full remix makeover by Channel X, Format B and Dirty Doering. To be honest: we are already shaking our feet to this and can't wait for part 2.
